This is a Bible Study on the Godhead. Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide.
The dictionary defines Godhead as divine nature or essence; and the Godhead as the nature of God as existing in three persons in: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
The Godhead is divineGod is Holy. God is divine. The things of God can only be Holy. The Godhead is the divine nature, the divine essence, the divine fullness of God existing in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - and these three are one - One God with One Godhead. This unity of Father, Son, and Spirit in one God with one Godhead is called the Holy Trinity. The Godhead is the divine nature or essence of God, existing in three persons. The Godhead is the divine nature of God, existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The foundation of God is based on the truth of God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - and that these three are one God (1 John 5:7). The knowledge of the truth of God as one triune - Father, Son, and Spirit - is foundational truth, revealed from God Himself to all people.
We are to teach all nations all things about God as it is revealed to us in His Word. We are to teach God's Word, God's doctrine, God's gospel, God's ideals, God's commandments, God's statutes and laws, God's way, not our ways or our ideals.
The Eternal GodheadGod is eternal and His Godhead is eternal. The Godhead is eternal and has always existed in God. In the beginning was God with His eternal Godhead. The things of God cannot be separated from God. The Godhead has always been with God. "His eternal power and Godhead" (Roman 1:20), God's eternal power and eternal Godhead are the invisible things of God, with God before the creation of this world and before the creation of humanity. The eternal power of God and His Godhead has always existed in God and with God. The Godhead is not separate from God, and will never be separate from God. The Godhead is timeless, existing at all times. There is no time in which the Godhead did not exist. The Godhead is omnipresent with God, present all together at all times. Eternal means everlasting. Eternal means existing at all times, perpetual, timeless. God is eternal, without beginning and without end. Before all things was God (Genesis 1:1). Nothing was before God.
The power of God and Godhead is eternal. God has eternal power and eternal Godhead. God is eternal and His Godhead is eternal.
The invisible things of GodThe eternal power of God and the eternal Godhead are the invisible things of God, that are understood by the things that God made all around us in His creation. No other power but the power of God could have made the universe. The proof of God's power is seen in His creation.
Creation confirms the existence of God, His eternal power and Godhead. The eternal power of God and Godhead created all things (Colossians 1:16). The eternal power of God and Godhead placed all the planets, stars, sun and moons in place. The eternal power of God and Godhead created all that we see and know about. The eternal power of God and Godhead created all that we cannot see. The things that are made, the creation of mankind and what we can see and what we know exists, confirms God's eternal power and Godhead, because they are understood by the things that are made. What we physically see and know about, does not limit God's eternal power and Godhead, because there is more to God than we can see or know about. We have yet to see all that God is or that God has created or will create. The invisible things of God are not limited to man's imagination, thoughts, or reasoning. The visible things of God confirm the invisible things of God exist. No one has seen all the invisible things of God, but they exist, and they are without excuse.
The Fullness of GodThe fullness of God is in the Godhead. The Godhead is the fullness of God. All of God is the Godhead. The Godhead is the all of God. The Godhead is perfect fullness. The Godhead is complete, lacking nothing. The Godhead is all in all. All in all is complete fullness, completely full, perfectly full. Only God, the fullness of God, can fill all in all (Ephesians 1:23). God desires that every person receive His love, receive His fullness, and be filled with all the fullness of God.
How are we filled with all the fullness of God? When we believe in God, when we believe God is God and believe that God is all that He says that He is (Hebrews 11:6), and that by His grace we are saved by Him (Ephesians 2:8). By believing in God, all of God, for all things, believing every day, from this day to the next day, from faith to faith, by doing, by using our faith, we are saved. Saving faith is not dead stagnant faith, but saving faith is alive, acted upon, exercised daily, used every day of our lives. Saving faith, the faith that saves us by the grace of God, is not words nor religion, but saving faith is received from God and given back to God every day we live on this earth. Saving faith is action, a active relationship with our Creator, continuingly loving God above all else, abandoning self for God, acting upon His Word, and doing the will of God every day of our lives. God is waiting to gift everyone with His complete fullness. God desires to give His love and His fullness to all people. God desires to fill your empty heart with all the fullness He has, if you will only come to Him, ask Him to save you, surrender your life to Him, ask Him to come into your heart, ask Him to make you a new person in Him. It is that simple to receive the salvation of God. God promises all people - whosoever - calls upon His name shall be saved.
Through saving faith in Christ we know the love of Christ, we receive the love of Christ. By receiving the salvation of God, by grace through faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8), we are filled with the fullness of God. By grace through faith, God fills us with Himself, He abides in the hearts of all faithful believers (John 14:23).
The Godhead is the perfect plan of GodWe should never question, or second guess, God or the word of God. We must trust in God always. God knows all things. God is omniscient; He alone has complete knowledge of all things. God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), God knows the past, present, and future of all things. Man does not know all things. Man is not omniscience. We have no comprehension of the mind of God, because His ways are past finding out (Job 9:10; Romans 11:33).
By faith we trust in God for all things, concerning life and death, concerning everything about our lives, from start to finish. Faith in God is trusting in God for all things, our life now and our life to come. Faith in God is believing all He is and all He says in His word, believing with all our heart in His Word and His truth (Hebrews 11:6). God knows all things. God knows the end before the beginning. God's plan for mankind, past, present, and future is a perfect plan, designed by a perfect God, a God who is incapable of error.
The Godhead belongs to GodThe things of God belong to God. The Godhead belongs to God alone. None but God is of the Godhead, because the Godhead is the fullness of God. The Godhead cannot be attached to any other than God. Mankind is not of the Godhead, because only God is of the Godhead. Only God is entitled to the Godhead, because the Godhead is the fullness of God, and the fullness of God belongs to God alone. There is only one God, and there is only one Godhead. The Godhead is God's alone, none else. None other can be of the Godhead, none other than God Himself. God's eternal power and Godhead - His eternal power and Godhead - God alone possesses His eternal power, and God alone possesses His eternal Godhead (Romans 1:20).
The Godhead is indivisibleThere is One God indivisible with one Godhead indivisible, One Lord indivisible, One Saviour indivisible, One Father indivisible, One Son indivisible, One Holy Ghost indivisible God is more than we will ever know here, God is more in one, because God is eternal King, immortal Father, Wonderful, Counsellor, Prince of Peace, might God (Isaiah 9:6). One God in unity and distinctiveness - these three are one - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. In the Father, in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost, dwells the fullness of the Godhead, One Father (invisible Father), One Lord Jesus Christ Son of God (bodily express image), and One Holy Spirit (Comforter and Spiritual teacher), one God all in all and all with one Godhead (Colossians 1:15). The fullness of the Godhead is these three which are one - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - not divided, not separated, but completely equally divinely fully One. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are altogether eternally one. You cannot have one without the other, they are indivisible. There was no time when there was one without the other. Their function and purpose is eternally unified in one. Father, Son, and Spirit are all equal, none is higher than the other.
There is no power but of GodThere is one power, the only true power, which is the power of God. There is one Almighty power, which is the power of God Himself. No power anywhere is greater than the power of God. No power will ever be more powerful than the power of God. God alone holds all eternal power.
God the Father holds all power, the Son Lord Jesus Christ holds all power, and the Holy Spirit holds all power. How? Because these three (Father, Son, and Spirit) are one, one eternal indivisible power.
The Holy Scriptures tell us all that we err not knowing scriptures or the power of God (Matthew 22:29). God and the things of God cannot and should not - ought not - be compared to anything. Nothing can compare to God, or with God, because God is God. Nothing can compare to the power of God. Nothing should be compared to God or the things of God. God should never be compared to the things of man or things of this earth. God is greater than all things. The Godhead should never be thought of in terms of man or the things of man or in terms of things of this earth, because God is greater than all things, God is greater than man, God is greater than things, God is more, God is all in all. God and all that are the things of God are His alone, and are not to be compared to objects or things that He created. God the Creator of all things is greater than any of His creation. God is greater than all that He has created, including mankind, and should never be compared to created things. The Godhead is of God, not of man. The Godhead belongs to God alone.
The Godhead should never be compared to man, or the things of man. Mankind is not the Godhead. Man is not part of the Godhead. The Godhead ought not to be thought of in human terms, because the Godhead is of God, Holy, Righteous, Perfect. The Godhead is not a creation of God or created by God. The Godhead is not like anything created or existing, because the Godhead is the fullness of God. The Godhead is NOT a man-made representation of God, like in a statue. The Godhead is NOT any graven gold, silver, stone, or anything devised by man.
We should not think or reason the Godhead in terms of earthly things, objects, theories, ideals, mankind, or any of man's devices. We have heard the Godhead reasoned by man in terms of many things, but all these manmade theories, conclusions, and comparisons are in error. We ought not to thing that the Godhead is like any of man's device. The Godhead should not be explained by human terms, but with the Word of God. The Godhead is not like anything that we can show you, because the Godhead is of God, the holy things of God, that ought not and cannot be compared to earthly things. The Godhead ought not to be thought of in human terms, because the Godhead is of God, not of man. We err when we try and bring down God and the things of God to our low level, because the things of God are higher than man and cannot be compared to mankind or anything that we have. We cheapen and lessen the power of the Godhead when we give it earthly symbols, human explanations or physical equivalents. Man has tried to compare the Godhead to earthly objects or things, which are all incorrect, and are all are flawed, because God and the things of God cannot be compared, ought not to be compared, with anything. God is God, Holy and Righteous, True and Pure. The common fault in any analogy of the Godhead given by man, is the fact that the example used is generally separated pieces of the same whole, and that when in their separated state are incapable of being each other, never being one in each other. The water analogy, as in water, ice, and steam, is faulty because when water is ice, it cannot be steam. The apple analogy, as skin, flesh, seeds, is faulty because the flesh is not skin or the seeds. There are many other man conceived analogies concerning God that ought not be used (Acts 17:29). Scripture tells us that the Father and the Son are one, not two separate gods, but one God (John 10:30, 17:22). The Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father (John 14:10-11), and no one or nothing can ever separate them, because they are one (John 10:38). The Father is one with the Son, and the Son is one with the Father. The Father is attached, joined with the Son, and cannot be separated, because they are one (John 8:19). You cannot have the Father, eternal life in God the Father, without the Son, because they are one, indivisibly and eternally one (John 3:36; 5:23, 13:20; 14:16, 23). No one knows the Father except through the Son, because the Son reveals the Father to them (Luke 10:22; John 1:18). And everyone who learns of the Father comes to Jesus (John 6:45). The things of the Father are accessed only through the Son, because this is the will of God, and He gave all things to His Son. God is always God. God is always the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. God does not exist in parts or members, where He must be only one or the other, but God eternally exists all in all, at the same time all together, God is always one God. God is always equal, not greater and lesser members - all in all, all together, not divided, or separated members - one mind of God.
The Godhead is God'sThe Godhead belongs to God alone. The Godhead, the hood of God, the God hood, the Godhead can only belong to God. God's eternal power and Godhead - His Godhead - the eternal Godhead belongs to God, and is of God.
The Godhead is the fullness of God. The fullness of God belongs to God alone, none else. The Godhead is the perfect plan of God. The Godhead is the full nature of God - the fullness of God existing in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - and these three are one God (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19). The Godhead, the fullness of God which dwells in the Father, the Son, and in the Holy Ghost all together equally, permanently, undivided, and eternally.
Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead bodilyIn Christ Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9).
Jesus is the bodily image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15).
Jesus is the express image of God, Jesus who for our sakes left His home and riches in Glory and became poor for us, Jesus put on humanity for us, manifested in human flesh for us, so that by His stripes, by His bodily sacrifice, by His shed blood we might have redemption, by His death on the cross and His eternal whole bodily resurrection He destroyed the works of the devil, God by Himself purged our sins, enabling all mankind who believe in Him for their salvation to be reconciled to God forever (John 1:14; Hebrews 1:3; 2 Corinthians 5:18, 8:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 3:8).
The everlasting Godhead of the FatherGod is the everlasting Father of all.
There is one eternal Father God with one eternal Godhead.
The eternal Godhead of the Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit is eternal and was with God in the beginning of all things. In the beginning was God, ... and the Spirit of God moved upon the waters (Genesis 1:1-2). There is one eternal Holy Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 12:4, 11, 13; Ephesians 4:4). We have access to God the Father, through Jesus, by One Spirit (Ephesians 2:18). We are kept by the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:5; 2 Timothy 1:14; Romans 15:13). We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:2; Titus 3:5; Romans 15:16). By the grace of God through faith, all believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit, through faith we are promised the salvation of our souls (Ephesians 2:8, 4:30; Galatians 3:14, 26). The Holy Spirit enables us to call Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 12:3). The Holy Spirit gives us instruction and guidance (1 Corinthians 2:13). The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of all believers of God (1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 5:5, 14:17).
The Godhead is one and triune. There is one triune God with one triune Godhead. Triune means more at one, more in one, not three. God is one is stated in His word. God is more is also stated in His word. God refers to Himself as He, Him, I am, Us, Our and We - God is one God, not three gods, but more in One. How can God be both one and triune? God can be more in one, because He is God and with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). God is not bound by the limitations of mankind, because God is God and He is able to do all things.
God is love, God is Spirit, God is Father, God is the Creator, God is in the hearts of all believers at the same time, God is Lord of all in Heaven and in Earth, all the truth of God is found in His word. God is one and God is more in one than we will ever know here on this earth. Through faith we can believe God is God and God is all who He says He is (Hebrews 11:6), and nothing is too difficult for Him, and with Him all things are possible. God has always been more than man can comprehend. No human being has complete knowledge of God or the things of God, because His ways are past finding out.
God is more than our earthly human minds can understand. We are given limited understanding of God, so that we can accept His truth and receive His salvation, but no person on this earth knows everything that there is to know about God. Since the Scriptures tell us that His ways are past finding out, it is erroneous and arrogant to assume we know all that there is to know about God. The Scriptures tell us, We make a mistake, you err, when we try and limit God with man's human boundaries, or try and figure out God from our limited human brains.
God is more than we will ever comprehend here on earth. The Scriptures tell us all that, you cannot understand the full depth of the riches of both the wisdom and knowledge of God. God tells us all that His ways are past finding out. Yes, we are all given a measure of knowledge of Him, so that we can by faith accept His salvation, but NO ONE knows God completely and fully. God does promise to His children, all who have accepted His grace by faith and received His salvation, to be given a greater understanding of Himself when we see Him one day face to face ( 1 Corinthians 13:9-12) . "Let us make man in our image" (Genesis 1:26), we see from the beginning of the Holy Scriptures that God has always been more in one, as He refers to Himself with the pronouns "us" and "our", but remains eternally one God. Having faith in God is believing in all He is, in all He says that He is in His word, to accept and come to God we must believe He is (Hebrews 11:6).
The Godhead is One GodheadGod is one with one Godhead. These three - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - are One, One Eternal God with One Eternal Godhead. The Godhead is all together Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Godhead is equal in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Godhead is permanently Holy Father, Holy Son, and Holy Spirit. The Godhead is undivided Father, Son, and Spirit. The Godhead is eternal Father, Son, and Spirit. The Godhead is complete in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Godhead is self-existent Father, Son, and Spirit and these three are one. The Godhead is triune, more at one, or more in ne, because the Godhead is of the one triune God.
One triune GodheadThere is One God and there is One Godhead. There are NOT three godheads that make up the Godhead, just like there are NOT three gods who make up God. God and His Godhead is self existent. God is not a created being. God is eternal. There are NOT three gods who make up the Godhead, because God is One. There are NOT three parts of the Godhead, because God is One. There is not one God who is three parts, because God is One. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost - and these three are one. One God. There is one God, none else.
The Godhead is the divine nature of God existing in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is the unity of Father, Son, and Spirit as One Godhead. The Godhead and the Trinity both define God as One, and the express fullness of God revealed to mankind in these three are one - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Godhead is the fullness of God, the all of God, the divine nature of God, the core essence of God. The Almighty Jehovah God Creator Lord and Saviour chose to reveal Himself to mankind fully equally and completely in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these three are one, which is God's perfect plan.
God revealed Himself fully to mankind in the Father, in the Son, and in the Holy Spirit. How wonderful of God to give us all of Himself in such a wonderful and miraculous way! All of God, the fullness of God, the total completely equal undivided unity of God is gifted to mankind in a threefold nature of Himself in the Father and in the Son and in the Holy Spirit, and these three are One (1 John 5:7). The Holy Trinity is used to define the threefold unity of God in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The word "trinity" is not found in the word of God, but by its own definition, which is "threefold", is taught in both the Old Testament and New Testament. God revealed all of Himself to mankind, giving us all of Himself Father, Son and Spirit. The word "trinity" does NOT mean three separate, but "threefold" (three in one), as in these three - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - are one (1 John 5:7). "These three are one" confirms the Holy Trinity of God. God is more in one, or triune. Triune does not mean "three" or "three separate", as in three gods, but triune means more at one, more in one.
God is more. God exists more in one. God has eternally existed more in one. God is more than our finite small minds can comprehend. Some people think that it is impossible to be triune, or threefold, but to limit God to what man can do, or what man is capable of doing is very wrong, because nothing is impossible with God. God is more. God is greater. God is One and God is more in one.
It would be wrong for us to assume that God is limited in anyway, to assume that God being One is in anyway limited or bound by our human thinking or human limitations, because All things are possible with God. God is One. God is one God. God is more in One, because God is God, He can be more and is triune and He is more in One, and He is all in One - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Scriptures tell us that God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are one (1 John 5:7). The Scriptures do NOT say that God is three separate any things, but that "these three are One - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". More in One - these three - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are One.
Why is the Trinity taught if it is not in the Bible?
The word "trinity" is not in the Bible, but neither is the word "bible". A lot of words are not in the Bible that we use today, but that does not mean that their use is incorrect. The word universe is not located in the word of God, but this fact does not mean that I can't use it, or that using it is unholy, or that God did not create it, or that its concept or meaning does not exist in the Bible, or that it don't exist.
Yes, it is true the words "trinity" and "bible" and "universe" are not located in the written word of God, but that does not mean that they cannot be used, or more important that what they define does not exist in the Word of God. The Holy Trinity or Trinity is used to define the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as One God, as the unity of God is stated in the Word of God, the Holy Bible - these three are one. Just as "Bible" is used to describe the written word of God, we can use "Trinity" to describe the threefold unity of God, because this unity is in the written Word of God - The Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit) and these three are one.
Bible by definition means "book". Trinity by definition means "threefold". The threefold nature of God is in the word of God (1 John 5:7).
Too much study wearies the flesh (Ecclesiastes 12:12). We must be in balance with our studies of the Scripture, balancing them with prayer and worship of God. Please do not become dogmatic or legalistic, dissecting every written word to the point of strife and discord, because the Word of God was NOT given to us for that purpose. The word of God was not given to mankind to weaken our faith but to strengthen our faith, and give us comfort and hope. You should never use the word of God to prove to someone that you are right and that they are wrong, but always to lift up God, to glorify God, and show His truth (1 Corinthians 10:31). Our God is the God of Peace and Love, not strife and confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). There are many opinions regarding the Trinity, but only one truth of God. If you find yourself becoming angry, offended, or hateful, when you are discussing or studying His word, you must stop and go to God in prayer and ask Him for forgiveness, and ask Him for His grace and His guidance, confess your sins of anger, offense and hate, lay your burdens at His feet, give Him your cares, and He will direct your path back to Him and His peace and truth. Understanding of the truth of God comes from God Himself, by the Holy Spirit, not from anything you can do by yourself.
Never replace God with words, any words. The word "trinity" does NOT mean God, but defines the threefold fullness of God, as God willed it to be revealed to mankind, in the threefold unity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one, these three are one. Our faith is to be in God, not words or definitions, and not in doctrines of men. Never compromise your faith in God. Never replace God with any thing, any word, any idea, any man made doctrine, any religion, or any thing. God is NOT a religion. God is NOT a theory. God is NOT limited to our ideals of who He is. God is God, the eternal God.
Have faith in God.We are not to have faith in the word "trinity", or any words, but we are to have faith in God, there is a difference. We can believe in the Holy Trinity as defining the threefold unity of God as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, but we are never to replace our faith in God with any definition of God. Just as we are not to replace God with love. Yes, God is love (1 John 4:8, 16), but love is NOT God, there is a difference. We are not to replace God with love, as in having faith in love or worshipping love as God. Nothing is to be placed before God, or instead of God, because God is eternal, God is first, God is before all things (Colossians 1:17). God is God. God can be nothing other than God. God is eternally and everlasting God. God is first, God is before all things, God is greater and higher than all things. God defines love, but love is NOT God, just as the (word) trinity is not God. We should be careful not to replace God with definitions or words that He defines. God is God. We are not to worship love, salvation, religion, or any thing, or word, but we are to worship God, we are to have faith in God. We are not to replace God with ideals, religion, or any person, place or thing, or word. God alone saves people, not religion, not theory, not doctrine, not words.
We are to worship God. We are to believe in God for our salvation. We are to have faith in God. God saves, none else. God is God. God is NOT religion. God is not limited to our words, to our beliefs or even our faith. God is limitless. Let's get past the issue of the word "trinity" not being in the Word of God, and focus on the teachings of God. With the knowledge of "trinity" being defined as the "threefold" (and not three separate gods), then we can progress to the doctrine of "the Holy Trinity" defined in the threefold unity of God as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Holy Trinity is taught as biblical doctrine because by definition, its meaning is found in the Word of God, - no, not the word "trinity" but the teaching and the doctrine of God's threefold unity in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in these three are One. The threefold unity of God in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is defined as "the Holy Trinity" because it is the Holy Trinity (threefold) of God.
The divine tri-unity of God in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is defined as "the Holy Trinity" because it is the Holy threefold nature and unity of God. The Holy Trinity does not teach that there are three gods, but that there is One God united eternally in the Father, in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost, and these three are one (1 John 5:7).
Before we being a discussion of the Holy Trinity, we must establish a solid foundation with God's truth:
1. There is One God, none else. Any study of "the Holy Trinity" must be established upon God Himself, because There is One God, none else.
The word "trinity" does not mean three separate, but "threefold", more in one. There can be no understanding of the Holy Trinity without the knowledge of the truth of God, that there is One True Living God. God says, "Look unto me and be saved" because "I am God and there is none else". In the beginning was God, one God, none else (Genesis 1:1). There is One who saves and there is One who we all must look to in order to be saved, and that One is God, because there is none else but God who can save anyone, because God is God. Salvation of our souls is obtained by looking to God, believing in God for salvation for He alone is God and there is none else. We are all saved the exact same way, by first coming to God, we are all saved by believing that God is God and that He alone is able to save us. There is one God. There is one God who saves. There is one God who is Saviour. There is one God who is LORD of all. There is one God who can give His salvation to all who call upon Him. Salvation is obtained when we believe in God to save us, believe in who He is, believe in all that He is, and believe that by His grace alone, God is able to save us from sin and death.
No one can save themselves by any means, because salvation is the gift of God that we all receive by His grace through faith in Him alone.
2. The ways of God are past finding out. The ways of God are past finding out. We are not to understand everything there is about God, but what He wants us to know, the rest (what we don't understand) is to be believed of God through faith - faith that what God says about Himself is true. Faith is a gift from God, given to all men (Romans 12:3), so that we by faith can come to God and receive His salvation by faith (Acts 26:18; Romans 3:22, 30, 5:2; Galatians 3:26). By faith we understand that God is God and that He alone is able to give us eternal life. The Scriptures never state that God will reveal everything about Himself to us now, but tells us that we know in part. The part that God reveals to us now is sufficient for us and allows us full access to God now, and access to God's blessings. No one on this earth knows all there is to know about God. God promises to reveal Himself to us through faith in His Son by the Holy Spirit. God promises that what He chooses to reveal to us about Him is sufficient for us. We lack nothing with God. According to God's will, we are complete in Him. By faith we have all we need from God today, by faith we know we are complete in Him, and by faith we accept that His ways are past finding out. The revelation God gifts to His own is limited, but not incomplete, for we are whole in Him, we are complete in God, lacking nothing. The revelation God gifts to His own is limited, but not by God's power, but by our finite limited earthly minds. Our fragile earthly minds were not created to comprehend or hold the full knowledge of God. The Holy Scriptures tell us that, now we know in part - only a "part" a fraction of what will someday be revealed to us (God's children) by God Himself - now I know in part, but then shall I know. The knowledge of God that God gifts to us is sufficient for all our needs today. We do not have the capabilities to comprehend all of God. Although, God promises that one day soon, that He will reveal to us all that has been withheld from us (for our own good). God made us and knows what is best for us.
Today, we are not to know everything, and that is okay, because this is the perfect plan of God. By faith in God, we trust that God absolutely knows what is best for us, and that knowing in part is more than sufficient for us. The part of these Scriptures that amazes me, is not that one day soon we will know everything as God will reveal it to us, but that some day soon we will actually see God Himself - Jesus - face to face - not see Him through faith as we do now, but face to face. Praise God! Thank You, Jesus! I just don't have the words to describe that joy. When we accept the fact that God's ways are not our ways, and that His ways are past finding out, when we trust that God knows best for us, we can have peace in our knowledge of God. We err, we stumble, when we try and 'figure out' God from our limited human minds, from our human viewpoint, from human thinking and reasoning, from our own understanding of the way things are, instead of accepting His truth through faith, in the way that He intended. When we study the Word of God, we are always to lean on His understanding, not our own understanding. Why would we think for a moment that our understanding of anything would be better or clearer than God's?
God's ways are not our ways. Do not try to "figure out" God, because you can't - His ways are past finding out.
God gifts us with knowledge of Himself, but this understanding is limited to what He wills, but which is complete for us. True knowledge of God is according to His will, not ours. True knowledge of God does not come from us but from Him. We have no knowledge of God without God gifting it to us. True knowledge of God is from God, not from ourselves. True knowledge of God that we have of Him will always align with His word. If you want to know if something you perceive is true, all you need to do is find it in God's word. If a thought you have about God is true, it will be in His Word. All things true about God can be confirmed by God's Holy Word. All the truth of God is written down for us and gifted to us in His Word. Sure man can makeup ideals and makeup knowledge anyway he chooses and tell others it is "of God", but it is not the true knowledge of God, because it is not from God but from man himself, which has no validity, no substance, no truth. God knows all things, and knew that there would be false teachers, false prophets, false doctrines from men that would pervert His truth, and so God gave us His instruction in His Word how to see through the lies of false doctrine. How do we know when our knowledge of God, or the teachings of others is true? God says that true doctrine will always align with His Word, true teachings will never contradict His word, true teachings will never add too or take away from His Holy word. We are not lacking anything with God, we are complete in God, because He is our completion. God is sufficient to supply all our needs, according to His will (Philippians 4:19). The perfect will of God equips us with all we need to know Him. We are given a gift in salvation that enables the Holy Spirit to instruct us and teach us all that God wants us to know about Him. Through our living faith and relationship with Jesus Christ we continue in the knowledge of the truth of God. Through continued faith in God, we believe everything that God reveals to us through prayer, through worship, and through His Holy Word. Do you wish to please God? We please God, through our continued living in faith, loving God every day, serving God, and seeking the will of God. I can think of no greater gift to God than to please God by remaining in the faith and loving Him. I please God, you please God, we can all please God by remaining in the faith, believing God is God, believing all that He says that He is in His word.
I do not know all there is to know about God, no one does. You may not grasp all there is to know about God, don't worry, no one completely understands all there is to know about God. You may not understand everything that God says about Himself, in His word, but that's okay, because that is why He gave us faith. Faith is a gift from God Himself to us. Faith allows us to believe beyond our own understanding or reasoning. Faith is believing what God says period, without seeing, without logic, without science, without completely understanding. Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29). Faith is believing in God without seeing God. Faith is based on the reality of God without physical substance (Hebrews 11:1). We must have faith in God to be saved by God (Hebrews 11:6). We must believe all of what God has revealed to us through His Word. Partial faith is unbelief. I can't believe parts of the word of God and have faith in God, because God wants us to come to Him with complete faith in Him, unwavering, undoubting, total faith in Him. Partial faith is unbelief.
We must believe that all things are possible with God. We must believe that nothing is impossible with God. God is able to do all things. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). If God said it, you can believe it. I learn something new from God every day. God is not teaching anything new, but I am learning something new because He has opened my eyes wider to His truth. God does not change (Hebrews 13:8), but I do. Every day I grow in the faith, grow in His truth and grow in the knowledge of Him. The truth of God is eternal. The truth of God has existed before all things. The same truth of God has existed since the beginning of this world and all mankind, but we may have not been open to see all of His truth. I understand more and more of the Word of God every day, every year, but God has not changed, I have. Every year I grow more in the faith, but faith does not change I do. The more time I seek God and spend time with God, the more God reveals Himself to me. Salvation is a partnership with God, salvation is a relationship with God, salvation is a journey with God through this life to the next. The more faith I exercise every day, living from faith to faith, the more God gives to me, the more God manifests Himself to me, in me, and through me. I am being molded by the precious hand of God, conforming me to Him, every day. God does not conform to us, but we conform to Him. God will mold us and remake us, if we let Him. Every year I read the same Scriptures that I did the year before, but discover new meaning for me, as the Holy Spirit teaches me I learn. The same Scriptures I read last week are new this week, because this is the way God wrote His living Word. What an amazing gift we were given, in that His written Word is the living Word. God doesn't change, but we do. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The written Word of God is a miracle and a precious gift from Almighty Jehovah God to all of mankind. God didn't have to, but He gave us all His written Word, so that we may learn about Him and come to the knowledge of His truth and receive His eternal gift of salvation. God can be nothing other than God, eternally self-existent, who was and who is and who will be forevermore.
3. With God all things are possible. So far, we have established that (1) There is One God, none else and (2) Gods ways are past finding out, now we can establish the third truth - (3) With God ALL THINGS are possible.
Many people put up walls for themselves - between them and God - by using their own human reasoning to conclude that there is no possible way this or that could happen. Many people state that certain truth of the Word is not factual because "that would be impossible" to do these things. Man is limited to the physical, but NOT God. God has NO limitations. God is all powerful and is able to do all things. God created all things, God is the Creator of all things, this fact alone confirms that God is more, and that with Him all things are possible. If God says that He is all powerful and knows all things, then it is true (1 John 3:20). If God says that He is able to save mankind by His grace alone, then it is true (Ephesians 2:5, 8). If God says that He is able to manifest Himself in the flesh, then it is true (1 Timothy 3:16). If God says that He is able to raise Himself from the grave in three day, then it is true (Acts 10:40). If God says that He rose from the grave, then it is true (1 Corinthians 15:12). If God says that He came to earth to save the world and destroy the works of the devil, then it is true (1 John 3:8). If God says that He will return one day soon, then it is true (John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 22:20). Believing in all the Word of God requires faith in God, unwavering, undoubting, complete faith in God, that He is God, that He is able to do all that He says in His word. Every person that comes to God for His salvation, must believe that He is God, that He is the Creator of all things, that He alone gives life to all things, that He is all that He says that He is.
Nothing is too difficult or impossible with God. All things are possible with God. Through unwavering faith we must believe that nothing is too difficult for God, and that ALL THINGS are possible with God. Doubt and confusion creep into our earthly minds when we forget this foundational truth of God. There are no limits to God - He can do all things. There is no greater power than the power of God. We do not have to understand the power of God, but we must believe that there is no greater power than the power of God.
Although we have discussed (above) that the actual word "trinity" is not in the written word of God, the teaching of the trinity of One God is stated throughout the Word of God. We should never attempt to limit God to our own human ideals, human limitations, human reasoning, or human thinking, in believing that God cannot do this or that, because ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37, 18:27). God is greater than we are; and God is able to be more than we can conceive with our human minds. God teaches throughout His word that God is greater than all things, even greater than things we can see, or imagine. God is greater than we can imagine. God is beyond our definitions of Him. God is past finding out (Romans 11:33). God is eternal and God is the Creator of all things and God cannot be limited or defined by mankind. God defines man, man doesn't define God. God does not need man to exist, but man needs God to exist. God is self-sufficient, man is not self-sufficient. God requires nothing to exist. God existed before mankind and this world. God is eternal. We must be careful not to limit or diminish the power of God. The Word of God states that we err not knowing the power of God (Matthew 22:29; Mark 12:24). The power of God is greater than we can imagine. We cannot have faith and doubt God. We cannot doubt God and have faith in God at the same time, this is called being double-minded. Partial faith is unbelief. Without believing all things are possible with God, it is impossible to understand the Holy Trinity. To understand the deep things of God, you must have faith in God, and believe without a doubt that with God all things are possible. Why do I keep repeating this truth of God - with God all things are possible - because so many people get stuck from believing in the truth of God, by such stumbling blocks as "it is impossible", or "that would be impossible". Yes, man is limited, yes many things are impossible with man, but not with God, for with God all things are possible. When speaking about the things of God, we must replace "impossible" with "possible", replace "can't" with "can", because all things are possible with God. Without believing this foundational truth of God, it is impossible for man to come to the truth and knowledge of God, because without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
The "US" of GodIn the written word of God, He addresses Himself by many words or names. God uses both singular and plural pronouns of Himself, "I", "I am", "me", "he", "him", "himself", "us" "we" and "our". Is God singular or plural? Make no mistake, God is One, and there is only One God. (Mark 12:32; Romans 3:30; 1 Corinthians 8:6). ..for there is One God; and there is none other but He. (Mark 12:32). God is more in one. God is one and triune (Genesis 1:26), not plural and singular, there is a difference. God is God. God is all in all. God is One eternally. God is not multiple gods, because God is One God. How is it possible for God to be both one and triune at the same time? Because - with God all things are possible. In the Word of God, the first verse of Scripture states, "In the beginning God created..." (Genesis 1:1). We know that God created all things. We know God is the Creator. We know God is in the beginning, before all things God existed. This first important Scripture established God as first and before all things, in the beginning, and established God as the One Creator of all things. "In the beginning God created..." the wording of this Scripture was not by chance, or coincidence, but the perfect plan of God. Then, if we look in the 26th verse of Genesis 1, the Scripture states, "And God said, Let us make man in our image..." (Genesis 1:26). How can God be one, but refer to Himself as "us" and "our"? Because all things are possible with God. God is more in one, triune. God has no limitations, like man does. God is not bound by man's limitations. Please note the perfect wording of this important Scripture, with the use of - God, Us, Our - and that the "us" and "our" used in this Scripture refers to one God, God alone, none else. The fact that God said "let Us" and "our image", expands our knowledge of God Himself, expands the boundaries that we may have placed on God, showing all mankind, that God is God and God is greater than man because He is more in One God, and that He is more in One God than we yet understand. God purposefully attached Himself to "Us" and "Our" for mankind's understanding of Him. God used this wording intentionally to teach mankind about Him, to personally reveal Himself to mankind, all of Himself to mankind. In the beginning God was more in one, in the beginning God was triune - more - God has always been more in One, eternally more in one. Eternally God has always been more in One God. The "Us" and "Our" of God is eternal and has always existed from the beginning. The One God who referred to Himself as "Us" is the same One God throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. The One God who called Himself "Us" is the same one God yesterday, today, and forever. The One God who called Himself "Us" is from everlasting to everlasting. In the beginning God referred to Himself as "Us" and He will be this same God throughout all eternity. Every letter and every word in the Word of God was chosen on purpose by God, for God's purpose, to fulfill His will on earth, which is to share His love with mankind, to save mankind and to bring all people to Him. Yes, man is limited. We refer to our one self human being as "I, or me, her or him", and not by "we", "us", "our". Why? Because we are corporately one single human being, not more in one, but limited in power and personhood. God is limitless. God is greater than man. God is more than man. God is more in one. With men it is impossible, but NOT with God, for all things are possible with God (Mark 10:27). God abides in the hearts of all believers, all of God abides in our hearts, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit abides in the hearts of the saved (John 14:16, 23).
Holy, Holy, HolyGod expresses Himself in Scripture with triune holiness, Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD... (Isaiah 6:3). ...Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. (Revelation 4:8).
These three are One
Baptized in the name of GodAs a pledge of surrendering our life to God by salvation through faith, God asks each of us to be baptized. Baptism represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus, for through salvation we put to death sin and bury our old way of life, and are born again, created in Christ Jesus, we become a new creature, holy to God. We are charged to be baptized as a outward acknowledge of our pledge of faith to God for all the days of our lives. Our baptism is consecrated and ordained in the name of God, which is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
By the power of Jesus, we are to baptized in the name of God and go to all the nations and teach them the gospel of Christ, as given in the Word of God, leading others to the Kingdom of God, and baptizing them in the name of God (Matthew 28:18-20).
God described His person in His Holy Scriptures, confirming that Jesus Christ is the express image of God's person (Hebrews 1:3). No, God is not man or like man. Mankind was made in God's image, God was not made in our image. The personhood of God is beyond the personhood of mankind. The person of God goes beyond the person of mankind. God is not like the person of man. The person of man has boundaries and limitations. God has no boundaries or limits. The personhood of God is divine, man's person is not divine. The Son, the Father and the Holy Spirit are all God's person. God is NOT a person like man is a person, because God is divine. God is not a man, or like man with sin, faults and limitations. We can use person with God, if we use it as it is used in Scripture with God, His person, God's person. God has personage, or personhood, His person, but never like man's sinful blemished person. The things of God are not like the things of man. When we speak of God's person, it must be reverenced and considered higher than the person of mankind. God's person is blameless, sinless, flawless, unblemished, perfect, pure, true, holy, divine and righteous. Scripture shows us the person of God, His divine person.
These three are oneScripture always states and confirms - from beginning to end - that there is One God, the One True Saviour Lord Almighty Jehovah Living God. Scriptures tell us that God purposed three to bear record of His truth in Heaven, and that these three are One - The Father, the Word (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Three bear record in Heaven, three forms, three modes, three persons - the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost - and these three are one. "These three are one" is only in one scripture - 1 John 5:7, and is not to be applied to any other scriptures. These three are one: God the Father, God the Son who is the Word, and God the Holy Ghost who is the Holy Spirit.
Please note, no other "three" are one, only these three are one. Don't be confused by false teachings and false doctrines of men, who suggest that all groups of three are then one, because this is NOT what is written in the word of God.
God said that only these three are one. Other "groupings of three" in the word of God are NOT one. God said ONLY THESE THREE ARE ONE. No other groupings of three are one.
False doctrine and false teachers pervert and distort the truth of God and do not bring peace, but bring confusion with their lies. False doctrine is silenced by the truth, because there is only one truth, the truth of God.
God is NOT a manGod is God. God is divine. God is NOT a human being like we are with sin and limitations. God is NOT a man, in the same respect that we are man, because God is divine.
God is a Spirit
Three in Heaven and these three are one
God said there are three that bear record in heaven and these three are one. God is GOD, the three are GOD, and the three are ONE GOD. The word of God does NOT say three gods. There is only ONE true living God. Please Note: This scripture does NOT apply to ALL scriptures that group people together. The scriptures does NOT say that ALL threes, or groups of three people in the bible are one, only these three are one. This scripture only applies to these three - the Father, the Word (Son), and the Holy Ghost - these three are one. Why I am saying this is because there are false teachings published that claim this means that all scriptures that group three people together are saying that every three are one, also, but this is false teaching because this is NOT what this scripture says. Prayer for the lost:
Without saving faith in Jesus Christ, no one can truly understand the Word of God, that states that God is Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Through salvation, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and He gives us understanding of the truth of God (John 15:26; 1 Corinthians 12:3). We become the children of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Through saving faith we as the children of God, we receive the knowledge of the truth of God from God the Holy Spirit.
Through the Spirit of God we receive His understanding. Through the Spirit of God we can receive the knowledge of the truth and understand. God gives ALL His own children the knowledge of Him to understand Him and understand His truth (1 Corinthians 2:9-16). The lost of this world cannot understand God and the truth of God, because they are without the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). Without saving faith in Jesus Christ, no one is able to understand how God can be ALL He says that He is, which is the Father God, and the only begotten Son of God, and the Holy Ghost and all are one.
Only by being "of God" through receiving the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus, are we able to believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord. God tells us in His Scriptures that all things of the Father belong to the Son, and that none know the Father except that the Son reveal it to them (Luke 10:22). The knowledge of God the Father through the Son is the perfect plan of God. The Scriptures also tell us believing in God the Father cannot be separated from believing in Jesus, because they are one (John 10:30). Belief is God the Father is non-existent without belief in His Son. Only through faith is it possible to please God, come to God and believe that He is God. With faith it is possible to believe that God is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and these three are one. God is our Father God and Jesus Christ the Son of God and the Holy Ghost. Through the natural, our carnal mind, through the flesh no one can know God, but through the Spirit of God we are able to know God. Jesus is the Shepherd and the Lamb, Jesus is the Father and the Son. There is but one God and there is but One Spirit. The Spirit of God the Father and the Spirit of Christ Jesus, they are one Spirit of God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost are ONE God. We do not serve three gods, we serve ONE God, revealed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and "these three are one". Those without God cannot receive this knowledge. The truth of God comes from God. The Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost, teaches our spirit, when we are born again of the Spirit of God. We are all saved by responding to the call from God. We all hear the same call from God by the Holy Spirit. God calls every person to Him, but not all people respond to Him. Everyone receives an invitation from God, but not all people come to Him. God gives everyone a choice to come to Him. God does not force anyone to love Him. God does not make everyone receive His free gift of salvation. We all have a choice to accept God into our lives. God gave us free will to answer His call. God gave us all free will to choose Him as our Lord and Saviour over our life. So, if we all hear the same call from God, why doesn't everyone choose to receive God?
God says that there are many reasons why all people do NOT choose to receive Him into their lives:
Knowing about God and having saving faith in God are different. Even the devils know about God, but they do NOT have saving faith IN God. The devils know that there is one God, but they refuse to believe in Him as their master.
Even the devils know that there is one God, and that these three are one - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
The lost are blinded by satanThe god (little "g") of this world is satan, the devil. The devil has blinded the minds of them that do NOT believe in Christ Jesus.
How does the devil blind the minds of the unbelieving? By yielding to the temptations of the devil, by yielding to sin, saying yes to sin, instead of answering the call of God, our hearts over time become hardened. Repeatedly rejecting God, hardens the hearts of men. There is a point where a person's heart is hardened to the point that it cannot hear God's call. God does not promise anyone that they will forever hear His call. This is why the scriptures say, "Today if you hear His voice calling you, don't reject it, but answer it", because you may not hear God's voice ever again (Hebrews 3:15). Through sin we all separate ourselves from God, by yielding to the temptation of sin, committing sin, living in sin, we become a servant to sin. By hardening our hearts, rejecting God, we choose the sin of the devil, over the righteousness of God. We permit the devil into our lives, we "give place to the devil". We must never give place to the devil in our lives (Ephesians 4:27). The result of sin is death. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). If we continue to live in sin, we will perish, die in our sins. When we repeatedly say yes to sin and NO to God, our hearts become hardened and we become blind to the Light of God.
Hate blinds us from God
Hate is the opposite of God, because God is love. Hate destroys anyone. No one can live with God and hate anyone. God says that no one can say that they love Him, serve Him are saved by Him, and hate anyone. God says you cannot know Him and hate anyone. We must get rid of hate, to love God. We must get rid of hate to know God. We must get rid of hate to be saved and receive eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
How do we remove hatred from our hearts? Through faith in God, by believing in Jesus, through salvation we can remove hatred from our hearts forever. Through faith in God we are able to trust that God is able to do anything, including removing hatred from our hearts. God can change anyone.
Refuse the love of God
We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. By accepting the love of God and believing God is all who He says that He is, we are saved. We are all saved the exact same way, by grace through faith (Galatians 3:26).
God loves you. God loves you with His perfect love, not with the fake counterfeit love that's in the world. You don't have to understand how God can love you, but you must believe that God does love you. God loves you not for who you are or what you have done, but in spite of who you are and what you have done. Even though you are who you are, Jesus loves you. There is no person who will not be forgiven by God, no matter what they have done in the past, if they ask Him.
God loved us before we loved Him. God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to this earth to be a sacrifice for our sins, so that by His sacrifice of blood on His cross, we could be saved. Without believing the love of the truth of God, all that God says that He is, in His Holy word, we cannot be saved, we are deceived and unrighteous without receiving the love of the truth of God and we will perish.
God gives everyone a choice - life or death - life through believing in Him - or death believing in yourself - God asks you to choose life - God wants you to choose life. (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Receiving the love of God, the truth of God, the righteousness of God is our choice, and without making the choice to receive the truth of God no one is saved.
We are all saved the exact same way, by grace through faith. By the grace of God through faith in His Son. We all become the children of God by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Only the Lord God has power over all things, only God can save anyone from sin and death, only God gives eternal life, we must have faith in God to be saved. Faith in God is required for salvation. No one is saved without faith in God. No one receives eternal life without faith in God.
Always pray before you speak with others regarding God and the things of God. The Holy Spirit will guide you what to say and what not to say. Trust in God for everything you do and say. Pray after speaking with others. After you are through speaking with someone about God or the things of God, pray again. Prayer is a key ingredient in the life of every believer. If you are wondering if you pray enough, know that no one prays enough.
Love and respectGod is love and we are God's children. Always start with love - the love of God - when speaking of God and the things of God. When explaining anything concerning God, you want to make sure that the love of God is paramount. You should never seem angry or offensive, but be nice, be kind, be gentle, and show God's love. Remember, no one ever wins arguing the Word of God. We are never to be judgmental or condescending, when speaking of God and the things of God. We are the children of God but we are nothing without God. Every person has an investment in their own personal beliefs. Many people have believed a particular way most of their lives, to the point it becomes part of their lives, part of themselves, interwoven into who they have become. Respect others. Respect is given to you when you give respect to others. Put yourself in their place. You would not want someone telling you that what you have believed in God all your life is wrong. To refute someone's belief in God is personal. Show them the truth. You don't want to tell someone that they are wrong, but you want to show them what is the truth, show them the truth of God. My words may mean little to someone, but the Word of God has the power to change anyone.
Plant God's words and they will not return void.
PrayerPrayer is essential to your walk with God. Continual daily prayer empowers and strengthens our faith, our power in Christ, and our spirit and soul. We must seek God every day in prayer. We are to poor out our hearts to our Lord every day. We must praise and worship God every day. We must pray that God will lead us and guide us, in everything that we say and do, so that other's will see Jesus in us and through our daily lives. We must earnestly pray that the Light of Christ may shine through us so brightly that others will see it, and asks us for the joy that they see in us. We must pray in spirit and in truth, grounding our faith in Christ Jesus, so that in all that we do, we glorify our Father in Heaven. We must pray that God will bring people across our daily path, bring people into our lives that need the help which we have found in Christ. We must pray for situations in our lives that we can bring others to God's truth, the wisdom to speak His words at the right time, and the boldness to be fearless in Christ Jesus. Our prayer life is our sanctuary with God. Our prayer life is essential to being a faithful witness in Christ Jesus. Our prayer life is the starting point of sharing the gospel and the truth of God to anyone. We must be rooted down, so we are not shaken easily. We must have a current connection with God through prayer to be an effective steward, effective disciple, and effective ambassador of Christ. Our faith, our strength, our power to accomplish anything begins and ends with Christ, because without Christ Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:5).
ListenPeople know when you are listening to them, and they know when you are not listening to them. You may begin by asking the person what they believe the Holy Trinity means to them; and then, refrain from interrupting them AND truly listen to what they have to say. (You know if you are truly listening when you can repeat back what someone has said to you). You may want to write down what they are saying, if the situation permits, so you can read back what they say, and they know you are listening to them. You may ask, "I would like to hear your definition of the Holy Trinity", or "what do you believe is the Holy Trinity"?. You do not want to ask, "what is your problem...." or "why don't you believe...."? these are argumentative questions. A lot of people received their knowledge of God and the things of God - not through prayer with God or by studying the word of God themselves - but from a religious teacher or leader, family member, or other person. Many people place their trust in some person to tell them the truth of God, and base their religious beliefs on what someone has told them, who they may highly respect and believe. Remember, just as you feel in your heart that you know God and His truth, people with other beliefs have the same strong feelings about what they believe is true. "Why do you think you believe that way?" You will also want to ask them where or whom did they receive their information, "what is the bases for your beliefs"? You are looking for an organization, or name of a person here. If they say the Bible, you ask them for specific Scriptures, where in you must both agree on a translation.
Define the wordsMany people are confused about the Holy Trinity, because they have a misconception of what the word "trinity" actually means, because they have been taught a certain way all their lives. Many people who are against the teaching of the Holy Trinity, believe what they were told which is it is a pagan doctrine teaching that there are "three gods", or God is "three gods", which is incorrect. God is God. God is one God. God is triune. God is more in one. The word "trinity" means threefold, not three. If you fold a piece of paper into thirds it is threefold and it is still one piece of paper, and it is not three separate sheets of paper but one. The word "triune" means more at one, or more in one, not three. Threefold can be explained in folding a piece of paper into three equal parts. Is the paper three separate pieces, or one? Yes, the paper is still one, even though it has three equal parts. (Please note, I am NOT saying the Holy Trinity is compared to a piece of paper, I am saying the word - trinity "threefold" can be explained with a piece of paper.) The Holy Trinity defines the threefold nature of God as revealed throughout His Holy Word. God's perfect plan was to give mankind revelation of Himself throughout His Holy Word. God chose to reveal Himself to mankind in Father, Son, and Spirit, and these three are one (1 John 5:7). What a beautiful, perfect plan of God, that God thought so much of us, loves us so much, that He gave Himself to us in such a perfect way.
Okay, I understand the concept of "trinity", but how can one person be three, that's impossible! Some people argue the trinity based on the fact that it is simply impossible for three people, or persons to be One. This argument cannot stand up against GOD because GOD has all power to do all things.
All things are possible with GodWithout the understand that all things are possible with God, it would be difficult to understand the things of God. God's ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8). God is not bound by the limitations of mankind. God can do anything. God is beyond our understanding. Man cannot do what God can do. With man certain things are impossible, but not with God, because with God all things are possible.
Reference the sourceEstablish the truth of God as the infallible Word of God. God's truth is revealed to mankind through His written Word. All of God's word is true and given from God to all mankind to us for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instruction in His righteousness. Use God's words to prove God's truth. You would not want someone telling you that what you have believed about God all your life is wrong. To refute someone's belief in God is personal. Put yourself in their place. You don't want to tell someone that they are wrong, but you want to show them what is the truth, show them the truth of God in His Word. The Word of God is all about God. God gave mankind revelation of Himself through written form in His Holy Scriptures. The Scriptures were written by God through holy men of God for us, for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for our instruction in the righteousness of God.
We are all to use God's word not only to learn and grow in our faith, but to reach others with His truth and give them hope.
Every word in God's word is true and every written word will be fulfilled (Matthew 5:18). The written Word of God was written for our comfort and to give hope to a hopeless world, and for our salvation and for those of us who believe in God could have assurance of eternal life for we believe on the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
All the truth of God can be shown from His word. The LORD God Almighty Jehovah in Heaven bears record that these three are one - the Father, the Word (the Son - Jesus Christ), and the Holy Ghost (Spirit).
The truth of God will always be supported in His Holy written Word. False doctrine and lies of man will not be found in God's word. False doctrines contradict the Holy Word of God. A partial lie is a lie. Partial faith is unbelief. God savesGod holds all the power, and God holds the power to change anyone. We don't use God, but God uses us, to fulfill His will, to accomplish His purpose. We don't hold the power to change anyone, but God does. The power of God is used by God through us. We are nothing without God. As disciples of Christ, we are the instruments of God. The creature is not greater than the Creator. We have no power without God, but God has all power without us. We should never believe that we can save anyone, because God saves. We are but tools, instruments that God has chosen to use to spread His truth to the world. We are nothing without God. The words you say cannot change the beliefs of any individual, because God changes the hearts of men. The truth of God comes from God Himself. The Spirit of God reveals God to the spirit of man. I cannot save anyone, because God alone saves. What we can do is show others the way to God, give them the truth of God, proclaim the glory of God, and share the love of God. You can share what you know to be God's truth with others, but you do not hold the power to save anyone, because only God saves. You can lead, direct, explain the truth of God to others, but the power to change the hearts and minds of people belongs to God alone. God saves, not you and not me. The miracle of salvation comes from God alone, to all who believe in Him for their salvation. As disciples of Christ, we are commissioned by God to share His love and His truth and show others the way to God's salvation, but we do not save anyone, because God alone saves people.
Every word of God is important. Every word of God that you share with someone is a new seed planted. If the truth of God that you share with someone is rejected, do not think you have lost in any way, because you have planted a seed, the word of God into their hearts, that God will use. Every single word of God that you share with others is capable of growing into saving faith. Every truth of God, every word of God shared by you with others is used by God. Every word of God shared is important to God. (Isaiah 55:11). The word of God is powerful (Hebrews 4:12). Every word of God that is shared with another is used by God. We should never be discouraged sharing the truth of God. We should never be discouraged when the truth of God is rejected, and we should never give up sharing God's truth and His love. Some people may not let us share God's truth with them, but their rejection of God's message cannot stop our prayers for them. We must faithfully and continually pray for all people who are without God, without saving faith, without knowledge of the truth God, all who are misled, and all who are without Christ. Prayer works! God promises to answer all prayers!
Why is there so much controversy over the things of God? Well, one reason is because there are so many people in this world. Where you have two people, there will be disagreement over something. As the children of God, we must believe in God. We must believe that there is One God, One Spirit, One Lord, One Faith. We must choose to love God and love one another, at all times, and under all circumstances. Many times, we must agree to disagree. The disagreements between mankind will not be settled on this earth. No one wins arguing the Word of God. We must stand firm in our faith with the love of God. Our faith in God does not allow us to harm others who disagree with us, in words or actions, anyway for any reason. Jesus didn't call down 10,000 angels from Heaven to avenge Him on the cross, but He humbly gave Himself as a sacrifice for all the people of this world for all time. Jesus could have killed all those who ever hurt Him, but that was not His plan, that is not the way of God. God is love. God conquered sin and death with love. God made a way for all people to receive everlasting life with love, the love of one - the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ, who suffered greater pain than we will ever know, who laid down His life, so that everyone who believes on Him might live for all eternity in the Paradise of God, the Heavenly Kingdom of God forevermore. God wants us to bring others to Him through His love. We must never compromise our faith in God, but we are to love God above all else. God wants us to get along with each other, love one another, as Christ loves us. Everything we do and everything we say must be for the glory of God and with the love of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). Our God is the God of peace and the author of peace (Romans 15:33; 1 Corinthians 14:33).
Trust and faith in GodMost controversy regarding the Trinity can be settled with the knowledge of the foundational truth of God.
1. God is one God an there is none else. There is one God. The trinity does not teach three gods. The trinity teaches One God. The Holy Trinity confirms the threefold unity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as defined in the Word of God.
2. God's ways are past finding out. We are NOT to know all there is to know about God now. Anyone who says they know all about God is calling Him a liar, because God tells us in His word that His ways are past finding out.
Faith is believing that God is all that He is and all that He says that He is in His Word. God does not expect mankind understand all that there is about Him.
The fact that we do not know all things about God is explained in the Word of God - we are not to know all things now. God is not mankind. Mankind is not God. Mankind will never be God. God's ways are not our ways, and this is the perfect plan of God. We accept the will of God, we accept God's ways and not our ways, when we decide to believe in Him for our salvation. By accepting the gift of salvation from God, we lay down self, we surrender our live and our ways, for God's life and His way. Salvation is accepting through faith all the promises of God. Salvation is accepting that all that God says in His word is true. Partial faith is unbelief. We either have faith in all of God, or we have faith in none of God.
3. With God all things are possible. We are not to question how God can do this or do that, but we are by faith to believe that God is able to do all things. God has the greatest power, and there is nothing that God cannot do. Why did God reveal Himself to mankind in the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? God chose to reveal Himself to mankind this way, because He is God and because this is His perfect plan for mankind. We should never assume that there is a better way, than God's way of doing anything.
Tools of the devil - Ignorance of GOD's truthHate, strife, contention, offense, anger, confusion all come from the devil. The devil promotes hate and contention. The devil uses many things to separate men from God. For more information see - TOOLS OF THE DEVIL - Ignorance
One of the devil's tools is the Word of God. The devil uses our lack of knowledge of God's Word to trip us up. The devil loves to plant doubt in the minds of people, by using certain people to pervert and twist the Word of God, by twisting the Word of God, the devil will tempt you to disbelieve and sin against God. Satan has used the Words of God against mankind since the beginning. In the Garden of Eden the serpent tempted Adam and Eve both with a lie about what God really said. The devil has been using things and people to twist the Words of God into lies since the beginning of time. But if you know God's Word you will not be tricked into believing the lies of the devil. Jesus said that we err not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29). So many lies from the enemy would be stopped only if people were strong in the true Word of God. The devil used the Word of God with Jesus Himself in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). The devil tried to tempt Jesus with sin, using quotes straight from the written Word of God. Jesus, of course, saw through the lies, did not yield to the devil's temptations, and didn't fall for any one of the devil's tricks. The devil has used this practice of twisting God's words to entice man to sin, to separate man from God, since the beginning of time. In the garden of Eden, satan tempted Adam and Eve, using God's own words. If satan has enough wicked pride to think he could tempt Jesus into sin, you must know that he will not hesitate to tempt you, me, or anyone. The devil is our enemy, roaming the earth, looking for his prey, seeking people to steal from, lie to, trick, trap, bind, beat down, cheat, devour, and ultimately kill (1 Peter 5:8). The devil knows every Word of God, better than you or I do, and he knows exactly how to slant them just enough so that men believe his lies. The devil is the father of lies. The devil is very good at his craft of deceit, so good in fact that he is called the father of lies (John 8:44). There is no better liar than the devil. There is no truth in the devil, none. The devil is the eternal cesspool of lies, disease and wickedness. The devil and his followers are very good at perverting the word of God, twisting the word of God, misusing the Word of God along with their lies, as to disguise their lies with the truth of God. Any lie mixed with the truth is still a lie. Partial truth told in a lie is still a lie. Do not be deceived. There is only one truth - God's truth. There is no truth in lies and there are no lies in the truth. The devil is shameless, wicked, and desperate. Satan is shameless in that he will use any circumstance and any person to spread his lies to you. Satan is wicked in that his ultimate motive is hurt and kill you, any way he can, nothing or no one is off limits to him to take you down. Satan is desperate because he knows his time is almost over on this earth, that God will soon deal with him once and for all time. Satan has brought out every trick he knows, to make as many converts as he can, in the time he has left. All the devil needs is one word, one idea, one thought, that he can use to get you to doubt God. Doubting God is unbelief, and the devil knows that all the unbelieving will never see God (Revelation 21:8). The devil uses multitudes of false teachers today to inject doubt of God's word, so that men will follow satan's lies instead of God's truth. There have been devilish cults all throughout history that have twisted God's word to convert people to follow satan's lies, instead of God's truth, that ended in mass suicides. And unfortunately, many are being formed today, that will have the same end. Don't be fooled by satan. Don't fall into satan's trap. Know the Word of God for yourself, and you will be able to tell satan to get away from you - Satan, depart from me.
Submit to God, receive His salvation, and you will be able to resist the devil. Without knowing God personally and knowing God's word, your eternal life with God is in jeopardy. Submit yourself to God today, ask God to forgive your sins and to save you, ask Jesus to be your personal Lord and Saviour. God promises you, that if you call on His name you will be saved.
??? Not sure where to go from here ??? May we suggest . . .
