But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the
Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God who dwells in the hearts
of all faithful believers.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the
Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
The Holy Ghost is God, just as is the Father and the Son.
There is one Holy Ghost who is always the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ
Jesus, as they are all One.
The Holy Ghost is not limited to space or time. The Holy
Ghost is God and was with God in the beginning.
The Scriptures teach us that there is but One Living God, and
there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus Christ,
the Son), and the Holy Ghost, and that these three are One God.
Three that bear record in Heaven are One God, the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Ghost. God's truth is the only truth and He bears
record in Heaven that three are One.
God permanently set down, bore record in Heaven that the
Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, these three are One God.
God did not state that He was three gods, but confirms the
truth that there is only One true living God.
God did not state that He had three parts, but that there
are three that bear record in Heaven and these three are One. The
Father can be only God, the Word can be only God, and the Holy Ghost can be only
God, these three are one God.
God the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are one
Who is he that overcometh the world,
but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ;
not by water only, but by water and blood.
And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the
Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1 John 5:5-7 |
God said these three are one: The Father, the Word, and
the Holy Ghost. No other three are said to be one, but these three.
These three bear record in Heaven, they are in Heaven.
We know through scripture that Jesus Christ is the Word and
the only begotten Son of the Father.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full
of grace and truth.
John 1:14 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say
unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God. John 3:3,18 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1 Timothy 3:16 |
The Holy Ghost is the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the gift
of God given to all who come to God in faith.
The Comforter
The Holy Ghost is the Comforter who:
- Teaches us all things
- Enables us to remember all things that God has said
- Abides with us forever
- Can only be received by the children of God
- Dwells with us and in us
- Sheds the love of God abroad in our hearts
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the
Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
The Spirit of Truth
The Holy Ghost, the Comforter, is the Spirit of Truth, the
Spirit of God the Father.
But when the Comforter is come,
whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:26 |
The Holy Ghost is the gift
Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:16-17 And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts
by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 5:5 And we are his witnesses of these things;
and so is also the Holy Ghost,
whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Acts 5:32 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your
spirit,
which are God's.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 |
The Holy Ghost was sent to us by Jesus to all
mankind from God the Father in Heaven.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:26 Nevertheless I tell you the truth;
It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you;
but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:7 |
The Holy Ghost was sent down to us from Heaven
above (1 Peter 1:12).
All good things come from our Father God above in
Heaven (James 1:17).
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38 |
We can all receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, by the
grace of God through faith to salvation (Ephesians 2:8).
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved.
Romans 10:13 |
Who is the Holy Ghost given
to by God?
The children of God receive the Holy Ghost. Only the
saved in Christ Jesus can receive the Holy Ghost.
Them that obey God
And we are his witnesses of these things;
and so is also the Holy Ghost,
whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Acts 5:32 |
All who obey God are given the Holy Ghost from God (Acts
5:32). By receiving the salvation of God we obey God and become the
children of God (Galatians 3:26). We all receive the salvation of God the exact same way, by
God's grace through faith in Jesus to salvation (Ephesians 2:8).
Who cannot receive the
Holy Ghost from God?
The lost and unbelieving world cannot receive the Holy Ghost. The
unsaved world does not receive the Holy Ghost from God, because they don't see
God and choose not to know God.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:16-17 |
The unbelieving choose not to receive God, which is the
unpardonable sin.
We are either with God or without God. We either choose
to seek God or we choose to live life our own way. We either take God
serious, or we don't.
We choose to believe in God or we don't. Believing in
God is each person's choice. Receiving the gifts of God is each person's
choice. God never forces Himself on anyone. We come to God by our
own choice, we are gifted free will by God to choose Him. And His desire,
His will, is that everyone choose Him, that you Him, that everyone He created to
come to Him, to let Him love you and show you a better life than you could ever
imagine.
God promises to give you and anyone who comes to Him and asks
Him for His salvation, His Holy Spirit, to comfort you and guide you to Him.
Coming to God is required to receive the gifts of God.
You must come to God in faith that God alone can save you and deliver you from
sin and death, in order to receive His gifts of eternal life and His gift of His
Holy Spirit.
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the
earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isaiah 45:22 |
God is everywhere. There is no place hidden from God.
God dwells in His Heavenly Kingdom and in the hearts of all His children.
God is omnipresent, present everywhere.
The Holy Ghost is in Heaven and is in the hearts of faithful believers
of Christ Jesus.
The Holy Ghost is with the Father and the Son
The Holy Ghost is with God the Father, and the Word (Jesus),
because these three are one in the same.
For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the
Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1 John 5:7 |
God is these three that bear record of Himself in
Heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost and have always
been with each other in one.
The Holy Ghost dwells with us and in us
The Holy Spirit dwells in all faithful believers of Christ
Jesus
The Holy Spirit is in our hearts.
And hope maketh not ashamed;
because
the love of God is
shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 5:5 |
The Holy Ghost, the Comforter may abide with us forever.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:16-17 |
The Holy Ghost lives inside of all of God's faithful children.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in
your spirit, which are God's.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 |
The Holy Ghost is inside the believer's bodies. Our body is the temple
of the Holy Ghost
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:19 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by
the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
2 Timothy 1:14 |
The Holy Ghost is to dwell in all people so that:
- We can have boldness, confidence, assurance of our
salvation
- We can have a right relationship with God
- We can be with God now and for all eternity
- We can have the peace of God that passes all
understanding
- We can be comforted us in this life,
- We can learn the things of God, His truth and His ways
- We can discern good from evil
- We can have joy
- We can have the power of God to overcome
The will of God is for all people to have the Holy Ghost dwell
in them.
To be where God made us to be, which is with Him for eternity,
is why the Holy Ghost must dwell in us.
To be with God for all eternity we must have the Holy
Ghost dwelling in us. We receive the Holy Ghost when we receive the salvation of
God. Salvation is a current condition, not a past condition. We are
to work out our own salvation, each day of our lives. We must have the Holy
Ghost dwelling in us, living in us, alive in us to see God. Only through a
working salvation, a living faith, do we have a current relationship with God,
do we have the gift of God, eternal life.
Through faith in God to salvation, we receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost, who is our Comforter. Our comfort comes from the Holy Ghost.
We are comforted in this life by the Holy Ghost.
Salvation is not forced or given to just anyone, we must come
to God and believe in God. We are all saved the exact same way, by the
Grace of God through faith in God, there is no other way.
Faith in God has always been a condition of salvation.
Faith in God will always be a condition of salvation.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ
Jesus.
Galatians 3:26 |
There is no salvation apart from faith in God.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he
that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
As long as we remain in the faith, as long as we have
faith in God, believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, we have the Holy
Ghost dwelling in us.
If we reject God, if we deny Jesus Christ as our Saviour and
Lord, if we choose to turn from the faith, we no longer have the indwelling of
the Holy Ghost.
Without the Holy Ghost there is no peace, no comfort, no hope,
and no salvation.
The salvation of God is a choice. We choose to
accept the salvation of God through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and
Saviour. Eternal life, the salvation of God is the gift of God, given to
all who come to God and believe in Him for the salvation of their soul.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Salvation is not a day we say some spiritual words, but
salvation is a lifetime journey to God living and remaining in the faith of
Christ Jesus.
Salvation is not forced on anyone. God has never forced
anyone to accept His free gift of salvation. God will never force anyone
to take His salvation. Salvation is a choice we must each make by
ourselves. No person can or has ever been forced to accept the salvation
of God, because the salvation of God is a gift from God, and must be chosen and
accepted into our heart ourselves. No one can receive the salvation of God
for someone else, because the gift of God is asked for and received by each
person from God personally.
Eternal life and eternal peace are found in God alone, by
faith through the power of the Holy Ghost which is in Christ Jesus. The
Holy Ghost keeps us in the faith by reminding us of who we are in Christ Jesus.
The faithful children of God have the Holy Ghost dwelling
inside of them. The Holy Ghost gives us comfort in this life and takes
us to God after this life. This world is not the believer's home, for our
conversation is in Heaven, our eternal home is with God in His kingdom.
One day we will depart this earth, we will depart our flesh
and bones bodies, our spirit will be forever with the Lord.
Our bodies will one day be transformed, resurrected by the
same God who raised up Jesus from the dead, the Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost
will quicken our mortal bodies by His Spirit, the Holy Ghost which dwell inside
every faithful believer.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up
Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 8:11 |
Jesus was with the Holy Ghost always. Jesus was
of the Holy Ghost from the very beginning when He took on His human form.
Jesus has always been of the Holy Ghost, and is with Him now.
There was not a time in which Jesus was not with the
Holy Ghost, because there has always been three which bear record in
Heaven, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost - and these
three are one (1 John 5:7).
God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost have always been
filled with each other, because they are one, one inseparable, one
indivisible, one all together Holy Jehovah God Almighty, the Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end, the first and the last, One Most High God, there is
none other, none else.
Jesus was conceived in the flesh of the Holy Ghost
God incarnate, God in the flesh, Jesus Christ was formed by
the Holy Ghost in the womb of a virgin named Mary.
And the angel answered and said unto her,
The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing
which shall be born of thee shall be called Son
of God.
Luke 1:35 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as
his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found
with child of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:18 But while he thought on these things, behold,
the angel
of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream,
saying, Joseph, thou son of David,
fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:
for that which is conceived in her is
of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:20 |
Jesus was filled with the Holy Ghost even from his mother's womb.
For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord,
and
shall drink neither wine nor strong drink;
and he shall be filled with the Holy
Ghost,
even from his mother’s womb.
Luke 1:15 |
The Son of God, who is the Word of God, has always existed.
Jesus has always existed with God the Father and with the Holy Ghost.
The Son of God has always been. The Son of God has
always been with the Holy Ghost, and with God the Father.
When Jesus was sent to the earth, He came forth from Heaven to the earth, to become the Saviour of the world,
to be manifest in the flesh, so that He could walk in the flesh in the form of
man.
God was manifest in the flesh, for us, so that we could
be saved (1 Timothy 3:16).
Jesus in the flesh was filled with the Holy Ghost, from
the moment of conception by the Holy Ghost, in His mother's womb.
Holy Ghost descended like a dove on Jesus
Now when all the people were baptized,
it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized,
and praying, the heaven was opened,
And the Holy Ghost descended
in a bodily shape like a
dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said,
Thou art my beloved
Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Luke 3:21-22 |
We find in the scriptures of God, that there has not been a
time when the Son of God has not been with the Holy Ghost.
Jesus in the flesh was conceived of the Holy Ghost in
His mother's womb. The Holy Ghost never left Jesus in the flesh,
He was always with Him. The Holy Ghost has always been with Jesus.
God the Father and God the Holy Spirit have always been with Jesus. The word
of God reads that, These three are one: Father God, God the Son, and God the
Holy Ghost.
For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:
and these three are one.
1 John 5:7 |
No other three are one, only these three are one God:
The Father God, The Word who is the Son of God, and the Holy Ghost,
who is the Holy Spirit of God.
God the Father was well pleased with
Christ Jesus, His Son being baptized and the Holy Ghost
descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him.
The voice of God came down from Heaven, and said,
"Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased".
Jesus is our example to follow. God wants us all to be
baptized in water and in His Spirit, just like Christ was so long ago.
And like Jesus, when we are saved the Holy Ghost comes down
upon us, our gift from God above, to abide with us and in us, to comfort us and
guide us in the ways of Jesus so that we can live to God, live for God and walk
in faith all the days of our lives.
When we accept the gift of salvation from God, we are promised
by God to never be alone in this life as long as we remain faithful to God.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and,
lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20 |
After Jesus was baptized, He was full of the Holy Ghost
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost
returned from
Jordan,
and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Luke 4:1 |
Jesus has alway been full of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was
full of the Holy Ghost before He came to this earth to be born in the flesh, in
the form of mankind.
The word of God states that there is no variance, no changing
in God, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
We being human in the flesh are not always full of the Holy
Spirit. We must seek out God to be full of His Spirit.
If we drift away from God, if we decide to live in pursue sin,
instead of living in Christ Jesus, we are not in the fullness of God, we are in
the fullness of sin. Do NOT be deceived, God does NOT live in sin, God
does NOT abide inside of any wicked person, God does NOT live inside of any
person willfully and purposefully living in sin.
Thankfully, God is merciful and full of love and grace.
God promises that if we confess our sins and repent of our sins, that He is
faithful and just to forgive us of our sins.
Through repentance and forgiveness by the Grace of God we are
able to come back to God and once again receive the fullness of His Holy
Spirit.
God is never far from us, but we are at times far from
Him. God promises, that if we seek Him, that we will find Him.
Halleluiah!! Praise God for His mercy and grace!!
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me,
when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God,
thou shalt find him,
if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Deuteronomy 4:29 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and that seek him with the whole heart.
Psalm 119:2 |
Jesus foretold of the Holy Ghost
For the Holy Ghost was not given to men until after the
resurrection of Christ Jesus.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,
out
of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that
believe on him should receive:
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;
because
that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:38,39 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the
Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
Jesus breathes the
Holy Ghost onto His disciples
The Holy Ghost is gifted to men from God. The
Holy Spirit belongs to God alone and only God can gift you His Holy Spirit.
After His resurrection, Jesus meets with His disciples and
Jesus breathed on them and they received the Holy Ghost.
Then the same day at evening,
being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples
were assembled for fear of the Jews,
came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
And when he had so said,
he shewed unto them his hands and his side.
Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
Then said Jesus to them again,
Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me,
even so send I you.
And when he had said this,
he breathed on them, and
saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
John 20: 19-22 |
Our anthem, as children of the Most High God, should be
"Breathe on me, Lord Jesus".
Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost
and with power:
who went about doing good,
and healing all that were oppressed
of the devil;
for God was with him.
Acts 10:38 |
The perfect plan of God was to anoint Jesus of Nazareth with
the Holy Ghost and with power. The plan of God, the will of God has always
been, and all will be fulfilled that is written in the Holy Word of God.
This is important Scripture given to us to comfort us from
God, not to confuse anyone. Our God is not the author of confusion, but of
peace.
Only through faith to salvation can we see the miraculous
wonderful mystery of God's ways, His will, and His plan. Only through
faith in Christ Jesus are we made the children of God and adopted into the
family of God. Only through faith in all of who God is can we come to the
knowledge of His truth.
God in the flesh, the Son of God and the Son of man, Jesus of
Nazareth, was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power, by God, because God
was with Him.
God is able to do all things, anything that He wants.
God promises to fulfill, do, everything He said that He would in His Word.
God was able to manifest Himself in the flesh, in the likeness
of man, God was able to come to this earth from Heaven, formed into flesh inside
the womb of a virgin by the Holy Ghost, birthed in an earthly mankind form,
because absolute nothing is impossible with God.
God the Father anointed His Son, Jesus of Nazareth, with the
Holy Ghost and with power. This is the working of God alone, by God, for
God, and with God.
Why was this anointing required if Jesus already had the
Holy Ghost? Because this was the perfect plan of God. We are not
to second guess the reasons why God does what He does, but we are to believe God
is God and we are to accept God does all things for our good (Romans 8:28) and
trust in Him completely by faith in everything that He does.
Every Word of God written in God's Word was written on purpose
- every jot and tittle (Matthew 5:18) - everything written will be
fulfilled by God for His Glory.
Jesus' life was a pattern for mankind, written by God
before the foundations of this earth were created. Jesus was manifest in
the flesh, so that He could live in the flesh, just like we do with all its
temptations, and show us how to overcome the flesh. Jesus was baptized to
show us how we are to be baptized, no one is above being baptized in water.
Jesus was anointed by the Holy Ghost to show us how we are to be anointed by the
Holy Ghost, receive the Spirit of God when we receive His salvation. Jesus
suffered and was persecuted while living on this earth to show us how to suffer
and be persecuted defending the truth of God. Jesus died on His cross to
show us how to die to sin for a greater glory. Jesus resurrected Himself
from the grave to show us He has power over the grave and death and how we too
can have power over death through faith in Jesus and how we will be resurrected
to new life, receive everlasting life, one day soon, by placing our faith and
trust in Him.
Our life's purpose is be conformed into the image of Christ
Jesus.
God blesses all of His children with all spiritual blessings
(Ephesians 1:3).
God gifts His children with love, salvation, peace,
comfort, help, wisdom, knowledge, truth, strength, mercy, grace, faith,
assurance, hope, security, inheritance of His Kingdom, happiness, a sound mind,
contentment, joy, happiness, laughter, friendship, victory over sin and death,
and eternal abundant life.
Every good gift is from above, comes down from God the
Father in Heaven (James 1:17).
Comfort
Everlasting comfort comes from God, none else.
The Holy Ghost is the Comforter, who was sent by Jesus,
proceeded from God the Father, so that we might have everlasting comfort.
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth;
and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people,
and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
Isaiah 49:13 I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;
Isaiah 51:12 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:16-18 Then had the churches rest throughout all
Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified;
and walking in the fear of the Lord,
and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Acts 9:31 But when the Comforter is come,
whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:26 |
Power
The Holy Ghost gives us power, enabling us to abound in hope,
and be filled with all joy and peace in believing. There is no power but
the power of God.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing,
that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13 |
The Love of God
The Holy Ghost sheds abroad the love of God in our
hearts.
And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is
shed abroad
in our hearts by the Holy Ghost
which is given unto us.
Romans 5:5 |
The love of God enables us to love, to love God, to love
ourselves, and to love others. We can do nothing without the love of God.
Loving God is the purpose of our life. Sharing the love
of God with others is how we show God how much we love Him.
Help in weakness
The Holy Ghost helps our infirmities.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be
uttered.
Romans 8:26 |
Helps us overcome sin
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:
but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:13 |
By abiding in Christ through the Spirit we are empowered to
put to overcome sin.
Makes intercession for us
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27 |
God knows us and knows that sometimes our heart is so broken
and weak that we have no words to plead to God, this is when the Spirit Itself
makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
God promises His children when we do not have the words
to pray as we want or should, that His Spirit will intercede for us,
according to the will of God. Praise the Lord!!
How wonderfully blessed we are in Christ!!
Guides us
The Holy Ghost leads us to God and the things of God.
The faithful children of God are led by the Spirit of God, led by His will, not
our own will.
The Holy Ghost guides us throughout this life and into the
next life, eternal life with God.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God.
Romans 8:14 |
Assures our salvation in God
Believers can know without a shadow of a doubt that
they are God's by the assurance given to us from the Holy Ghost.
Scripture tells us all that we are the children
of God, because the Spirit of God Itself tells our spirit when we have
received the salvation of God. There is no doubt.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that
we are the children of God:
Romans 8:16 |
I know that I am God's because I have confirmation in my
spirit that I am a child of God from the Spirit of God Himself. There is
no greater reassurance and comfort than knowing that you are God's child
forever.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God.
Romans 8:14 |
The Holy Scriptures tell us all that we are the sons and
daughters of God, because we are led by the Spirit of God.
Gives us strength
The Holy Ghost strengthens us with might, with the power of
God by Christ Jesus.
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his
glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Ephesians 3:16 |
Instruction
The Holy Ghost, the Comforter, teaches us all things
pertaining to God.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
Peace
The Holy Ghost gives us peace, real peace, everlasting peace,
that no one or nothing in this world can match.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 |
Hope
The Holy Ghost gives us hope in Jesus and in eternal life.
Our hope of eternal salvation is kept in us, abides in us, by
the Holy Ghost which dwells inside of every believer.
That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by
the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 2 Timothy 1:14 |
Remembrance
The Holy Ghost reminds us of the things of God. When we
need God, He is with us. The Holy Ghost reminds us that God is with us and
will never leave us, and brings all things to our remembrance.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 |
The Holy Ghost is our teacher, our instructor, our helper and
our guide into all the things of God. The Holy Ghost reminds us who we are
in Christ (the children of God), directs our path, and shows us how to live in
faith to God every day.
Testifies Jesus Christ is LORD
The Holy Ghost confirms who Jesus is, that He is LORD of lords
and KING of kings, that He is all that He says He is in His word.
But when the Comforter is come,
whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 15:26 |
The Holy Ghost testifies Christ Jesus, assuring our
hearts without a doubt Jesus Christ is LORD, the Saviour of the world, the
Bright and Morning Star, the first born of creation, the Resurrection and the
Life, the Truth, and the only Way to everlasting life.
Because the Holy Ghost gifts us with new vision to see the
truth of God, to see Jesus, we too can testify that Jesus Christ is Lord by the
Holy Spirit who lives in us (1 Corinthians 12:3).
Sanctification
We are sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the
Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles
might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:16 |
Security
We are kept secure in our salvation by the Holy Ghost.
The assurance of who we are in Christ is kept secure in us by the Holy Ghost.
The God of all comfort, comforts us in ALL our tribulation.
Through the comfort of the Holy Ghost, we are given the
ability to comfort other people who are in any trouble.
God blesses us to be a blessing to others. We are
to share the love that God gifts us with others. God
shows us mercy, for us to show others mercy. God comforts us, to be a
comfort to others. God gives His grace to us, so we can share it with
others.
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith
we ourselves are comforted of God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 |
We
are to be overflowing with the comfort and joy of God. We are to be filled with the comfort of God,
so others will see our joy in Christ and ask how they too can be saved.
Great is my boldness of speech toward you,
great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort,
I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
2 Corinthians 7:4 |
Be of good comfort.
Finally, brethren, farewell.
Be perfect, be of good comfort,
be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11 |
Our God who loves us comforts our hearts. Comfort is
found only through the love of God, our Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God,
even our Father, which hath loved us,
and hath given us everlasting consolation
and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts,
and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 |
John the Baptist
prophecies the Holy Ghost
In those days came John the Baptist,
preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:
but he that cometh after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Matthew 3:1-2;11 I indeed have baptized you with
water:
but he shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Mark 1:8 John answered, saying unto them
all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am
not worthy to unloose:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Luke 3:16 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with
water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending,
and remaining on him,
the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
John 1:33 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be
baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:5 |
We are to be baptized in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, because this is the perfect will
of God concerning His gift of everlasting salvation.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway,
even unto the end of the world.
Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20 |
We are baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and
of the Holy Ghost, because there are three which bear record in Heaven, and
these three are one (1 John 5:7).
Without believing that God is God and that He is all
that He says that He is in His word, you cannot please God and cannot receive
His gift of eternal salvation (Hebrews 11:6).
We must believe God is all He is, we must come to Him
in faith that He is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and that these three -
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - bear record and are one, the One True Living
Jehovah Almighty God in Heaven.
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since
ye believed?
And they said unto him,
We have not so much as heard
whether there
be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them,
Unto what then were ye baptized?
And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
Then said Paul,
John verily baptized with the baptism of
repentance,
saying unto the people,
that they should believe on him
which should
come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this,
they were baptized in the name of
the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them,
the Holy
Ghost came on them;
and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 19:2-6 |
How do we know
if we have received the Holy Ghost?
Scripture tells us that we receive confirmation from the
Spirit of God directly to our spirit that we are saved, that we are a child of
God.
This communication of Spirit to spirit is our assurance of our
eternal salvation and is our comfort and our hope.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the
Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that
we are the children of God:
Romans 8:16 |
God gives all His children blessed assurance that they are His
own.
God says that we are the children of God,
not that we might be or that we will have to wait and see or that
we will only know after we die, but that we are now,
today, the children of God and forever His if we remain in the faith.
God is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3).
God gifts all His children with the comfort of knowing that we are His in
Christ. As long as we abide in Christ, we are God's children
(1 Corinthians 3:23; Galatians 3:26).
It wouldn't be much of a life to live, if we were not given
assurance of our eternal salvation today. We couldn't very well call God,
the God of all comfort, if He didn't comfort us in all things and assure us of
our life with Him (eternal salvation) after we die on this earth.
We know we have received the Holy Ghost, because the Spirit
itself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee,
because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy
