 Abominations

This is a Bible study on Abominations.

 

Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from abominations.  Ezekiel 14:6

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.  Titus 1:16

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.  Revelation 21:8

 

No one is exempt from the promises of GOD.  We must all repent from sin or perish.

God promises to help all people who seek Him for help.

God promises that we can all overcome sin in our lives.  There is no sin greater than God.  God has all power and He has the power to save you.

God desires all people to be where He created us to be, which is with Him for eternity.

GOD IS LOVE.  God loves people but hates sin.  God hates all sin.  God does not condone any sin for any reason.


 


What is an abomination?

 

The dictionary defines an abomination as something worthy of extreme disgust or hatred.

God defines an abomination as all that do unrighteously (Deuteronomy 25:16).

An abomination to the Lord is:

  • All who do abominable acts (Psalm 14;1; 53:1)

  • work abomination (Psalm 14:1; Revelation 21:27)

  • those who commit abominations (Psalm 14:1; 53:1)

  • one who justifies the wicked and wickedness

  • one who condemns the just (Proverbs 17:15)

  • using graven images of any gods (Deuteronomy 7:25; Ezekiel 18:12),

  • making any graven or molten image of any gods (Deuteronomy 27:15),

  • the froward disobedient (Proverbs 3:32, 11:20);

  • bringing an abomination into your house (Deuteronomy 7:26),

  • cross dressing with purpose of being the opposite sex (Deuteronomy 22:5),

  • wickedness (Proverbs 8:7);

  • all who live to commit sin; all who drink in sin like water (Job 15:16; Psalm 53:1)

  • the sacrifice of the wicked (Proverbs 15:8; 21:27; Isaiah 1:13);

  • way of the wicked (Proverbs 15:9);  the thoughts of the wicked (Proverbs 15:26);

  • the disobedient person's prayer (Proverbs 28:9)

  • divination, astrology, witchcraft, enchanter, charmer, consulter with familiar spirits, wizard, or necromancer (Deuteronomy 18:10-12),

  • proud look, lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that run to mischief, a false witness speaking lies, those who sow discord among brethren (Proverbs 6:16-19);

  • lying lips (Proverbs 12:22);

  • divers weights, divers measures, a false balance, cheating others (Proverbs 11:1; 20:10, 23; Micah 6:10);

  • following, serving, worshipping other gods, idols, ways and customs of those who follow other gods (Deuteronomy 18:9; 17:3; Leviticus 18:30; 2 Chronicles 15:8; Jeremiah 44:3-5);

  • lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries (1 Peter 4:3)

  • all who say there is no God (Psalm 14:1; 53:1)

  • all who are disobedient to God (Titus 1:16)

  • the proud in heart (Proverbs 16:5)

  • all who profess they know God, but don't live to God (Titus 1:6)

The above are all an abomination to the Lord.  All who do unrighteously are an abomination to the Lord God.

But the fearful, the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

 

What if I am still unsure if something I am doing is an abomination or not, what should I do?  The Word of God is detailed and covers what is sin and what is not sin, but if you still have a question about something, ask God.  Talk to God about it.  God always answers every prayer.  If you are still unsure about it, do without it When in doubt, do without.  We need very little to survive, God, food and water, clothing and shelter, these are the essentials.

 


Why did GOD give us lists of abominations?

God defined abominations in His word:

1.  Because He loves us

2.  For our benefit

3.  To help us

4.  So that we will know what they are so we can avoid them

5.  So that we will deny them and be with Him

God created us to be with Him.  Sin prevents us from being with God.  God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to be the propitiation for our sin, so that through Christ Jesus we can be with God for all eternity.

God created us and desires us to be where He created us to be, which is with Him for all eternity.

 

All that do unrighteously are an abomination.

God says that ALL people who do unrighteousness are an abomination to God.

For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.  Deuteronomy 25:16

The path of God, the commandments of God, the Word of God is righteousness.  The way of the Lord is righteousness. 

The opposite of the way of the Lord is unrighteousness.

 

All unrighteousness is sin.

We know through scriptures that ALL unrighteousness is SIN.

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.   1 John 5:17

The sin of unbelief in God to salvation is the sin unto death.  Unbelief separates anyone from God for eternity.

Knowing what is right and doing what is wrong is sin. 

God says that all unrighteousness is sin, any unrighteousness is sin.

Do not be deceived, a "little sin" is still sin, in the eyes of God, any sin is sin.

Knowing the commandments of God and disobeying them is unrighteousness.  Disobedience is sin.   We must follow the will of God, not the will of sin, not the will of self.  Knowing the will of God and disobeying Him is unrighteousness.

Not obeying God is disobedience.

Disobedience toward God is unrighteousness.  Unrighteousness is disobedience.  Unrighteousness is sin against God Almighty. 

 

All sin is against God.

Unrighteousness is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.  All sin is an abomination unto our LORD GOD.

God says, all that do unrighteously are an abomination unto HIM.

Are you doing anything unrighteously?  Are you sinning against God?  Are you NOT ceasing from sinning against God?  Then God says you are an abomination unto Him.

We either stand with God and do righteously, or we stand against God and do unrighteously.  All acts of sin are against God.  All acts of unrighteousness is against God.  When we sin, we choose to forsake, deny, turn against the way of the Lord.  The Lord God never condones any sin, not for any reason, no exceptions.  The ways of the Lord always align with His Word. 

Sin always hurts someone.  Sin always has consequences.  Sin separates anyone from God.

We must repent of all sin, turn from all sin, to have a right relationship with God.

Get right with God today!!  No one is promised a tomorrow.

Once you are dead it is too late to receive forgiveness from sin from God.  There are not any second chances after death.  You must get right with God today!!  The relationship you have with God while you are alive will be the relationship with God after you are dead.   You must receive the salvation of God today, while it is today, after you die there is no hope for salvation.

If you are NOT right with God and you are still breathing, then there is still hope for you.  Do not delay!!  

Get right with God today.  Ask God to forgive you of your sins AND repent from all sins, stop sinning, cease from sinning against your Lord, and He promises to forgive you of your sins.

Salvation is gifted from God to the living, not the dead.  Our Lord is the God of the living, not the dead (Mark 12:27; Luke 20:38). 

Only while we are alive and breathing are we able to accept the salvation of the God of the living.  If we die without the salvation of God, then we have chosen to be eternally separated from God.  Human death is not the end but the beginning of eternity, and we will either spend eternity with God or without God, based on the choice that we make while we are alive on this earth.  God promises that there will be no decision to accept His salvation after death.

 

The abominable are separated from God.

The end of sin is eternal death, which is eternal separation from God.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Do not be deceived.  The wages of sin - the end of a lifetime lived in sin - is eternal death. 

The abominable, the unbelieving, the unrighteous, the wicked, the unrepentant, are promised by God to have their part in the lake of fire that burns forever, which is hell.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

All unbelieving, all the abominable will be eternally separated from God, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, the second death.


What do all abominations have in common?

All abominations have these things in common:  All abominations harm you; all abominations are sin; all abominations are against God; all abominations are prohibited by God and His children; abominations control those without the salvation of God; all abominations separate you from God; all abominations separate you from spending eternity with God; all abominations have consequences; God is greater than any abomination; through faith in Jesus Christ you can be forgiven of any and all abominations; with the salvation of God you can overcome any abomination; through Jesus Christ you can overpower, conquer, be released from any abomination; all abominations are powerless to those who abide in Jesus; and no one can live in Christ Jesus and live abominably

 

1.  All abominations harm you

God is love (1 John 4:8, 16).   God is faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9; 10:13).  God is gracious and merciful (2 Chronicles 30:9).  God is great (Job 36:26).  God is holy (Psalm 99:9).  God is for me (Psalm 56:9).  God is righteous (Daniel 9:14).  God is true (John 3:33; 2 Corinthians 1:18).

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

God is not the god of the dead, but the God of the living, the God of life (Matthew 22:32; Mark 12:27; Luke 20:38).  God desires all good things for us.  God desires love, peace, mercy, goodness for us, for all the days of our lives, and desires us to have a future with Him in His eternal Kingdom.

God gave us written instruction to guide us to Him, because He loves us and wants to be with us always.  God desires us.  God loved us first, before we loved Him (1 John 4:19).  God moved the heavens and earth so that we could be with Him forever.

God had abominations written down in His Word because abominations harm us.  God loves us and desires us to be where He created us to be, which is with Him now and for all eternity.  Sin harms us because sin separates us from God.  Any sin separates anyone from sin.  No one is exempt from the promises of God and God promises everyone who remains in their sin will perish in their sin. 

We either release ourselves from sin and turn to God; or we release ourselves from God and turn to sin, the choice is ours alone.  

All abominations harm you because all abominations are against God, against the ways of God, against the truth of God, against the word of God.  All abominations harm you because no one attached to any abomination will live with God in eternity (Revelation 21:8).

 

2.  All abominations are sin

All sin is unacceptable to God.  All abominations are unacceptable to God.  All abominations are without judgment and punishment from God.  All abominations will be dealt with by God.  All abominations are inexcusable to God.

Do not follow the moral compass of the world, that condones, excuses and permits sin.  The world is not the final judge, God is the judge of mankind.  God promises that you will reap what you sow.  God promises that corruption will not inherit incorruption.  All who choose a life lived to self and sin will receive their just reward from God in the end.

If you do not understand what sin is, or what God calls abominations, now is the time to learn about them.  God states that all unrighteousness is sin (1 John 5:17).  Not a few, not some, but all unrighteousness is sin. 

 

3.  All abominations are against God

All sin is against God.

Unrighteousness is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.  All sin is an abomination unto our LORD GOD.

God says, all that do unrighteously are an abomination unto HIM.

4.  All abominations are prohibited by God and His children

 

5.  Abominations control those without the salvation of God

 

6.  All abominations separate you from God

The abominable are separated from God.

The end of sin is eternal death, which is eternal separation from God.

7.  All abominations separate you from spending eternity with God

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

There is not one sin that God will not forgive, if we repent of that sin and ask for His forgiveness.

Every repentant sinner will be forgiven.  If we confess our sin to God, He promises to forgive our sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   1 John 1:9

Nothing you can do or have done is too much for God to forgive.  Ask Him to forgive your sins and He promises He will.

 

8.  All abominations have consequences

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

All sin that is committed is against God and all sin has consequences.

 

 

9.  God is greater than any abomination, there is no power greater than God's power

God is truth.  Sin's foundation is a lie.  From the first sin committed to the last, all sin is based in fear and lies.  When one believes in any other truth than the truth of God, they are deceived into believing a lie.  Every sin committed today is built upon a sin that was built upon a lie of yesterday, all the way back to the first sin.  There is a snowball effect to sin, as it rolls along it becomes bigger and bigger, compounding sin upon sin, growing and consuming all in its path.  Many people have lived with so much sin all their lives that they think that there is no way out.  God promises everyone a way out of sin, any sin, at any time in their life.

The lie of sin is its fear - fear that there sin is just too big, too much for anyone to handle, even God.  Many people believe this lie, that their sin is too big, too horrible, too bad, too awful for God to forgive.  God is able to forgive all sin and God is able to forgive all abominations committed against Him. 

God is greater than sin.  God overcame sin and conquered sin.  There is not any sin or any abomination greater in power than God.  God holds ultimate power.  God is greater than any abomination.  There is no greater power than the power of God (Romans 13:1).

God is able to destroy every sin and every abomination attached to you.  God is able to set you free from any sin or any abomination that has you bound.

No one is able to set themselves free from sin, you need God.  God saves and God sets people free from sin.

 

 

10.  Through faith in Jesus Christ you can be forgiven of any abomination

Jesus Christ claimed victory over sin and death on His cross.  By placing your faith and trust in Him as your Lord and Saviour you can be forgiven of all sin and set free from all sin.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

 

11.  With the salvation of God you can overcome any abomination

God is greater than anyone and anything, including any sin.  With God we can overcome anything.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4

 

12.  Through the power of the blood of Jesus you can overpower and turn from all abominations

 

13.  All abominations are powerless to those who abide in Jesus

There is no real true power but the power of God (Romans 13:1).

 

14.  No one can live in Christ Jesus and live abominably

 

 


Who are the abominable?

The abominable are all people who do abominations.  All who work abominations, commit abominations are the abominable.

What exactly classifies a person as being abominable?  The Scriptures tell us that all people who do unrighteousness are the abominable.

For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 25:16

As human beings, we like to categorize the people in this world by saying that: they are poor, they are rich, they are famous, they are successful, they are wicked, they are evil, they are good, they are righteous, they are unrighteous, they are murderers, they are thieves, they are lazy, they are strong, they are weak, the list can go on and on.

We see through scripture that God's definition of unrighteousness - sin - is different than ours. 

We think we are better than certain other people, for discussion let's say murders, but God says that all people who do unrighteousness are abominable.

All sin - is sin - to God.  God does not see degrees of sin as we do.  God places the liar on the same level with the murderer (Revelation 21:8).  God says if you have lust in your heart, that you are an adulterer (Matthew 5:28).

Sin is conceived in the heart.  The intention of sin is first determined in one's own heart.  A sin may be an act or a thought to act out sin, both are sin.

Don't be deceived into believing that the thought of sin is any less than the act of sin, because God tells us in His word that sin is conceived in the mind, you can commit sin with your thoughts, just as well as with your physical body.  Acting out sin in your mind is still sin even if you didn't physically perform the actual sin.   Watching someone else sin, intentionally viewing another's sin, is the same in God's eyes as if you were performing the sin with them.  This is why the Word of God gives us instruction to guard our hearts, to guard our minds, to avoid all appearance of sin, not to view sin, and to not place ourselves in view of any sin.

All that do unrighteously - within their minds and thoughts or act out physically - are an abomination to God.

 

 

The abominable are ALL people who do unrighteousness.

All people who do unrighteously are called an abomination unto the LORD God.  All people that do unrighteously are abominable.

Who is an abominable person in the eyes of God?  People who drinketh iniquity like water, those who sin continuously, purposefully and willfully sin, those who do NOT cease from sinning against God are all abominable.

Sin does not satisfy.  Sin cannot satisfy anyone.  People who sin purposely can never get enough, this is the life of sin.  There is never enough sin for the sinner.  The next sin will not quench the sinner's lust for sin.  One who sins repeatedly is never satisfied, because sin cannot satisfy. 

How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?  Job 15:16

The well known definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.

People have a void in their lives and are led to believe the lie that if they commit a particular sin one more time that this time they will be satisfied.  Although their sin did not satisfy them yesterday they believe the lie again and falsely believe that today will be different and today they will receive satisfaction.

No matter how many times sin is committed, sin will never satisfy because sin cannot satisfy anyone.

People today frantically follow after sin, hoping today is the day that they will be satisfied.  People drink sin like water, ever pursuing sin but never able to quench their thirst.

 

 

The abominable are all people who say there is no God.

All people who are corrupt are abominable.  The wicked and corrupt, the deceived of the world, say there is no God.

Most of us at onetime in our lives have met someone who said there is no God.

All people who say there is no God are abominable.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.    Psalm 14:1

To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.    Psalm 53:1

Do not be deceived.  It doesn't matter what acts of kindness or social work that someone does, if they say that there is no God, they do not do good for anyone, as they are corrupt.  No one who says that there is no God does good. 

As believers we must align ourselves with the truth of God, not matter what is shoved into our faces in this world.  We either believe and follow the Word of God, or we believe and follow the lies of this world, no one can do both.

 

The abominable are all people who deny God.

All people who deny God are abominable.

God says in His scriptures, that not only saying that you deny God is denying Him, but ALSO by disobedience toward God. 

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.   Titus 1:16

Denying God is not only in words but in actions, God says by our disobedience to Him, we deny HIM.

God says that disobedience to Him is denying Him

We must know His word in order to obey Him.  It has never been more important than today, to know the truth of God's Word.  We are to have His Word imbedded into our hearts.  A day shouldn't go by when we do not read His Holy Word.  The Word of God must be learned and shared with one another.  We should be talking about God's Word, sharing His truth with one another, sharing His love, more that we do anything else in our lives.

 

The abominable are all people who do NOT obey God.

We not only deny God with our mouth, our words, but we deny God when we disobey Him.

The abominable may say that they know God, but the way they live their lives in sin and disobedience, they deny Him.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.    Titus 1:16

 

Abominable idolatries.

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:    1 Peter 4:3

Idols are abominable and so are the people who use idols, the idolaters who practice idolatry.

Worshipping other gods, which is idolatry is abominable.  Worshipping anyone or anything, other than the one true living God is idolatry.

Idolatry is not limited to worshipping graven images or using graven images, but is excessive attachment to anything.

All people who use graven images in worship are called idolaters.  The practice of using images in worship is called idolatry.

Idols and idolatry are an abomination to God.  Idolaters are abominable to God.

Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.  But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.    Jeremiah 44:4-5

So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.    Ezekiel 8:10

 

Do not be deceived, God expressly forbids the use of all graven images.  No one is allowed to use graven images in the worship of GOD.

 

Idols are an abomination to God.

God says that we are not to possess, have, make, own, worship, see, view, or desire any graven image of anything.

I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  Exodus 20:1-6

Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.  Leviticus 26:1

Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.  Deuteronomy 4:23

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:   Deuteronomy 5:8

The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.  Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.   Deuteronomy 7:25-26

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.  Isaiah 42:8

 

No idol or graven image can save anyone.   There is only One True Living God.  God is never in any graven image. 

God strictly prohibits the use of using graven images in any way in worship to Him.  Do not be deceived, if you are using graven images in your worship you are not worshipping the God of Abraham.  People who use graven images in worship or people who pray to graven images - any image of anyone or anything - are praying to a god that cannot save (Isaiah 45:20).

Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isaiah 45:20-21

Why does God prohibit the use of graven images?  God strictly prohibits the use of any graven images for any reason, because there is no God beside Him, there is no God other than God, a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Him (Isaiah 45:21).   God created mankind and God knows our weaknesses.  God knows exactly how our minds work because He created each and every mind.  God prohibits the use of graven images because He does not want anything to come between Him and us.  The perfect plan of the salvation of God is for man to come directly to Him, to directly seek Him, no one else, nothing else, use nothing else, requiring nothing but Jesus.  Do not be deceive we are the children of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).   Using graven images blocks, prohibits one from becoming a child of God.  One must repent of idolatry to receive the salvation of God.  One must forsake all graven images to receive the salvation of God.  We must reject, refuse, and repent of anything that comes between us and God. 

We are to follow God's Word and God's truth, not the commandments and doctrines of men.  We are to touch not, taste not, handle not (Colossians 2:21-22) - anything that is placed between us and God.

 

The abominable people are grouped with the unbelieving people, whose end is eternal death in hell.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.   Revelation 21:8

You do NOT want to be in the group of people who shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death, hell.

 


What does GOD call abomination?

Abominations are sins against God.  All unrighteousness is sin. 

An abomination is unlawful, evil, corrupt, unrighteous, disgusting, and hated by God.

All sin is against God.  All sin is sin, there is not little sin and big sin.

Abominations are unrighteous and all unrighteousness is sin

People who commit abominations will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.    1 John 5:18

 

We sin when we know what is right but we DO what is wrong against God.  Sin is against the word of God.  Sin is doing things that God said we are not to do.  Sin is disobeying God.

Sin is knowing the commandments of God, but disobeying themSin is knowing the will of God, what God wants us to do, but not doing the will of God.

Heaven is for those who DO the will of God.   The will of God is to obtain salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  The will of God is seeking God, following Christ Jesus, following after His righteousness, not following our own wills, not seeking out what we want to do.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.    Matthew 7:21

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.     1 John 2:17

We do the will of God by obtaining His salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

 

Lying lips

Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.    Proverbs 12:22

We are not to lie. 

We are not to lie about anything at anytime to anyone for any reason.  God takes lying very serious.  God calls lying lips an abomination.

God is truth and God desires that His children walk in truth above all else.  As believers of the most high God, we should never choose lies over truth under any circumstances.

The world sees nothing wrong with lying.  The world promotes lying in songs, entertainment, books, internet, television shows, celebrities, government.   Lying is justified by the world.

God hates lying.  God never condones lying for any reason.  God is truth.  Those who stand with God must stand in truth.  Those who love God, love truth and have no part in lying.

 

Sexual relations with any relative (other than your biblical legal spouse)

Nakedness with anyone other than your spouse is not permitted by God. To uncover nakedness is part of sexual relations to God.

None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.  The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness. The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.  Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness. Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.  Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.  Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.   Leviticus 18:6-19

Nakedness outside the realm of biblical legal marriage is an abomination to God.  Never take any part in nakedness that is inappropriate.  Dress modestly, don't show your nakedness to the world. 

Remember that viewing nakedness is the same as participating in inappropriate nakedness and is an abomination against God.  Magazines, television, movies, internet, video, cell phone, drawings, pictures, art, any viewing of nakedness is strictly forbidden in Scriptures and by the God of the Word.

 

Sexual relations with anyone else's spouse

Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.   Leviticus 18:6-20

(Yes, of course you are naked sometimes when you see your doctor, or are in the hospital, or with a caregiver, this is not the nakedness referred to here by God, and is not sin.)

Sexual relations with an animal

Perversion has existed since sin came into this world.  Perversion will continue until the end of the world. 

Bestiality is any human having any type of sexual relations with any animal and is forbidden by God.

And thou shalt not lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down thereto: it is confusion.  Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you;   Leviticus 18:23,24

 

Homosexuality

Sexual relations with the same sex is homosexuality.  The act of homosexuality is an abomination to God.

God hates the sin of homosexuality.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.    Leviticus 18:22

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.    Leviticus 20:13

Remember that the word of God reads that ALL unrighteousness is SIN, and unrighteousness will NOT enter the kingdom of God.

Those people who point to homosexuals as sinners against God, should look at their own selves.

Those who commit the sin of hate are called murderers by the word of God (1 John 3:15).  

 

Wearing opposite's sex clothing

Men wearing women's clothing or women wearing man's clothing, for the purpose of becoming like the opposite sex.

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.  Deuteronomy 22:5

God looks at our reason, our intent inside our heart.  We are never to judge one another, God is judge, God sees the intent of people's hearts.

This Scripture of course does not mean a woman cannot wear pants.  And this does not mean a man cannot wear a dress, if it is a man's dress, like in other countries, where the clothing is different.  A dress is not a man's attire in the U.S., but it is in other countries. 

Dress and undergarments for a woman serve a specific purpose, they are not to be worn by men. 

The scripture tells us that wearing the opposite sex's clothing that are customary to one's culture is forbidden.   In the United States it is not custom for a man to wear a woman's underwear and dress.

This means when you wear the opposite sex's clothes in order to appear and look like the opposite sex is an abomination.   Not when you wear a shirt, pant, or dress of the opposite sex out of necessity or poverty.

A man dressing up in woman's high heels and bra or petticoat, would be considered putting on a woman's garment, for the purpose of being a woman.

 

Do not commit any abominations

What abominations are permitted by God?  None.  We are not to commit any abominations.

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:   Leviticus 18:26

For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.   Leviticus 18:29

Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein:   I am the LORD your God.  Leviticus 18:30

No sin, no abominations is acceptable to God.  No one is exempt from the word of God, we must all abide by God's word.

There are no exceptions to the truth of God, the Word of God.

 

Desiring idols

The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.   Deuteronomy 7:25

Idolatry in any form is an abomination to God.  We are not to desire, own, have, use, or make any graven images of anything or anyone.  Idolatry will not be condoned by God for any reason or any circumstance.

You should be very careful what you attach yourself to in this world, because you may end up attached to it in the world to come.

Sin, idolatry, separates anyone from God and if not repented of will separate you from God for all eternity.

 

Idols in your house

Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.  Deuteronomy 7:26

Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have thy done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.  Deuteronomy 12:31

Remember an idol can be anything, a person, place, or thing.  Many people make television their idol, their computer, their cell phone, their games, their spouse, their children, their automobiles, their homes, their careers, their hobbies, the internet, anything can become an idol.

I heard of a church where the young people actually brought their video games and such and burnt them in a big fire because they had realized that these things were affecting their relationship with God and had become idols in their houses.

 

Anyone who makes idols

Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, they work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth in it a secret place.  And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.  Deuteronomy 27:15

And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:   Deuteronomy 29:17

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.  Deuteronomy 32:16

God knows that the person who manufacturers idols has his role in the practice of idol worship.  This is why it is forbidden to craft idols or to make them, because the makers of idols are presenting a way for another soul to fall.

If your job related to making graven images in any way, you need to find another job.  No one is excused or exempt from God's Word.

 

All that do unrighteously

For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.  Deuteronomy 25:16

All that do unrighteously are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

If we live in righteousness, then we are not doing unrighteously.

 

Self-pride, Liars, Murderers, Wicked imaginations, Mischief makers, Gossips, Insiters

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,  An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,  A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.  Proverbs 6:16-19

 

The wicked

Even a child knows that we are not to be wicked, so it is no surprise that the wicked are an abomination to the Lord

There are many interesting facts in these Scriptures.  If you notice most of these are from Proverbs.  If you have never read Proverbs you really should.  It is straight forward advice how to live in faith to God, what is right and what is wrong in the eyes of the Lord.

Scriptures breaks it down further by stating not only are the wicked an abomination, but that their thoughts and their sacrifice are abominations. 

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.  Proverbs 15:8-9

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.  Proverbs 15:26

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? Proverbs 21:27

 

This is why we must be right with God before we can do right for God.   There is a false doctrine spreading this land that it doesn't matter how wicked you are, as long as you say you love God, or as long as you give money to causes, but this is not biblical.

It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. Proverbs 16:12

Leadership should be received with honor and administered with integrity and in truth.  We must consider who we elect for office, administration, government and rule.  We must pray and seek the Lord's guidance on all our choices.  When wicked people rule this is an abomination.  Leaders need the guidance of the one true Lord God. 

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. Proverbs 17:15

I find this Scripture interesting in that it joins BOTH those who justify the wicked with those who condemn the just.  God states that these are equally wrong, equally sin, and both equally abominations.

How do we justify the wicked?  By condoning wickedness and by participating in wickedness, including passively, we justify the wicked.  Remember the Scriptures are clear, you do not necessarily need to participate physically in sin to commit sin. 

DO NOT BE DECEIVED.  Watching sin is sin.  Watching wickedness is committing wickedness, just as if you had committed the act yourself.   

I am reminded of that childhood Sunday School song - be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, for the Father up above is looking down in love, oh be careful little eyes what you see.

More than ever, today we must put on the full armor of God every day (Ephesians 6:11), we must put on Christ so that we can resist sin's temptation.  Being consumed by sin is gradual, let a little in here, a little there, and soon you are drowning in filth. 

If you don't see anything wrong with wickedness, if you are passive toward sin and the evil of this world, then you need to get right with God today.  Do not wait.  It will not fix itself.   Sin is nothing you get over, you must get rid of it. 

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.  Proverbs 29:27

The just cannot stand sin because we put on Christ (Galatians 3:26-27) through salvation by His blood, we feel toward sin the way God does.

To keep sin pushed out of your life, fill it up with Christ, fill it up with God's Word, then there is no room for sin.

No one gets away with committing sin.  There is always a cost for sin. 

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.  Ezekiel 18:24

 

The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).  The end of a life lived to sin is death and eternal separation from God.  This is the promise of God to all people.  God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), if you reject His righteousness and turn away from Him, and take up with the wicked and abominations, you will die in your sin (Romans 6:16). 

Do not be deceived:  Who and what you attach yourself to in this world, will be exactly who and what you will be attached to in eternity.  No one who lives a life to sin, will be living with God for all eternity.  Unless you repent from sin and turn to God, follow Christ and His righteousness, you will be without God in the life to come, which is after this one.

 

The disobedient

One is either obedient or disobedient to God.  We either follow the will of God or we don't.  We either abide in Christ, in righteousness, or we don't.  We are either attached to Christ or we are attached to sin. 

No one can be disobedient to God and obedient to God at the same time, you are either one or the other.  No one can live in sin and be obedient to God, it doesn't work that way.  The Scriptures tell us that we can only have one master, and if sin is our master then God is not.

Disobedience is not obedience to God.  Disobedience is the opposite of obedience to God.   Obedience to God is following God, abandoning sin and self for Christ.

Froward is being stubborn and disobedient.

 

They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.  Proverbs 11:20

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but the secret is with the righteous.  Proverbs 3:32

The froward person says, "I will do it my way, no matter what the Bible says". 

When we accept God's free give of salvation we accept His leadership from that point of our life on.  The believer's life no longer belongs to him, but belongs to God.  Not my way, but His way.  Not my will, but His will be done.

You either follow God or follow yourself and follow sin, you cannot choose both, it is either one or the other.

 

Sacrifice of the wicked

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.  Proverbs 15:8

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?  Proverbs 21:27

 

The only sacrifice of the wicked that God will accept is self sacrifice, turning their whole life over to Him and accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

God will not accept any other sacrifice from the wicked.  Money, prayers, good works, nothing will be accepted as sacrifice from the wicked, nothing except themselves.

When we surrender all, and only when we give all our life to Christ, can we give God any other sacrifice.

 

Cheaters, thieves

A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.  Proverbs 11:1

Many businesses in biblical days were conducted with scales.  Some evil merchants would have false weights that would throw off the scales to their favor, cheating their customers, thus false balance.  Deceitful business practices.

A false balance means cheating and stealing from people.

Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.  Proverbs 20:10

Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD: and a false balance is not good.  Proverbs 20:23

The old saying is true, cheaters never win and winners never cheat

We do not conduct all business with weights and scales, but we do conduct business.  In all our business transactions, in the corporate world or the grocery store, we are to be fair and just.  We are to pay our taxes and pay our bills.  We are never to try and cheat anyone.

 

Wickedness

Wickedness is an abomination to our lips, so we always should speak the truth.

For the mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.   Proverbs 8:7

The mouth can get us into a lot of trouble.  God gave us a brain and we must use it before we speak.  We should never speak evil, or repeat the evil someone else has spoken. 

There are a lot of Scriptures regarding our tongue, our mouth, our lips, our voice.  We are to guard what we say, as we are first and foremost Ambassadors of Christ, as Christians we represent Him every day, first and always.

 

Thoughts of the wicked

Not only the ways and actions of the wicked an abomination to God, but their thoughts also.  We are not even to think wicked thoughts.

God knows ALL our thoughts.

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words. Proverbs 15:26

Only God can read our thoughts, no one else.  No one else created us and no one else has access.  God made us this way.

We must be mindful of our thoughts at all times.  The enemy uses many tools to trip us up and if he can present us with a wicked thought, he thinks he has won. 

The way to control what we think is in the Bible (as is everything else pertaining to this life).

Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  God tells us in His word that we have command over the enemy through Christ.  Christ defeated satan on His cross - It is finished (John 19:30).  Because of Christ and through Christ we cannot be defeated by satan as long as we abide in Christ.  We can overcome satan because Christ did.

God promises His own, that if we submit ourselves to Him, we can resist the devil and that the devil must flee from us (James 4:7).  This is awesome!  Praise the LORD!  

If you are not born again, you do not have Christ and do not have power to overcome the enemy.  Scripture tells us that you must be born again (John 3:7).   Don't delay, ask and receive the salvation of the Lord today.  No one is promised a tomorrow.

 

Wicked leaders

It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. Proverbs 16:12

Those who lead others need to be particularly cautious, because what they say and do, can influence 10, 100, 1,000 or millions of people.

 

People that justify the wicked and condemn the just

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. Proverbs 17:15

God says not only are the ones who commit the crime an abomination, but also those who go along with them are abominations.

 

An unjust man is abomination to the just; The way of the upright is abomination to the wicked.

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. Proverbs 29:27

Don't expect those without God to understand the believer's point of view.  People without the salvation of God do not have Christ Jesus in their life, they do not know God, they do not understand the ways of Christ.  Only the children of God can discern the spiritual things of God, because this is the way God has made it.

The believers way of living in Christ Jesus is an abomination to the wicked, just as the wickedness of this world and the wicked people who rule it are an abomination to believers,

This should not be a surprise, or even thought of as odd or weird, because the Scriptures tell us this is the way it is.

 

Pride

Proud in the heart - pride - is an abomination to the Lord.

Every one that is proud in the heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.  Proverbs 16:5

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. Proverbs 21:4

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  James 4:6

We might not think of pride as being an abomination to God, but He says it is.  Pride is a sin and an abomination to the Lord God.

As with all sin, we must forsake pride, we must repent of pride in our life, we must turn away from pride, we must purge pride from all areas of our lives.

 

Haters are an abomination

He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.  Proverbs 26:24,25

Be careful around haters that their disease does not get on you.  All haters are liars.  All haters try and disguise their hate with their version of the truth.  A partial lie is still a lie.  There is no truth in lies. 

People who hate, who promote hate, who distribute hate, spread hate like drugs.  They tempt you with the initial feel good or that it will help you in some way, but in the end it is toxic poison that will destroy you.

People who hate are rarely alone, because they incite others to hate who and/or what they hate.  Don't get caught up in their sin, keep away from haters.

 

The prayer of the disobedient

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.  Proverbs 28:9

 

Those that deny God by disobedient works

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.   Titus 1:16

 

 

That which is highly esteem among men

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.   Luke 16:15

Anything or anyone who is placed higher than God is an abomination in the sight of God.

Anything or anyone who is highly esteemed among people is abomination in the sight of God.

Can you think of anyone who is highly esteemed among men?  God says that these men or women who are highly esteemed among us are an abomination in HIS sight.

Only our LORD GOD Almighty is to be highly esteemed among men.

 

Do not believe the lies of the enemy.  Do not be deceived.  You either stand with God or you stand with the world view.   No one can live immoral and stand with God. 

There is a new kind of thinking going on today that as long as you think you are good that you are good.  As long as you say you are a Christian that you are.  These people share the believe that they do not need to obey God, they do not need to follow the ways of Christ, they do not need to abide by the Word of God, they do not need to obey the commandments of God.  Many people claim to be Christian, profess to know Jesus, who claim to be of the faith, who refuse to repent of sin, who believe that they are right with God because they say so.  These people have chosen to believe a lie.  These people are only deceiving themselves.  These people have chosen to conform faith to fit into their lives, the way they want to.  In this new way of thinking, these people conform God to their own image of what they think that He should be, they have God conform to their ideal image.  They remake God to fit their lifestyle. This is not what is written in the Word of God.

The Word of God reads that we must submit our lives to God fully, that we must surrender all to Jesus, that we must give up our way of life to receive new life in Christ Jesus.  God does not change His truth for anyone.  God does not change as He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Christianity is not conforming Jesus to fit your life, but allowing Jesus to mold you to conform to Him.

 


What is the worst sin?

Whose sin is worse?  Is the sin of a murderer worse than the sin of someone who hates?  Is the sin of same sex relations worse than the sin of lying?  What is the worst sin?

 

All sin is sin

God says if we commit one sin, that we commit all sin.  All sin is sin.   All sin is sin against God.

Sin is sin.  All unrighteousness is sin (1 John 5:17).  It doesn't matter what type of sin it is.  Those who sin are sinners and the wages of sin is death.

God commands everyone to repent of sin or perish.  God desires for every person He created to be with Him for all eternity.  God does not wish anyone to perish but all to come to repentance and accept His free gift of eternal life (2 Peter 3:9).

 

No respect of persons

God is no respecter of persons.   God doesn't think one person is better than another.  God loves you and God loves me.  God loves all the people that He created so much that He send His only begotten Son here to earth to pay the ransom for our sin and make a way for us all to be where God created us to be, which is with Him for all eternity.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.   Colossians 3:25

 

 

Examine your own sin

God says we are all to repent of our own sin.

We are to examine our own lives, not the lives of others.  We are not to judge each other as to who has the worst sin.   Many people get so involved in exposing other people's sin, that they forget to look at their own, neglecting and damaging their own relationship with God.

 

Judgment belongs to God

God is the judge, and He will judge the whole world one day, that includes everyone, the dead and alive, the just and the unjust, the lost and the saved.

No one is exempt from the judgment of God.

Some people get self-righteous and condemn those who sin, God says this is wrong. 

Who is without sin?   Jesus came across the same situation, when the people of a certain city were going to kill an adulterer for her sin. 

Jesus asked the people, "Whoever is without sin, cast the first stone" Of course no one could throw a single stone, because all the people there were guilty of sin.

We are not to throw stones at sinners, because we are not free from sin, not until the rapture, not until we receive our spiritual bodies, and not until we are taken to the kingdom of God, will we be totally sinless and fully holy.

The worse sin, the unpardonable sin is the sin of unbelief.

The end of sin is eternal death

The end of a life lived to sin is eternal death.

God is no respecter of persons.  Any sin is sin to God, whether it is telling a lie or committing adultery, or even murder.  If you are guilty of breaking one of the God's commandments, God says you are guilty of breaking them all.

All people who purposefully participate in sin, who willfully sin after knowing it is wrong, who plan sin, seek out sin, watch sin, will receive the reward of sin - eternal death.  No one is exempt from the promises of God.  God says that the wages of sin is death.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Romans 6:23

Unbelief separates anyone from God for eternity.  Only those who believe in God for the salvation of their souls through faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord will see God, will be with God, will live with God for all eternity.

 


Will abominations enter Heaven?

The Word of God specifically states that NO abomination will enter the Kingdom of God.  No sin will enter into the Kingdom of God. 

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.   Revelation 21:27

Whatever we attach ourselves to in this life, we will be attached to in the life to come.  This is why it is so important for you to detach yourself from sin today and attach yourself to Jesus, while it is today, while you are alive, so that when you die you will not be attached to sin, but you will be attached to Christ Jesus.

Only the children of God will enter the Kingdom of God.  If you are not a child of God you will not enter the Kingdom of God.  If you are without Christ Jesus you are without eternity with God.  Without Christ Jesus you will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.  We receive new life in Christ Jesus when we call to God and ask for His forgiveness of our sin and ask for His gift of eternal life.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Who you are when you die (either with or without Christ Jesus) determines your eternal destination.  

Whether or not you have a relationship with Jesus Christ when you die, determines if you will spend eternity with God or without God.

All those in a relationship with Jesus Christ when they die will spend eternity with God. 

All those not in a relationship with Jesus Christ when they die will spend eternity without God.

Those in a relationship with Jesus Christ have surrendered their lives to Him and have turned from all sin, forsaken sin and follow the ways of Jesus. 

Through the power of the blood of Jesus, believers faithfully pursue righteousness, seek God, reject sin, resist the devil, overcome sin and do not commit abominations against God.

 

Whosoever does abominations will NOT enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.   Revelation 21:27

This is a very powerful scripture.  In this scripture, God is telling ALL the world what will happen to anyone who works abomination, lives their life in abomination, commits abominations, lives abominably or participates in any abomination.

All people who perform abominations are NOT in the Lamb's Book of Life, and no one that is NOT in the Lamb's Book of Life will enter Heaven, or enter into the Kingdom of God, or spend eternity with God.

God says whatsoever worketh abomination are NOT written in the Lamb's book of life.

The word of God clearly states who will and who will NOT enter into Heaven, HIS Kingdom. 

ALL people who worketh abomination, commits an abomination, lives a life of abomination, those who participate in any way in any abomination, the word of God reads that they will NOT enter the kingdom of God because they chose to live a life of abomination against God.

The word of God reads that ALL people who work abomination are NOT written in the Lamb's book of life.

Through scripture we know that only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life will be saved and inherit the Kingdom of God and spend eternity in the Glory of God.

If you are living a life full of abomination, when you die (or the Lord Jesus returns, whichever comes first), you will NOT be permitted to enter the gates of Heaven, you will NOT spend eternity with God in His Kingdom.

As long as a person is breathing there is still hope for forgiveness to all people who repent of their abomination, who turn away from sin and turn to God (Acts 26:18,20), to receive the forgiveness of God and be accepted into His Holy Kingdom of Heaven.


What are abominations to the wicked and fools?

To the wicked, whose world is upside-down, who do NOT seek God, who do NOT seek righteousness, the wicked person's abominations are the opposite of those of believers of Jesus Christ.

The wicked and foolish do NOT depart from evil.  To the wicked and fools it is abomination to them to depart from evil.

The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.   Proverbs 13:19

 

Ceasing from sin is not in the thoughts or minds or comprehension of the wicked, the abominable, the fools.

The good, the just, the upright, the righteous, the pure are an abomination to the wicked.   The way of the righteous and upright is a an abomination to the wicked.

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. Proverbs 29:27

The wicked, the unjust, the unrighteous, the unbelieving, all believe evil is good, and good is evil.  The wicked are all twisted up, mixed up inside, they have been deceived by the devil himself into believing a lie.

Who are the unrighteous people who live in abomination?  Servants of satan, servants of sin are the unrighteous people who live in abomination against God. 

The unrighteous are bound to sin, tied to sin, the unrighteous are in the bondage of sin, the unrighteous are slaves to sin and slaves to the devil, servants of the devil, and are NOT free.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.  Romans 6:20

God says that we are the servants of who we yield ourselves to, either we serve sin and the devil, or we serve righteousness and God.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?   Romans 6:16

Yielding to sin, obeying the devil leads only to death, because the wages of sin is death.

Yielding to righteousness and obeying God leads to everlasting life.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.   For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:22-23

The promises of God never changes.  The wages of sin has always been death and will always be death. 

Through obedience to God, though acceptance of His Son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Master of your life, becoming a servant of His Holiness and righteousness, will end in everlasting life.

 


Can GOD forgive an abomination?

 

Yes, there is hope for all sinners!  Praise the LORD!  Jesus Christ is Lord!!

For anyone who is living a life of abomination toward God, living in sin against God, there is still hope

You do NOT have to die in your sins, and be separated from God for eternity.  As long as you have air in your lungs there is hope!

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Remember God loves everyone.  God loves us. God loves you!!  And God wants to save you from sin, from death, and from hell.

The word of God tells each of us, what we must do in order to be forgiven for an abomination

Remember God sees only two types of people, those people who are saved and those who people are lost.  God sees all who are His own children and those who are the children of disobedience.

There are two types of redemption, forgiveness of abomination:

  1. The lost must receive salvation and repent.

  2. The saved in Christ who sin must confess sin and repent.

Through either method, one must, with all their heart, believe and ask Jesus to forgive their abomination, and then repent from sin, which is turning away from all sin.  Without repenting from sin, a turn from sin to God, there is NO forgiveness of sin.

Salvation and repentance are both change.  Through either method, there will be a change in your life.

Do NOT be deceived by so many false prophets and false teachings and false doctrines out in the world today, you must believe in God.  Do not place your trust in some person's teachings, you must place your hope and trust in the One True Living God.

We are taught by God through His word and His Spirit.  We are to try every teaching, prove every doctrine and every spirit, by His word and by the Holy Spirit. 

God says that when we are saved, we become a new creature, that we are changed.  If someone has told you that there is no change after salvation, you now know that they are a liar and you should not listen to them any longer.

God didn't say we might feel changed, or we might be changed, but God said we are changed.

Salvation, the gift of God, has always been change, is always change, and will always change the hearts of men and women, until the end of this world.

God washes away all our sins when we are saved, and when we have godly sorrow for our sins and genuinely repent of all sins. 

The salvation of our souls is the operation of God, by God, of God, and through God, and changes our whole being: changes our heart, renews our spirit, changes our thoughts, changes our whole life.

We are renewed, changed from old; we are washed clean, changed from being unclean;  we are made pure, changed from being defiled; we are reborn - changed by being born again in the Spirit of God; we are justified - changed from being unjustified.

We are told all throughout the word of God that the saved in Christ Jesus are changed, through Him by the grace of God.

 

Forgiveness for the lost

If you are NOT saved, you must receive salvation, to be forgiven of all sin.

ALL lost people must be saved and repent of sin to receive salvation.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  Romans 10:9-11

You can turn from your wicked ways of sin against God

God will forgive you if you ask Him.

Forgiveness for the saved

If you are saved, you must confess your sins to the Lord and ask Jesus for forgiveness with your whole heart and completely repent, turn completely away from your sin and do not commit that sin ever again.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  Hebrews 6:6

 

Some believe once you are saved that there is no need for repentance, but since there is not a Scripture that supports their believe, all I can tell them is that eternity is a long time to be wrong.

Lost people and saved people, both must repent or perish.

 

Repent or perish

No one is exempt from repentance of sins.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Luke 13:3

Repentance is required of God for salvation.   Look at this scripture, it doesn't say except you say your are saved you will perish, but it says except you repent you will perish.

Repentance does NOT stop after we are saved.  We are ALL required by God to repent of all sin, throughout our whole life

Repentance is from the beginning of our salvation until the end of our salvation, which is until the end of our life or when Jesus comes again, which ever comes first.

The fact is, that God says the complete opposite and warns ALL people - lost and saved - unless you repent of sin, you will ALL perish.

Repentance is for everyone, the lost and the saved in Christ.

The saved in Christ are NOT exempt from repentance.  The saved in Christ must repent of their sin, all sin, or perish.

Too many people like to make up their own religions, fabricate their own doctrines, that say that they can live in all the sin that they want to and still be saved, but we know from the Word of God, that this is NOT what God says.

God says DO NOT BE DECEIVED, whatever a man soweth that he shall also reap, living in sin equals death and living in righteousness void of sin equals eternal life.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  Galatians 6:7-8

God says it doesn't matter what you think of yourself, you can call yourself a Christian, or the king of the world, it doesn't matter what you call yourself to God, because God is no respecter of persons.

We will all be judged by God, as to who is inside of our hearts, not who we tell people we are, but who God sees inside of us is who we really are.

If God sees Christ Jesus abiding IN us we are truly saved and will gain entrance into the Kingdom of God for all eternity.

If Christ Jesus is NOT abiding IN us, God will say "Depart from me, you that work iniquity, I do NOT know you".

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Luke 13:27

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.   Matthew 7:21-23

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,  Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:   Matthew 25:41

Remember, the end of salvation is at the end of our life.  We receive the end of our faith, which is the salvation of our souls, from God in Heaven after we die, or the rapture of the church whichever comes first (1 Peter 1:7-9).

God has never said that repentance is over after someone is saved.  God has never said that repentance stops after we are saved. 

 

God does NOT want anyone to perish; God wants everyone to receive eternal life

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.   2 Peter 3:9

 

Repent to receive remission of sins, forgiveness of sins

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;   Acts 3:19

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. Acts 8:22

Repentance is change.  True repentance is turning from sin, turning away from sin, departing from sin, running away from sin, sinning NO more, turning from your abomination against God.

You can turn from your wicked ways of sin, you can turn from abomination against God. 

God will forgive you if you ask Him.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.   Romans 4:7

 


How can I pray to GOD for forgiveness of an abomination?

In order to be forgiven of and abomination, forgiven of sin:

  1. First we must forgive everyone who has sinned against us.

  2. Our heart must be right with God in order for forgiveness to occur in our lives.

  3. If you are lost, you must receive salvation, by confessing and repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Master of your life. 

  4. If you are saved, you must confess your sins and repent of your sins.

  5. Then you must ask Jesus to forgive you of all you sins that you confessed and repented of with your whole heart and with godly sorrow.

  6. And then you must accept forgiveness from your Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.

  7. Lastly, you must NOT sin and lead a repentant life, live a righteous life, live a holy life following Jesus and serving only your Lord and Saviour.

 

Your prayer to the Lord God should be in your own words.  This prayer is an example.

When you ask for forgiveness from an abomination or other sin, be specific, name the sin that you are seeking forgiveness for from Jesus.

Name your sins and ask forgiveness for the named sins.  God already knows what the sin is, you can never hide anything from God.  We confess our sins because God has asked us to do so in HIS word.

Prayer for forgiveness:

Dear Father God, Thank you for your mercy and salvation.  I praise your Holy name! I come to you today to ask you for forgiveness for my sins.  I have sinned against you Lord and I am so sorry.  Jesus I repent of this sin and I ask forgiveness for my sin.  I pray that you will please keep me away from sin, convict me of sin in my life and give me a repentant heartJesus I confess of my sin and ask for forgiveness of sin in your name, cleanse me and make me whole. I accept your forgiveness with a thankful heart.  Dear Jesus please keep my feet on your straight and narrow path, and keep me from falling away from you. I give you all the praise and all the glory forever.  I ask all these things in your Holy name, Amen.

Seek the Lord and you will find HIM.  God promises never to be far from all people who seek Him.

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his  voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.  Deuteronomy 4:29-31

 


How can I avoid committing abominations?

The word of God gives us ALL, complete instruction for all of our lives. 

Every day when I study my King James Holy Bible, I am amazed by what I read.   

The word of God is alive and is living, every day I find something new that inspires me and that I can use in my daily walk with Christ.

How can I avoid committing an abomination?  By following the instructions from God, by obeying the words of God given to me, by learning and following the Will of God, by seeking God I can avoid all sin and abominations.

My Lord God tells me, if I keep His ordinances and I obey His words, that He gave to me, that I will NOT commit any one of these abominations.

Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.   Leviticus 18:30

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:   Leviticus 18:26

 

When I stay in line with His word, His teaching, the gospel of Christ, when I obey and serve my Lord, God promises me that I will NOT fall into sin.

Knowing, keeping and doing the will of God, keeping the statutes and judgment of God, obeying God we all can avoid committing abominations.

It is truly, very simple.  Follow Christ, deny ourselves, take up our cross daily for the Lord and we will remain in Him and be protected from sin by Him.

 

Walk in the Spirit

If we walk in the Spirit of God every day, we can avoid abominations.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.   Galatians 5:16-18

 

God did not say that we might not sin; no, He said we will not sin, if we walk in the Spirit of God.

God gives us many promises throughout HIS word.  And we know that HIS word can never change.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Halleluiah!! Praise HIS Holy name!!  Jesus Christ is LORD!!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.    Hebrews 13:8

 

What are the lusts of the flesh?

God says the lusts of the flesh, the works of the flesh are manifest and are:  Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like.  God says all people who do such things will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:  of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.   Galatians 5:19-21

 

If we seek God, if we serve Christ, we will have crucified our flesh and walk in the Spirit, we will NOT fulfil the lusts of our flesh, but have the fruit of the Spirit of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-26

 

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 

Notice that God separates living in the Spirit from walking in the Spirit. Many people have the Spirit of God living in them, they are saved, but they do NOT walk in the Spirit.

God wants us all to be saved AND God wants us all to walk in His Spirit, which is to live as His children. 

As the children of God, we represent God in everything we do every day. 

We are not just to say we are saved, we are to show the world that we are saved, by walking in the Spirit of God.

Sounds simple, but how do we walk in the Spirit?

No one can walk in the Spirit without receiving the Spirit of God.

We start by being saved, receiving the Spirit of God, through believing in Jesus Christ and asking Him to be the personal Lord and Saviour of our life.

We walk in the Spirit by following Christ, obeying Christ, and denying ourselves.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.   Matthew 16:24

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.   Luke 14:27

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.   Luke 14:33

 

We are required by God to deny ourselves.  We must give ALL of ourselves to Jesus, we cannot hold anything back from Him, if we are to follow him.

We are required by God to take up our cross. 

We are to follow Christ and only God, we are NOT to follow anyone else or anything else.

Following only Christ is very hard today with all the distractions of the world.

The devil is working very hard every day to make us sin and he never stops.  Satan works 24/7 and 365 days each and every year, to put obstacles in our path, to distract us, to keep us off task, to keep us from following Christ, and constantly tempts us to yield to sin.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:   1 Peter 5:8

 

The devil is walking around this earth to see who he can find to devour.  If you are a child of God, he is seeking you to devour, the devil is looking for you, to destroy you and to kill you and take you with him to hell with him!

The devil is seeking out those who he can trip up and make sin, distract and lead away from the Lord, and lead to sin and death. 

The devil's ultimate objective is NOT just to hurt us, but to destroy us, devour us and take us with him to hell.

Walking in the Spirit of God is not easy.  God never said it would be, in fact He tells us over and over again in His word, that HIS children WILL SUFFER.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.   1 Peter 5:10

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.   2 Timothy 3:12

The children of God are NOT frightened by the fact that we will suffer, because we know what is at the end of our suffering, our Saviour and the Kingdom of God is at the end of our suffering.  And because we suffer, we will also reign with God in Heaven.

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:   2 Timothy 2:12

 

Nothing that we suffer through in this life, in this world, nothing is worthy to be compared with what will be revealed to us, the glory of God which shall be revealed to us in Heaven.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.   Romans 8:18

Not everyone is able to step up to the challenge from God.  Some people easily give in to the devil and fall from the grace of God.

God knows that not everyone will be able to walk in the Spirit.  He knows this because He created us, He knows everything about us, He knows how we think and what we think ALL the time.

There is NOT one moment in our lives, that our Lord God is NOT thinking about us.  He never sleeps.  We, His children, are in HIS thoughts when we are awake and when we are asleep. 

God waits on us every day.  He is waiting for us the moment we wake up, to see what He can do for us today.  God wants to help us every day.

God is always available, every day to help us walk in the Spirit.

God knows the nature of human beings, because God created us.  God knows that everyone will NOT follow Him.  All human beings have faith, but not all people have faith in God.

The inability to walk in the Spirit was detailed in His word.

Jesus told a parable about a sower who went out to sow seed.  This parable Jesus told reflects how salvation affects different people.

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.   And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.  Luke 8:5-8

 

What does this parable mean?  This is a good question, one asked by the disciples of Jesus Christ.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.  Luke 8:9-15

 

This parable is about salvation and the Kingdom of God.  The seed is the word of God.

All four types of people received the same message of the gospel of Christ Jesus:

  • God was manifested in the flesh, born of a virgin, was called Jesus, preached to the world salvation, crucified on a cross for the sins of the world, Jesus was raised from the dead and lives forever

  • That they may be saved from sin and death, if they believe with all their heart Jesus is the Christ and only begotten Son of God

  • All who confess and repent of their sins and ask Jesus to come into their heart and become their Lord and Saviour, Master of their life

  • All who confess Jesus Christ is Lord

  • All who believe that Jesus can and will forgive them of all their sins, if they repent of their sins and they ask for forgiveness with all their heart

  • And that if they do these things, that they will receive the gift of God, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

This parable speaks about 4 different types of people:

  1. Fell by the wayside and it was trodden down. Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. People who hear the word of God, hear the plan of salvation, they are thinking things over, they may decide to be converted, but then the devil shows up again in their life.  These people may have good intentions of being saved, at a later time, after they think about it for awhile.  But while they are thinking it over,  they are easily swayed back into a life of sin with the devil.  The devil takes the word of God out of their hearts.  This very reason is why, when you hear the word of God, you must accept His word by faith TODAY.   At the very moment you receive the word of God in your heart, you must accept His call and be saved. No one is promised a tomorrow.  If you die without God tomorrow, or even today, without receiving salvation, you will spend eternity without God. These people could have been saved, if they had believed in God.  This parable is also telling us all that just hearing the word of God is not salvation.  Hearing the word of God is not salvation.  Believing in God is the road to salvation.  Hearing someone preach a sermon is not salvation.  Reading the Holy Word of God is not salvation.  Only believing with all our heart and soul in God is anyone saved. We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is received by the grace of God from believing in God and accepting all He says in His Word and says in our hearts.   Believing in God and receiving God into your heart as Lord and Saviour over all aspects of your life, is receiving salvation.

  2. Some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, received the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. The second type of people are those who hear the word of God, hear the plan of salvation, but who think that they can receive salvation by themselves.  They like the idea of salvation, but do not believe that they need God, they can be saved on their own.  They do not have any roots imbedded in the belief in God alone for salvation.  Can a seed be planted and grow out of a rock?  No, it can't.  These second type of people believe for a while, but in time of temptation fall away.  Maybe they are sincere for a while, they believe for a while, but then the world tempts them away from God.  Because their belief was not grounded in belief of God they fall away. They are on a rock without any roots.  Their salvation is superficial, on the top of the rock without any roots.  They are not willing to give up their selves, they are not willing to give ALL of themselves to God.  They try and invent their own religion, create their own doctrine without obeying God, where they are still in control. They will not deny their selves.  Their self is hard and impetrative like a rock.  The rock is their self.  They do not believe they need to know God more than they already know about Him.  They believe they are saved and do not need fellowship with God, they believe they do not need to obey God, or need anything else from God.  Without roots in the true Rock, which is the knowledge of the true God to hold them in their salvation, when the devil shows up they are easily moved from where they stood, because they have no root in God, they have no stronghold in Christ.  They believed for a while but when the devil tempts them they easily slide off their rock because there are no roots, they fall away from their salvation, away from God, they do not genuinely believe in God, these people are not saved.

  3. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. The next group of people hear the word of God, hear the plan of salvation and think they are saved, but cannot separate themselves from the world.  These people think that they can be saved and still live in the sins and lusts of this world. This group of people believe that they can be saved AND still live the same way they did before they were saved.  The scriptures relate this type of belief of salvation to living in thorns. These people who believe that they are saved, do not separate themselves from the world like the word of God tells them, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life. The word of God tells us that the children of God are separate from the world.  The cares and riches and pleasures of a life living in the flesh of the world will choke God out of our lives. God tells us in His word that we must remain separate from the world. The children of God have nothing in common with the unrighteous and lost of this world.

  4. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. The last group of people are those who hear the word of God, hear the plan of salvation and believe in God until the end, hold onto their salvation until the end. Those on the good ground, rooted in Christ Jesus, keep the word of God and bring forth fruit with patience. The people who are truly saved are those who genuinely believe in Christ Jesus and receive salvation with an honest and good heart. The people who are truly saved after hearing the plan of salvation, receive salvation and they keep it, hold onto their salvation, and bring forth fruit with patience.

 

Some people stop after salvation.  These are the people who believe that they are saved, but when the devil comes after them, they let the devil take away the word out of their hearts, so they do not believe and are not saved.

Some people rejoice after they believe they receive salvation.  These are the people who are on fire for the Lord but do not follow the word of God.  They make up their own religion, not caring what God says, they create their own religion in where they do NOT have to obey God. 

They do not feed on the word of God and do not grow in their Spirit.  They have no root, they believe that they are saved for a little while, but when tempted by the devil, they have nothing to hold onto, no root imbedded in God and they fall away from God. 

Some people who believe that they have received salvation, go out in the world and get tangled up with the cares and riches and pleasures of their worldly life and bring no fruit to perfection.  They fall back into the distractions of the world and leave their belief in Christ.

Only people who truly receive salvation and plant their feet on solid ground, which is the gospel of Christ, can defend themselves against the devil and grow in the Spirit of God. 

 

So in the parable, we were given 4 types of people, related to 4 types of seeds being sown. 

So what did all 4 have in common?  All four had one thing in common, they all heard the word of God, but just hearing the word of God did NOT save them.  As we see, they all had different reactions to the word of God.  Hearing is not believing.  Thousands of people hear the word of God and are not saved.

The first fell by the wayside, the second fell on a rock, the third fell among thorns, and the forth fell on good ground.

Only one group of seeds sown, the ones that fell on good ground, was able to spring up and stay up and bare fruit. The difference between people who are lost and people who are genuinely saved is that the people who are truly saved, not only hear the word of God, but they believe the word of God with all their hearts.  Their faith in God is rooted and grounded; and they spring up, they stay up, and they bare fruit. We are saved when we hear the word of God and believe in God for the rest of our lives.  Hearing the word of God alone is not enough to save us.  Salvation comes by believing in God with all our heart and all our soul.

By the grace of God, we are saved through faith in God.  The grace of God allows us to have faith in God.  Without grace there is no faith.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  Our salvation begins and ends by God alone, not by ourselves.  We do not have anything to do with salvation.  Salvation is the gift from God alone.  Nothing we can do can gain us our salvation, because salvation is the gift of God

By the grace of God we are able to have faith in God, and by faith in God we are saved.

We are saved by believing in God.  Obeying God is the product of salvation, not the cause of salvation.  Obedience to God is produced from true salvation, not the cause of salvation.

Following the will of God is the evidence of salvation, not the cause of salvation. 

Maintaining good works is the manifestation of salvation, not the cause of salvation.

God alone gives salvation.  Nothing we can do can earn salvation, because we alone are not worthy of salvation. God says, that no one is saved by their works.  You are NOT saved by your works.  We are only saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, His Son. We can do nothing by ourselves to obtain salvation, because salvation is the free gift of God, that we receive from God by believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, Master of our lives, for the rest of our life. We do the will of God and we obey God because of salvation, not to receive salvation.  Obedience to God is proof of our salvation, not the reason for our salvation. 

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

No one is saved by their works.

We are NOT saved by ourselves.  We are NOT saved by works.  Salvation is the gift of God that we cannot earn by doing anything for God.

Those who genuinely believe in God receive true salvation.  People who put all their faith and hope and trust in the Lord for all the days of their lives are truly saved.  These people hear the word of God and do it, they do what God tells them to do, and they keep the word of God, they bring forth fruit with patience, because of their salvation and love for God.

Only people who receive true salvation and build their salvation on solid ground, build their life on Christ, can endure the temptation of satan and grow fruit.

Salvation is NOT meant to be temporary.  Salvation is eternal obedience to God.

Obedience to God is the product of true salvation.

The word of God reads that we must endure until the end of our lives.

Salvation is a journey with Christ forever.  Salvation is NOT temporary.  Following Christ is a lifetime commitment. 

We must believe in God in order to be saved.   We are saved by the grace of God through our belief in God. 

The grace of God is what saves everyone.  Only by the grace of God is anyone saved, through faith in Jesus Christ.  Our belief in God, by the grace of God, we are saved.  Our belief in God is by the grace of God.  Our faith comes by the grace of God.

Everything we are, everything we have, we own, and we are given exists by the grace of God.

We are NOT saved by works.  God says that NO ONE can WORK their way into Heaven. 

We are NOT saved by obedience to God.  Obedience is the evidence of our salvation, NOT the cause of salvation.  Obedience is produced by genuine salvation.  Obedience and salvation are a team and cannot be separated.  No one has salvation without obedience toward God, but obeying God does not save anyone.

Faith in God saves, believing in God saves us, we are saved by the grace of God through faith in God.

 

 

Why can't our works save us?

Many people today in this world believe that their works will save them. 

Some people believe in their works alone for salvation, while others believe it is a combination of faith in God and their works together saves them.  Both of these beliefs are false, unbiblical, untrue, not supported by the Word of God.

Many people believe that without their efforts, their works, their penance, their sacrifices, they will NOT enter into the Kingdom of God.  Many people falsely believe that their works saves them.

I find it amazing that some people can think so much of themselves, that they actually believe that they can do some sort of works for God, or give anything to God that HE does not already have, or that God needs anything from us.  God is not dependent on us, we are dependent on God.

Do these people actually believe that they have anything to offer the Lord God Almighty, that He already doesn't have?  God owns the universe. God owns everything seen and unseen.  God owns it all.

God does not need us, but we do need God.

God created everything and everyone.  God has everything.  God owns everything.  God needs nothing. 

We don't have anything, we own nothing. We can do nothing for God, because He already has everything.

All the works required for the salvation of mankind have already been paid by one, Jesus Christ the LORD.  Jesus Christ the LORD paid all our debt of sin, made a way for us to be reconciled to God forever, made it possible to receive the salvation of God, Jesus did all the works for our salvation, and He did it once for all.   The works required for our salvation were taken care of completely, nothing else, the works Jesus Christ did for our salvation will never be repeated because no other works are required for our salvation.   It is finished.  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ finished all the works required for every person's salvation forever.

The scriptures tell us that God has no works for us to do to gain salvation.  We never had, nor never will or could have the payment required for our own eternal salvation. 

Nothing we ever had or ever could have, to offer to God, is a worthy enough sacrifice for our sins, and all the sins of the world.  All the money in the world, could never pay the price for our eternal souls, to wash away the sins of the world, our sins so that we could obtain eternal life in Heaven.

There was only one sacrifice that God would accept for the sins of the world, which was the living sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. 

Jesus paid the ransom in full, once for all, for all of our lives, for all the people of the world, though His crucifixion and death, the debt of sin was paid. 

Jesus overcame sin and death and raised Himself up from His grave, conquered death, so that we might receive forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus paid the full price for our eternal salvation.  Nothing else is owed.  There is no other payment due, the salvation of all mankind has been paid in full.   Jesus paid the full price for the salvation of mankind once for all.

Jesus paid the ransom for all our lives, once and for all time, once for all people.  Jesus offered Himself as the one sacrifice for sins forever.

And by His one offering, He has perfect forever them that are sanctified.   Halleluiah!!  Praise God!! Jesus Christ is Lord!!

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;  From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.  Hebrews 10:10-14

 

Like Christ Jesus, we too will die once, and after that we will receive the judgment of God.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  Hebrews 9:27

 


What if an abomination is legal, is it then okay?

Legalized sin, legal abomination, when is sin okay?  Abortion is legal in some parts of this world, but is not permitted by God.

Many abominations, many sins, are legal in our country and in our world government, but that does NOT make them legal with God.

The children of God, all people who have obeyed the will of God and received His gift of salvation through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus to salvation, are not only under the law of this country, but are also under the law of the grace of God, which is to follow Christ Jesus, which is the law of a better country, the Heavenly country, the Kingdom of God.

What are some legalized sins, that God says are an abomination?

Other gods and worship of other gods is accepted, practiced, and legal in most parts of this world, but is an abomination to God.

Idolatry is accepted, practiced, and legal in most parts of this world, but is an abomination to God.

Witchcraft, sorcery, divination, seducing other spirits is accepted, practiced, and legal in most parts of this world, but is an abomination to God.

Abortion is accepted, practiced and legal in many parts of this world, but is an abomination to God.

Homosexual marriage is accepted, practiced, and even legal in some parts of this world, but is an abomination to God.

Blasphemy is accepted and practiced by many people in this world, but is an abomination to God.

Adultery is accepted and practiced by many in this world, but is an abomination to God.

Homosexuality is accepted and practiced by many in this world, but is an abomination to God.

Lying is accepted and practiced by many of this world, but is an abomination to God.

 

No sin is accepted, legal, permitted, excused, or okay with God. 

No one is exempt from the promises of God.

 

If we are all guilty of sin, then who can be saved?

And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?  And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.   Luke 18:26-27

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.  Matthew 16:24-25

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  1 Thessalonians 5:9

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  John 3:16-17

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:26

 

How indeed, can anyone be saved?

Through our own small human thinking, the salvation of God is impossible to obtain, because we are unworthy and sinful, BUT the things impossible with men ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.  Praise God!!   The grace of God makes all things possible, even the salvation of our souls.

No one is worthy of the salvation of God, and no one can make themselves worthy of God's salvation through any works they might do.

We are all saved by the grace of God.  God's grace alone saves us all.  We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith, not of ourselves.

The salvation of God is conditional, and that condition is faith in God through faith in Christ Jesus to receive His salvation.  Faith in God that He is all who He says He is in His word.

If we surrender our life, give our life completely to God through faith in His Son Jesus Christ to salvation, then God gives us His eternal life through His Only Begotten Son.  All things begin and end with Christ Jesus, by His grace we are saved.  Jesus is the beginning and the end, Alpha and Omega, the Lamb of God, the Holy One, the Worthy Lord, our Saviour and our God.   Through faith in Christ to salvation, we are reconciled to God.  Jesus makes us worthy to enter into the presence of the Almighty JEHOVAH God.

If we hold onto our sinful life, remain attached to our sinful life, and do not give ourselves freely and completely to God, then we cannot be saved, and we do not inherit the eternal life of God.

Only when we release sin and take hold of God can we be saved.  When we seek God, come to God for His salvation, believe in Him, have faith in Christ Jesus to save us from sin and death, have faith in God, then we can be saved.

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jeremiah 17:14

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

 

Please pray today, with your own words, pray to God for His salvation.

Prayer for salvation:

Heavenly Father,

You say if I come to you and call your name then I will be saved.  Jesus, I call on your name, I believe in you, I believe you can save me from sin and death.  Jesus please save me today.

I believe through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of my sins and receive eternal life.  I confess my sins to you.  I turn from sin and turn to you, Lord. 

I believe there is no other God but you.  Help me serve only you all the days of my life.  Thank you for your salvation.  Help me to follow your will in my life.  Help me connect to other believers who love you.  I love you God. 

Thank you Jesus for saving me.  Help me in my unbelief.  I surrender all of myself to you.  Guide me, lead me, teach me.  I love you.  Take all of me for service in your Kingdom.  I pray all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

The Word of God reads that if you pray to God to be saved and believe that you will be saved.

The Scriptures tell us all that if we confess our sins that God is just to forgive our sins.  The Scriptures tell us if we come to God and ask to be given His gift of life, eternal salvation, that He will save us.  The Scriptures tell us if we have faith in Jesus Christ for our salvation, to be saved from sin and death, that He enables us to join the family of God and we become a child of God through that faith.  And from the moment of our salvation, until we see Jesus face to face after we die, we are never - from this moment on - far from Him, Jesus promises to always be with us, even until the end of this world.

Every child of God has a responsibility to obey the will of God and we can do this through prayer, worship, thanksgiving; by reading and learning from His Holy Word; by assembling ourselves with other like believers; by sharing the gospel of Christ with our family and friends; by listening to the Holy Spirit's guidance, the voice of God; by doing the word of God.
