Archives - For our readers

This is the archives of the "For our readers" section in the What's New section of this website.

The "for our readers" section is for our readers who wish to engage in their own personal Bible Study.

For more information see facts on how to conduct a Bible Study on the Bible Study page.

For our Readers - There's a Bible lesson in that

Write down or take a mental note of the lessons of faith the Holy Spirit teaches you this week.

Listen to what the Spirit of God is trying to teach you and you will learn things about God you never knew before.

God is in and throughout everything in this world because He created everything.  If we listen to the Holy Spirit’s teaching we will see lessons of faith, lessons of righteousness, and lessons from God in everything we see and do.

Find your lesson of faith that God wants you to learn today, by listening to the Holy Spirit teachings and you too will see….there is a Bible lesson in that…

For our Readers - What is your favorite Scripture?

Write out your favorite Scripture and explain what it means to you today.

Do you take notes when you study God's Word?

I encourage each of you to take notes when you study the Word of God.  You will be glad you did.  Note taking is not only for future reference, but when you take notes it reinforces what you are learning at that moment.

Start a new notebook today and list your favorite Scriptures.  Write down what the Scripture means to you at the time, the inspiration, the lesson that the Holy Spirit places in your heart.

Conduct a personal bible study regarding justification and sanctification.

Here are some question you might wish to answer:

  • Is justification the same as sanctification?  Why?

  • Is justification the same as salvation?

  • When are we justified?

  • Is justification required for salvation?

  • Is sanctification required for eternal life?

  • Are you justified?  How do you know?  What does it mean?

  • Do you possess sanctification?  How?  In what way?

  • Can one possess justification without sanctification?  Explain.

Remember when we conduct Bible studies we are applying God's Word to our own lives, not to our neighbor's lives.  We are to work out our own salvation, not work out our neighbor's salvation.

For our Readers - Are you offended?

Everyone seems to get offended so easily today, especially with church and the things of God.  Offence is one of the tools of the devil, used to separate us from God.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Matthew 11:6

Are you offended in Jesus?  Has God ever offended you?   Are you dealing with an offence now?  What does the Scriptures tell you about being offended?  What can you do to insure that you are not offended in Jesus?

For our readers was created for those who wish to engage in a personal Bible study.  We will ask you questions, then you write down your answers, then you open your Bible and find the Scriptures to confirm the truth of God.

For our Readers - How am I saved?

This section is for our readers who wish to engage in their own personal Bible Study.

How am I saved?

What would you tell someone if they asked you, how are you saved?  We should all have assurance that we are saved and we should all know how we are saved, so that we can share our blessed hope with others.

Write down your answers to this question on a piece of paper, then open your Bible and find Scriptures to support the truth of God.

For our Readers - What is the purpose of my life?

This section is for our readers who wish to engage in their own personal Bible Study.

What is the purpose of my life?

Write down your answers to this question on a piece of paper, then open your Bible and find Scriptures to support the truth of God.

For our Readers - How can I lead someone to salvation?

How do you lead someone to salvation?

The word of God states that we should always be ready to give people the reason for our joy, our hope in the Lord, our salvation.

When someone asks you the reason for your joy, are you ready to tell them that it is because you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, that you have been saved from sin and death by the living God, and He alone is the reason for your joy?

Have you ever personally led someone to Christ?  Do you know the plan of salvation?  What Scriptures are used to lead someone to salvation?

Write down your answers to this question on a piece of paper, open your Bible and find Scriptures to support the truth of God.

For our Readers - What riches can you find in the book of Philippians?

This section is for our readers who wish to engage in their own personal Bible Study.

What riches can you find in the book of Philippians?

Oh, how I love the book of Philippians and the One who gave it to me!

Here is a list of the treasures found in the book of Philippians:

- who Jesus is - who we are in Christ - what happens at our resurrection - the Lord's coming - promises of God - what is salvation - what is meant by sanctification - what is the Christian walk - like-mindedness - where we go when we depart from this earth - where our true home is - the evidence of perdition - how to be one - how to love and live to God - the death of the cross - the name that God claims is a name above every other name - what is and how we are to do God's good pleasure - what God expects of us, what we should beware of - who are enemies of the cross of Christ - what to do with worry - what the peace of God does - what God wants us to think about - what God wants us to do in this life - exactly what we can do through Christ - what God supplies to His children - what state I am to be in no matter what.

See if you can find all these riches listed above and even more.

Pray to God that He will reveal His riches to you through His book of Philippians.  Open your Bible and find Scriptures that define the riches listed above and even more.

For our Readers - What proof do you have the Word of God is true?

This section is for our readers who wish to engage in their own personal Bible Study.

What proof would you give someone that the Holy Bible was written by God and that all the Word of God is true and applicable today?

Have you ever heard someone doubt the Word of God?  Has someone ever told you that they don't believe in the Bible?  How do you know that the scriptures in the Word of God, the Holy Bible, are the words of God?

What is the truth regarding the Word of God?

Other than the Bible what proof is there that it is truly the words of God?

For our Readers - What is the book of Job about?

Before you read Job again, write down everything you know about Job, in a paragraph or bullet points.  Make sure to answer the questions:  Who was Job?  How did God describe Job?  What was the purpose of Job sufferings?   What did Job lose?  What was Job's friend's advise?  What did Job do after his loss?  Was Job living outside of God's will?  Was Job responsible for his suffering?  Why was Job made to suffer?  When did Job curse God?  What did Job finally acknowledge to God?  What was Job's restoration?  What do you think was God's purpose of Job?  How do you relate to Job?  And any other questions you have.

Next, read the book of Job.  Study and pray, mediate on God's word and teachings.  Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you God's word.

What new insight did the Holy Spirit give you about Job?  Finish by reviewing your notes you made in the beginning.  Did any of your beginning notes or answers change?

For our Readers - What do you believe? Why?

Most denominations and churches have a statement of faith, a list of their beliefs, a foundation of truth that they believe.

What are your beliefs?  Do you know what the place of worship you attend has written down as their statement of faith?  Should it matter, if you attend a church that believes in something other than the Word of God?

Write out your beliefs and then find Scriptures where your beliefs align with the Holy Word of God.

Our beliefs, our faith must be established, grounded, found in God alone and can only come from one resource - His - the one true Holy incorruptible, inerrant, eternal, living Word of God.   The Word of God is the supreme, final authority of the truth of God.  Nothing has greater authority than the Word of God.  There is no other book or other revelation of God, given by God Himself to mankind, than His Holy Word, located in the Old and New Testaments, the Holy Bible.

Does every faith or religion believe in the God you do?  Does it matter what faith you are in, as long as you are in some faith?  Does God somehow accept all belief systems?  Do all religions lead to the same God?  Does it matter what we call God, aren't all religions about the same God, but just call Him by different names?  Do you know what other faiths believe?  What makes believer's of the gospel of Christ different from other faiths?  Do all Christian faiths lead to God?  Don't all Christian faiths end with eternity with God in Heaven?

You can find most every faith and religion on the internet today.  Look at some of their statements of faith.  What are the differences?  Do they align with or contradict the Word of God?

Why is it important to know what other faiths believe?  So when someone says, 'Oh, they believe the same things we do', you will know the difference, and you can then lovingly share with them the truth of God.

Remember, one of the devil's greatest tools is ignorance of the truth of God.  Without knowing the truth of God for ourselves, we can easily be persuaded to believe a lie.  The power of God is given to us in His Holy Word, the Scriptures.  Jesus said, we err not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29).
