What is salvation assurance?

The dictionary defines assurance as the act of assuring; pledge or guarantee; security; being certain of something in the mind; confidence of mind; freedom from doubt or uncertainty; confidence.

Assurance of salvation is having the confidence you are saved, knowing you are saved, being certain of your salvation, a guarantee of your eternal destiny.

Assurance of your salvation is freedom from doubt or uncertainty and having confidence you are truly saved.

Salvation assurance is knowing you are saved and have received the gift from God, through believing in His Son, which is eternal life. 

Knowing without any doubt, that when you die that you will enter the gates of Heaven and spend your eternity in the Kingdom of God is salvation assurance.

But how can anyone be sure that they are saved?  In the word of God, the children of God are ALL given assurance of their own salvation.

 


Does GOD give salvation assurance?

Halleluiah! Yes, He does!!  God gives us FULL ASSURANCE of our Salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ!!

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)   Hebrews 10:22-23

God not only gives us salvation assurance, but He gives us FULL assurance of faith, total, complete assurance of our salvation.

Through His Holy word, God shows us how we can have full assurance of our salvation, proof of our redemption, FULL assurance of faith. 

 

Are you sure you are saved?  How are you sure of your salvation? 

Many people in this world today do NOT have assurance that they are truly saved.  How sad I feel for these people, how utterly miserable they must feel.  Many false religions today teach that no one can be assured of their salvation.   Many religions falsely preach that no one can know that they are truly saved. 

But we know, this is NOT what God tells us in His Word.  God, through His word, gave us assurance of His salvation.  God tells us all, "these things have I written you that believe in Jesus, that you may KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE".   God wants us to KNOW that we have eternal life, He wants us to be comforted and assured when we receive His free gift of salvation, which is eternal life in His Kingdom of Heaven for eternity.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

Many people today believe that they will not know their eternal destiny until after they die.  Some false religions even teach that it is possible for salvation from the grave.  These religions are false, because God tells us all in His word that salvation cannot be obtain after we die.

Does God give assurance, to His children who are saved?  Yes, He does!  Hallelujah!!  Praise the Lord!!

Over and over again in His word, the word of God, the Holy Bible, God gives His own, His children, those who are born again, who have received His gift of salvation through faith in Jesus, all who believe on His Son, Jesus Christ as Lord, full assurance that they indeed are truly genuinely saved.

God gives assurance of salvation to all His children.  If you are a child of God, through faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have assurance that you are saved, through the word of God and through the Spirit of God.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:   Romans 8:16

We are given full assurance, written down in His Holy Word, AND we are given assurance of our salvation by His Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of God, which dwells in the hearts of believers, confirms our salvation to our soul, to our heart, to our mind, to our spirit.

God wants all His children, the saved in Christ, to know without any doubt that they are saved and that they have eternal life through His Son. 

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13

God says that we have assurance of our salvation, that we may know that we have eternal life, we who believe on the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:26

We all come to God, receive salvation, the exact same way, by faith in His Son, Christ Jesus.  Jesus is the only way to the Kingdom of God, there is no other way except by faith in Christ Jesus.  Jesus said, "I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and NO ONE comes to God the Father, but by me".

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

The way to salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ.  (Romans 1:16; 2 Timothy 2:10; 2 Timothy 3:15)

God tells us that all people who believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and do the will of God, which is to obtain salvation through believing in His Son, will have eternal life.  The will of God is for all people to obtain salvation, though faith in Him.  We must accept God's free gift of salvation, in order to see Him, to be forgiven of sin, and receive eternal life through His Blessed Son.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  1 John 2:17

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  1 Thessalonians 5:9

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:15-16

We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Lord Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to be saved, except through faith in God, by the grace of God.  God says that there is salvation in no other name, but the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). 

We are ALL saved the exact same way, which is by grace through faith; by the grace of Jesus through faith in Jesus.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

The salvation of God is conditional, without faith in Jesus Christ there is NO salvation.   Without faith in God, no one is saved from sin and death.  Without faith in God, no one will see God.  Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Ephesians 2:8

Through faith in God we are saved.  Through faith in God we can be saved from sin and death.  Through faith in God we can be with God for eternity.

You must have faith in God, that He is all who He says that He is, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, to be saved.  You must have faith in God in order to enter His Kingdom, to spend eternity with God in Heaven.  You must have faith in God to be saved, there is no other way to be saved, except through faith in God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

Salvation, the gift of God cannot be purchased, or earned by our works.  Jesus Christ did the works for salvation, no other works are required by God for our salvation.  The works for salvation were completed by Christ Jesus.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

A gift cannot be earned by favors or duty or acts or works.  A gift cannot be purchased.  Salvation is the gift of God Salvation belongs to God (Psalm 3:8) alone (Psalm 62:2), and He alone can give it.  Salvation has always and will always belong to God, salvation is His.  Only through faith can we say, God is my salvation (Isaiah 12:2), we place our trust in Him alone for our salvation. The salvation of God is forever.

Salvation, the free gift of God, cannot be bought by any amount of money or physical labor or suffering or anything that we can do.

No physical act that we do, can gain us salvation.  Salvation is not given to anyone in exchange of any works that they might do.

Salvation is received not of yourselves, not of works, lest any man should boast.  No one can say that they obtained salvation by their good deeds, , by their own works, by their sacrifices, by their offerings, by any of their own means.

Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:9

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  Titus 3:5

 

The price of salvation has already been paid by Jesus Christ, once for all Jesus paid the price of salvation once for all people.  Jesus paid our price for our salvation, nothing else is due, nothing else is needed, nothing else is required by God for our salvation. 

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  Hebrews 10:10

Our sanctification to God does NOT come from anything that we can do; because, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 

Jesus Christ died ONCE for the sins of ALL people, ONCE for the sanctification of ALL people.  Jesus Christ died ONCE for ALL, never to be repeated, one pure sinless sacrifice for the sins of all the people of this world.  God the Father requires no more sacrifice for us to become His own.

We are sanctified, we are forgiven, we are saved, we are made worthy, we are redeemed through the one and only atoning blood offering of Jesus Christ - once for all.  By one offering forever, we are sanctified by grace through faith.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.  Hebrews 10:14

Jesus Christ paid our ransom to God for our salvation, the price for our salvation, for the salvation of all the people of all the world once and for all people, once for all

The works of Jesus brought redeeming salvation to us once for all time.  The work for salvation was finished by Christ Jesus.  Jesus came to earth to do the work, when He offered Himself on the cross, shed His blood for our sins, He did all the work required for our salvation, IT IS FINISHED, the works for salvation were finished through Christ Jesus.  This is the gospel of Christ, through Him, believing faith in Him

Jesus said, "It is finished", when He offered Himself as the sacrifice for our sins on the cross at Calvary.  We must have faith and trust that what God finishes is in fact finished.  No more sacrifice for sins is required because Jesus Christ finished His work on this earth, which was to be the way for us to God, which is by obtaining salvation, which is by grace though faith in Him.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.  John 19:30

As believers of Christ Jesus, we know that those were not the final words of our Lord.  Jesus rose from the grave, three days later, resurrected and lives forevermore in Heaven.

Salvation is conditional by faith, not by our works.  We receive salvation by grace through faith alone, this is what God says, so that settles it. 

By falsely believing that salvation is through works, or a combination of grace AND their works.  By falsely believing salvation by works, these people cancel out the grace of God, making the grace of God insufficient for salvation by itself.  These people are saying, that the grace of God is not good enough for their salvation alone, that their works are needed to supplement, assist the grace of God. 

We must believe the word of God, which says that God does NOT need our help to do anything, God is omnipotent, God is Almighty, God is able to do all things all by Himself.  By saying that certain works must be performed here on earth to obtain salvation, they void the grace of God, they are saying the grace of God is NOT sufficient alone for their salvation, which is NOT what God says in His word. 

God says we are NOT saved by our works (Romans 11:6).  We know that salvation is the gift of God (Romans 6:23), if we must work for the gift, then it is not a gift, because we earn it by our works. 

Let's say I want to give you a free gift, let's say it is a new car.  I hand you the keys and say this car is yours, it is a free gift to you.  But then, I say that you must clean my house every Friday until the day you die.  Would I be giving you a free car?  No, I wouldn't.  Why?  Because you have to work for it by cleaning my home.  The fact that you are "working" for the car, voids the car being a "free gift", because you are working at my home forever.

If I gave you a car as a free gift, with the only stipulation being that you must keep up the insurance of the vehicle on your own, would it still be a "free gift", of course it would.  The car is yours free and clear, with the only condition being that you must keep up the insurance on the car, or I must take it back, and the car would no long be yours, because car insurance is required by law in the U.S. for all motor vehicles. 

Salvation is conditional, because God says that we are saved by grace through faith, without faith we are not saved.  If we forsake our faith in God we are no longer saved.  No one is saved without faith in Christ Jesus.  Unbelief separates any person from God for eternity.

We all know that a free gift is NOT a free gift, if you have to earn it, work for it, pay for it by any works.  This is what is meant in Romans 11:6, "if (salvation is) by grace, then is it no more of works (not received by works)": "otherwise grace is no more grace" (because if salvation is received by works, then grace is not grace).  "But if it be of works, then is it no more grace", (works for salvation cancels out, grace alone for salvation, it is NOT a free gift if works are involved).  Grace is grace and works are works; they are NOT the same things; grace is not works, just as works are not grace.

God says that He is able to justify us, give us salvation from sin and death, completely and freely by His grace alone (Romans 3:24).

Yes, we do owe a debt to God for His gift of salvation, but the debt has already been paid. The works of salvation, the debt owed for our salvation was paid once and for all people, by one, Jesus Christ on the cross.  The shed blood of Jesus paid our debt to God for our salvation.  The debt of our salvation was completely paid, nothing else is due.  No one else but Christ Jesus could pay for the sins of all the people of this earth.

The false belief that people's works are required for salvation is nothing new, these same lies have been taught since the beginning of time.

Salvation cannot be obtain by our works.   Nothing we could ever do would be worthy of salvation.  No work that we could ever perform, could ever pay for our salvation. 

God saves us according to His mercy alone, NOT by works of righteousness which we can do or have done.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  Titus 3:5

God says in His word, that if we could obtain salvation by ourselves, the cross of Christ was in vain.  Why would Jesus die, if our own works could save us? The virgin birth of Christ is of no effect.  The crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is meaningless, if we were able to obtain our salvation by ourselves, by 'our works', the sacrifice of Christ Jesus would be in vain. 

The plan of God, the will of God, was for Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, to do the works for our salvation.  The works of Christ Jesus were the only works acceptable to God the Father for our salvation.  Our redemption is through one, Jesus Christ.

We cannot work for salvation, salvation is the gift from God, freely given to all people, every race, every nation, all the world, by grace through faith, nothing less and nothing more. 

Following the word of God in our lives, doing the will of God, serving Christ Jesus, obeying God, these are not works that the children of God do FOR salvation or do in order to earn salvation; no, we live in obedience to God BECAUSE OF salvation, not to gain it. 

Following righteousness, obeying God is the product of salvation, NOT the cause of salvation.

Good deeds, good works, living righteously to God does not save anyone, only faith in God saves anyone from sin and death.

Obedience to God, following righteousness is the product of true salvation. 

Obedience to God, serving and following the ways of Christ, is produced from genuine salvation. 

Obeying God is the result of true everlasting salvation, but not the cause of salvation.

Obedience always follows genuine salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  By the grace of God, through faith in God, we are saved.  By the grace of God we are able to be obedient to the word of God, through faith in God.  The ability to obey God is through faith in Christ Jesus for salvation.

Saving faith is believing in Jesus Christ for our salvation from sin and death.  Saving faith is believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Saving faith is believing that Jesus died on a cross for the sins of all world.  Saving faith is believing Jesus rose from His grave, received a heavenly body, and now sits on the right hand side of God the Father in the throne of Heaven.  Saving faith is believing Jesus will return to earth for all His own one day.  Saving faith is believing that when we die, we will be present with Jesus at His throne in the Kingdom of Heaven, and will be forevermore with our Lord.

We have nothing to give to God for our salvation, that He doesn't already have; God owns everything; everything already belongs to God.  We don't even "own" our faith.  Our faith is given to us by the grace of God

By the grace of God, we are able to have faith in God.  Through faith in God we are saved, by the grace of God.  We are all given a measure of faith to believe in God.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.   Romans 12:3

Everything is by the grace of God.  By the grace of God we are given our first breath; we are alive by the grace of God.  We "own" nothing.  We brought nothing into this world and we will leave with nothing.  Only by the grace of God, through faith in God, we are saved.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.  1 Timothy 6:7

The children of God do not obey God in order to receive salvation, we obey God because of salvation.   The saved in Christ follow His ways because of salvation, not to gain it.

No one can receive salvation through a ceremony, through rituals, through speeches, through baptism, through memorizing anything, through any performance of man, because salvation is the operation of God, given by God to all who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Following the ways of Christ, doing the will of God, is innate for the saved.  Following Christ, doing the will of God, is inherited with salvation; and, just as breathing, becomes essential in our lives, necessary to live.

Believers of Christ Jesus live by faith, the evidence of faith is obedience to God.  True faith, genuine faith, saving faith in God always produces obedience to God.  All believers are given the ability to obey God by salvation.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.   Romans 1:17

The proof of genuine faith, faith revealed, is living our lives by faith, in the righteousness of God.  

From faith to faith, the righteousness of God is revealed.  We go from our initial faith in God to salvation, to walking in faith every day of our lives, growing our faith in God every day - from faith to faith  - from faith to more faith.  The narrow path to heaven, to God, is one step of faith, followed by another step of faith, followed by faith, followed by faith, followed by faith, and this continues, from faith to faith, until we reach our home in heaven, the end of our faith journey, which is the salvation of God.  Faith begins and ends with salvation.  The road of faith never ends for believers of Christ Jesus.

To receive the gift of God, which is salvation and eternal life, we step out from ourselves, we step out from this world, we step out in faith to God.  In order to continue in the righteousness of God, we must remain in faith to Him, stepping out in faith to God every day, until we reach Him

Our journey as believers is on the road of faith, where the righteousness of God is revealed, though every step we take in faith toward Him.  Every step on our path is faith, we go from faith to faith, staying on the path of faith and righteousness to God.  The end of our faith is our salvation, given to the faithful at the end of our journey by Jesus Christ Himself.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:9

When we receive the free gift of salvation from God through faith in Jesus Christ as the Lord of our life, we are born again.  We are born into the family of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, we are adopted into the family of God.  We are co-heirs with Christ Jesus, inheriting the Kingdom of God.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;   if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  Romans 8:14-17

Through faith, we are adopted, because we were created by God.  Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.  Jesus was not created by God, Jesus came out of God, Jesus is from God, Jesus is God.

Through salvation, we become the children of God and we belong to God the Father by faith in His Son.  Christ Jesus owns our lives, our lives are no longer ours to control.   Through faith and salvation, we surrender all to Christ Jesus.  We give Jesus full control and command over every aspect of our bodies and our lives.  Through faith we pledge our life to Christ Jesus, to do with as He will; not my will but thine be done.

When we accept Jesus Christ into our life, as Lord and Saviour over our life, we surrender our life completely to God.  Through faith we give Christ our life, in return Jesus gives us eternal life.  Without faith and surrendering our life to Christ Jesus, no one is saved.

We must lose our life, give our life to Jesus to save it.  What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Mark 8:35-36

There is nothing in this miserable wicked world worth losing your eternal life in Heaven for, nothing.  We either love this evil world, sin and the lust of this world, or we love God, no one can love both.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  John 12:25

Holiness and righteousness is gifted to us through salvation, because we put on Christ. 

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.  Philippians 1:11

Salvation enables us to put away sin in our lives.  Salvation enables us to forsake sin.  Salvation enables us to repent from sin, turn away from sin and turn to God.  Salvation enables us with the power of God, to do the will of God.

We inherit the Spirit of God through salvation and the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

We are saved by grace, the gift by grace is given to us by one - Jesus Christ our Lord God.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.  Acts 15:11

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  Romans 5:15

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  Ephesians 2:5

Through salvation we are known by God because we are of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ.   This is the true God, and eternal life.  1 John 5:19-20

Through salvation we are in God and God is in us, because we are Christ's and Christ's is God's. 

And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.  1 Corinthians 3:23

Through the gift of eternal salvation, we are given an understanding to know God, the true God, eternal life is in Him that is true, in Jesus Christ our Lord.

We abide in God and God abides in us through salvation, by the grace of God through faith in God. 

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.  I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.   John 12:44-46

As children of the Light, we have salvation assurance because we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and we do not abide in darkness.

 


Who has assurance of their salvation?

Those who believe on the name of Jesus

All people who believe on the name of the Son of God to salvation, know that they have eternal life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13

What does it mean to believe on the name of the Son of God? 

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  John 3:18

We know by the word of God that all people who do NOT believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God are condemned already.  And, we know by the word of God, that salvation is received into us by the grace of God through faith in the Son of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, but what exactly does it mean to believe on the name of the Son of God?

The name of the Son of God is above every name. 

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Philippians 2:9-11

We know that by no other name is anyone saved. 

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  Acts 4:10-12

By the name of Jesus we are reconciled to God, we are sanctified, we are justified, we are saved.  We are permitted access to God the Father through the Son.  There is no other way to God the Father except through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.  Acts 15:11

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.  1 Corinthians 6:11

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  2 Corinthians 5:18

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father  Ephesians 2:18

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

 

Every breath we take is by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Everything we do, in word or deed, is to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.  Colossians 3:17

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.  And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.  1 John 3:23-24

Believing on the name of the Son of God, on the name of Jesus, is believing all that God says that He is - the only begotten Son of God, the Christ, Lord and Saviour of the world, the living God and the Saviour of all men, came to earth from Heaven, born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born in the image of man, God manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached the gospel, believed on in the world, loved and hated in the world, lived pure and sinless in this world, overcame the world, crucified on a cross for the sins of the world, being God He gave Himself for us as a ransom for our sins, offered His life and sacrificed His life so that we could receive eternal life, buried, rose from the grave, seen after His resurrection by multitudes of people on this earth, received up to the glory of God in Heaven, sits on the right hand side of God the Father, forgives sin, saves anyone who believes in Him from sin and death, is Life and gives eternal life to anyone who believes on Him, is the Great God, and will return back to earth for a second time for His own faithful followers.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.  Philippians 3:20-21

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

 

Believers who hold onto their faith

True believers of Christ Jesus, the saved in Christ, have assurance of their salvation from God, through faith in God.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  Hebrews 10:22

 

Believers of Christ who DO the will of God

All people who believe and follow Christ Jesus, who do the will of God have assurance of their salvation into eternal life.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  1 John 2:17

God promises us in His Holy word, that if we do the will of God, which is to obtain salvation through everlasting faith in Jesus Christ, we will abide forever.

 

Believers who abide in Christ Jesus have salvation assurance

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.  We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.  And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.  1 John 5:17-20

We receive the gift of God, which is salvation, through faith. 

Through faith, we are born again and we become the children of God. 

The children of God know that the Son of God is Jesus Christ and is come. 

Jesus Christ gives us an understanding that we know Him that is true; and, we are in Him that is true, who is the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the true God and eternal life.

 

Believers of Christ live in righteousness

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.  Isaiah 32:17

Through faith we receive salvation and the righteousness of God.  The effect of righteousness is quietness and assurance for ever.

 

Believers of Christ remain stedfast until the end

Believers who are steadfast until the end have assurance of their salvation.  We believe in God all the days of our lives.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.  1 Corinthians 15:57-58

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;  Hebrews 3:14

 

Believers in Christ endure until the end

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  Matthew 24:13

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  Mark 13:13

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.  Hebrews 3:6

Enduring until the end is NOT just breathing, and living your life anyway you want. 

Enduring until the end is NOT living in sin and unrighteousness.  Enduring until the end is NOT living for selfish pleasures of this world.

Enduring until the end is serving Christ for all the days of our life.  Enduring until the end is follow Christ, denying self, holding onto your faith in God until the end of our life.

Enduring until the end is living the rest of our time to the will of God, and with faith in God.

That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 1 Peter 4:2

Believers in Christ Jesus do not endure until the end in order to receive salvation, we have already received salvation, but we endure until the end BECAUSE OF the salvation, that we have received from God Almighty.

Believers of God hold onto their faith in God until the end because of their salvation, because of their faith in God.  Our faith in God enables us to see God.

Without faith in God, no one will see God.  No one will enter Heaven without having faith in God.  Unbelief in God is what separates anyone from God for eternity.

 

The Spirit of God assures the spirit of believers

The Spirit of God tells us and assures our spirit that we are saved, that we are the children of God.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  Romans 8:16

 

We know the only one true God, we know our God is our Father and Jesus Christ is Lord.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  Romans 8:15

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  1 Corinthians 2:10,12

 

Believers of Christ Jesus who overcome

Believers who are overcomers have assurance of their salvation.

Because Jesus overcame the world, overcame sin and death, so can His followers, the believers of Christ Jesus, can overcome the world and have victory over sin and death.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  John 16:33

 

Because of Christ, we too can overcome evil with good.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.  Romans 12:21

God is greater than ALL things, anyone or anything.  Believers of Christ Jesus are OF God, the children of God.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4

The power of God and authority of God is greater than the power of satan, greater than the power of this world, greater than anyone or anything.

When we are born again, we as believers of Christ Jesus receive the power of God and authority of God, because we become the children of God.

Believers of Christ Jesus CAN overcome because we are born of God.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.  1 John 5:4

When we believe in Christ Jesus we can do anything, including overcoming the lusts of this world, sin and death.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  1 John 5:5

Believers in Christ who overcome will inherit eternal life.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.  Revelation 2:7

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  Revelation 3:5

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  Revelation 3:21

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  Revelation 21:7

Do you want to sit with Jesus on His throne?  Do you want to inherit ALL the things of God?  Then you must believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and believe you can overcome the sin of this world.

The children of God overcome sin because of salvation, not to obtain salvation.  We have already been given eternal salvation and we overcome the world, as Christ did, BECAUSE OF salvation.

Everyone is saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God.  There is no other way to be saved, but by the grace of God through faith in God. 

 

Believers who have the Spirit of Christ dwelling in them

Believers who have Christ Jesus abiding IN them have salvation assurance.

Even the devil knows who Jesus is, but he does not believe Jesus Christ is Lord and does not have Christ dwelling in him. 

Christ Jesus abides inside the children of God.  God lives inside of all believers, all who have faith in Him.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  1 Corinthians 3:16

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  2 Corinthians 6:16

Knowing about someone is not believing in them.  You may know someone but that does not mean that you place your faith and trust in them.

Millions of people know about Christ Jesus, but not all people have faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, not all have saving belief in Christ.  Every person in the world has faith, but not all people have faith in God.

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.  2 Thessalonians 3:2

Because the children of God believe in Jesus, the Son of God, and we put our trust and our whole life into His hands, we surrender all our life to Him, we are saved and the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of God dwells in the children of God.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  Romans 8:10-11

 

The knowledge of Jesus Christ does not separate believers from unbelievers, but the belief in Him does.  Believers have genuine, unwavering, total faith in God and unbelievers do not have faith in God.

Christ dwells IN believers.  Jesus abides IN believers.  The Spirit of God resides IN believers.

 

Believers are led by the Spirit of God

Believers of Christ have assurance of their salvation because we are led by the Spirit of God, NOT by sin, we do NOT live for sin and lust of the flesh, we live for Christ.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  Romans 8:13-14

 

Believers in Christ who deny self

Believers in Christ have assurance of their salvation because they deny self to follow Jesus.

Believers who have Christ as the center of their life have total salvation assurance. 

Believers with salvation assurance have put to death selfishness, self reliance, self pride, self control, and self-centeredness.

When believers put on Christ, we put Christ as the ruler of our lives, God is first, Jesus is at the reigns steering our course in this life, we no longer let self rule our lives.  We have  replaced "I" with "Jesus".  We have replaced "I will", with "God's will".  We have replaced "I want", with what "God wants".

Believers in Christ are not the masters of their lives anymore, because Christ Jesus is the Master of our lives.

The children of God surrender all to Jesus, we give all we have to God.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.  Luke 14:33

Without giving all our life to Christ, we will not receive eternal life, if we do not forsake, give up all for God, we cannot be a disciple, a believer, we do not have faith in God.

Faith in God enables us to give all we have to God, heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.  Deuteronomy 13:3-4

But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.  Joshua 22:5

Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.  1 Samuel 12:24

 

Believers who follow Jesus have assurance of their salvation

We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.  The children of God follow Jesus because of salvation, NOT to obtain salvation.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.  Luke 14:27

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.  Luke 14:33

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;  John 8:31

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.  John 13:35

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.  Matthew 12:50

Faith in God alone is the only thing that will gain anyone entrance into the gates of Heaven.  DO NOT BE DECEIVED.

 

Believers in Christ love

Believers in Christ Jesus who love everyone have assurance of salvation. 

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.  John 13:35

God is love.  We are given the love of God when we are saved, enabling us to love all people as God does.  Through the power of God we are able to love all people no matter what, or who they are.

Nothing is impossible with God.  With God all things are possible, even loving our enemies.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27

Through Christ Jesus we are able to know what genuine love really means, we feel it, and we can share it with others, the love of God passes all understanding.

The proof of salvation is our genuine love and forgiveness toward all people.

 

Believers in Jesus Christ forgive all things

Believers in Christ have salvation assurance because we forgive all people for all things.  We can forgive because Christ Jesus forgave us.

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13

Forgiveness is a gift from God.  God gives us the ability to forgive others.  We are forgiven for our trespasses, our sins, and we can forgive others who trespass, sin against us.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:  Luke 6:37

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.  Luke 11:4

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Matthew 6:12-15

Forgiveness is not an option with God.  God says if we do not forgive others their sins, neither will God forgive us our sins.  Know this, your unforgiveness separates you from God.

Believers in Jesus have remission of sins

Only God can forgive our sins, no one else.  God is the only ruler in Heaven.  In order to enter into the gates of Heaven, we must be sinless.  Only God can forgive sins, He alone is worthy to sanctify us and make us holy to enter His kingdom.  By putting on Christ, through faith and salvation, we are made worthy, perfect, blameless, righteous and just to spend eternity with God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? Mark 2:7

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)  Mark 2:10

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.  Hebrews 10:14-18

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.  Matthew 26:28

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Acts 2:38

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.  Acts 10:43

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.  Romans 3:23-26

 

Believers of Christ depart from sin

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.  2 Timothy 2:19

 

Believers of Christ repent of sin

Believers of Jesus have salvation assurance because we repent of all sin, turn from sin and turn to God.

By the grace of God we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.  We are saved from sin, we are delivered from sin by Jesus. 

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Ephesians 2:8

Because of salvation we are created in Christ to maintain good works, not to maintain sin.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Willful sin is not practiced by believers of Christ Jesus, but when we inadvertently sin, we must immediately repent of that sin, turn from that sin and earnestly seek forgiveness from God.

Repentance is not confession.  Confession of sin is from the mouth, repentance is action from the heart.

Repentance is pledging to God that I will turn from sin.  Repentance is turning away FROM sin (from following satan), and turning back TO God and following the ways of Christ.

Repentance is turning FROM sin back TO God.

 

Repentance is always change.  If there is no change, then there is no repentance.  Without repentance there is no forgiveness; and without forgiveness there is no salvation.

If you are still committing that sin, you have not repented of that sin and are not forgiven for that sin.  You cannot stop sinning until you repent of sin.

Do not be deceived, without repentance there is NO forgiveness from sin, and without forgiveness from sin there is no salvation from sin.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.  Acts 26:18

Jesus came to this earth to call sinners to repentance and to save the world from sin and death.  If you are still living in sin, committing sin every waking hour, you have not been saved from sin.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  Luke 5:32

All people everywhere must repent of sin, confess sin and turn away from sin, OR PERISH.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.  Luke 13:3

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Acts 2:38

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;  Acts 3:19

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.  Acts 8:22

 

Repentance is not something we do if we feel like it, repentance is commanded by God.  All people everywhere to repent, this includes you and this includes me.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  Acts 17:30

Repentance is turning to God and turning from sin.

But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.  Acts 26:20

Repentance is turning away from sin, away from satan, and turning to God.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.  Acts 26:18

As long as we sin, we must repent. Repentance will not end for us, until we die.

Believers of Christ repent differently than the unbelievers of this world.  A children of the most High God, we repent with godly sorrow from deep within our hearts, sincerely apologizing to God for sinning against Him, and pledging to God to remain pure and not sin.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  2 Corinthians 7:10

God does not want any person in this world to perish in hell, but wants ALL people to come to repentance and obtain salvation.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

God is waiting on you to repent and turn back to Him and receive His forgiveness, but the time is NOW to repent, because no one knows when the Lord Jesus will return and claim His own.  If you wait it might be too late. 

In death there is no repentance to salvation, meaning, after you die it is too late to accept salvation.  There are no second changes for salvation after you die.  You must accept salvation while you are alive, after you die it is too late.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.  Revelation 3:3

Repent TODAY because Jesus is returning soon!!

 


Who does NOT have assurance of salvation?

The lost, unrepentant sinners, the carnal, the unbelieving, the disobedient, the abominable, the wicked, the unrighteous people of this world do NOT have assurance of salvation.

The lost of the world have not yet answered the call of God and do NOT have assurance of salvation.

The unbelieving, the lost are all people who have rejected Christ Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour through faith.  Anyone who rejects Jesus Christ as Lord is not of God and will not be granted entrance into the Kingdom of God after they die.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  1 John 2:22-23

The word of God tells us all that denying Jesus Christ is Lord, denying Jesus is the Christ prophesied in the Holy Bible, denying Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, denying Jesus was sent by God the Father from Heaven above to earth, to be born in the flesh of man, is a liar and an antichrist (1 John 4:3; 2 John 1:7).

Unrepentant sinners, the carnal, the disobedient, the abominable, the unrighteous, have chosen to live in sin, have chosen not to cease from sinning, have chosen not to repent from their sins, have chosen to turn their back on God, have chosen to be disobedient to God, have chosen to live in abomination towards God, have chosen to live unrighteous, have forsaken God, these people do NOT have assurance of salvation.

The unbelieving are all people without faith in God, without faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, they will never see God, they will never enter the gates of Heaven, they will spend eternity separated from God.  The unbelieving do NOT have assurance of salvation.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  1 Corinthians 6:9-10

 

The lost of this world have NO assurance of salvation. 

The unsaved, the lost of this world do NOT have assurance of salvation, because they do NOT believe in Jesus Christ the Lord God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Satan has blinded the minds of the lost, who are ALL people who do NOT believe in Jesus Christ and rejected Him for the saving of their souls.

 

The natural man does NOT have assurance of salvation. 

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  1 Corinthians 2:14

We are all born into this life as the natural man.  To be saved, we must be born again, born into a spiritual man by the Spirit of God, through faith in God.

 

The carnal minded, all people living in sin, do NOT have assurance of salvation. 

We cannot remain carnal sinful and see God.  God says living in sin is death.  People living in sin, having a sinful, flesh seeking, carnal mind is an enemy of God.  Those people living in the flesh, living in sin cannot please God.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  Romans 8:6-8

When we are saved, we are born again into the family of God, and we receive the Spirit of God.  Our sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus and we are made free from sin.  We are not to sin and not to live in sin ever again.

The Spirit of God dwells inside of us, and we are dead to sin because we have become the children of God, by the power of God.

Believers of Christ Jesus die to sin, just like Christ died on the cross to destroy sin and death.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  Romans 8:9-10

The carnal minded who live for the sins of the flesh will die.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  Romans 8:13

This scripture applies to all people.  God is no respecter of persons.  If you are living after the flesh you will die in your sins, no matter who you call yourself.

Jesus is the light.   By the grace of Jesus Christ we are saved.  Through faith in Christ Jesus we are saved and no long abide in the darkness of sin.  Sin and unrighteousness live in darkness with satan.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1 John 1:5-6

No one who lives in sin, who lives in darkness, who walks in darkness, has fellowship with Jesus. 

Unrepentant sin separates anyone from fellowship with Christ Jesus.  If the righteous, the saved, turn away from God to live in sin, forsake the way of Christ, for the wicked ways of this world, perform sin and do not repent of their sin, they will die in their sin, just as if they were never saved.

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  Ezekiel 3:20

The wages of sin is death, to all who live in sin.  There are no exempt passes given by God for sin by anyone.  The word of God has not, cannot, and will not change.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  His word will live forever unchanged.

From the beginning of time God said the wages of sin is death.

 

The unbelieving do NOT have salvation assurance

No one who is unbelieving will see God.

The unbelieving will have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8).

All people who do not believe Jesus is Lord, who do not place their life, their trust in Christ, ALL who do not believe in God, do not have salvation assurance.  There is salvation in only one, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.  Hebrews 3:12

Unbelief separates people from God.  Unbelief separates anyone, no matter who they are, no matter what label they wear, no matter who they say they are, unbelief separates anyone from God.

There is only one way to God, believing in His Son, faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

The one thing that will separate you or anyone from God is unbelief.

That is the reason the word of God was given to humankind, so we might believe in the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ and not perish, not be condemned, not die in hell.

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.  John 20:31

Believing in Jesus is the only way to God.  Eternal life is in only one name Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  1 John 5:11-12

Without belief in Jesus, NO ONE can see God.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13

The reason Christ came to earth, died on a cross, was buried, and was resurrected into new life was so that we could believe on Him and we could receive eternal life, everlasting life in the kingdom of God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  John 3:16-18

 

The disobedient to God do NOT have assurance of salvation.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.  Titus 1:15-16

Who are the defiled and unbelieving?  People who say they know God, who say that are a Christian, who say they are saved, but live unrighteous, they deny God by being abominable, disobedient to God.  Living in sin is NOT living by faith in God; the just shall live by faith.

Many people say that they are a Christian, say that they are saved, say that they know God, but by their disobedience they deny God.

Salvation is not saying you are a Christian, that you are saved, but salvation is believing in Jesus Christ in your heart and soul, and through faith in Jesus, by believing in Christ, we obey God. 

The children of God obey Him because of their salvation.  Obedience to God is the effect of genuine salvation. 

Believers obey God, live holy, live godly, live without sin, and are NOT abominable, are NOT disobedient, do NOT deny Christ, and maintain good works.  Through faith and obedience we know God.

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;  2 Thessalonians 1:7-9

ALL people who do NOT know God, ALL people who do not obey the gospel of Jesus, WILL PERISH in hell for eternity, away from the presence of our LORD God.

It doesn't matter what you call yourself, who you say you are, God looks inside the heart, if you do not believe in Christ - God does NOT know you, and you will not inherit the kingdom of God, you are not saved.  Belief comes from within a person, not from words someone says.

Believing in Christ Jesus is obeying God and living in righteousness.  All people who believe in Christ will receive eternal life, but those people who do not believe by living in unrighteousness and disobedience will never see God.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;  Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.  Romans 2:5-11

We are saved by grace through belief in Christ Jesus; and, we know God by obeying His word, and we obey God because of salvation, not to gain it.

The unbelieving will never see God.  Through faith in God we are saved, by the grace of God.

 

The unrighteous do NOT have salvation assurance.

Those who do NOT surrender ALL of their life to Jesus, do NOT have assurance of their salvation, because they hold onto their life in this sinful world.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.  Luke 14:33

All people who do NOT believe on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and as ruler of their life, all people who do NOT forsake all for Christ, have NO assurance of salvation.

The children of God have salvation assurance because we have surrendered all, forsaken all we have for Christ Jesus.

All people who have NOT denied their self-will and who do NOT obey God's will, who do NOT DO the will of God do NOT have assurance of salvation.

All people who follow their own way and do their own will, instead of following Christ and doing the will of God, do NOT have assurance of salvation.

Unrighteous people do NOT have assurance of salvation, and God says that they will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

ALL people living willfully in sin,  all people who cannot cease from sin, all people serving sin instead of obeying God, all people living in unrighteousness SHALL NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  1 Corinthians 6:9-10

God says DO NOT LIE TO YOURSELF, BE NOT DECEIVED - the unrighteous will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God.

If you are willfully living in sin you are unrighteous, because all unrighteousness is sin.

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.  1 John 5:17

It doesn't matter if you say you are saved, if you are unrighteous, living in sin, willfully sinning, God says DO NOT BE DECEIVED, you will NOT enter Heaven, you will NOT see God when you die, you will be permanently and eternally separated from God and His kingdom.

The unrighteous will be permanently and eternally separated from God.

God has the final word on all people.  God will judge ALL people on how their life was lived.   Whatever a person lives in this life will be what he receives in eternity.  God says ALL people will reap what they sow.

 

The wages of sin is death, the reward of sin is death. 

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

 

The reward of righteousness is life. 

The reward of sin and unrighteousness is death in hell and for eternity and separated from God.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  Galatians 6:7-9

Many people say it doesn't matter how they live their lives, because they say that they are saved, but this is NOT what God says. 

God says BE NOT DECEIVED - GOD IS NOT MOCKED - for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 

People who say that they are saved, but live a life of sin and unrighteousness and do NOT obey His word, those people mock God.  Mocking God is saying you are saved, but NOT DOING God's will.  Mocking God is saying you are saved, but NOT obeying God.

There will be millions of people who will cry out to God and say, "Lord, Lord, but I said I was saved, why can't I enter Heaven?" and God will say "Depart from me, I never knew you".  Don't let this be YOU.   Repent from sin and obey God, follow Jesus.

Saying you are saved, telling people you are a Christian, but living a lifestyle full of sin and unrighteousness is mocking God. 

When you say to God, "Hey, look God, I can call myself saved and a Christian, but I don't have to obey you, and I sin", this is mocking God.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.   Matthew 7:21

DO NOT BE DECEIVED, only those people who believe in Jesus by DOING the will of God will enter heaven.  Saying is NOT DOING

There is NOT one scripture in the word of God, that tell us that all we have to do to enter heaven is to SAY that we are saved, or SAY that we are a Christian.   We are saved by the grace of God through faith in God, not words to God.

Words will not get anyone into Heaven, belief from the heart and soul in Christ Jesus is the only way to enter God's Kingdom.

If you couldn't speak one word, if you could not utter one syllable, but you believe with all your heart in Jesus, if you have faith in God, you can be saved and receive eternal life. 

All throughout the word of God scriptures tell us we must DO the will of God to be saved, we must obey God to be saved, by DOING what He says in His word, which is to obtain salvation through faith in God AND hold onto faith all the days of our lives.

Belief, faith in God for all the days of our lives is required to receive God's gift of salvation and eternal life.

"He that doeth the will of God" - Notice that the word of God does NOT say those who did (past tense) the will of God will enter heaven, but God said those who DO (present tense) the will of God will enter heaven.  

NO past experience with God will be accepted.  NO past experience with God will save anyone from hell.

Even satan at onetime did the will of God.  Even satan served God in the past.  Satan and the angels that followed him away from God, lost their belief in God, the forsake God, they turned away from God, they abandoned their faith in God, they entered into unbelief and sinned against God.  Satan and all the angels that followed him into unbelief are eternally separated from God.

Satan and all the angels that followed satan and all the people of this world that follows satan, all unbelievers will NOT be in Heaven for eternity, but will be eternally separated from God.

All people who follow unbelief will be eternally cut off from God, separated from God for eternity.

Unbelief separates anyone from God.  (Romans 11:20; Hebrews 3:12; 4:6; 4:11)

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:19

If God can separate Himself from His own angels that forsake him, ALL people who remain in unbelief will separated from God.

No one with unbelief in their hearts will ever see God.  Only people with saving faith will see the Kingdom of God.

God will not make you believe, to believe or not is our choice.  God does not force Himself on anyone.  Receiving salvation is a choice every human being makes by themselves.

Unless we come to God with unwavering faith and believe in His Son, Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour of our life, turning our back to the devil and sin, removing sin from our lives, committing our life to serve only Christ, to follow Jesus all the days of our lives, we cannot be saved.

Only believers of Christ Jesus will be in heaven.  The residents of Heaven, the Kingdom of God, are ONLY believers of God, only the saved in Christ Jesus.  We become the children of God by faith in Jesus.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Do NOT be deceived, YOU must have a current personal relationship with God in order to enter heaven.  You must know God and God must know you to have a relationship with Him.  Your personal relationship with God is required and your relationship must be with God the day you die.

Hearing the will of God is NOT doing the will of God

Knowing the will of God is NOT doing the will of God

Even the devil knows the will of God, but he does NOT DO the will of God, that is why in the end, satan will be cast into hell to spend eternity without God.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  Revelation 20:10

Doing the will of God is action

Doing the will of God is following Christ, denying self will and following God's will in our lives for all the days of our lives.  Serving God and NOT serving the lusts of our flesh. 

Doing the will of God is obeying God and serving God.  Serving God is repenting from sin, which is turning away from sin, serving God is NOT sinning

Doing the will of God is saying NO to sin, departing from sin in the world, separating ourselves from the lusts and sins of this world.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  Matthew 7:22-23

Far too many people in this world are under the misconception that all they need to do is say that they are a Christian, or say that they are saved and God will grant them entrance into Heaven.  This is NOT what is written in the word of God.

God says we have assurance we are the children of God and that we will inherit the kingdom of God by our fruits, what is produced out of our lives, the righteousness of God that comes out of us.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  Matthew 7:17-20

The children of God have fruits of righteousness of God.  The children of God obey God.  The children of God are obedient to God.

The children of the devil are disobedient to God.  The children of the devil do NOT obey God.  If we are unrighteous we are NOT of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.  1 John 3:10

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.  1 John 3:8

 

The will of God is to obtain salvation and hold onto our salvation until the Lord returns (or we die whichever comes first).

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  1 Thessalonians 5:9

The will of God is that we take up our cross daily and follow Christ every day and for the rest of our lives

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  Luke 9:23

When we take up our cross we deny our selfish ways, the surrender our self, and we follow the will of God, we follow the ways of Christ, which is righteousness and NOT sin. 

Taking up our cross is putting sin to death in your life, as Jesus did, and living righteously for God. 

Taking up your cross is saying NO to sin and lusts of life in the world, saying NO to the ways of the world, and saying YES to Christ.

Taking up your cross is saying Yes Jesus, I pledge my life to obedience to YOU alone, Yes Jesus I surrender all my life to you - every part of my life to you.  Yes Jesus, I promise to follow after you, to worship only you, to DO your will, and not to do my will.

Unless we surrender all of our life to Jesus Christ we cannot obtain salvation.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Luke 9:24

We must lose our life, give away our earthly life, in order to save our life, to receive heavenly eternal life.

Those who hold onto their sinful life in this world, will lose their life in the end.  If we give away our life in this sinful world to Christ Jesus, our life will be saved in the end, we will receive eternal life through Christ Jesus.

Eternity is forever, what does it gain to hold onto our sinful life and live in sin in this short life here on earth, when we have all of eternity to live.

Our mortal, earthly life is as a blink of an eye, compared to eternity.  If we live to be 100 years old here on earth, it is still nothing compared to the 10,000 years times 10,000 years of eternity.

Every person living and dead, will exist for eternity.  We all have a choice where we will spend our eternity, eternity with God or eternity without God.

What shall it gain a person to save his live here on earth but lose it for eternity?  What is 100 years compared to eternity?

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:26

All the wealth, position, power of the world cannot even begin to compare to being in the presence of our Lord God for eternity.

Are you willing to exchange 100 years of life here on earth, in exchange for a million years, for eternity with God?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.  Mark 8:35

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  Mark 8:36

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?  Luke 9:25

Please don't cast yourself into hell for eternity by hanging onto sin in this world.  Get rid of your sin, turn to Jesus, surrender your life to Him, exchange your 100 years here on this earth for an eternity with God in heaven.

The few years we have here is nothing, a vapor of time, compared to eternity.

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  James 4:14

Who doesn't have assurance of Salvation?  The fearful and unbelieving and unfaithful do NOT have assurance of salvation.

What will happen to all those fearful and unbelieving people?  Their choice of NOT to believe in Christ Jesus has cast themselves into hell without God for eternity.  The unbelieving people of the world cast themselves into hell.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.  Revelation 21:8

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.  Revelation 21:27

 


How do I know that I am saved?

Is there anyway to be 100% sure of salvation? 

Is there any way that I can know for sure, that I am saved and will receive everlasting live in the kingdom of God?  Yes, God says that there is assurance of salvation.

The word of God gives us both:

  • The plan of Salvation                AND
  • Assurance of our salvation.

Many people sometime in their life have asked the same question:

How do I know that I am saved?  We all want assurance of our own salvation.

The word of God gives us many ways to prove that we are truly saved.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13

With this scripture, we can see that the word of God was written for the purpose that we may:  

  1. Have faith in God - Believe on the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ                  AND
  2. Have assurance - We may KNOW that we have eternal life.

 

God wants all His children to KNOW that they have eternal life, and for us to have blessed assurance of salvation.

These things has God written for us ALL to KNOW we have eternal life because we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord.

Throughout the entire word of God, there are scriptures that give believers, the faithful, the followers of Christ, confidence and assurance of salvation.

 

What is NOT found in the word of God, is any scripture to support the theory that any past experience of faith guarantees salvation.  No past belief can save anyone.  Assuming that we have eternal life based on any past experience or previous faith is incorrect.

To receive eternal life Jesus says we must believe in Him now, we must trust and have faith in God today.

 

Eternal life is having a current and personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.

My eternal life is my current personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Salvation is NOT based on a past relationship with Jesus.  Faith is God is continual, never ending.

The word of God states over and over again, those who fall away, turn their backs on God, let go of their faith, abandon their faith in God, those who turn away from God and do NOT repent of their sins, the unbelieving will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God, and will NOT receive eternal life.

Faith and obedience to God is a current, daily and lifelong commitment of salvation.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;  Hebrew 5:9

Being made perfect, Jesus is the author of eternal salvation, to ALL people that obey him.

Is Jesus Christ the Lord of your life?  Are you living in obedience to God?

But you may say, I thought salvation is not obtained by works, it is a gift from God, isn't obedience to God is works?  

Yes, salvation is the gift from God and is not obtained by works.  But do not be deceived, God also says faith without works is dead.  True faith produces good works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

 

Obedience to God is not works, we are not saved by works, we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Lord Jesus Christ. 

Obedience is a gift received from God through faith and salvation in Lord Jesus Christ. 

Faith and obedience is from God, just like salvation is from God.  The children of God, obey God because of salvation, not to obtain salvation.

Love, Grace, Faith, Obedience, Salvation, Mercy and good works are ALL gifts from God to us through Lord Jesus Christ.

God gives all things to His children.  We have all things because of the grace and mercy of God.  We receive all good things from God.  We have nothing that was not given to us by God. 

We have love because God first loved us, by His grace and His mercy He continues to love us.  God is love.  Love is a gift from God.

Grace is a gift from God. 

 

By the grace of God:

  • We have love
  • We have faith
  • We obtain salvation
  • We are saved
  • We obey God
  • We are able to receive eternal life
  • We are able to hold onto our salvation
  • We are able to endure until the end
  • We are able to do good works
  • We have grace
  • We are able to have abundant life
  • We inherit the Kingdom of God
  • We receive all good things

 

We have faith by the grace of God.  We obtain salvation by the grace of God.  By grace we are saved.  We obey God because of salvation, by the grace of God through faith in Lord Jesus Christ.  Through faith and obedience to God we are able to hold onto our salvation and endure until the end of our days.

By the grace of God, we are saved through faith in Lord Jesus Christ.

Through salvation and the manifestation of Jesus Christ abiding IN us, we will produce good works, because we are created IN Him. 

As long as Jesus Christ lives IN us, God abides IN us, we will show forth good works. 

Evil works cannot come from God.  It is impossible for Christ Jesus to produces evil works in us, because He is not evil.  Only good works are produced through us by our Lord Christ Jesus.

We are created in Christ Jesus unto good works, thoroughly furnished until all good works, a pattern of good works, zealous of good works, and maintaining good works, which glorify God.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  Matthew 5:16

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 1 Timothy 6:18

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  2 Timothy 3:17

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,  Titus 2:7

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.  Titus 2:14

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.  Titus 3:14

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Hebrews 10:24

Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.  1 Peter 2:12

 

The scripture doesn't say "IF they shall behold", it says "WHICH they shall behold", knowing that the children of God DO produce good works, which all shall behold and glorify God.

Good works are a result of salvation, not the cause of it.  True salvation produces good works, because we are reborn, born-again, created into a new creature, created IN Christ Jesus unto good works.

 


What are some assurances of salvation?

God gives ALL His children assurance of their salvation.  All throughout the Word of God there are scriptures giving salvation assurance.  There is evidence who are the children of God and who are saved and who have received eternal life from God.

Assurances of Salvation:

  1. Love the Lord our God with all our heart
  2. Love one another
  3. Abide in Christ; Have a relationship with Christ
  4. Have peace
  5. Remain separated from the world and sin

  6. Have stedfastness of faith; I will endure until the end

  7. Confess Jesus is Lord
  8. Believe Christ Jesus came in the flesh
  9. Believe Christ Jesus was crucified, died for the sins of the world, was buried, raised Himself from the dead, ascended to Heaven and lives for ever
  10. Believe Jesus Christ forgives all sins
  11. Put all faith and trust into the Godhead
  12. Worship and pray to the One True Living God
  13. Keep God's commandments
  14. Hold onto your salvation unto the end
  15. Live godly, holy and righteously in truth and love and peace
  16. Believe on the name of JESUS
  17. Confess and Repent of all sins
  18. Choose NOT to sin; Overcome sin
  19. Accepted and received Jesus Christ into our heart
  20. Surrender all to Christ
  21. Forgive All for All
  22. Do the will of God; Continue in obedience to God
  23. Wait, watch and pray for the return of Christ Jesus

 

I love the Lord my God with all my heart

Do you know what is the first and great commandment?

Do you love Jesus with all your heart?  Do you have a deep, heartfelt love for the author of your salvation?  Do you love your Lord, your God, your Saviour with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  Matthew 22:37-38

 

Loving God today and every day is our highest priority as a child of God.

When we love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength, we will DO the will of God, we will walk in His ways and we will cleave and abide in Him.

Loving God keeps us away from evil.  Do you need to be delivered out of sin, out of the hands of the wicked? God promises to preserve the souls of the saints that love Him.

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.  Psalm 97:10

But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.  Joshua 22:5

 

When we love the LORD our God we will:

  • Walk in ALL His ways; DO the will of God
  • Keep ALL His commandments
  • Cleave unto Him; Abide in Him
  • Serve Him with ALL our heart and with ALL our soul

 

Loving God never ends

We are to remain in the love of God and continue in the love of Jesus.  The children of God do not quit loving God, they love Him all the days of their lives.

How can we abide in the love of Jesus?  God says by keeping His word we will abide in His love.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.  John 15:9-10

 

Jesus wants us all to have full joy.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.  John 15:11-12

 

God is love and God loves us.  He loved us first, before anyone did.  We love God because He first loved us

We love him, because he first loved us.  1 John 4:19

We didn't love God first, how could we, He was before we were born.  He loved us first, before the world began.

The love of God is beyond our understanding.  We know God loves His own, and we love Him.  All love is from God, because God is love.  We are able to love because of God.

 

Abide in Christ

The dictionary defines abide as to remain stable or fixed in a state; to continue in a place; sojourn; continue; dwell.

When we abide in Christ we remain in Christ forever.

Salvation is NOT temporarySalvation is eternal and abiding in Christ is eternal.

Abiding in Christ is permanent, not temporary.

Abiding in Christ is NOT visiting a church on Sunday.  Abiding in Christ is NOT listening to a sermon.  Abiding in Christ is NOT visiting God when you have nothing better to do.  Abiding in Christ is NOT saying rehearsed prayers.  Abiding in Christ is NOT telling others that you are a Christian.  Abiding in Christ is NOT reading a Bible.

Abiding in Christ is living in Christ daily, abiding in Christ every day, fellowship and communication with Jesus.

When we surrender our life to God, give our life to Christ, believe in Jesus, when we are saved, God gives us eternal life and abides in us.  Through salvation we put on Christ.   We put on the righteousness and holiness of God.

When we are saved, we claim Christ for our life and Christ claims us.  We are His and He is our God.  Through my faith, my belief in Christ, through obeying God, God becomes responsible for my life.

When we love God and keep His words, we abide in Him and He abides in us.  God will make abode with His children.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.  John 14:23-24

My faith in my Lord God is immoveable and abides forever.

They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.  Psalm 125:1

When we trust the Lord for our lives, when we put our lives in the hands of God, when we surrender ALL we have to Christ Jesus, we abide in Christ satisfied.

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.  Proverbs 19:23

When we believe in Christ, have faith in God, and received eternal life, we are NOT to live in sin, we are NOT to abide in darknessChrist is the Light, Jesus saved us from sin and death, why would we abide in darkness any longer?

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.  1 John 3:6

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.  John 12:46

 

Nothing without Christ.

We can do nothing without Christ.  We can do all things through Christ Jesus.

 

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  John 15:4-6

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Philippians 4:13

 

How can we abide in Christ?  By DOING the will of God we will abide in Christ.  By keeping the commandments of God we dwell in Him and He is us.  By loving one another God dwells in us.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.  John 15:10

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.  1 John 3:24

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.  1 John 4:12-13

 

We cannot be saved unless we abide in Christ Jesus.  Through faith in God we are saved, by the grace of God, and we must remain in faith, live by faith all the days of our lives.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.  Acts 27:31

If we say that we abide in Christ, we will walk in the ways of Christ.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.  1 John 2:6

How did Christ walk?  Christ walked in love and forgiveness to all people and without sin in holiness and righteousness.  We are to live and be Holy, because Christ Jesus is Holy.

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.  Romans 11:16

 

We are never to stop abiding in Christ.  We are to continue abiding in Christ.

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.  1 John 2:24-25

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.  1 John 2:27-28

 

Why should we abide Christ all the days of our lives?  Because when Christ returns, when He shall appear, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Fellowship with Christ is abiding with Him. (1 John 1:6)

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.  1 Corinthians 1:9

 

I have peace

When we receive true salvation from God we are promised peace and we receive peace in our lives through Christ.  Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

I still have struggles and difficulties in my life, but along with them is peace from God.  I know that nothing that can happen to me, can take away my salvation and take away the peace in my life.  No matter what state of life I am in I am content, through my faith in God.  I am sanctified by the God of Peace.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  Philippians 4:9,11

Even though I have heartache and pain sometimes in my life, even when I struggle, I know that my Lord God is always with me and everything in my life has purpose and I trust in Jesus to help me through every season of my life.

I gave my life to Jesus.  My life is in the hands of God, I seek after God, I obey God and my life belongs to God and no one or nothing can take my life away from God.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.  I and my Father are one.  John 10:27-30

 

I gave my life to Jesus, He owns my life, I don't.  I gave Him my life and He gave me eternal life with Him forever.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.   John 16:33

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:   Romans 5:1

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.   Romans 8:6

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.   Philippians 4:7

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.   Colossians 3:15

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:   Hebrews 12:14

 

I separate myself from sin and lusts of the world

When I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, I denied my self will to follow and obey the will of God, for the rest of my life.

When we are saved, we invite Jesus to be the ruler over ALL we have, over every part of our lives.  I accepted Jesus to be number one in my life over ALL things.

Through the power of God, I daily separate myself from sin.  Christ Jesus is the ruler of my life, NOT sin.

Before we are saved, we sin on purpose; and then, after we are saved, we do NOT sin on purpose

Through Christ, I daily separate myself from the lusts of this wicked world.

I surrender ALL of my life to Jesus.  I give my complete life to God forever.  My life is not lived to the desires of my flesh, but I live my life to the desires of God.

Through the power of Christ Jesus, I am able to deny my self-will and follow God's will in my life.

I choose Christ instead of choosing the world.  I choose to follow the ways of my Lord God, instead of following the ways of the world, the sin of the world.

Daily I surrender all to God, daily I die to sin to live in Christ forever.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Luke 9:23-24

My salvation is eternal and my belief in Jesus Christ is eternal and my faith and commitment to my Lord God is eternal and my obedience to my Father God is eternal.

 

I have stedfastness of faith in Jesus Christ

My faith is not something I experienced when I was a child and received salvation and then forgot about.

My faith is never ending and daily.  Throughout my life I have at times slipped away from God, backslide away from God, but I never gave up my faith in God.  Through godly sorrow, each time I came back to God, He forgave my sins, my trespasses against Him, He loving healed my broken heart and wrapped me in the comfort of His love.  Through my repentance and His forgiveness, I am back on the straight and narrow path to the Kingdom of God.  My faith in God is everlasting, my salvation is eternal through my faith in Christ Jesus.  Through earnest prayer and commitment, I will never slide away again, from the loving arms of my Lord and Saviour.  I am committed to remain steadfast in faith of my God forevermore.

Steadfastness is defined in the dictionary as firmly fixed in place; immovable; not subject to change; firm in belief, determination or adherence; loyal; faithful.

Our faith in Jesus Christ must be stedfast, our faith in God must be firmly fixed in place and immovable, not subject to change.  We must stand firm in our belief.

In order for our faith to grow stronger, we must use our faith daily, we must exercise our faith daily, and hold onto our faith until the end.

Too many people think their faith is something they had or needed when they were initially saved and now since they are saved they do not need faith anymore.  This is not what is written in the word of God.

Our salvation is our faith in Jesus Christ.  Without our faith in God we cannot see God.

The results of NOT holding onto your faith, of NOT holding onto your salvation is explained in the word of God through the parable of the sower.

The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.  And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:  And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.  Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 13:1-9

 

The disciples asked Jesus what this parable meant.

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.  Matthew 13:18

 

God is telling us about different types of people.

The first group of people (wayside) are those who receive the word of God, which is if they believe in Jesus with all their heart they will be saved, but they do not understand - their hearts are easily turned back - they do not have enduring faith to be saved.

The second group of people (stony) are those people who receive the word of God - and anon (immediately) with joy receive it, which is if they believe in Jesus Christ with all their heart they will be saved.  These people do believe for a little while, but without any root, when troubles come they are offended and they let go of their faith in God and are not saved.

The third group of people (thorns) are those people who receive the word of God, which is if they believe in Jesus with all their heart they will be saved.  These people believe for a little while and are on the right track but when the cares of the world, their busy lives, their lifestyles take priority over God and become more important than their faith in Jesus.  These people want to hold onto their old life and hold onto God, too.  These people can't let go, they cannot surrender all to God, and fall away from God and are not saved.

The forth group of people (good ground) are those people who receive the word of God, which is if they believe in Jesus with all their heart they will be saved.  These people believe - seek and pursue God - through prayerful study of His Word and through the Holy Spirit are taught and understand the word of God, they ground, root their faith in Jesus by doing the will of God. These people are steadfast in their faith, they cling to their faith in God, they hold onto their faith and don't let it go - no matter what - they and are truly saved.

 

I confessed and believe God raised Jesus from the dead

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Romans 10:10

Salvation is not received through words, salvation is received through the heart, we must believe in our heart that God is all that He says He is.  Saying certain words do not save anyone.  Salvation is received by receiving Christ Jesus into your heart, through faith. 

Salvation is a change of heart, turning from your old way of living in sin and turning to a new of living in Christ, living a life of holiness and righteousness, living without sin in your life.

 

I believe Jesus Christ can and will forgive my sins

Only God can forgive sins.  No one else on this earth can forgive anyone of sins. 

The Holy Word of God reads that only God has the power to forgive sins.

If someone other than God, told you that your sins are forgiven, they are a liar, because only the one true living God can forgive anyone of their sins.

Do not be deceived by vain words from any person, believe God.

 

I put all my faith and trust into the Godhead

All my faith and trust is in the eternal Godhead, who is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, and these three are one God and the only one true living God.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  1 John 5:7

Jesus Christ is the Word, the only begotten Son of God, and God Himself manifested in the flesh.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  John 1:14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.   John 1:1

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.  1 Timothy 3:16

 

I worship and pray to the one and only true God

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.  Jeremiah 10:10

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.  1 John 5:20

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.  James 2:19

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  Exodus 20:3-5

For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:  Exodus 34:14

And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.  Deuteronomy 8:19

 

God tells us to watch out, take heed, that our hearts are not deceived, and turn away from God and worship and serve other gods.

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;  Deuteronomy 11:16

And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:  And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.  2 Kings 21:21-22

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.  1 Chronicles 16:29

The first commandment God gave us was, "thou shalt have no other gods before me".  The second commandment from God is that we are not to make any images of anyone or anything in the earth, in the heaven, or in the sea. We are not to bow down to any image, none. 

All people who participate in idol worship, bow to statues, pray to statues, desire statues, make them, own them, or view them, all these people will face the wrath of God.

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:30-31

God will judge all people one day for all that we have done.  All those people who view statues, worship statues, own statues, will face the wrath of the God Almighty.

God wants us to worship Him alone, no one else, nothing else.  God does NOT want us to worship Him through any image, especially not one of Himself.  God wants us to have faith in Him alone, not through worshipping anything that we can see.

I believe in the resurrection and eternal life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:  Romans 1:4

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Romans 6:5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  1 Peter 1:3

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.  Revelation 1:18

Jesus is He that liveth AND was dead AND is alive for evermore.  By destroying death with His resurrection, Jesus holds the keys of hell and of death.

 

 

I believe and confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.  1 John 4:15

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.  Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  1 John 5:4-5

 

I have faith and believe in Jesus Christ and hold onto my faith

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.  1 John 3:23

I am saved by God's grace through believing in Jesus Christ.  My faith is precious and I will hold onto my faith every day until the end.  By doing the will of God, I hold onto my faith.

We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God.  That's it, nothing more and nothing less.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Ephesians 2:8

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.  Acts 16:31

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.  Acts 15:11

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:  Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:7-9

 

I keep God's commandments

No one receives the salvation of God from being "good" or by keeping God's commandments, we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

The children of God keep God's commandments because of salvation, not to gain it.  Believers obey God because of salvation, never to gain it.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.  1 John 2:3-6

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.  1 John 5:2-3

 

The grace of God saves us, not anything that we can do for God.  Our works cannot save us.  Anyone's works cannot save them.  We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God alone we are saved.

The is NOT one scripture in the Holy Word of God, even hinting that we are saved by our own works, but there are many, many scriptures that give us detailed explanations of why we are NOT saved by our works, and that we are only saved through faith in God by the grace of God.

I will hold onto my salvation unto the end

Through the grace of God I am able to hold onto my faith, my salvation unto the end.  "Unto the end" of what?  Unto the end of my life, or unto the end when Christ Jesus returns, whichever comes first.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;  Hebrews 3:14

Salvation is eternal and my faith is eternal and my obedience to my God is eternal.

We must have faith in God, when we die, in order to see God.  Without faith in God, no one will see God.

 

I believe in Jesus and I have been baptized in water

I believe in the name of Jesus and I have been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  Mark 16:16

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Matthew 28:19

God asked that we be baptized to show the world that we are saved.  Baptism is an outward sign, to confess our belief in Jesus and say to all people that we have surrendered our whole life to Christ Jesus.

Please note, if a person is NOT baptized this does NOT mean that they are NOT saved.  We are saved by believing in Jesus, not by baptism.  We are saved by faith in Jesus to salvation, not faith in water baptism.  There are many reasons why a person may not be able to be baptized, and this would never prevent them from receive the salvation of God.   Unbelief is the only thing that separates anyone from God. 

If you are never baptized, you can still receive salvation.  If you are never baptized, you can still be saved and become a child of God, because we are the children of God through faith in Christ Jesus, not through baptism.

The word of God states that he that believeth NOT shall be damned.  The scriptures does NOT say he that is not baptized shall be damned.

Baptism is a outward testimony of my faith in Christ Jesus and lifelong commitment to God to come out of this sinful world, to live a life separated from sin and the lusts of this world. 

Baptism is our personal and lifelong pledge we belong to Christ, that we choose Christ over sin and our desires, that we died with Christ and was risen with Him to a new live serving Christ and walking in His ways and not the ways of this world. 

Baptism is an obedient expression of our repentance, our turning from living a life in sin serving the devil, to living a righteous and holy life without sin, and living for God and turning to God, and obeying God for the rest of our lives.

We are to obey the word of God and God asked that we be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.  We are to be baptized in ALL of these three names, because these three are one God.

 

I called on Jesus and believe on the NAME of JESUS

There is NO OTHER name by which you are saved.   No other name can save anyone.

We are saved by calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Acts 2:21

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  Acts 4:12

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  John 10:9

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the one and only door to salvationEveryone must enter through the door, who is Jesus Christ, to be with God, and to receive salvation, which is eternal life.

 

I confessed and repented of my sins

I confess all my sins, call on Jesus and ask for forgiveness of sins, believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to cleanse me of sin and repent of all sins, turn away from all sin.

When I received salvation, with all my whole heart and godly sorrow, I confessed to Jesus I was a sinner, I asked forgiveness of all my sins, and I repented of my sins, I turned away from sin.  

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  2 Corinthians 7:10

Repentance is turning away from sin.  You can't say you repented of sin and continue in sin, living in sin is NOT true repentance.

I choose NOT to sin

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.  1 John 3:6

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.  1 John 5:18

There are many ways to have knowledge of the assurance of your salvation, but, if I had to state only one proof of salvation, one way to have 100% assurance of salvation, it is proven by the change in my life. 

Salvation always brings change

True salvation from God always results in a change of life.  We turn from living in sin to living in God

No one can receive salvation and begin living in God without experiencing changes in their life.

Through the blood of Jesus Christ we are cleansed from all sin and we are regenerated and transformed into a new personTransformation is change.

Sin has lost its hold on us and its place in our lives.  Sin does NOT fit in our lives anymore.  Sin will not look or feel the same anymore.

Sin will NOT be comfortable any longer because Jesus lives inside the children of God, dwells in us, abides in our heart and in our soul.  We have the Spirit of God dwelling in us and sin cannot live where God lives.

 

Sin cannot live where God lives.

Salvation transforms everyone into a new creature, old things are passed away and buried, and ALL things in our life become new, because we became born again.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

ALL things become new in our lives because we are not looking at the world, we are not looking at our life, through the eyes of a sinner anymore, we are looking at our life and the world through the eyes of Christ Jesus.  We become holy because God is Holy.

Sin that we did NOT see before, through dark and cloudy eyes of a sinner, we can now see clearly because the Light of Christ shines through us, and illuminates sin. 

Sin is no longer hid in our life.  Sin in our life stands out like a blinking neon sign

The saved in Christ cannot avoid being convicted of sin, because we serve Christ and are a child of God.   The Spirit of God convicts our spirit of sin.

The word of God tells us that whosoever is born again, everyone who is born of God, sinneth NOT

Sin is NOT acceptable to the children of God.  Sin cannot be tolerated by a child of God.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.  1 John 3:6

Do not be deceived.  No one can walk with God and live in sin.  

The word of God reads that no one can be a child of God and live in sin.   If you think or say you are saved, but live in sin, live a life of continual, willful, purposeful sin, the word of God reads that you are NOT one of His, and you will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God, you will perish and cast into hell, separated from God for eternity.

Being a child of God we will not willfully sin (sin on purpose). 

Being a child of God, our spirit convicts us immediately when we sin inadvertently (not on purpose).  When we sin inadvertently we are to confess our sin and repent of sin and ask Jesus for forgiveness of sin.

Sin is removed from the lives of the children of God.

I continually confess and repent of my sins.

Because I am saved by the grace of God through my faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, I do NOT willfully sin, I do NOT sin on purpose. 

Willful sin is planning sin and performing sin on purpose.  Willful sin is knowing something is sin, but doing it anyway.

Now that I am saved, when I inadvertently sin, I confess and repent of my sins. 

If I inadvertently sin, I confess my sin to Jesus and ask for forgiveness of my sin and immediately repent, turn from that sin.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  1 John 2:1

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9

The children of God do NOT willfully sin and do NOT live in sin.

Confession and repentance are different; two different actions, God says that we are to perform when we sin.

Confession is admitting our sin.  Confession is when we confess our sin by saying to God that we have sinned against Him.  Confession is admitting to God we have sinned against Him.  Confession is acknowledging our sin to God.  Confession is us telling God that we know that we have sinned.  We confess we have sinned toward God and seek His forgiveness.

When we confess that we have sinned to God, we are acknowledging our sin.  We are bringing our sin out in the open, we are seeing our sin (as God sees our sin), we are confessing to God that we know by committing this sin that we have sinned against God.

When we confess our sins to God, we pray and ask God with all our heart to forgive us of our sin and then we repent of this sin.  When we repent of sin we are pledging to God that we will not commit this sin ever again. 

Repentance is turning away from sin and turning back to God by NOT sinning.

Repentance is the act of repenting.  Saying that we repent is NOT repentance.  Repentance is action, the action of turning away from sin.

The action taken when we repent is repentanceIf there is NO action, by us turning away from sin, then we have NOT repented.

Repentance is pledging to God that we will NOT commit sin again, that we turn away from sin, AND then doing what we say, which is NOT SINNING. 

Repentance is change, a change of heart and a lifestyle change by turning away from sin in our lives.

 

Confession and repentance are both required by God, for forgiveness of sin.

  1. One is verbal, saying we have sin, which is confession.
  2. The other is action, change, turning away from sin, which is repentance.

 

God commands that ALL people everywhere repent of sin, turn away from sin. 

Forsaking sin, turning from sin, repentance is not optional with God.

Without both, confession AND repentance, we CANNOT receive forgiveness of sin or salvation.

With both, confession AND repentance, we CAN receive forgiveness for sin and receive salvation.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.  Acts 17:30-31

 

Through Christ, I am an overcomer

I have assurance of my salvation because I have overcome sin, through faith in Christ Jesus.

Through salvation and with the power of God, which God gives to all His children, we can overcome the sins and lusts of the world.

Because Jesus Christ overcome the world and overcome sin and overcome death, if we follow and obey Him, we can also overcome the world, overcome sin and overcome death.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  John 16:33

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  1 John 5:4-5

Those who through Christ overcome the world will be given eternal life.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.  Revelation 2:7

Those who overcome, through Christ, will not be cast into hell, which is the second death.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.  Revelation 2:11

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  Revelation 3:5

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  Revelation 3:21

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  Revelation 21:7

 

I believe God sent His Son to die for our sins

I believe God sent His Son to die for ALL the sins of ALL people of the world, so all people could be saved and not perish in hell.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Romans 5:8-11

I believe that I am reconciled to God by the death of Jesus, and through the resurrection of Jesus I will live eternally with God.

 

I received Jesus into my heart

We know that we are saved because we received Jesus into our hearts as our own personal Lord and Saviour over our lives.  Jesus is the truth.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  1 Timothy 2:4-6

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  2 Thessalonians 2:10

 

I will endure until the end

The scriptures tells us if we follow Christ until the end, if we obey God until the end, if we hold onto our salvation until the end, guard it and protect it, live the way of Christ, if we endure until the end we will be saved.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.  Matthew 10:22

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  Matthew 24:13

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  Mark 13:13

NOTICE that God said ALL who endure until the end shall be saved, NOT those who endure temporarily or for a little while or for a few years.

ALL people receive their salvation personally from the LORD God at the end of their life, so we must ALL endure, hold onto our faith in God until the end, obey God until the end of our lives to receive our crown of Life, our salvation, from our Lord God.

Through the power of Christ, we can hold onto our salvation, hold onto our faith, and we can endure until the end.

By grace in God through faith in God we are saved.  By the grace of God, we are saved through faith in God.  Without faith in God you cannot see God. 

Salvation assurance is revealed to all the children of God who hold onto their faith in God until the end.

 

I submit my life to Jesus Christ

When we accept Jesus into our hearts, to be our Lord and Saviour of our life, when we receive salvation, we give Jesus all of our life, all our self, we surrender all to Him.  By giving our life to Christ, Jesus gives us eternal life.

I give my life, my all, completely to Jesus Christ.  I surrender all to Jesus.

When we receive salvation we deny self and serve Christ.

I deny myself and serve Christ and follow Christ daily.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.  Luke 9:23-24

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.  1 John 2:3-6

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.  Colossians 3:24

 

We are to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Christ daily.

To deny self means to live our pleasing God, NOT ourselves. 

To deny self means that we do NOT please ourselves, but we live to please God.  Our purpose, our mission in life is to please God. 

We are to be like God, like Christ by living a holy life

We are to permanently separate ourselves from the sin of the world and from ungodly people and from an ungodly world. 

We are to live our whole lifetime committed to Christ, committed to obeying God, for love, service and worship of God for eternity.

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.  1 Peter 1:16

Jesus is the root of the tree of Life, and the children of God are the branches.  Since Jesus is Holy we are His Holy branches.  We are holy because we are of God who is Holy.

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.  Romans 11:16

ALL children of God are to be holy.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.  Ephesians 1:4-6

If we do not live holy, we are NOT following Christ.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  James 4:7

 

I forgive everyone

I forgive those who have sinned against me.

When we love the Lord our God with all our heart, and all our soul, and all our mind, and all our strength, His love through us allows us to forgive anyone for anything.

When we become a child of God, we are given the power of God to overcome anything.

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENS ME.   Philippians 4:13

This scripture should be the motto of every believer of Christ Jesus.

Without Jesus we are nothing and can do nothing, but with Jesus we can do ALL THINGS.

Forgiveness is NOT an option with God.  We must forgive, to be forgiven.  We must forgive from our heart ALL people who have wronged us, sinned against us, sinned against God, in order for our sins to be forgiven by God.

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.  Matthew 18:35

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Matthew 6:14-15

 

Forgive and forget

We must forgive others, as Christ forgave us.  Forgive and forget the sins others have committed against us, just as Christ Jesus forgives and forgets our sins.  True forgiveness is forgetting the sin when we forgive the sin.

Holding a grudge against any person for anything is NOT from God.  Vengeance is God's right, not ours.  It does NOT matter what the reason, there are no exceptions with God, we must forgive all people for all things.

The devil wants to keep us chained to our hurt, and to remain in the bondage of sin.  Remember the devil will do anything in his power to separate you from God.  Separating you from God for eternity, is the main goal of satan.

When you hate any person and hold a grudge you are NOT following the will of God, and you are separated from God, alienated from God.  Holding hate in your heart for any person does NOT hurt the person you are mad at, your hate only hurts yourself.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  Mark 11:25

Note, if we do NOT forgive all people for all things, then our Father God in Heaven will NOT forgive us.  Without forgiveness of our sins, we will be separated from God for eternity.

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.  Mark 11:26

God is the only judge of men, we are NOT to judge anyone in their sin.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:  Luke 6:37

In the Lord's Prayer, we are given an example on how to pray.  In this prayer, it says "forgive us our sins, as we ALSO forgive everyone that sins against us".

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  Matthew 6:12

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.  Luke 11:4

We are to forgive everyone for everything because God forgave us.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.   Ephesians 4:32

I love everyone

I love everyone because the love of God lives inside of me.  Because of the love of God, I can forgive everyone and love everyone.

God is love and He shows us how we are to love one another.  We are to love one another as God has loved us.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  John 13:34

Just as it is impossible to receive salvation without believing in Jesus Christ, without faith in God, it is impossible to love one another without God.

We didn't invent love, God did, love is of God, love is from God, God is love.  Through God's love, given freely to us, we are able to love one another.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.  John 15:12

These things I command you, that ye love one another.  John 15:17

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.  1 John 3:23

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  1 John 4:7-8

No one can follow Christ without loving one another.  If ye love one another, ALL people will know that you are disciples of Christ Jesus, followers of God.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.  John 13:35

We have salvation assurance, we know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.  1 John 3:14-19

Yes, Jesus Christ tells us to love even our enemies.  Christ loved all people, even His enemies.  The love of God is manifest when we love one another, when we love all people, no matter what their sin.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  Matthew 5:44-45

Jesus continues in this chapter of Matthew saying, that it is nothing to just love those people who love you, anyone can do that, but to love those who hate us, that is perfect love, like the love of our Father God in Heaven.

Our Lord God has perfect love and we are to follow in His ways.

 

Forgive and forget.

Some people say, "I forgive, but I will never forget", but this is not the forgiveness that God tells us about.

We are to follow the ways of God, when we forgive the sins of others from our hearts, AND we are also to forget those sins, just as Christ does when He forgives our sins.

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.   Hebrews 10:17

If we hold onto our hurt, hold onto another person's sin against us, by remember it and not forgetting, we have not truly forgiven them for hurting us. 

Jesus is our pattern on how to live our life.  We are to forgive sin, because Christ forgives our sins AND we are to forget the sins against us, because Christ remembers our sins no more.

How do we forget?  Just like we do everything, through ChristThrough Jesus we CAN do anything.

Yesterday is over and nothing you do today can ever change yesterday.  It is over, get over it, and get on with your life.

Only the devil wants us to wallow in our self pity, hold onto hurt in our lives, hold onto sin, by holding on to unforgiveness, satan keeps us in bondage.

Jesus came to release ALL the people of the world from bondage, and set us all free from sin and death.  True freedom is only through Christ, forgiving sin and being forgiven of all our sins. 

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  John 8:32

Only the truth, Jesus, can set anyone free.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

The Lord God will repay all the wicked people for all their wicked deeds; vengeance belongs to God alone.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.  Romans 12:19

 

Stay in the fellowship of Christ

If we abide in God and God abides in us we will be saved.

Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.  Acts 27:31

Paul uses an example of being in a ship in the water to illustrate salvation.

If we abide, stay in the ship, remain in Christ we can be saved.

But if we do NOT abide, stay and remain in Christ we CANNOT be saved.

When the ship (Christ Jesus) reaches its final destination (the Kingdom of God, Heaven), only those who have remained in the ship (remained in Christ Jesus) will be saved.

Abiding in Christ is a lifelong commitment to obeying God by holding onto our faith in God.

Abiding in Christ is NOT temporary or any past or forgotten experience.  Abiding in Christ Jesus is remaining in faith in God.

Abiding in Christ is having a current and personal relationship with Christ Jesus.  Having faith in God.

Those who are NOT abiding in Christ Jesus CANNOT be saved.

Without faith no one will spend eternity with God.

 

I am sealed and kept by the power of GOD

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.  Ephesians 1:13-14

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  Ephesians 4:30

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.  1 Peter 1:5

 

ONLY God keeps us by His power through our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, unto salvation, which will be revealed in the last day.

Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.  2 Corinthians 1:21-22

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.  2 Thessalonians 3:3

 

I DO the Will of God

If we DO the will of God we will receive eternal life.

The will of God is for ALL people to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, and hold onto our saving faith for all the days of our lives.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  1 Thessalonians 5:9

After we obtain salvation, we are to continue DOING the will of God.  Following the will of God does NOT end after salvation.  Salvation is the beginning of following Christ, the beginning of our faith in God.

Doing the will of God is NOT an option.  To enter the Kingdom of God in Heaven we ALL must DO the will of God, which is to hold onto our faith in God until the end.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Matthew 7:21

Doing the will of God is not saying that we do the will of God, it is action, not verbal from your mouth, but action from your heart.  Following the will of God is action by doing, not verbal by saying.

The will of God is for ALL people everywhere to repent, turn from sin to God.  Repentance is a change of heart to live for God and not live for self.  The will of God is for ALL people NOT to sin.  People who willfully and daily live in sin do NOT follow the will of God.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  Acts 17:30

The will of God is to love Jesus Christ with ALL our heart, with ALL our soul, with ALL our mind, above ALL else.

The will of God is to obey and DO the will of God, believing in the truth of God, having faith in God.

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:  2 Thessalonians 2:13

Salvation occurs through sanctification of the Spirit of God in us and through our belief of the truth, which is our belief in Christ Jesus.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;  Hebrews 5:9

Jesus Christ is the Author of Eternal Salvation to ALL people who obey Him, who believe in Him, who have faith in God.

Salvation is received only through obedience of God, which is faith in God.

Salvation and obedience to faith are NOT separated.

NO ONE can receive salvation without DOING the Will of God, without obedience to faith in God.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  1 John 2:17

Only the believers of Christ who DO the Will of GOD will abide forever.

We must commit to God ALL of ourselves and DO the Will of God for the rest of our lives.

That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.  1 Peter 4:2

The promise of eternal life is freely given to those who do the Will of God.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.   Hebrews 10:36

After we have done the will of God, have faith in God, we will receive the promise of eternal life.

The will of God does NOT end after we are saved, after we receive salvation.  The will of God is eternal, everlasting obedience to faith in God.

We have salvation assurance because we live by faith.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  Romans 1:17

I seek the will of God

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

When we are saved, by the sacrifice of Jesus' life, by Jesus who died for ALL the sins of ALL people of the world, we are to follow Christ daily, seek the will of God for our lives forever.

Salvation is accepting Jesus Christ into your heart to be the Lord and Saviour of your personal life for eternity.

I continually seek God's will in every area of my life for the rest of my life.

Salvation is a total commitment to God to live for God and not live for ourselves, for the rest of our lives.

We can know we are disciples of Christ Jesus, we can have assurance of our salvation by continuing in the word of God all the days of our life.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;  John 8:31

Continuing is NOT stopping.  We must continue in the faith of God.

Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.  Acts 14:22

There is NOT one scripture in the word of God that says, after we are saved that it is okay to continue in sin.  The word of God reads that we must continue in God's goodness, NOT in sin, otherwise we will be cut off.

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.  Romans 11:22

Those with unbelief, those who live without faith in God, living after the flesh in sin, will NOT see God. 

Those who change their heart and believe in Christ Jesus and do NOT live in sin, who deny self and follow Jesus will LIVE and will see God.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.  1 Timothy 4:16

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.   2 Timothy 3:14-15

 

I wait, watch and pray for the return of Christ

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.   2 Thessalonians 3:5

This earthly life is just temporary True life is eternal.  Real life is eternal life.  Eternal life is received only through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  Eternal life is the gift from God for believing in His Son, Jesus Christ.

When a believer of Christ dies, their life has really just begun.  When we die is when our life truly begins, because we receive eternal life in the Kingdom of God, and are with the Lord forever.

The few 80 or 90 years we live here on this earth, in our earthly bodies, cannot compare to the 10,000 years times 10,000 years we will spend in the Kingdom of God, never ending, for eternity praising and loving our Lord God.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  Philippians 1:21

To live is Christ and to die is gain, because when a believer dies we are with Jesus, our Lord and Saviour for evermore.

True life is Christ.  My life began when I accepted Christ Jesus into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour of my life. 

To die is gain.  I do not fear death, because I know when I die, the moment I take my last breath here on this earth, I will be with my Lord God in Heaven, to live forever in the Glory of my Lord and my God.

For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain, because when I die, I will be with my Lord God, in the loving arms of my Father God forever and then my life will truly just begin.

 


What is the proof of salvation?

Is there proof that someone is genuinely saved by God?  Yes, there is.  The word of God gives us proof of salvation.

God loves us so much, that He wants to give each of His children full assurance of their salvation.  God does not want us to live in fear or in doubt of His love or our salvation, that He freely gives to us, through faith in His Son.

God wants to give us peace and comfort, blessed assurance that we belong to Him, we are His chosen, we are His saints, we are His beloved.

There are a multitude of scriptures in the Word of God, that give us proof of salvation, let's look a few of them today.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,   2 Thessalonians 2:16

Through faith in God, by the grace of God, we receive salvation.  By confessing our sins to God and asking Him for forgiveness, by repenting of our sins, which is turning away from sin in our live, we are promised forgiveness of sin by God.  By surrendering our life completely to Jesus, through faith in Him we are saved.  We are saved from sin and death and receive everlasting life, through faith in Christ Jesus.

 

Proof of salvation is change in our life. 

When we receive genuine salvation, God promises that we will be changed.  God does not say that some people may be changed, or that we could be different; no, God said that we will be changed.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

God tells us in His word that "old things are passed away" and "all things become new".  God says that we will not "fit" into our old life of sin, because we have the Spirit of God living inside of us.

 

Proof of salvation is righteousness

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.   Proverbs 11:5

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:   Philippians 3:9

 

Proof of salvation is confessing Jesus Christ is Lord

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.  1 John 4:15

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  Ephesians 4:21

One who receives the salvation of God knows who Jesus is and knows the truth of God is in Jesus.   The Spirit of God reveals His truth to our spirit.

 

Proof of salvation is love

God's love is perfected in His children, if we love one another.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.  1 John 4:11-12

We can love all people, through faith and salvation.  Through the love of Christ, we can love all people.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  1 John 4:16

We can love all people, because Christ first loved us.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.  1 John 4:20-21

 

Proof of salvation is loving God today.

Proof of salvation is loving the Lord our God, with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength. 

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.  Mark 12:29-31

Our love for God is above and beyond any love we have.  We are to love no one or nothing more than we love Him.  Remember, placing anyone or anything above God is idolatry.

We love him, because he first loved us.  1 John 4:19

Humans didn't invent love, God did.  God is love.  God placed love into this world, and into us.  God loved us first, before we loved Him.  God loved us, with all our faults.  God loved us while we were sinners and running away from Him. 

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  1 John 4:16

The word of God tells us to "keep ourselves in the love of God" all the days of our lives.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.  Jude 1:21

 

Proof of salvation is forgiveness

Practicing forgiveness is proof of salvation.  We can forgive all people, for all things done to us, because God has forgiven us.  Yes, it is that simple.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is proof of salvation.  When we receive salvation, we receive the Spirit of God, we receive the mind of Christ Jesus, and we receive the power of God. 

We are given the power of God, the strength of God to do all things through Christ Jesus.  We CAN FORGIVE all people for all things, because we are OF God.

 

Proof of salvation is desire for God

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dray and thirsty land, where no water is;  Psalm 63:1

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.  Psalm 73:25

He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.  Psalm 145:19

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.  Psalm 27:4

Salvation plants a seed in our soul that grows and yearns to be nearer to God every day.  Salvation impacts our whole being - spirit, soul and body - and turns it toward the Light of Christ.

At salvation we have an unction from the Holy One - a divine imparting of the anointing grace of God - that when we listen will direct our path to God and plant us in His righteousness, so that we can grow in the faith and love of God.  1 John 2:20, 27.

 

Proof of salvation is following Christ Jesus

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.  3 John 1:11

 

Proof of salvation is avoiding sin

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:26-32

 

Proof of salvation is repentance

Proof of salvation is continual repentance.  Yes, we are to avoid sin, but as long as we live in our flesh and bones bodies here on this evil, sinful earth, we will sin.  Our proof of salvation is to not willfully sin, which is sinning daily on purpose.

When we advertently sin, we are immediately convicted of our sin against God, by the Holy Spirit of God who dwells inside every believer.

Proof of our salvation is godly sorrow of our sin, asking God's forgiveness of that sin, and turning away from that sin, which is repentance. 

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  2 Corinthians 7:10

Repentance is turning away from the confessed sin against God.

Throughout our walk with God, our journey to Heaven, when we sin, we must ask God for forgiveness of that sin, and repent from that sin.  

Through faith, we must continually walk away from sin, depart from sin, turn away from sin, avoid sin, and walk towards God, turn to God.

God says that we must repent of our sins, turn from satan and turn to God.  Without repentance, there is no salvation.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

Proof of salvation is repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.  Acts 20:21

 

Proof of salvation is sharing the gospel of Christ Jesus

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.  1 John 4:14

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.  Acts 20:24

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  Romans 1:16

All believers have the same commission by God, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of God, the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven, to prepare the way of the Lord, to preach the word of God to all people.

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.  Mark 1:1-3

We prepare the way of the Lord, by sharing the love of God, telling others about Jesus, showing them the plan of salvation, teaching them how to receive the gift of God, which is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, how they can receive eternal life, and telling them about the Kingdom of God.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.  Mark 1:15

God's commission to preach the gospel is to all of His disciples, all of His beloved children, to all who have received His salvation.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  Mark 16:15

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.  Luke 4:18-19

All believers are disciples of Christ Jesus, we are all given the power of God, we have all been anointed by God, chosen by God, called by God, to spread the word of God; so that the lost of this world will NOT perish, but receive everlasting life, just as we have.

God promises us that there will be no more sorrow when we are in Heaven with our Lord God; but, if there were, I am sure we would feel deep unrelenting painful sorrowful regret for the souls that were lost; lost souls that we could have shared our testimony with, lost souls that we could have shared Jesus Christ with, shared the love of God with, and shared the plan of salvation with.

I think we are born with the innate ability to boast about things.  We are prideful and boasting creatures.  "Let me tell you what I did...", "Let me show you what I have...",  "Let me tell you about the time that I....".  Who are we, to think that we are anything or have anything worth mentioning.

But there is someone who is worthy of our boasting, who no man should stop us from boasting of, which is Jesus Christ. 

We were give the most wonderful gift in the world, Jesus Christ, but do we boast about your Saviour and Lord?  I think we should.

As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.  2 Corinthians 11:10

 

Proof of salvation is living by faith

We may say, "Do as I say, not as I do"; but God says "Do as I say, and do as I do".  If we preach the gospel of Christ, we are to live by the gospel of Christ.

Proof of salvation is living by faith.  The word of God tells us that the saved in Christ Jesus live by faith.  The saved live by faith.

Through faith we are saved; and through faith we live.  We live every day by faith.  We live all the days of our lives by faith.

Faith isn't something that we put on for a season.  Faith in Christ Jesus is how we live every day of our life. 

The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38).

 

Proof of salvation is trusting the Lord God for all things

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.  Isaiah 12:2

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.  Psalm 112:7

Therefore there is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.  He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  1 John 4:18

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.  Psalm 84:12

 

 

Proof of salvation is no fear what man or this world can do to us

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  1 John 4:18

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.  Philippians 1:28

 

Proof of salvation is obedience to God

We know from the word of God that people who do not know God, do not obey God; and, shall be separated from God for eternity.

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;  2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

Obedience to God is proof of salvation.   Obedience to God follows salvation.  Obeying God is the effect of faith.

Obedience to God always follows genuine conversion, true salvation.

The word of God reads that who we obey, shows us who we serve.  We become the servants of who we obey.  If we obey sin, who are we serving?  Not God.  Remember the wages of sin is death and separation from God for eternity.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?  Romans 6:16

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

We are to serve Christ, serve the one true living God, obey God in all things, even our thoughts are to be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;   2 Corinthians 10:5

 

Proof of salvation is suffering

Don't think it odd that suffering is a proof of salvation, because the word of God tells us, if we suffer in Christ, we will also reign with Him.

Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:   2 Timothy 2:10-12

Everlasting life, salvation, the crown of life is given to the saved in Christ Jesus who are faithful to Him unto death.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.   Revelation 2:10

 


Where is the proof I am saved?

Have you ever been outside on a very hot day?  Did you get hot? Of course, you did. 

So, how did you know you were hot?  You can't see hot?  That's right, you felt it.  You felt the heat rise inside your body and you knew that you were hot.  No one had to tell you that you were hot, because you knew it, you felt it, you felt hot.

What if someone tried to tell you that you were not hot?  Do you think that they could convince you that you were not hot?  Of course they couldn't.  You know when you are hot.

After awhile, if you get hot enough, what happens?  That's right, you start to sweat.  Perspiration runs down your face and your body.  If someone sees you dripping with sweat, they know you are hot, because you show physical evidence to them that you are hot.  Your sweat is evidence that you are very hot.

When we are saved by the grace of God through faith in God, we know it; and, when we follow the will of God, we show it.  Through faith in Jesus Christ we have full assurance of our faith; and, your genuine faith is God is evident to others.

God promises His children, the saved in Christ Jesus, that His Spirit, the Spirit of God will bear witness with our spirit.  The Spirit of God tells our spirit that we are indeed the children of God.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  Romans 8:16

The Spirit of God speaks to our spirit and tells us that we are saved.  The Spirit of God dwells in all people who have received His free gift of salvation.  God's Spirit speaks to our spirit and confirms our redemption.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  Romans 8:9

The Spirit of God dwells, lives inside of His children.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  Romans 8:11

If someone tries to tell us that we are not saved, it doesn't matter, because we know that we are saved, directly from the Spirit of God.

Salvation assurance dwells inside of the children of God, through the Spirit of God dwelling inside of us.  The very Spirit of God Himself bears witness to our spirit, tells our spirit who we are, that we are the children of God.

The world around us can see evidence that we are saved, by how we live our lives in faith toward God.  Living lives of holiness and righteousness is the evidence of our obedience toward God, evidence of our salvation, our fruits of salvation.

If you are having difficulty being assured of your salvation, don't put off talking with God.   Pray and ask Jesus Christ into your heart, surrender your life to Him, repent and turn from all sin, ask for salvation and you will receive it, and Jesus will set you free from all doubt and all worry.

My assurance of my salvation from God through Christ Jesus, is written on the fleshy tables of my heart, engraved inside of me.  My salvation assurance is written inside of me, by the Spirit of the Living God.

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.   2 Corinthians 3:3

I have salvation assurance inside of me, in my heart, and in my spirit, I know without any doubt that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour for eternity and I have everlasting life, eternal life in the Kingdom of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, by the grace of God.
