Created Being

This is a Bible study on Created Being.    Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27

Mankind is created by God - we are a created being.

Foundational Truth:  We are created by God. (Genesis 1:27)

What are created beings?

Created beings are beings created by another being.  Mankind is not self-existent as we were created by GOD.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27

We are created beings.  We call ourselves human beings.

The Bible calls us human beings man, men, woman, mankind, womankind, creatures, people, tribes, being, kingdoms of the earth, and terrestrial bodies.

Human beings are created beings.

Who created us?

God created all things, including us.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  Genesis 2:7

God loved us and knew us before we were born.  God formed each of us in our mother's womb.  Every person is created by God.

Does GOD look like us?

No, God does not look like us.  We were created in God's image, not the other way around.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27

How were human beings created?

Human beings were created, formed by the LORD God of the dust of the ground.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.   And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.   Genesis 2:7-8

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.   And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.  And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Genesis 2:18-23

We should always be mindful of the fact that man was formed by God (Deuteronomy 32:18).

God alone formed all things (Proverbs 26:10).

How was I created?

The first man was formed from the dust of the earth by the hand of God.

The first woman was formed by the hand of God from the rib of the first man.

God's plan for humanity was a sacred marriage union of one man and one woman, who with God's blessing should multiply and replenish the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:27-28

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  Genesis 2:24

God forms us in the womb of our mothers. (Isaiah 44:2, 24; 49:5; Jeremiah 1:5)

Who was the first human being created?

Adam was the first human created by God.

For Adam was first formed, then Eve.  1 Timothy 2:13

Who was the second human being created?

Woman was the second human being created.

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Genesis 2:21-23

Eve was the second human being formed by God.

For Adam was first formed, then Eve.   1 Timothy 2:13

Why did GOD create two human being sexes?

God created male and female

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27

God creates each person male or female.  Our male or female sex is determined by God and is confirmed by our DNA.

God created two sexes to help each other

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  Genesis 2:18

God created two sexes to love each other

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  Genesis 2:24

God created two sexes for marriage

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,  And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?  Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.   Matthew 19:4-6

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;  And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. Mark 10:6-7

God created two separate and unique sexes to love Him, to love each other, to fulfill His will, and to populate His creation earth.

Male and female creatures were created in order to multiply and following God's will.

Why were we created by GOD?

Although the choice to choose life or death is our free will, God created us to live with Him forever.

Love

God created mankind out of love, His love, because of the love of God we are.

We are, we are born, we are here because God loves us.  God loved us first, before we were.

God created us because of love, His unending, everlasting, perfect love we were created.

God created us we are to live for Him because we love Him.

God created man for His glory

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.  Isaiah 43:7

God created all things for His good pleasure, His glory, and His love.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.   1 John 4:16

God is love and everything He does, and everything He creates is because of love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10

Everything begins and ends with love.   The essence of all things is love, because God is love.

Mankind was created to know God

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.   Isaiah 43:10

Mankind was created for God

We were created for God Himself.

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.   Isaiah 43:21

What is GOD's plan for my life?

God has a plan for everyone.  Before God created you, He had a plan and a purpose for your life.  God knew you in your mother's womb and even then, He had a plan for your life.

Reasonable service

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Romans 12:1-2

Whole duty of man

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.   Ecclesiastes 12:13

A time for every purpose

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:   Ecclesiastes 3:1

Seek God

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.    Jeremiah 29:11-13

When we seek God with all our heart, God promises us that we will find Him, and He will give us an expected end, receiving the end of our faith the salvation of our souls (1 Peter 1:9).

Peace

Living in peace is God's plan for all mankind.  God's plan for you is for you to live in peace.

Our purpose is to live in peace, peace within ourselves, and peace with all other people, because we believe in the God of peace, we can have His peace, peace that passes all understanding.

We are to be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving on another, just as God for Christ's sake forgave us (Ephesians 4:32).

We are to purposely live in peace with one another, pursue peace, desire peace, forsaking selfish pride of being "right" or proving we are "right", for the love of God.

Learn about God

Our purpose in this life is to learn about God.  We are never to stop learning about God (2 Timothy 3:14-17).  We are to push forward and increase in learning (Proverbs 1:5, 9:9, 16:21, 23; 2 Peter 3:18).

We are to learn everything we can about our loving God and Saviour.  We are to know God's will for our lives and learn His word, His doctrine, His commandments, His oracles, and we are to learn them, keep them and do them (Deuteronomy 5:1).

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29

All of the written Word of God was gifted to us by God Himself for our learning that we might have hope through patience and comfort of His Scriptures (Romans 15:4).

Do

God's plan for our life is to do His word.

We are to hear His word, observe it, take heed to it, and do it (Deuteronomy 5:27, 6:3; 2 Chronicles 19:7).

Believers, the disciples of Christ, the children of God, the saved in Christ Jesus are all who hear the word of God and do it (Luke 8:21).

We are not just to learn about God and His ways, but we are to follow them by doing them.  We are to do the works of Christ.  We are to do the word of God, not just know what it says.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.    Philippians 4:9

Salvation is participation, action, doing.  Following Christ is participation, action, doing.  Living in faith is participation, action, doing.

You cannot participate in God's Heavenly Kingdom, if you do not participate in your salvation (James 2:26; 2 Peter 1:10-11).

God calls all His children to participate in their own salvation, by living in faith every day, exercising that faith, growing in faith, learning, sharing, loving, praying, serving, and by doing.  (Philippians 2:12; Romans 1:17; 2 Peter 3:18)

We are to continue doing for the Lord all the days of our lives (1 Timothy 4:16).

Some days it will be hard to continue doing, but God says we are not to become weary or faint in our service to the Lord, but continue doing the will of God from our heart (Ephesians 6:6-7; Galatians 6:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:13).

We are either working for the Lord, doing God's will, following God's ways, or we are not.  We are either doing God's word, or we are not doing God's word.  We are either doing for the Lord, or we are doing against the Lord.  It is that simple, even a child knows right from wrong (Proverbs 20:11).

We will all receive our just reward one day from God, according to our doings, what we have done, or have not done, in the name of the Lord (Jeremiah 17:10; Romans 2:6-10).

If Christ called His saints home today, what would He find you doing?

How wonderful it will be for our LORD to find us working for Him, serving Him, loving Him by doing His will, as He instructed us to do through His word, when He comes!  (Matthew 24:46).

What does GOD desire from me?

God desires to take you where He created you to be (which is with Him).

God desires for us to be with Him for all eternity, which is obtained by receiving His salvation, by His grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).

God desires us to accept His love.  God desires His love to be manifested in your life.  God desires you to share His love with others.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.   There is none other commandment greater than these.  Mark 12:29-31

To love God with all our created being, and to love others as we love ourselves - this is the desire of God for all His creation.

What is the difference between our body, spirit, and soul?

We were created in the image of God.  God is triune (more in one), and God created man triune.

God is Father, Son, and Spirit.  Man is body, spirit, and soul.

God formed our body of flesh, bones, blood, inside the womb of our mother.  God breathed life into our nostrils (body) giving us our spirit.  Our body and spirit join together and we become a living soul.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.   Genesis 2:7

Every being created by God and given life by God, has a body, a spirit, and a soul.

Our human body is mortal and dies.  Our body is the material substance that we see, our head, our arms, our legs, our flesh.

Our spirit is life, the non-material substance of every human being.  Our spirit holds our spiritual capacity and conscience through which we have direct contact with God's Spirit.

Our living soul is non-material, mind, emotions, and will.  We become a living soul with the union of our spirit and our body.

Our spirit and our soul are our person.

Our human body will die when it is separated from soul and spirit.

Prayer thanking GOD for creating me:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for creating me in YOUR image.  Help me remember that YOU are my Creator and the Creator of all things. Help me to remember that I am dependent on YOU for all things.  Thank you for giving me YOUR love. Guide me to YOU.  Teach me how to seek YOU every day and love YOU more every day.

In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
