This is a Bible study on the devil. Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide. The devil desires to have you, for one purpose, so that he can destroy you, so that (like him) you too will be separated from God for all eternity. The main goal of the devil is to separate you from God - by any means and at any cost to you.
Here the scriptures tell us what is at the end for the devil and all his followers. The devil and his followers will be cast into hell, and they will all be for all eternally separated away from God, where they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever, for all eternity. The devil knows his destiny, do you? Don't follow the devil into the pits of hell. Receive the free gift of salvation and follow Jesus Christ into the kingdom of God, and live with God for eternity.
No one can defeat the devil without God.
The devil believes that there is one true Living God, but does not believe in Jesus to the salvation of his soul. The devil has NO faith in God to salvation. Belief that there is a God is not faith in God to salvation. Satan does not have believing faith in God to salvation. Satan refused to give his life to God, to make Jesus the Master of his life, satan rejected God's gift of eternal life, the salvation of his soul. The devil decided a long time ago to follow his own path, instead of following God. The devil chose his own will, instead of trusting in God's will for his life. The devil chose his own way, instead of God's way. Satan chose to be the master of his own life, instead of giving his life to God and making God the only Master in his life. The choices that the devil made by rejecting God, severed his relationship with God, and sealed his own eternity apart from God forever. The devil chose to be eternally separated from God.
The devil wants to destroy you, make your life miserable, hurt you, deceive you, kill you and ultimately separate you away from God and God's love and blessings now and for all eternity.
God wants to give you life, eternal life, a wondrous, glorious life that He created for you to have, now and for all eternity. We all have the same choice, life or death, blessing or cursing, God asks us all to choose life, eternal life in His kingdom forevermore (Deuteronomy 30:19). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13). Through faith in God to salvation we can all receive God's gift of eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:26 Please, take God's salvation today, ask God to be your Saviour and the Master of your life today and forevermore.
God created a beautiful angel, not the devil. God did NOT create the devil. The being called the devil was the result of sin against God, the result of rebelling against God, the devil was created out of lust for power over God. God loves all His creation, and God loves all His beautiful angels and gives us free will. God grants all His created beings free will. At some point, this "angel of God" decided to rebel against God, this angel decided that he was equal to God, this angel thought he was like God, as good as God, equal to God, desired the glory of God, and this is when this angel fell from God's grace and became the devil. No one is God, except God. No one can be God, except God. No one is equal to God, except God. There is only one God, the Creator of all things, the Alpha and Omega, the Almighty, the one Lord Jehovah God Almighty. God did not create this angel to rebel and sin against Him; God did not wish that this angel act rebellious against God's will. Since that angel said that he was as good as God and wanted all others to worship him instead of God, that angel became the enemy of God, and so did all the other angels that worship and followed him. When this angel fell from the grace of God, when he attempted to overthrow the authority of God, when he lied about who God was and is, he became satan, he turned himself into the devil. The angel was created by God, and the angel became satan when he sinned against God, defied, rejected, rebuked, denied, forsake, and rebelled against the Almighty God, the Creator of all things. Anyone who rejects the truth of God, falls from the grace of God, has through their evil heart entered into unbelief of who God is and what He can and will do, enters into unbelief, and unbelief separates anyone from God. Unbelief separates anyone from God, no matter who you were to begin with. IF your unbelief is not repented of, then you will be eternally separated from God, just like the devil and the angels that followed him. Satan and his followers were banished from both God's presence, God's favor and forfeited God's salvation. Satan had committed the unpardonable sin, the unforgivable sin, which is blaspheme against the Holy Ghost. Satan denied God's omnipotent authority, satan chose to leave his faith in God, for faith in himself, satan chose to make himself, his own god. The devil and his angels chose to rebel against God, they chose to leave God, they chose to turn their backs forever to the truth of God, their hearts hardened and they passed the point of returning to God, by refusing to repent of their sin against God. Eternal separation from God is serious, and not something to be taken lightly. Satan and his angels are eternally separated from God. All that is left for the devil and all his followers is their impending judgment and the wrath of God, eternal damnation and eternal death.
Any person who follows Satan will also be eternally separated from God. God is not slack in His promises, everything He said will be fulfilled. God did not spare the angels that sinned against Him, but cast them down to hell and He will do the same to all of the devil's followers, men and women (2 Peter 2:4). God did not spare anyone on this earth in the day of Noah, except eight people (2 Peter 2:5). God delivered Lot and his family, but did not spare any person in Sodom and Gomorrha, and then turned it all into ashes (2 Peter 2:6). All the unjust, all who turn against God will all be judged and will be punished (2 Peter 2:9). All the unrighteous will receive their reward (2 Peter 2:13), all who have forsaken the right way of God (2 Peter 2:15), just like satan who the darkness is reserved forever (2 Peter 2:17).
So, we see in the scripture that God did not create the devil, God created a beautiful angel, who against God's will chose to rebel against God, sinned against God by proclaiming that he was better than God. This angel manifested pride and self righteousness in his heart. This angel began to believe in his heart that he, being but an angel, that he was as righteous as God and was equal to God. When these thoughts took life in this angel's heart sin was born. Iniquity was born because this angel thought to himself saying:
I will, I will, I will, I, I, I - This angel of God tried to put himself above God. With these thoughts of superiority to God, this angel separated himself from God. Impossible as it may sound, this creature (satan) thought himself to be more than the Creator (God). God did not separate him from the Paradise of Heaven, satan separated himself away from God. This angel thought he could do better than God, this angel wanted his self will over God's will. We are all either with God or without God. We are either for God or against God. We are either of God or NOT of God. This angel decided through his self will to be without God and therefore cast himself out of heaven. There is only ONE authority in Heaven, which is God the Almighty, no other. For there is one God; and there is none other but he (Mark 12:32).
Yes, there really is a devil, right now, in the world we live in today. He is ruler of evil in this sinful, wicked world. That is why the world is so evil. That is why we are to choose God over the devil and the sin of the world. God's children separate themselves from this crooked, sinful world. Throughout the word of God from Genesis to Revelation, God speaks about the devil, satan, the wicked one, the serpent, the father of lies. Is there really a devil? Well, if you believe in God and believe His word you do, because God Himself spoke to satan. In the book of Job, the LORD spoke with satan regarding Job, and satan spoke to the LORD God.
God knows our thoughts, God knows our heart and God knows our mind, none else. Ultimate power is with God, not the devil.
The devil does NOT know our thoughts. The devil has limited powers on this earth and cannot read our minds or know our thoughts. The devil only knows what he can see, what he can read, and what he can hear, which are all controlled by God above. The devil only knows what you tell him. Only the Lord Jehovah God Almighty has all power and can read our thoughts, and knows what is in our minds, and knows what is in our hearts. The devil knows only what he sees and has seen, what he hears and what he has heard in the past and he doesn't forget. The devil knows what he sees today, and the devil will know what he will see in the future, based on the Word of God. The devil cannot predict or change the future. The devil knows the past and all he has seen in the past, he remembers. The devil knows the written word of God. The devil knows the past history of mankind, because he took part in it, he was there. We know and understand through the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, that satan is unable to enter the minds of man, search our thoughts, or know what we are thinking at any time. The devil knows what we tell him, what we say out loud he hears, what we write down he can read, what we watch and what we listen to, and he sees what we are doing. The devil can conclude based on years of observing human beings, what we think but he cannot read our minds. We are creatures of habit. You don't have to read someone's mind to conclude what people are thinking sometimes, some things are quite obvious to an outside observer. Because of the history the devil has with mankind, he might seem to know our minds and read our thoughts, but it is just an illusion, a lie based on all the past history of mankind the devil has retained.
The devil cannot 'make' anyone sin. The devil cannot force anyone to sin. The devil has limited powers and is only able to tempt us with sin - the devil cannot force anyone to sin. The devil can present us with circumstances, tempting us into sin, but he is powerless to force anyone to sin. "The devil made me do it" is a lie that has been around since Adam and Eve. Eve blamed her sinning on the serpent, and Adam blamed his sinning on Eve. They both blamed their sin on the serpent. Adam and Eve were not forced to sin by the devil, they were only tempted to sin by satan. Adam and Eve both willfully chose to disobey God, reject God's truth for satan's lie. When Adam and Eve submitted to satan, submitted to the serpent's temptation to believe his lies over God, Adam and Eve chose to sin. The devil is extremely clever and can disguise his lies in a way that is most appealing and reasonable, tempting and persuasive to humans. The devil distorted the truth, twisted the truth of God, presented his lies to Adam and Eve in such a way, that it seemed logical and persuasive to them. The devil was able to change their mind, alter their thinking, about the truth of what God had really said to them. The devil uses the same tactics today, to persuade us, tempt us into to sin. Human beings commit sin because they want to, not because the devil made them, or forced them. The devil has very limited powers, much less power than most people know. Sin occurs when people yield - give in - to the temptation of sin. Temptation is not sin, everyone is tempted by satan, but it is when we yield to the temptation that we commit sin. When we act upon the temptation satan presents to us, that is when we sin. The devil can only 'tempt' people with sin, but he cannot 'force' you to yield to his temptation, the devil cannot force you to sin. The temptation of sin is not sin, because even Christ Jesus was tempted in the wilderness by the devil, but Jesus never yielded to the temptation of sin. Jesus never sinned. We know that Jesus never committed sin. The devil presented Jesus with several opportunities to sin, several temptations to sin, but Jesus refused to give in and do what the devil suggested, Jesus rejected satan's lies, Jesus refused to perform the acts that the devil tempted Him with, and Jesus never sinned. Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is sin. Yielding to temptation, acting upon the temptation, doing what the devil suggests, is when we commit sin. The devil presents sin to us on a silver platter - sin is persuasive, appealing, attractive. The devil tempts us to commit sin. If we yield to the devil's lies and take the sin he has tempted us with, then we have committed sin. We are all tempted with sin. No one born is exempt from being tempted by the devil. And everyone born has the free will and choice to give into temptation, or reject temptation and reject sin. Even, if you are a faithful believer and living in the will of God, you will be tempted with sin. In fact, the Word of God teaches that satan will be more aggressive in tempting God's children than his own. Why? Because he already has control over his own children, but not God's children. Satan already owns the children of disobedience, but satan has no ownership over the children of God. The Word of God teaches us that by submitting our lives to God and by the power of Christ Jesus dwelling inside of all believers that we are able to overcome the temptation of sin, reject, refuse, resist the devil and his temptation of sin, say no to sin, and depart from sin and the devil.
God promises that, if we submit ourselves to Him completely, if we obey God, then He will enable us (with His power) to resist the devil and that the devil will flee from us (James 4:7). Through the salvation of God, through the power of Christ gifted to all believers - all the children of God are given power over the devil. Through the salvation of God we have power over the devil and all his tricks, his lies, and temptations. With God, we have the power of God to resist the devil and the power of God to make the devil flee from us. This power is only obtained by receiving the salvation of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:26 As the children of God, we have the power to overcome and defeat the devil. With God we can resist every temptation that the devil throws at us and we can defeat the devil and overcome sin in this life. No one can defeat satan without God. Man is unable to defeat the devil by himself. Mankind is dependent upon God. We are all powerless to defeat the devil by ourselves, we need the power of Christ to defeat and overcome satan. We receive the power of Christ through salvation, which is received by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus to save us from sin and death (Galatians 3:26). The devil has absolutely no power over the children of God, who remain in the will of God, submitted to God's authority. The only power the devil has over the children of God is the power that they give him. If you have more faith in the power of the devil to hurt you, than the power of God to keep you safe, then by your own unbelief you have empowered the devil to infect your life.
The devil is not your friend, he cannot save you, he cannot help you, his only goal for your life is total destruction.
Yes, the devil has power, but very limited power. First, we must realize that the devil indeed has some limited power. Almighty, everlasting, supreme, ultimate, unlimited power belongs to God alone, none else. God alone has all power. God alone is omnipotent (all powerful).
Alleluia! for the Lord God omnipotent reigns! (Revelation 19:6).
I believe too many people, even Christians, give the devil too much power, much more than he has or will ever have. So what power does the devil actually have? The devil has the power to tempt men to sin. Do not be deceived, the devil cannot make anyone sin, because the devil has very limited power, he can only tempt man to sin. Humans commit sin. Man sins by yielding to the devil's temptation of sin. The devil's power lies in the resources the devil uses to tempt man, in that temptation can be extremely persuasive and attractive. Know this, the devil has been on this earth since the beginning of our time. The devil has seen more things and heard more things than we ever could in our short life time, or we could ever imagine. The devil has firsthand experience regarding mankind as to what trips us up, what entangles us, what deceives us into falling for the devil's temptations. The devil knows what works to place us into sin. The devil knows exactly what it takes to tempt every kind of human being into yielding to his temptation. By experience the devil knows what works and what doesn't with every kind of human being. The devil has been in the temptation to sin game for thousands of years, and compared to our few years of life on this earth, we don't stand a chance against him - unless we stand with God.
The power of God can defeat the power of the devil, if we use it. Only the power of God can defeat the power of satan. The power of God is not automatic, we do not automatically have God's power, we must first receive it, by accepting God's free gift of salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus (Galatians 3:26). Through salvation we receive the power of God enabling us to overcome sin. In order to receive the power of God we must first become a child of God, and we become the children of God through faith in Jesus Christ to salvation (Galatians 3:26). Unless, we have received the power of God through receiving God's free gift of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, we do NOT have the power to fight off the temptations of satan, and we are doomed to a life of sin, which results in eternal death and separation from God. A life spent in sin results in eternal death and separation from God for all eternity, because God says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
The end of every life lived in sin is death - eternal separation from God; but God promises eternal life to all who by faith receive His gift of salvation through Jesus (Romans 6:23). What exactly can the devil do? How does the devil work and get us to yield to temptation and commit sin? The devil can rearrange our present circumstances, present us with distractions, introduce certain people into our lives, present stumbling blocks into our lives, and suggest certain ideas, which can all deceive us into committing sin. The devil has the power to plant certain people in our lives to distract us from God, from the things of God, and from His salvation. The devil has the power to plant certain people in our work place to try and make our lives miserable, tempt us into sin, confuse us, anger us, to distract us into hate and moving away from God. The devil has the power to plant certain people in our lives or workplace to try and tempt us into sinning with them. The devil has the power to present ideas to you, attractive persuasive ideas, tempting you to follow satan, that you find more appealing than following God. The devil has the power to distract you from the things of God, by things and people in the world around you. The devil has the power to present obstacles in your path to slow you down, discourage your walk with God, take you from your path to God, reroute your life, derail your life, stop you in your growth with God. The devil has the resources and power to tempt you to sin and forsake your God, tempt you to turn from the Light of Christ to the darkness of sin, tempt you into unbelief. The path to Heaven, the entrance into the Kingdom of God is through faith in Christ Jesus to salvation, which is daily walking in faith with Christ Jesus to Glory. To receive the inheritance of God, the promises of God, which is eternal life, we must turn from darkness to light and turn from the power of satan and turn to the power of God, and receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 26:18). We must not let our present temporary circumstances to effect our relationship with Jesus and our eternal destiny. We should never let our temporary circumstances effect our eternal permanent life. Everything happening around us and to us is temporal, not eternal, our present circumstances and problems will not last (2 Corinthians 4:18). By living in faith every day with Christ, looking to Jesus every day, we can see past our present circumstances to our future home in Glory with God forever.
No one has the power to resist the devil's temptations to sin without God.
Why can't we just live our lives the way we want to, why must we choose God or satan. Why must we choose either one? God says that all men must choose, life or death; and, God says "Choose life".
What if I don't chose one or the other? Everyone makes a choice, either to live with God or live without God. You choose one way or the other. You choose by default. When you come to the end of a road which has a left road and a right road, and you choose to go left you have chosen NOT to go right. Since you chose to go left, you forfeit all that is on the right road.
Some people want to live their lives on their own terms, they don't want to choose either one, God or satan. Unbelief is a choice, just as faith in God to salvation is a choice. Some people don't believe in satan, and don't feel that they choose satan, just because they don't choose God. Some people think that they are okay, living a good life is good enough, they believe that they don't need to choose God. The Word of God reads that life and death is set before each of us and we cannot choose both.
This scriptures states that we cannot live for Christ and live for satan, we cannot partake in both. Drinking from the cup of devils, partaking of the table of devils is willfully sinning, living life your own way, living separated from God, which is living in sin, and/or sinning on purpose, and/or thinking about sin, and/or arranging time to sin, and/or planning sin, and/or viewing sin, and/or partaking in sin. God says in His word, if we are willfully living in sin, that we are NOT living for Him, we are NOT serving Him, we are NOT of God. Not choosing who to serve is choosing, because no one can serve both God and sin. Do NOT be deceived, no one who lives in sin is serving God. If you are living in sin, then you are NOT serving God.
This verse states that we cannot be in alliance with both the Lord God and with the devil at the same time. We cannot be Christians and willfully and purposefully live in sin. No one can have two masters. We can have only one master of our lives. We can have only one master over our lives, either we live in the righteousness of God, or we live in the sin of the devil. We cannot have two masters. This Scripture tells us all that no one can serve both God and sin, we are either serving one or the other, AND that we cannot serve God and any other. If you believe you are serving God, while living in sin, you are only deceiving yourself, you are lying to yourself. Everyone must make a choice who to serve - God or Satan. There is no middle ground. You cannot serve God and do the sin of the devil.
God says that every kingdom divided against itself shall not stand, will fail, will be destroyed.
The devil is real. The fact is that the devil is real. It doesn't matter if you believe he does or not. The devil himself would rather that you not believe that he is real, that way he has you by default, meaning he doesn't have to convince you of anything. The devil exists rather or not you believe in him or not. We must know how to protect ourselves from the devil.
Unlike some popular beliefs, the devil is not dressed in red with a pitch fork in his hand, a pointy tail and horns. Drawings and movies have depicted satan this way for centuries. The movies show the devil as comical, a buffoon, or even sometimes a hero, which either way satisfies the real satan. Actually, the devil would rather people not believe in him or to even think about him at all. If we think he is a funny character, a joke, or a hero, it is easier for him to creep into our lives and steal our souls. If people do not think that satan can hurt them, then they will let him into their lives. If you think satan is your buddy, then he can come into your life and destroy your life, without you putting up a defense. What does the Scriptures say the devil looks like? Physically there is no description of satan. We do know from Scripture the traits of the devil, his character. The word of God states that the devil is the father of lies and deception and he can transform himself into the appearance of good.
Please note the Scripture said satan is transformed, meaning that satan is NOT an angel of light, but transforms himself INTO the appearance of an angel of light. What appears to be true is not always true. Outward appearance is not always truth. Just because someone looks good on the outside, doesn't mean that they are a good person on the inside, or that they know God. The devil, who is the father of deception, converts many people by tricking them into believing he is good, or his thoughts are good. Satan might transform himself into an angel of light, but he cannot stay that way, sooner or later he turns back into himself, which is darkness and evil. We have all been deceived by someone in our lives. Someone appears to be our friend but they are actually our enemy. They cannot live in their lies forever, the truth comes out eventually. There are people and media that are sympathetic toward satan, making the audience feel sorry for him, as some simple, misunderstood, good natured, friendly guy. This is a lie, because there is absolutely nothing good about the devil. DO NOT BE DECEIVED, satan wants nothing but to destroy and kill all of mankind in the most horrific way. The devil can look like anything he chooses, he can look like your friend, he can look like anyone or anything, for now, but he will be exposed to all mankind in the end, by God Himself. The devil will be revealed to the whole world for who he really is one day. The devil will be cast into hell for eternity one day.
The devil knows his eternal destiny, do you?
The father of deceptionSatan is the creator of deception. The devil is the father of lies.
There are no lies in truth. There is no such thing as a partial lie, or partial truth. When truth is compromised it becomes a lie. Truth is void of all lies, partial or otherwise. Lies are void of the truth. There is no such thing as a little lie. All lies are lies. There is no such thing as a little sin. All sin is sin. There is no truth in a lie. There are no lies in the truth. God is opposed to all lies, because God is truth. All lies are an abomination to God, detestable to God, foul and putrid to God, disgusting to God, an offense to God. All lies are against God. All liars are against God. When we lie, we are following the father of lies, the devil, and not the Father of Truth, Almighty God. The children of God are to follow God in truth. God loves us all and wants us all to live with Him forever. God desires us to be where He created us to be, which is with Him now and for all eternity. The forever of God is more beautiful and more wonderful than anything we have or know today. God does not want any of us to hurt, to be hurt, to be sad and unhappy. God loves us and desires all the very best for us and for our lives. God is for us. God desires us to be full of peace and joy and love, abundantly happy, and God knows how we can obtain all that He wants to give us. In order for us to receive love and give love, have abundant peace and joy, we must avoid lying and deceit. We must avoid lying and deceit in all things, in all circumstances, no matter what, in order to be in the will of God, to please God.
God instructs us as how we can obtain, receive everything that we need and want to enjoy our lives. God gives us instructions as how we can have all the love, peace and joy in this world and the next, and His guidance and instruction is written down for all people in His Holy Word, His Holy Scriptures, the Word of God. By following God's instructions we are promised blessings beyond measure, abundant love and peace, and all the riches of His Kingdom in Heaven. One set of these instructions is called the ten commandments, and at number nine is "do not lie". God gives us His word for our instruction, to guide us from this world to the next, to guide us from death to life - His life - eternal life with Him forever. There are many reasons why we shouldn't lie. Being that God is truth, this fact should be enough. The fact that satan is the father of lies, should motivate any child of God to avoid lying like the plague. Actually, lying is like a plague, it starts by one and spreads quickly, consuming all in its path until it has destroyed and killed everything and everyone. As the children of God, we have surrendered our life to God, accepted Jesus as our Saviour and the Lord over all our life. The family of God are those who hear God's word and do it (Luke 8:21). As believers we love God and desire to follow His will, not our own will, because we love Him so.
We show God how much we love Him by our obedience, following His way. We show God how much we love Him by how we keep His commandments. We love God and desire to please God, and we can show God that we love Him and desire to please Him by obeying His Holy Word. We bring joy to God our Father in Heaven when we walk in truth - His truth - without lying to anyone about anything.
Do not be deceived - NO lie is okay with God - God does not condone any lie from anyone for any reason.
NO lie is acceptable to GodGod commands us not to lie. One of God's 10 commandments that He gave us is DO NOT LIE to anyone about anything (Exodus 20:16; Deuteronomy 5:20). God says not to lie at all. The devil will try and deceive you, trick you into telling any sort of lie, because he knows that NO lie is acceptable to God. The devil knows if you will tell a lie, you will eventually tell another lie, then another, and another, and you will be lying so much that you can't even tell the truth from your own lies, then the devil wins.
Liars will not go unpunished. God says all who lie will not escape punishment. No one is exempt from the judgment of God, no one will escape God's judgment.
We should never think that because we say that we are a Christian or because we are saved that we are immune from God's Word, God's commandments, or God's punishment. For more information see - DO NOT LIE
The devil is our enemyThe Devil is called Satan, Lucifer, the Evil one, the wicked one, the old serpent. The Devil is evil, a liar and a thief. The devil will deceive you with his lies and try to steal your soul. No one is exempt from the temptations of the devil. Satan is extremely cunning with his deception. He is the original confidence man (con man). He will try and trick you into believing his lies. No one can resist the devil without God. The saved and unsaved need God to resist and overcome the devil. The devil is our adversary and our enemy. Always be on your guard against the devil, the devil never stops, the devil never sleeps, the devil operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The devil is on the prowl and hunting for his next victim.
Don't let satan's next victim be you! You are not capable of resisting the devil by yourself, you need God.
The devil will trick you if you let him into believing his lies, with a hidden agenda to drag you to hell with him.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED by the devil. Do not give the devil an inch, a drop, a speck of your life. He needs so little from you to put his hooks into your life, in order to tear your life apart and send you to everlasting hell fire. The devil is the friend of no one, he is the enemy of God and of all mankind.
The devil is the accuserWe know the devil is a liar, but he is also the accuser. Have you ever been accused of something, that you did or didn't do? I imagine that we all have at one point or another in our lifetime been accused of something. Some people are so good at accusing people that they can even make you doubt the truth. This is what the devil does, he accuses people so convincingly that we doubt what we know is the truth. The devil accused Adam and Eve, that they truly didn't believe what God told them in the Garden of Eden. The devil is the accuser, not only to us, but to God. The devil accused Job of not being faithful to God. Then the devil accused God of Job's unfaithfulness. The devil accuses you and me of not being faithful to God, not believing in God's word, not being a good child of God. The devil plants his lies and accusations, with the whole purpose to bring us to doubt God, God's word, and God's truth. Many people are easily persuaded by the devil's accusations. Many people choose to believe the lies and accusations of the devil over the truth of God and His word. One example is God's love. We know it is a truth that God loves all people. We know for a truth that God does not want any person on this planet to perish and die without the knowledge of Him. We know for a truth that God wants us all to have peace and joy in this life and the next. But so many people refuse to accept God's love. Many people believe the accusations of satan, who says to them, "God can't possibly love you, no one loves you, look at what you have done, you are a miserable person", "God doesn't love you", "You are worthless, unlovable" - these are all lies that the accuser, the devil says to people every day. Why don't some people believe that God loves them? Because, satan - the accuser - lies about God's love to people every minute of every day. The list of accusations the devil uses against people are endless. The fact is that one day, God will end the reign of the devil forever among mankind. One day the devil will be silenced against God's children forever, and satan will accuse no one anymore.
The devil brought death into this worldBefore the devil, there was no death. The devil brought death to mankind into this world. Before the devil, there was no sin, no one had ever sinned against God, and there was no death, because there was no sin. After sin was birthed by satan, there were consequences established by God for sin, which is death.
Sin brought death to all mankind, but God didn't make us for sin, He made us for Himself, for His love. So, God made a way out for us to escape sin and death, and this path was brought to mankind through the Son of God, Jesus Christ, through the gift of God, which is eternal life, received through faith in Jesus Christ. God's love conquers death, the love He gave us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God's love gave us a way out, a way to escape the results of sin which is death. God gave us His love through His only begotten Son, Jesus. All we must do is ask God for His gift of eternal life and receive it.
The devil hates all humankindDo not be deceived by satan, the devil is in allegiance with NO human being. The devil is no one's ally. The devil is no one's friend. Satan hates all humankind because we are the creation of the God Almighty and we are loved by God. The only agenda of satan is to destroy, wipe out all humankind.
The devil may promise all things, but he has nothing to give. Satan has nothing to give to anyone except death. The devil has no loyalty with any one. The devil wants the same thing for all people, those people who serve him daily and those people who don't, to devour and destroy them all. The devil cannot give any person anything, because the devil has nothing. Serving the devil to receive something is a lie. The devil is the ruler of nothing, his followers will inherit nothing but eternal death in hell. Those who follow the devil are the followers, the servants of nothing, the children of nothing. The devil is the king of nothing, the devil reigns in the kingdom of nothing, the kingdom of darkness, the kingdom of void. The followers of the devil will never see the devil, when they follow him into hell. Hell is void and darkness, isolation from everyone and everything, and most importantly hell is eternal separation from God. Hell is eternal separation from God, and any hope of God, and ever knowing God. Hell is void. Hell is void of God. Hell is void of hope, all hope. Hell is void of hope of God. Hell is total isolation, total loneliness, total emptiness, total and eternal torment. Hell is NOT a big party with the devil. Hell is void of everything and everyone. Hell contains no drink of any kind, hell is eternal burning thirst.
Hell is vast darkness and contains no light of any kind. Hell is eternal separation from all things, total aloneness and contains no companionship, you will see no one, you will speak with no one, you will touch no one, no one will see you, no one will talk to you, no one will touch you, no one will hear you. Hell contains no friends. Hell is void of love. Hell has no one to love, you will not receive love, you will not give love, there is no love in hell, because God is love and God does not exist in hell. Hell is void of hope. Hell has no hope, you will have no hope for anything to ever change in hell. Hell is void of hope, because God alone gives hope to all mankind and God does not exist in hell. Hell is void of peace and rest. No one has peace and rest in hell. God is the God of peace and rest is in Him alone. Hell is void of God and His peace and rest. The devil knows his destiny, do you? The devil knows that in the end, that he and all his followers will be cast into hell and separated away from God for all eternity, don't let this be your destiny also, don't follow satan into hell.
Have you ever noticed the name of the devil? Look at what's in his name. There is "evil" even in the very name of the devil, d-evil. The devil is evil.
The following are names of the devil used in Scripture: Accuser
Adversary
Beelzebub the prince of the devils
Devil; the prince of devils
Matthew 9:34
Dragon; great dragon
Enemy
Father of lies
Lucifer
Murderer
Satan
Serpent; old serpent
Tempter
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: - James 1:13
The son of perdition
Wicked one
Counterfeit 'son of the morning'; False 'angel of light' The devil is a counterfeit version of the truth. The devil puts forth an appearance of truth but is far from it. The devil has tried to disguise himself from the beginning, transforming himself to pass himself off as the true God but has and will always fall short and will always lose. Beware of the devil's disguises. The devil is a liar and a deceiver. The devil will try and fool you and disguise himself as the 'son of the morning', and as an 'angel of light'. There is nothing but darkness in satan, no true light.
There is only one true God, one true Son of the Morning, the Bright and Morning Star and one true Light, the Light of the world who is Jesus the Christ.
There is but one God of all things, one true God of this World, only one Prince of Peace. There is only one True God of all. The devil has made himself the prince of this evil world only because the true God has permitted it to be so. The devil has no real lasting power. The devil only has the power that God has given to him. There is no real power but the power of God.
The end of all - the devil and all who follow him -all who reject the power of God is the same - eternal damnation.
The devil knows his destiny - do you?
Great dragon, old serpent, devil, satan, the wicked one, satan didn't start out evil, but he started out as an angel, called Lucifer. Satan was an angel of God who disobeyed the will of God, the devil wanted to be God. The devil declared himself to be above God.
There is only one God and there will only be one God forever. God knowing that this angel would not turn back to Him was cast out from Heaven along with all the angels that followed him.
The devil reached the point of no return with God, a point that God alone knows, the devil grieved the Holy Spirit, and was separated from the love of God for all eternity. The devil decided to rebuke God, the devil made a choice to turn against God. God forces no one to follow Him, not even an angel, and not you or me. God gives all of His creation free-will to choose, to choose life or death, to choose God's path or their own. Although God gives us all a choice, God desires us to choose life - His life, eternal life with Him - to choose His love, to choose light over darkness, to choose eternal life over eternal death. Deuteronomy 30:19; John 3:16.
It may surprise you to know that the devils believe that there is one God.
Yes, even the devil and his fallen angels believe that there is one God, but the devil does NOT believe in God for his salvation.
Believing that there is one God and believing in that one God for your salvation are two different beliefs. When someone tells us that they believe in one God, they can still be of the devil. Some people that say they believe in one God, can still be evil and belong to the devil. Just because some says that they believe that there is one God, doesn't mean they are saved, that they believe in God for their salvation, and that they are a believer of Jesus Christ, it doesn't mean they are godly. Believing in one God doesn't make someone godly. Believing in one God doesn't make someone good or righteous. Believing that there is only one God does NOT give you salvation or eternal life.
Believing there is one God is not the same as believing in God, having faith in God for the salvation of your soul. Knowing that there is one God, is not knowing God. Knowing about God is not knowing God personally. The devil knows Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but the devil does NOT believe in Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. Faith in God as Lord and Saviour over your life, trusting God with all your heart and soul is the difference, of believing in one God and believing in One God to salvation. The devil knows that there is one God, but he does not know God as his personal Lord and Saviour. The devil does not have saving faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord. The devil knows who God is, but does not believe in God as the Almighty God, and does not serve God and does not have faith in Jesus Christ as the Saviour of his soul. Satan does not want God to be his ruler. Satan wants to be like the most High God. Satan wants to ascend above the heights of God. Satan wants to be greater than God. Satan falsely believes he is like God. Satan falsely believes in himself as supreme ruler. Yet, satan also knows his destiny.
There is a difference between knowing about God and believing in God, having faith in God, surrendering all your life to Christ Jesus as your Lord and Master of your life. Yes, the devil knows who God is, but he refuses to place his complete faith and trust in God, the devil wants to do things his own way, not God's way, the devil follows his own selfish will, the devil refuses to follow God's will. Knowing all that he does, knowing the punishment set in place for him in the end, the devil still chooses to do things his own way, follow his own path, knowing that his destiny is and will forever be eternal death in hell. Why does the devil choose to go to hell, instead of accepting God in faith for salvation? The devil is prideful, sinful, envious, hateful, deceitful, wicked, self-centered, greedy, fearful, unbelieving, hater of God, defiled, abominable, a liar, and a thief. The devil refuses to believe the truth.
The devil chooses to live in unbelief that God is who He says that God alone can give salvation, the devil chooses his own way instead of placing God first and the devil refuses to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The devil knows his destiny, do you?
The devil wants to destroy and kill mankind, because God created us, because God loves us and because we love God. The devil wants the same thing since the beginning of our creation, in the garden of Eden, the devil wants to separate us (human kind) from God. The devil wants to be God. The devil hates God. The devil hates all things created by God. The devil is already separated from God for eternity and he knows it, the devil made his choice to forsake God a long time ago. Today, the devil wants you and he wants me. The devil wants as many people as he can to destroy and kill and take to hell with him, that is the goal of satan. God created man and woman in His own image. God loves His human creation. God wants all mankind to spend eternity with Him in His Kingdom of Heaven. God desires us to be where He created us to be which is with Him now and for all eternity. The ultimate goal of the devil is to separate all mankind away from God for eternity. Humans eternal separation from God is what the devils wants. The devil is still rebelling against God. The devil still wants to be above God. The devil still wants to be God. The devil wants to take away from God all of God's creation, all His followers and all possible followers. The devil wants everyone to follow him and worship him. The devil hates all of God's creations, especially man. The devil wants to destroy all humankind. The devil hates mankind so much because God loves us so much and God created us in His own image. The devil tried to tempt Jesus into sin. The devil was of course unsuccessful in tempting Jesus because Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus is above all temptation, and as God, Jesus did not, will not, and cannot sin.
The above scriptures is when the devil tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. Jesus did NOT yield to the temptation set before Him by the devil. Jesus did not sin when the devil tempted Him. Satan tried to tempt Jesus with everything in the world, saying that he (the devil) would give all to Jesus, if Jesus would just fall down and worship him (the devil). Of course, Jesus knew there is only one God whom we all should worship and it is not the devil. Jesus knew that the devil had nothing to give Him. (The devil can't give anyone the world, because the devil can't give anyone what he doesn't own. The devil still uses this line today, to tempt people into worshiping him, by telling them that he will give them the world if they worship him, if they follow him. But just like in the past, the devil can't deliver, because the devil owns nothing, has nothing, and is nothing.) Jesus quoted Scripture to the devil - "for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve". Jesus also told satan to "Get thee hence, Satan" - get away from Me, depart from Me, leave Me immediately, and the devil left Him. (Today, we have the same power through Christ, if we submit to God and resist the devil, God promises us today that the devil will leave us. James 4:7). Take special note again to how Jesus dealt with the devil.
Today we can do the same thing when we are tempted by the devil:
When you are tempted by the devil -Quote the word of God and Command the devil to GO AWAY!
The recipe to defeat the devil is simple, but not always easy. The word of God is our sword to combat all evil and we are given authority as the children of God to command the devil to "Get thee hence" to depart from us. We are promised by God, if we submit ourselves to God, resist the devil that he will flee from us.
Do not underestimate satan AND always remember that our Father God is greater than satan and God will ultimately and completely destroy satan.
When we are saved, God dwells in us, God abides in us if we abide in Him - and greater is God that is in us than satan that is in this world. Note that satan is in this world, not in us, satan is hanging out in the world, but God is abiding inside of us, guiding us, empowering us to overcome the devil, helping us on our journey to Him every day.
God is greater than satan. The power of God is greater than the power of satan. The power of God has always been greater than satan's power, and will always be greater than satan's. People become overcome with the devil, when they believe that satan's power is greater than God, which is not true.
Satan is extremely cleaver. The devil has been doing evil for a very, very long time. Over thousands of years, the devil has perfected his craft of evil. The devil knows your weaknesses and he knows how to deceive and manipulate human beings. No human being has a chance against the devil, without God. Our defense and our shield against satan lies in our hope in Christ Jesus, our faith in God and trust in God, the faith that God is all powerful, and faith that God is able to deliver us from anything and everything satan throws at us. (Psalm 7:10, 59:9, 16, 17, 89:18, 94:22, 28:7, 115:11, Proverbs 30:5, 2 Samuel 22:3) Don't underestimate the devil. The devil has determination. The devil is unmovable from his course.
The devil is the father of lies. The devil has specific goals and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He will ruin your life and take your life in the end, if you let him.
The devil is death and destruction. The devil will destroy what he cannot kill, and kill all he can destroy. The devil will promise anything and everything, the riches of the world, but the devil has nothing to give, but eternity in hell.
The devil wants to con everyone and drag as many people as he can with him to his eternity of darkness and separation from God.
Do not be deceived, satan wants us to be consumed with our problems. The devil wants us to put our focus on our problems and not focus on God. We either magnify our problems, or we magnify God. Remember, when we magnify God, it is impossible to magnify our problems. The devil wants us to be depressed and sick physically and mentally. The devil wants us to relive our painful past over and over again, to dwell on hurtful things so they can eat up our lives, consume us, destroy us. The devil wants control of our lives. If you are focused on your problems, then you are not focused on God. The devil wants our problems to consume us and to depress us and bring us down. The devil wants us to talk about our problems over and over, all the time, he doesn’t want us to talk about God and how wonderful is Jesus. The devil knows that if we are talking about our problems, that we are not talking about Jesus. The world talks and talks about problems. The news is talking and talking about problems. Talk and worry about everything. God doesn’t want us to talk about our problems. God wants to help us to deal with and resolve our problems. As the children of the Most High God, we are able to give all our problems to God (Psalm 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7). The devil knows if we talk and talk about our problems we are not solving them, and we are not focusing on God. Our problems is one way the devil separates us from God, which is satan's main goal.
In order to recognize the devil and his ways, we must look to the scripture to hear what God has to say. Lies from the devil. Satan is the father of lies, the author of lies, the inventor of lies. There are so many lies from the devil, it would be impossible to list them all, but let’s look at a few.
Self-will.First lie disputed - There is no self-will. We are either doing God’s will or the devil’s will. Self-will is of the devil, and not of God. Just know - if it is not God's will, that it is the devil's will. Please don't confuse self-will with free will, because they are not the same. The gift of God is free will to all mankind. Man is given free will by God to choose his own eternity. Every creature God created was given free will to choose God. God does not force His love on anyone. God does not force anyone to answer His call to them, to come to Him. The devil has used his own will - the devil's will - to corrupt people since the beginning of time. The devil convinced Adam and Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit, even after God told them not to. The devil tempted man to sin against God. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they were not following God's will, they followed the devil's will, their selfish will. Their self-will, the devil's will, convinced them NOT to follow God's will. The result of following their self-will was sin and death. Today, the result of following our self-will is still sin and death.
And the serpent said, "Ye shall not surely die". But wait, God said you would die. Who did Adam and Eve believe? Who did Adam and Eve trust with their life? Just as Adam and Eve - today when we remove our trust away from God, to other people and other things, we sin against God, we lose. The first time satan came in contact with man satan lied - satan deceived man into committing sin against God. The devil did this by getting man to disobey God, turn their back on God, disobey God's will. The devil deceived Adam and Eve into trusting him, over trusting God. The devil told man, "don't believe God, believe me, you will not die", "don't believe what God says, believe what I say, believe what satan says", and it worked. Man disobeyed God and man obeyed satan. Man turned away from God to the devil. Adam and Eve both yielded to the devil's temptation and committed sin against God. Satan's lie worked on man in the garden of Eden, and the devil has been using the same lie ever since man was created. "Listen to me" the devil says to us, "disobey God, you will not die, if you commit this sin, you will become as gods". But the devil was wrong in the Garden of Eden, just like he is today. If we sin and disobey God and turn away from God and obey the devil we will die.
The wages of sin is death and hasn't changed since the beginning of time. No one is exempt from this Scripture or from any word of God. To eat the forbidden fruit, that God told Adam and Eve not to eat, this was the devil’s idea to disobey God, not Adam and Eve's idea to disobey God. Even though sin was not Adam and Eve's original idea, it was the devil's, they both chose to follow the devil into sin, they followed the wrong idea, and they sinned against God. Satan presented sin in a different way. Satan appealed to the self will of man. Satan tempted Adam and Eve with man's reasoning, man's logic, man's self worth. They were tempted by satan and they yielded to the temptation, they gave in to sin. Being tempted by satan is not sin, but giving in to sin is sin. We commit sin against God when we yield to temptation, give in and follow temptation to sin. Following satan into sin is death. The same is true today, temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is sin. Sin hasn't changed in thousands of years, all sin is sin - and all sin is sin against God. The devil lied to them and convinced them that this is something that they wanted. Adam and Eve thought it was their own self-will, but it wasn’t self-will, it was the devil’s will. And the devil has been leading people away from God ever since then. By convincing us it is something that we want, it is good for us, it’s our self-will, when in reality it is the devil’s will. Please DO NOT be deceived by the devil, our self-will is never God's will.
The devil knows that we would not purposely do the devil’s will. Satan knows that self-will sounds so much nicer, better, even noble. Satan makes self-will sound purposeful and courageous, even our right as free people, our duty to have self-will. "It is what I want", "I must have it", "I deserve it", "I need it", "I can't live without it", "I will get it". Self-will is all lies straight from the devil himself. Self-will is the first lie, the first trap satan caught man in, and he has been using it as his snare since the world began. The devil uses self-will because it is so effective and easy and so attractive. We let our pride, our self-will blind us to what is right and wrong. The devil wants to convince us that we are just as good as God, that we are equal to God, that we really don't need God. This is what the devil believes for himself, and he wants to spread his evil cancer to all people. God created Adam and Eve and placed them in paradise on earth. They had everything, they lived in peace and harmony and love. They talked with God and walked with God in His garden of Eden. Why did they betray God? Whey did they forsake God for the devil? Why did they place their trust in satan, instead of remaining faithful to God? We are no different than Adam and Eve, we have everything, yet we choose not to listen to God when He gives us instruction, and we end up paying a big price for our self-will, when we follow the devil’s will, instead of following God's will. So when I look at things God’s way, it is very simple, I want to follow God’s will, certainly not the devil’s will, which is self-will.
We are not to worry about anything, we know that God will deliver us out of temptations from the devil. The devil has no power over the children of God. As believers, all we need is faith in God, we don't fear the devil, because our God who we trust is greater than the devil. As a believer, there is only one way for me to live, which is to follow God’s will.
One day the Lord will return and this world, this earth as we know, it will be destroyed. God says that those who do His will, the will of God, will live forever. The will of God is to obtain salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, by the grace of God, and to live to bring glory to God.
Denying our self-will.As believers of Christ Jesus, we must all put away self-will and receive God's will in our lives, and in every part of our lives and for eternity. If we cannot abandon our self will for Christ, we cannot follow God's will. To follow Jesus, we must deny 'self'.
How do we deny self? When we seek the kingdom of God, when we earnestly seek the will of God, when we put God first before what we want, we deny self. God says if you lift up yourself you will be lowered.
We are not to be puffed up, thinking we did this and we did that in our lives. We don't do anything, God is in control and He gives us everything good in our lives. As believers we must lose our self will and give all control of our lives over to God. We either forsake self-will or we forsake God's will, we cannot have both.
If we do not give all of our life to Christ Jesus, we cannot receive eternal life. We must let go of our hold of sin, to take hold of Christ. If we hold onto our sin, the lusts of this world, false pleasures of this world, we do not give all of our life to Christ. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? When we give our life to Christ, He gives us a new life, an eternal life.
When we surrender all to Christ Jesus, we have denied self. Denying self is not something we do once and then we never have to bother with it again. Denying self is a daily activity. Every day we deny self and every day we take up our cross, and every day we follow the ways of Christ.
Salvation is NOT temporary, our faith and trust in God is NOT temporary, faith is something that we must practice every day. We must deny self every day, take up our cross every day, follow Christ every day. If your faith and trust in God is temporary, so is your salvation. True, genuine salvation is continuing faith in Jesus Christ and trust in God every day, exercising obedience to God every day, following Christ every day, denying self every day. The unfaithful, the unbelieving will never see God. Only the faithful in Christ will see the Kingdom of God, enter the gates of Heaven, spend eternity with God.
We must hold onto our faith, practice our faith till we die, endure until the end of our lives to receive the salvation of God.
What are we to endure? The word of God reads that we are to endure all things, all tribulations, all temptations, all persecutions, all tribulations, all hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
God owns salvation, we don't. We own nothing, all things belong to God. When we die, God will look into our hearts, if He sees faith in Christ Jesus abiding in us, we receive the salvation of our souls, and are granted entrance into the Kingdom of God. Those who die and are found by God unbelieving, without faith in Christ Jesus, will receive the wrath of God, the judgment of God, will be cast out from the presence of the Lord God for all eternity. Living for sin, living in sin, contemplating sin, thinking about sin, planning sin, desiring sin, practicing sin every day, is NOT enduring in faith until the end. DO NOT BE DECEIVED - Denying sin is a requirement for eternal salvation. The unfaithful, those living in sin, living for sin, desiring sin, living for the flesh, living for self, will never see the salvation of their souls, will never see God. The faithful of God deny self, forsake sin, turn away from sin, and take hold of Christ Jesus, serve Christ not their flesh.
The Word of God give us all direction, instructions how we can resist the devil.
Know the enemyWe can resist the devil by knowing who the devil is and what the devil uses to trip us up. By knowing satan's ways, his methods, his tools that he uses to trick us into believing in him instead of believing in God, we can avoid falling for his lies, and we can resist the devil. No one goes into war without knowing their enemy. No one goes into battle without knowing the weapons of their enemy. Knowing the traits and tools of the devil can help us to avoid them and defend our lives against them.
What are the traits of the devil? What are his tools? What does the devil use in his war against us?Who is the devil? The devil is the opposite of God. God is good and the devil is evil. The path to God leads to eternal life and the devil's path leads to eternal death. God saves and the devil destroys. Knowing this principle, it is easy to know the traits of the devil.
God is good; and the devil is evil.
God is true; and the devil is false.
God is love; and the devil is hate.
GOD is truth; and the devil is lies and deceit.
GOD is life; and the devil is death.
GOD is Spiritual; and the devil is carnal.
GOD is righteousness and the devil is sin and all unrighteousness.
GOD is Holy; and the devil is unholy.
GOD is freedom; and the devil is bondage.
We either serve self and the devil or we serve Christ. We are OF whom we serve, either servants of God or servants of the devil.
God says no one can have two masters, we either serve one or the other, God or satan. God says that we are the servants of whom we obey. Those who obey God are the servants of God and those who obey satan are the servants of the devil.
Only those people who have faith in God, serve the Lord Jesus Christ will receive the reward of inheritance into the Kingdom of God.
If we serve the devil, serve the lusts of our flesh, serve sin, we will reap death and receive the reward of the wicked for the wrong we have done, NO MATTER who we think or say we are.
GOD is for me; and the devil is against me.
People of this world may fail me, but I know that my God will never fail me. God is for me. God is always on my side, I abide in Him and He abides in me!! Hallelujah!!
The end of unrighteousness is death. All unrighteousness is sin.
All people who love sin, cannot cease from sinning, who love unrighteousness, covetous, are the cursed children of the devil and will receive the reward of unrighteousness which is eternal death with their father, satan, separated from the presence of God for eternity. All unrighteousness is sin and the wages of sin is death.
Obeying sin, serving sin, and following sin leads to only one place, death and hell.
Find out the tools that the devil will try and use on you. This section has been moved to its own page. Please go to - Tools of the devil.
Are you yielding to sin, or are you yielding to God? Remember the Devil is very deceptive, he is extremely convincing. If you are doing what is good and not sinning you are serving God, but if you are doing evil and sinning you are serving the Devil.
Who is your master? Who are you serving? Are you the servant of God, or the servant of the devil?
You are either serving God or serving the devil.
God says you cannot have it both ways. You cannot serve God sometimes and also serve the devil. You cannot serve God on Sunday and the devil the rest of the week. It just doesn't work that way.
Sin is of the devil.
In order to defeat the devil, you must be saved. God is our defense against the devil. Without God you cannot resist the devil.
Submit yourself to God, give your all to God. Give full control of yourself to God. Don't hold anything back, give all your life to God. Resist the devil. Say NO to the devil and he will run from you. Sounds too easy, but it is true, because God said so. We are to fear the LORD and depart from evil. We are not to be around, hang around evil people or evil things. Why would we put ourselves around evil to be tempted by the devil? This includes what we see and hear. If it is not of God, it is of the devil and is evil. Don't go to places that are evil, don't be around evil people, who can persuade you to do evil things, that are not of God.
By God's mercy and truth, sin is removed and through fear of the LORD we keep sin out of our lives. (This of course doesn't mean we are not to witness to everyone, we will need to be around sinful people to witness to them, but we do not have to go along with their sinful ways. Jesus did not do the sin of the sinful he preached to, Jesus didn't follow them into sin, He told sinners to follow Him.)
Put on the full armor of God.In order to armor ourselves with God, we need to read and study the Word of God daily. Studying God's word will make us strong.
We fight against spiritual wickedness. To fight off evil, to withstand evil every day, we must put on the whole armor of God. God will shield us from the devil. God will help in our daily fight against the devil.
We stand firm in the whole armor of God:
We are to be alert and pray always to God.
Studying the holy Word of God gives us strength and power to resist the devil.
Studying the Word of God is the key to knowledge.
If we keep God first in our lives there is no room for the devil.
God will give us the power to defeat the devil.
When God dwells inside of us, the devil can’t.
Evil cannot live where God lives. You are what you eat. If you feed on the word of God daily, you will be full of love, hope, and godliness. If you feed on the evils of the world every day, your heart will be full of ungodly evil.
When we are saved and believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and continue our walk with God and grow in our faith, we are believers. If we endure and continue our walk with Christ and grow in the knowledge of God and love God and Christ Jesus and keep His commandments and obey His word, we as the children of God, believers, we are protected from the evil of the devil. God protects His children from the devil. The devil does NOT have any authority over the children of God.
The Spirit of God who lives in all believers of Christ Jesus is greater, greater in strength and greater in power, than the devil that is in this world - 1 John 4:4. The devil does NOT have any power over believers, the children of God. Satan has power over darkness, unbelievers are in darkness. God is light, believers are the children of Light, the children of God.
At salvation the sin veil is lifted from our hearts, our eyes are opened, we are turned from darkness to light, the bondage of sin is broken off of our lives, we are set free from sin and death, we receive forgiveness of sin, and are sanctified by our faith in Christ Jesus.
Believers wrestle against powers, we are tested and tried and by resisting evil we overcome satan through faith and strength from our Almighty God and Saviour. We will be tempted by satan and wrestle against powers of darkness, but satan does not have any power over believers.
Believers combat satan with the whole armour of God.
The whole armor of God is found in Ephesians 6, read it and learn it so you will "be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked".
We combat and defeat the devil the same exact way that Jesus did with the living Word of God. It is written. Jesus when he was tempted by the devil quoted to the devil the living Word of God, Jesus said "It is written". With the power of the Word of God the devil was refuted, put down, silenced, defeated and forced to flee (Matthew 4:10). This is why it is so important that we know God's Word through and through, that we study and meditate on His Word, that we pray His word, that we remain forever in His word, because the Word of God contains the power of God.
Power through Salvation. Salvation is surrendering ourselves to God, submitting our lives to God and includes our commitment to learning of Him, commitment to seeking His ways, knowing all we can about our Creator, our God, our King, our Lord and Savior - not because we have to but because we want to because we love God more than anything. 1 Kings 2:3 Believers live and breathe Jesus, we live and breathe the word of God, the world of God in intertwined, intermingled in our speech, in our thoughts, in our lives.
"The God of my life" is with me and is my strength to overcome every issue of this life, complete my course, and will be my reward at the end of my journey of faith (Psalm 42:8). Believers combat the devil with the word of God by putting on the whole armor of God.
The Whole Armor of GOD. Please read Ephesians 6 to find out exactly what is the whole armor of God - Loins girt with truth - breastplate of righteousness - feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace - shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked - helmet of salvation - sword of the Spirit which is the word of God - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. God is always with us. Believers are never alone in battling the devil as we have Christ Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit, we have God who is for us and holds all power. No matter where we are in this life, no matter where we go in this life, no matter who we are with in this life - God is with me.
The belief that illness, disease, cancer is a demon or evil spirit is not biblical. Jesus healed multitudes of people will illness and evil spirits. Each time His miracles of healing is recorded the two are separate. The Scriptures list infirmities, illnesses, disease, blindness, deafness, the miracle of lame to walk, are all listed separately from evil spirits. Jesus healed people of their infirmities and evil spirits.
Infirmities are separate from demons, this is why Jesus always healed people of their infirmities and of devils. We are not ill because we are bad, have sinned, didn't tithe, or have some how lost favor with God. Do not be deceived. Many false teachers are out in this world claiming to have the cure for what ails you, but there is only one who has the cure - and His name is Jesus. God loves us. God loves us in full view of our imperfections. Yes, God desires that we live in His righteousness, that we follow His word, that we obey His commandments, but God loves us and favors us even though we fall short of everything that we know that is right to do. Our righteousness does not bring love or favor with God. None of us are righteous no not one. Only God is righteous. We can put on the righteousness of Christ Jesus through salvation. We can abide in the gospel of Christ, we can conduct our lives in faith and control our flesh with the power and strength of Jesus. You do not have power over God's actions. No one person can control the actions - love, hate, favor, blessings of God. We do not control the actions or the love or the favor of God by our actions. God alone is in full control, complete power over His actions, over His love, over His favor, over His grace, over His mercy. God loves us and desires us in spite of our inabilities, in spite of our imperfections, in spite of our failures, and in spite of our sin. God gives us His love and grace unconditionally. We are loveable, we are forgivable, we are blessed even though we are who we are - imperfect faulty humans. God does not give people disease, illness, cancer, plagues, or infirmities. Cancer is not a demon spirit put on you for some lack of faith or sin you have committed. Jesus heals people of their infirmities today just like He did when He walked this earth. God cures people of cancer every day. So, why doesn't God heal everyone? The reason God heals one and not another is part of trust and faith. As believers we trust God has everything planned out for a purpose - His purpose - a purpose that we might not be able to see today, or even tomorrow, but a purpose that will be revealed in God's perfect time. As believers our faith covers the "why?" because we have faith in God in all things, through all things, knowing that He loves us and God is for us (Romans 8:31), and that no matter what state (Philippians 4:11), season, in illness, out of illness, we are in that we can count it all joy (James 1) because we have hope in the future, we have an eternal home with God.
Yes, pain hurts, illness and disease are painful, life sometimes is horrible, suffering is terrible, but this life is temporal - it is like a vapor, this life is not permanent, the pain is not permanent, illness and disease is not permanent - this life is a millisecond compared to our real life in eternity that we will spend with our Lord God (2 Corinthians 4:14-18; James 4:14).
Illness and disease are the result of fallen man, the result of sin.
The first recorded miracle of Jesus in the Holy Bible was Him casting out demons from a man (Mark 1:23-25). The casting out of demons have been recorded for thousands of years. So, who can cast out a demon? The power required to control the actions of any demon or evil spirit is the power of God. God alone holds all power over all things and only God can cast out a demon. God may use selected people to work through, but the healing power is all God. The power of God is accessed through salvation. The power of God is required to cast out a demon. God gifts people with spiritual gifts. To acquire the gifts of God one must first follow the will of God, come to God and prayerfully seek God and ask for His gifts. God alone gives His gifts to mankind.
Can anyone cast out a demon? Do not be deceived. If you do not have instruction from God, do not mess around with what you know nothing about. No, not just anyone can cast out a demon. Before you cast out a demon you must have a current saving relationship with Jesus Christ because without it you have no power to do anything, you must have received instruction by God, you must follow the will of God, you must understand what a demon is and what it is not, you must understand the consequences of what could happen, you must know the right way to do it (i.e. instructions from God). How did Jesus rebuke demons? One thing He never did was have banter with a demon. You cannot win any argument with a demon because their leader is the father of lies and deception - John 8:44. Jesus quoted Scripture, "It is written" and commanded evil spirits to come out of a person - "hold thy peace, and come out of him". Basically, Jesus told the demons to be silent and leave. This was done by the power of God. A demon is a dark spirit, a wicked spirit, an evil spirit, an unclean spirit, a worker of iniquity. To confront any demon you must be sure of who you are in Christ Jesus, nothing wavering, you must be sure in your faith, you must be sure of the Holy Ghost living and abiding in you. People who play around with evil spirits are inviting them into their own lives. Engaging an evil spirit opens you up to attack. Unless you know what you are doing an evil spirit can and will attach itself to you. All believers rebuke the devil in our own personal lives - James 4:7. The devil is seeking a way back into our lives and will do so until we leave this earth for good - 1 Peter 5:8. Every day we are tempted to sin and every day we tell the devil to depart from us - James 4:7. This is different than casting out demons. Casting out demons is very serious business and should never be taken lightly.
Counterfeit Demonic HealingJust as in Biblical days, there are counterfeit demonic healings performed today by false prophets, workers of iniquity.
The devil and his fallen angels followers have been transforming themselves to replicate angels of light since their fall - 2 Corinthians 11:14. Scriptures tell us that these false healers are easy to spot by knowing the Word of God. Everything that we need to live this life is found in the living Word of God. All the power we need to overcome everything that the devil throws at us is found in the Word of God. The Word of God is the believer's manual to navigate this life and our instruction book to lead us to victory. The workers of iniquity were once just like we were, lost and seeking, but instead of answering the call of Jesus and being delivered from sin by receiving the gift of salvation; they answered the call of satan and are now bound to satan and they are in bondage to sin. Healing someone does not confirm your allegiance with God. God said that many will stand before Him on their day at the throne of judgment and profess things that they had done and God will tell them to depart from Him.
We see that the devil not only lied to the people that follow these counterfeits but that they believed their own lies.
The devil knows his destiny, do you? Everlasting fire is waiting for the devil and his followers.
Everlasting Fire.
This will be the end of the devil forever.
Who will be cast into hell? The word of God reads:
The devil and his followers will be:
Yes, the devil knows his future end. All the angels of God know who God and all the angels know their future end. The devil and his followers were once angels of God. They fell from the grace of God, they are fallen angels because they did not want to obey God. The devil knows his end, his future, and he knows that Jesus Christ will destroy him in the end. In Mark 1 when Jesus was healing a man with an unclean spirit, the demons cried out to Jesus.
The demons knew who Jesus was and asked Jesus if he had come to destroy them now. It was not their time to be destroyed, Jesus said "Hold thy peace, and come out of him" (Mark 1:25). Even though the devil knows his end and that his time is short, he will not stop trying to win control. The devil birthed deception and has been consumed with it himself (John 8:44). The devil believes his own lie and will stop at nothing to take as many of the sons of man with him to his eternal death. The devil knows his destiny, do you?
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:10
The devil knows God and God's Word. The devil knows Revelation 20:10, in which God promises that the devil will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where he will be tormented day and night fore ever and ever. The devil knew his fate when he decided to rebel against God - Romans 1:32.
God alone is all powerful and God alone will destroy the devil. The devil knows his destiny, do you?
The antichrist is an extension of the devil, but is not the devil. The antichrist will be controlled and manipulated by the devil.
The Scriptures separate the devil from the beast and from the false prophet.
The devil made a choice NOT to accept the salvation of God, that is why the devil isn't saved, cannot be saved, and will not be saved. The devil chose to place himself above God and place himself equal with God. The devil chose not to believe in God as His Saviour. The devil rejects God as his Saviour. The devil rejects the will of God, as he has chosen to live without God. The devil denies that only God saves. The devil denies that only God can be God. The devil chose to rebel against God and chose to be his own god. The devil chose to follow his own way and chose to become his own self-serving, self-appointed god. To receive the salvation of God one must believe that God is all who He says that He is in His Word - the Almighty God who holds supreme ultimate, omnipotent authority - and believe that God is the only true God capable to offer salvation from sin and death, and believe in God for the salvation of one's soul, and accept Jesus Christ as one's own personal Lord and Saviour, Master over one's life. The devil rejected God and rejected Christ Jesus. The devil refused to accept Jesus as His personal Lord and Savior, and refused to have anyone but himself become the master over his life - this is why the devil is not and cannot be saved - not because God doesn't want him, but because the devil does not want God. This same reason is why all people are not saved, and will not be saved - because they choice to follow their own ways, to be their own god in their own lives. All people are not saved because many people - like the devil - choose to reject God, reject the Word of God as truth, reject Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour, reject the salvation of God, and reject the idea of anyone but themselves being the master of their lives. There is hope for the unsaved - the lost - those without God in this world - hope until they die. Until a person physically dies in their human flesh and bones bodies, there is always hope - hope that they will repent of their sin, see their need for God, come to God and receive His free gift of salvation from sin and death - salvation by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus. As long as a person is breathing there is hope for their salvation. But after they are passed away, the Scriptures says there is no hope for them. For the moment we die, the moment we take our last breath, the next breath will be taken in the presence of the LORD GOD. At death, when our spirit leaves our earthly body - our spirit is present with the Lord - 2 Corinthians 5:8. There is no holding place, no hope for salvation from the grave. We will see Jesus - face to face - after we die and He will hold in His hand our just reward. The reward of faith in Him to salvation is the crown of life - James 1:12 - granting us entrance and inheritance into the Kingdom of God, where we will be with the Lord forevermore.
The devil knows who Jesus is, who Paul is, and who are Christ's. Believers, all who are Christ's belong to God - 1 Corinthians 3:23. Paul is known by the devil and all of his minions, his followers, the evil spirits, because Paul is a threat to the devil, a threat to the devil's mission, and to the devil's lies spread in this world. Paul was and is still a threat to the devil's work, are you? Are you a threat to the devil's work? Does the devil know you? At first, we might view this as a bad thing - that is to be known by the devil - but if we are a child of God, we should all be known by the devil, because we are a great threat to his evil work. Believers of Christ Jesus are the enemies of the devil, the devil knows us and so does all the devil's evil spirits and followers. The more faithful service you are doing for the Kingdom of God, the more you will feel pressure and hear temptation from the devil and his servants. If you never hear anything from the devil, if you do not feel his pressure on you, you should reevaluate yourself, because if the devil is not bothering you - then he doesn't see you as any threat to his mission on this earth. Believers involved in service to God come in constant contact with the enemy, in many different ways. Personally, I find myself telling the devil to get away from me often. I know that the devil has no power over me, but he pesters me all the time, infiltrating my day, tempting me with all kinds of things to distract me from my service to the Lord. And I claim James 4:7 all the time and tell the devil to get away from me, and he has no choice but to do as I command him to do - greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world 1 John 4:4 - because Jesus is more powerful than the devil is, and God promises that if I resist the devil - that the devil must flee from me. The devil is powerless against the Word of God. The children of God are enabled with the power of God through faith in Christ Jesus, a power greater than any other power anywhere.
