The dictionary defines doctrine as teaching or instruction; something that is taught; a principle or position. There are "doctrines of men", "false doctrine", "other doctrine", which are NOT the doctrine of God. Teaching or instruction from men and/or women (apart from God) is called the "doctrines of men". "Strange doctrines", "doctrines of men", "doctrine of vanities", "commandments of men", "doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees", "doctrine of Balaam", "doctrine of Nicolaitanes", "other doctrines" are NOT of God, but "doctrines of devils". Teaching from God is called "the doctrine of the Lord", "the doctrine of God" and "the doctrine of Christ", which are one in the same. "Good doctrine", "pure doctrine", "true doctrine", "sound doctrine", "the apostles' doctrine", aligns and adheres to the doctrine of Christ, and there is no variance. Not all "doctrine" is of God. Not all teaching is from God. Only the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God is the doctrine of God, the doctrine of Christ, the gospel of God, the gospel of Christ. Only God's Scripture is given by God, and is profitable for doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16). The doctrine of Christ is the teachings of Christ, found in the Word of God.
The believer's doctrine is the same as the doctrine of Christ, because without abiding in the doctrine of Christ we cannot have the salvation of God.
Jesus said that His doctrine, the doctrine of Christ, is the doctrine of God. The doctrine of Christ is the doctrine of God the Father, they are one doctrine, because they are One God.
Jesus said, "My doctrine (the doctrine of Christ) is not mine, but His (God the Father) that sent me (Jesus)". Who sent Jesus? God the Father.
No one can know God the Father without knowing God the Son, because they are One (John 10:30). The doctrine of Christ is the commandments of God. Jesus taught His doctrine with the authority of God (Mark 1:22).
Through the Gospel of Christ life and immortality has been brought to light (2 Timothy 1:7-12).
"The revelation of the mystery" of eternal life was made clear by our Saviour Christ Jesus (Romans 16:25), through His gospel, and for all the world to see. All the mysteries pertaining to eternal life are revealed to all believers, the saved in Christ, through His gospel (Colossians 1:26-27, 2:2; Ephesians 3; 1 Timothy 3:16).
We must abide in the doctrine of Christ to receive eternal salvation. There is no salvation apart from abiding in Christ.
If you do NOT abide in and believe in the doctrine of Christ, then you have no part with God, and you cannot receive His salvation except by grace through faith in Christ Jesus for your salvation (Galatians 3:26). If you abide and believe in the doctrine of Christ, then you have both the Father and the Son, because God the Father and God the Son are One God, you cannot believe in one without believing in the other. Eternal life is given to all who believe the doctrine of Christ Jesus to salvation.
Only those who give their life to Christ will save their life
Power to believe to salvation
The gospel of Christ is the power of God to receive salvation to everyone that believes.
Power to overcome sin
Power to live holy and follow God
Abide in the doctrine of ChristBelievers are to abide in the doctrine of Christ (2 John 1:9).
Repent and believe the gospelAll people are to repent and believe the gospel.
The Scriptures instruct us to abide in the doctrine of Christ.
We can only abide in the doctrine of Christ through obtaining the salvation of God, following Christ, knowing the doctrine, continuing and remaining in the faith, and living for Christ by faith.
Obtain the salvation of GodTo abide in the doctrine of Christ, we must obtain the salvation of God. The will of God is for all people to obtain salvation by Jesus Christ -1 Thessalonians 5:9; John 3:16.
Follow ChristTo abide in the doctrine of Christ, we must serve and follow Christ. Obedience to the doctrine of Christ is required, in order to abide.
Know the doctrine of ChristTo abide in the doctrine of Christ, we must know what it is, we learn and understand the doctrine of Christ through reading, mediating, and living the Scriptures.
Continue and remain in the faithTo abide in the doctrine of Christ, we must continue in the faith and remain steadfast in the faith. We cannot abide in the doctrine of Christ, if we are not living in faith, because the Scriptures tell us that "the just shall live by faith".
The true doctrine of Christ, does not speak of himself, does not seek his own glory, but the glory of him that sent him, which is God the Father. Scripture can be used to prove that a doctrine is from God. If the doctrine magnifies itself, its own glory, it is not of God. If the doctrine magnifies God, if the doctrine does not glorify itself, but only glorifies the Almighty God, it is a true doctrine. There is not just one church in this world who teaches the truth of God, but there are many true teachings of God. There are many denominational doctrines and religions in the world who are teaching the true doctrine of God. No single sect or group of people can say that only their teachings are the only true teachings of God, because it is just not true. There is only one true Christ Jesus, and there is only one true doctrine of Christ, but there are many people and many denominations today that teach the true doctrine of Christ God. Just as there are many true churches teaching the true doctrine of God, there are many false doctrines in the world today, that claim to be teaching the doctrine of Christ, but who teach their own doctrine, the doctrines of men, false doctrines, and are therefore NOT of God.
God promises to His children, that we will know which doctrines are false, by the indwelling of His Spirit inside of them, by remaining in the faith. The Spirit of God Himself tells believers which spirits are true and which spirits are false. In order to discern true doctrine from false doctrine, you must be saved, you must remain in the faith and you must follow God's will.
Knowledge and understanding are given by God to all His children who remain in the faith and continue doing His will.
How to know if a doctrine is NOT of God, but a FALSE doctrine? There are many scriptures in the word of God that tell us how we can know if a doctrine is the true doctrine of God, or if it is a false doctrine from satan.
We know that a doctrine is NOT of God, because:
False doctrines glorify themselvesThe word of God reads that false doctrines are self promoting, they preach of themselves. Some false doctrines do preach of God and of Christ, in addition to their doctrine, but place final authority in their own doctrine. False doctrines glorify themselves and put themselves above God, by teaching their own man made false theories over what God says in His Holy Word. Those who promote their own teachings over what is in the word of God are false doctrines. The doctrine of Christ is the final authority, not the doctrines of men.
The true doctrine of God is preached above all else, above any sect or groups teachings.
It is not about us, who we are, ourselves, it is all about JESUS.
False doctrines do NOT teach the gospel of ChristThe word of God reads that some people pervert the gospel of Christ, these people are accursed.
False doctrines do NOT come from the revelation of Jesus ChristFalse doctrines always come from some man, and not from the revelation of Jesus Christ. All false doctrines, false religions, cults, false prophecies all come from some man, not from God Almighty. The word of God was not written by any man, it was written by God. True doctrine of God does not come from man and is not after man.
False doctrines bring confusionSo many false doctrines use confusion to bring in new converts, and we know that God is NOT the author of confusion.
Confusion is deceit and all deceit and lies come from satan, the devil (John 8:44).
Because the devil is the father of lies, deceit and confusion, this is why it is so important when believers teach the gospel of Christ that we teach in the love of God, clearly and truthfully, gently, patiently and lovingly.
False doctrines contradict the word of God.The Word of God, the doctrine of Christ Jesus is the final, supreme, inerrant word of God. There is only one truth, the truth of God; and, the truth of God is in His Word, not in the doctrines of men. For more information see - Other Doctrines
What are we to do about false doctrines?First, we must know which doctrines are false by knowing the true doctrine of Christ, then we mark them and avoid them.
We must never misuse the salvation we have through Christ, by ignoring the fruits of the spirit within us. We must mark and avoid false doctrine, any doctrine contrary to the doctrine of Christ with the love of God that dwells within us. The power of Christ should not be used as a rite to mistreat anyone, even those who believe in false doctrines. The saved in Christ are blessed, but not greater than our neighbor who is without Christ. The scriptures tell us that we do not need to receive them into our houses, and not to bid them God speed, but to love them and pray for them, and live in faith. We must live in faith and defend the faith, but not to the point where we hurt anyone. The lost must see the light of Christ within us, see our faith, see our joy, see our hope and want what we have in Christ.
We are to love our enemies, love them that persecute you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that use you (Matthew 5:44). Yes, those who promote false doctrines are our enemies, because they are God's enemies, for anyone that rejects God is His enemy.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is "The Gospel", "the gospel of the Kingdom of God", "the gospel of the grace of God", "the gospel of God", "the gospel of Christ", "the gospel of the Son of God", "the gospel of the circumcision", "the gospel of your salvation", and "the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ". The gospel of Christ Jesus is the doctrine of Christ Jesus, the Word of God. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ is all throughout the written word of God, in the Old Testament as written by the prophets and throughout the New Testament, and preached by Jesus Himself (Mark 1:1-2, 14). The word of the Lord God is the gospel of Christ Jesus.
The gospel of Christ is the power of God
Everyone does not believe in the doctrine of Christ because they have been blinded by a lie. The lost are blinded by satan through their sin, and cannot see the truth
In order to inherit the promises of God, receive the gift of God, which is eternal life, your doctrine must be the doctrine of Christ, for there can be no variance.
What will happen to all people who do not abide in the doctrine of Christ Jesus?
Do not be deceived, the end of all unbelievers is eternal death, separation from God for all eternity.
??? Not sure where to go from here ??? May we suggest . . .
