What is faith?

The dictionary defines faith as belief not based on proof; belief in a religious system; belief in God or the doctrine of a religion.

The world view of faith and God's view of faith are different.  We see from the dictionary that the world defines faith as any belief in any religious system.  The world view of faith as defined is not necessarily faith in God.

Biblical faith is faith in GodFaith in God is trusting in God, no matter what the circumstances around us.

Faith in God is trusting in God with our lives.  Faith in God is trusting God with all aspects of our life, giving God our whole life, committed to God all the days of our life.

Faith in God is trusting in God to know what is best for us, in every situation and in every season of our lives.

God's definition of faith

Faith talked about in the Scriptures is faith in God.   The world's definition of faith is similar to God's, but not completely.

God says that faith is trust and belief in Him not based on proof of things that are seenFaith in God by God's definition is belief in one God, faith to salvation in God alone - nothing else, no one else.

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22

Faith in One God.  The LORD is God and there is none else, there is no other God - 1 Kings 8:60; Isaiah 45:5-6, 18, 22, 46:9; Joel 2:27.  God's faith is faith in Him alone as the One True Living God, and none elseOne God and one faith is foundational teaching found throughout the Word of God - Malachi 2:10; Mark 12:32; Romans 3:30; Ephesians 4:6.  The Scriptures tell us that there is One God by which we are saved through one faith.  To have faith in God, we must believe that He is the One God who He says that He is in His word, and we must believe in all of His word to have faith in God - Hebrews 11:6.

Faith in God is NOT faith in a religious system, NOT faith in a religious person, and NOT faith in many different doctrines.

There is only one truth of God, and there is only one faith in God, His faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1

God's defines His faith differently than the faith of the world.  God says that faith is substance and evidence - real things hoped for, but not seen.

God's faith does not align with our faith, but our faith must align with God's faith.  We are dependent upon God, but God is not dependent upon us.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for

We learn through the word of God, that faith is the substance of things hoped for - Hebrews 11:1.

Faith is

God defines His faith for us, we don't define His faith for Him.  We do not have to wonder or guess what His faith is, because He graciously, lovingly and patiently describes what His faith is in great detail.

Everything that God is about is defined in His word.  God gave us His Scriptures so that we might know Him and come to Him.  The written word of God is His own revelation of Himself to mankind, so that we might learn about Him and what He desires for us, His creation.

Everything that we need to know about our life is in God's Word.  The written word of God was given to all mankind for instruction for living our lives in the best possible way - 2 Timothy 3:16.  Everything God gives us in His word is for our benefit, so that we can have peace, joy, and an abundant happy life here in this world today and in the world to come.

The substance

Faith is the substance, not "some" substance, not "a" substance, not "one of many" substances, but THE substance.

Substance is real and tangible - the substance - faith is the essential source of things hoped for.

Without faith there can be no hope, because faith is the substance of all things hoped for.

Of things hoped for

Of what things?  Of all things hoped for - love, joy, peace, happiness, salvation, life, anything you hope for in God.

Faith is the substance of ALL things hoped for.

Whatever you hope for, all your desires, your wants, your needs, faith is the substance of them all.

Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Then, the scripture continues stating that faith is the evidence of things not seen - Hebrews 11:1.

So we see that faith is the substance and the evidence of things hoped for but not seen, and here we see that faith is real, tangible, substance and evidence.

How can there be evidence of things not seen?  Simple - it is called faith.  Believing what you cannot necessarily see with your own eyes is faith.  Trusting beyond what can be seen is called faith.  Trusting beyond what we can understand with our finite mind is called faith.

I have personal evidence of God's Holy Spirit dwelling within me, even though I cannot see Him with my physical eyes.  God is real, even though He cannot be seen visually by my eyes, I see God spiritually through the gift of faithThrough faith I receive God's Holy Spirit in my heart and in my soul and in my spirit and in my mind.  The substance and the evidence of faith is manifest in me by the grace of God.  Praise the LORD!!

Faith is the evidence of things not seen with the eye, but things seen with our heart, with our spirit, through our love of God.

Faith is the evidence, God gives us evidence of our faith in many ways, through His love, His righteousness, His forgiveness, His mercy, His strength, His power, and His grace and mercy.

God gives us evidence of faith though His love.  The love of God is not seen, but as His children we all receive His love.  We know God loves us as it is evident in so many ways.

The evidence of faith is manifest in the righteousness of God that we receive from Him when we are saved, that allows us and enables us - empowers us - to walk in His truth and His righteousness.

The evidence of faith is loving God today with all that is within me, heart, mind, body, soul, spirit, strength - my whole being.

The evidence of faith is God's love shown through us to other people.

The evidence of faith is God's forgiveness of our sins, and continual forgiveness of sin.

The evidence of faith is our ability through Jesus to forgive others, over and over as many times as needed.

The evidence of faith is God's strength and power given to us enabling us - empowering us - to do all things through Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:13.

The evidence of faith is the power of the Holy Spirit to live holy and godly lives to our God and Saviour.  The just walk by faith not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7.

The evidence of faith is believing the truth of God, knowing that He is all He says that He is - Hebrews 11:6.

The evidence of faith is believing all of the word of God and living in obedience to God's word all the days of our lives - Luke 8:21.

The evidence of faith is overcoming sin in our lives, living a life worthy of our calling of God.  We can overcome sin because Jesus did and He abides in us and gives us His power and strength to overcome sin - 1 John 4:4.

The results of faith are seen through our love, our compassion, our joy, our forgiveness, our godly living, our happiness in the Lord, that we express to the world around us throughout our lives.

Our faith in God is everlasting, not temporary like this world that we live in now.  We must hold onto our faith, as it is our most precious treasure here on this earth.  We must guard our faith as the precious treasure that it is - 1 Peter 1:7.

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

By God's grace though faith in God we are saved from sin and death - Ephesians 2:8; Romans 8:2.  Only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ do we receive everlasting, abundant life in the Kingdom of God - Galatians 3:26.

By the grace of God, we receive the measure of faith - from God - enabling us to see, accept and receive the salvation of God - Romans 12:3.

Faith is the gift of God received by the grace of God, enabling us to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ to salvation.   We do not create our faith, God gives us faith.  Faith is a gift of Christ Jesus by His Grace which is given to us - Ephesians 4:7.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

What is saving faith?

"Saving faith" is believing that God is God and believing in God to save you.

"Saving faith" is faith in God and is believing that God alone can and will save you from sin and death, and that God will give you eternal life as promised in His Holy Word, the Holy Bible.

"Saving faith" is believing that God is the God, the God who created all things, believing that He is all who God claims to be in His Holy Word, believing all that God says and all that God has promised in His Holy Word.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

"Saving faith" is believing in God for the salvation of your soul.

We have faith in many things.  We have faith that when we sit in a chair it will hold us.  We have faith in our car to perform and get us down the road.  We have faith the sun will rise tomorrow.  We have faith in our phone system, that we make a call that person will answer at the other end.  We have faith in many material and non-living things, all throughout our day we exercise faith in many things.

Saving faith is faith in God to salvation.  When we use our God given faith to believe in God for His salvation, when we receive the gift of salvation from God through faith in Jesus, then our faith becomes "saving faith" - the saving faith of God.

One possesses "saving faith" when they possess the salvation of God.

"The faith" is saving faith that brings salvation

"The faith" refers to the faith of God which brought us to salvation.

Only the faith by God - faith given to us by God - is saving faith.  "The faith" is the faith of God - given to us by God - whereby we receive the salvation of God.

People who are "of the faith" refers to the faith of God, all who come to God and through faith received His salvation.

Many Scriptures in the Bible refer to "the faith", this is the saving faith that brings us to salvation.  "The faith" mentioned in many Scriptures refers to the gift of God, the gift of eternal salvation - given to whosoever who comes to God and honestly believes in God as the God and asks for God to save them.

"The faith" refers to the the salvation of God.  "The faith" we receive to be able to accept the salvation of God is by Jesus and in Jesus and of Jesus.  Salvation begins and is lived out and ends in Christ Jesus.

The faith which is by Jesus - Acts 3:16.  The faith we have to salvation is the faith we received by Jesus, allowing us to receive the salvation of God.

"The faith" refers to the faith in Christ Jesus - Acts 24:24; 1 Timothy 3:13.   By the faith of Jesus we have boldness and access with confidence to God the Father - Ephesians 3:12.

Through the faith of Christ, through our  salvation, we receive the righteousness of God - Philippians 3:9.

No one is saved by any works that they do for God, as we are all saved the exact same way by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus - Galatians 3:26.  We receive the salvation of God by the faith of Jesus Christ, by believing in Jesus Christ for our salvation, we are justified by the faith of Christ alone - Galatians 2:16.

Eternal life is Jesus and eternal life is in Jesus - 1 John 5:11.  Believers are crucified with Christ at salvation, we receive new life - life in Christ - Christ living in us - our life is lived for God and to God through Christ Jesus by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me - Galatians 2:20; Romans 8:2.

We are to be like the disciples in the Bible - obedient to the faith - Acts 6:7; Romans 1:5.

Being "in the faith" references having received the salvation of God.  We are to continue in the faith, continue in the faith that brought us to salvation - Acts 14:22; Colossians 1:23.

Believers of Christ Jesus are to be established in the faith and increase in number daily - Acts 16:5; Colossians 2:7.

Believers are to stand fast in the faith, be strong  in the faith - 1 Corinthians 16:13.   Believers are to stand firm in the faith, so we can be blameless, spotless, when we stand before our King and declare, like the Apostle Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" - 2 Timothy 4:7.

The devil is the enemy of God and therefore the enemy of all who have received the salvation of God - all who are in the faith.  The devil is like a roaring lion prowling the earth seeking out believers of Christ who he can devour and who he can persuade to turn away from God, turn you away from "the faith", turn and destroy - 1 Peter 5:8.  The main goal of the devil is to turn you away from God, to get you out of the faith, to remove you from the faith, to separate you from God for all eternity.  Throughout Scripture there is reference to those who attempt to remove people from "the faith", turn believers away from "the faith" - Acts 13:8.  Only believers in the faith can be turned from the faith.  God tells us in His written word that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith - 1 Timothy 4:1.

Believers know that they have received the salvation of God through the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit assures our spirit that we are a child of God.  This assurance is to be proven to ourselves, as believers we are to examine ourselves and know whether we are in the faith - 2 Corinthians 13:5.  I know that I am a child of God because I examine myself, I prove myself through a current living relationship, fellowship with Jesus, by knowing the Word of God and by claiming the promises of God, by remaining steadfast in the faith, by loving God today and everyday.

Through salvation we are empowered by Christ to continue in the faith and to resist the devil and be stedfast in the faith - Colossians 1:23; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:9; 2 Timothy 3:14-16.

The unity of the faith of all believers of Christ Jesus is the desire of God's heart - Ephesians 4:13.  Unfortunately, the unity of the faith will not be seen on this earth because of so many reasons - mainly being the pride of mankind.   One day there will be unity of the faith, when we are all called up to Heaven, to the Kingdom of God, where we will be forever with our Lord.

The body of Christ - all believers - are to stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel - Philippians 1:27.

The faith, saving faith, faith to salvation, faith in God is denied by people all around this world, people have denied the faith - 1 Timothy 5:8.   People all around the world have erred from the faith, and not having the faith themselves will overthrow the faith of others - 1 Timothy 6:10, 21; 2 Timothy 2:18.  These are those who resist the truth of God, men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith - 1 Timothy 3:8.

The faith from God is a gift from God.

God gives every person the measure of faith, by which we can believe His truth and obtain His salvation - Romans 12:3.

The faithful of God receive His faith, live by faith, and continue in the faith - Acts 14:22.

If you reject the truth of God that is in the measure of faith given to you by God then you are living in unbelief.

As long as you refuse the truth of God, reject God and His word as supreme authority and truth, you cannot have "the faith", you do not have "saving faith".

All people that come to God to receive His salvation, must believe that He is God and must believe that He alone can save them - Hebrews 11:6.

There is only one faith, one faith that leads to the salvation of God and that is the faith of God.

We have faith in many things, but the faith through which we are saved is called "saving faith".

Saving faith is trusting and believing in God alone to save your soul from sin and death - 1 Peter 1:9.

Saving faith is believing ALL that God says He is - Hebrews 11:6.  Partial belief in God, partially believing who God says He is, is unbelief.

Saving faith is believing that God can and will save you from sin and death.  The salvation of God sets us free from the law of sin and death - Romans 8:2.

Saving faith is believing in the power of God to save our souls.  By faith we receive the salvation of God.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:26

Saving faith is believing through faith in the salvation of God, in which God alone can save our soul from sin and death, and can keep us from sin while in this world, and give us eternal life in His Kingdom.

Saving faith is faith in God for our salvation.  To receive the salvation of God you must believe that He is the only one able to give you salvation.  To receive the salvation of God you must believe He can and will save you.

Saving faith is faith that God alone can save your soul.  God saves, none else.  Without faith in God alone to save you, you cannot be saved.

Saving faith is believing ALL that God says in His word.  Partial belief of the word of God is unbelief.  We must believe ALL the word of God.  Doubting one part of the Word of God is doubting all parts, and is unbelief.  Believing just some of God's word is unbelief.  Partial belief is unbelief.

Saving faith is the acknowledging of the truth of God by the faith of God's elect -Titus 1:1-2.

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:1-2

Saving faith is believing in eternal life in the Kingdom of God after earthly death.  The gift of God is eternal life with Him in His Kingdom, if you do not believe in eternal life in the Kingdom of God in Heaven, you do not have faith in God, because saving faith is trusting in all that God promises to us in His Word.

Saving faith is believing ALL the promises of God will happen - 2 Corinthians 1:20.  Every Word of God will be fulfilled one day, saving faith is trusting in all the promises of God, not just some of them - Matthew 5:18.

Saving faith is faith in God to the salvation of our souls, that God alone is able to save you from sin and death.  Trusting God to save you from sin here on this earth and from eternal death is saving faith.  Faith in God to overcome all sin in your life is saving faith in God.

Saving faith is believing that God alone can save our soul - Hebrews 10:39.  Faith in other things to save you is NOT saving faith, because saving faith in God is trusting in God alone for your salvation, and in nothing more.  The grace of God PLUS NOTHING saves our souls.  Without saving faith in God ALONE, no one is saved.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

Saving faith is faith in God to salvation, believing that God saves, believing that He can and will save you.

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.   John 3:15-18

Faith in God to salvation is saving faith.

What is the difference of "faith" and "saving faith"?

Belief 'of' God is NOT faith 'in' God

A person can believe that there is One God, but not believe in One God to the saving of their souls.

Belief that there is one God is NOT saving faith.  Belief of God is not faith in God.

One can believe there is a God, and still not believe in that God to save them.

Saving faith is believing in God to salvation.  Saving faith is believing in the one true living God for your salvation, and in nothing else and in no one else.

Even the devil believes that there is one God, but the devil does NOT believe in One God for his salvation - James 2:19.  The devil does not believe that only God can save him.  The devil believes that he can save himself, that he does not need God for the salvation of his soul. Because the devil believes that he is sufficient all by himself and does not need God to save his soul from anything.  The devil chose to reject the truth of God and is eternally lost, and the devil will in the end receive eternal death, separation away from God for all eternity.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19

We can see through the Scriptures that believing that there is one God is not enough, is not saving faith in God, because even the devils believe that there is one God, and they are not saved.

The devil knows that there is one God, but the devil refuses to believe in God to the saving of his soul.  The devil refuses to make God his God, the God of his life. The devil rejects Almighty God as supreme God.  All who reject the salvation truth of God will receive eternal damnation, separation from God into eternal darkness, eternal separation from all things and from all people, eternal death.

Even the devil knows that there is one God, but the devil refuses to trust in God for the saving of his soul.  The devil believes in the devil, the devil believes in himself as his god.  The devil has faith in himself for his salvation.  Just like many people today, the devil believes only in himself for his own salvation, he chose to reject God and chose to believe that he does not need God to save him.  The devil rejects God and does not need Him for anything.

Like the devil, many people today believe that there is a God, but they reject his teachings, and they refuse to trust in God for the saving of their souls.  These people will receive the same final destiny as the devil, if they remain attached to their unbelief, which is eternal death, eternal separation from God and all things for all eternity.

Saving faith is trusting in One God to save your soul from sin and death.  Saving faith is believing the truth of God, that only by the grace of God are we saved - Ephesians 2:8.  We are saved by grace, nothing more.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God:  Ephesians 2:8

Saving faith is believing that God is sufficient to save us all by Himself.  Saving faith is believing ALL that God says in His Word.

Saving faith is believing that God alone saves us.  Saving faith is believing that through the salvation of God we receive eternal life after we die, and are accepted by God into His Kingdom and given the inheritance of His children to all things.

Saving faith is believing that Christ Jesus is the Lord and the Saviour, the source and the author of our salvation, and the Creator of all things.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 5:9

What is NOT faith in GOD?

Many people today claim to have faith in God, but do not know what faith in God is all about.  If you asked these people to define their faith in God, you would get many different answers.

Unbelief is NOT faith in God

Biblically speaking one without faith in God to salvation is in a state of unbelief.

There are two types of people spiritually speaking:  1) Those who believe in God to the salvation of their souls, and 2) those who do not believe in God to the salvation of their souls.   Simply, those with God and those without God.

One either believes in God and has faith in God to salvation, or they believe they do not need salvation and do not need God.

Those who deny the truth of God, who deny God, who do not believe that God is all He claims to be in His Holy Word, who deny that God alone can and will save them from sin and death are the unbelieving.

If one does not have faith in God to salvation they are in unbelief - they are unbelieving.  The opposite of faith in God is not having faith in God, called faithlessness, which is unbelief

The opposite of having faith in God is having NO faith in God, which is unbelief.

Unbelief is the opposite of faith.  Faithlessness is the opposite of faith.

We either have faith in God or we do not have faith in God to salvation.  Partial faith is still unbelief.

All faith is NOT faith in God

Many people have "faith", but not all people have "faith in God" to salvation.

Faith in God to salvation, faith that God is all who He says that He is in His word is required for the salvation of God - Hebrews 11:6.

All people are saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God we are saved, there is no other way to be saved - Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:26.

All people who come to God and receive His salvation, have faith that He is able to save them - Hebrews 11:6; John 3:15-18.

We are saved by grace through faith, nothing else.  Nothing we do can save us, because God alone saves.

Faith in God is faith in God alone

Faith in God alone for salvation is probably the most misunderstood and mispreached point regarding faith.

Faith in God to salvation is believing in what God has already done.

Faith is believing that God alone saves you.  Faith is believing that you do not add anything to the salvation of God.   Faith is believing that God saves you all by Himself, without any works or help or anything from you.

Faith is NOT a response to get God to do something for you, but faith is believing in what God already has done for you.  God already paid the full price for your salvation - nothing is due from you, nothing is owed - the debt, your debt was paid in full.  You can add nothing to salvation because Jesus paid it all.  Faith is NOT helping God to do something for you, because God has already done all the works required for your salvation.

There is nothing required from you - NO WORKS REQUIRED - in order for you to receive the salvation of God.   All the works required for your salvation were completed on the cross by Christ Jesus - you are not able or permitted or have any authority to add to or take away from the works that Jesus has already completed for your salvation.   Your salvation was paid in full - once for all - by Christ Jesus on the cross - Hebrews 10:10.

Faith in God's grace and your works will not and cannot save you.  Faith in God plus anything else cannot save anyone, because God is sufficient, God is able to save us all by Himself.

No works are required by us in order for God to gift us His salvation - Ephesians 2:9; Titus 3:5.

Many people today believe in their works for their salvation, which cannot save, because God says we are not saved by our works - Titus 3:5.  Faith in your works for salvation in fact voids salvation - Romans 4:14.  No one is saved by their works, as works can save no one - Galatians 2:16; 3:11.

Faith in your works is NOT faith in God

Faith in works is NOT faith in God, because God said we are saved by His grace alone, by grace ye are saved, not of yourselves - Ephesians 2:8.

God states that no one is saved by their works - our works do not and cannot save us - not of works, lest any man should boast - Ephesians 2:9.  If we could work for grace, work for our own salvation, then it would not be grace, in essence your works void grace - Romans 11:6.  The grace of God is not grace if it be of works.

God says that we cannot be saved by our works, and that salvation by your works void faith to salvation - Romans 4:14.

There is much debate about works and salvation, but the Scriptures are clear if you read them.

Works, our works cannot be added to God's salvation, because all the work required by God for His salvation has been completed.  Jesus completed all the work required for the salvation of all mankind on His cross.  Jesus Himself said from His cross "it is finished" - ALL the works required by God for the salvation of mankind was forever finished by Jesus upon His cross.  We cannot add to the works for our salvation because by Jesus all the work for our salvation has all been accomplished - John 19:28.

No works - NOTHINGS ELSE - is required by God for your salvation.  Jesus paid it all, all the requirements, all the sacrifice, all the ransom, all the debt of our salvation was completely, totally paid in full by Jesus Christ once for all upon His cross - Hebrews 10:10.  No works are left owed for salvation as "it is finished" - John 19:30; Matthew 20:28; 1 Timothy 2:6; Hebrews 10:10, 12, 14.

Maintain good works

Yes, we are to maintain good works, as a faithful servant of God, we are to do good works for God, but our duty, our service, our works for God come AFTER we receive the salvation of God, not before salvation

Only after salvation do we have any works acceptable to God to be received by God.  None of our works are accepted by God until after salvation, until after we have put on Christ, after salvation, after we have the righteousness of God in us, then and only then do we have any works to give to God - Titus 3:8, 14.  Before we are washed by salvation our works are as filthy rags.  We have no works acceptable to God until after we are saved.  Only after salvation can we produce good fruit, good works acceptable to God.

God's grace plus nothing equals salvation.  We are freely saved by God's grace alone - Romans 3:24.

If you are believing in your works plus faith to save you, then you are in unbelief, you are not believing the truth of God found in His Word.  Faith in God to salvation, saving faith to receive the gift of eternal life, is believing in God to save you all by Himself, without your works, without anything you do, or think you can do for God.

Faith plus your works to bring salvation equals unbelief - Romans 4:14.  We are to maintain good works as believers of Christ Jesus (after salvation).  No one should place faith in their works to bring them the salvation of God, because God alone saves, not your works and God.

Your works were not good enough to receive salvation, your works were lacking, your works are unacceptable for salvation.  Only the sacrifice, the blood of Jesus, only the life sacrifice of Jesus were worthy works, sinless works, pure and true works, worthy to purchase salvation for mankind.  What Jesus did on His cross paid the price in full once for all, one time for all mankind, His sacrifice was worthy to make salvation free to all of mankind who come to God in faith and receive His salvation.

If you believe that your works in any way, grants your salvation in any way, you are not saved, because God says that to receive His salvation that you must come to Him, believe in Him alone to save you from sin and death, have faith in God alone for your salvation.  Trusting in your own abilities, trusting in your works to save you is unbelief, trusting in your works is not trusting, not having faith in God alone to save you from sin and death.

Believing that God needs anything from you to save you is not faith in God to salvation.  God holds all power.  God can do anything.  God saves mankind all by Himself.   Faith in anything other than God alone to save you, voids your salvation.

We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God, faith that God alone is able to save our souls.  The salvation of God is gifted to us all by the grace of God alone, without any need or requirement of any works we might do.  No works we could ever perform could grant our salvation, or help us get saved.

Without faith in God we are not saved.  Without faith in God that He is able to save us all by Himself we cannot please God, we are not saved.  Everyone who receives the salvation of God must believe that He is all that He says that He is in His word - Hebrews 11:6.

Little faith versus partial faith

Having a little faith is different than having partial faith, because partial faith is unbelief, while a little faith, a small amount of faith, is still faith.

A speck of faith in God to salvation is still faith.  It's not the quantity, it's the quality.  Our faith enlarges as we grow in Christ Jesus.

God says that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.  Our faith grows stronger each day we use it.  Our faith matures as we become mature believers in Christ.  By growing in our faith we become strong in Christ.

God tells us through His Scripture that the just live by faith, faith to faith, from a small amount of faith to more faith every day.

For herein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  Romans 1:17

We all begin the same way, with a gift of faith from God, we all receive the measure of faith from God - and this measure of faith is sufficient to receive the salvation of God.  As we grow in God so does our faith in God.  Our faith increases as we live and grow in our spirit with God.   Our faith increases as we continue in fellowship with Jesus every day.  Our faith increases as we read and mediate on the Word of God.  Our faith increases with every prayer, with every Scripture we read, with every witness of God's love, every time we share God's love with others, with the love we give to God everyday.

Faith in faith is not faith

Faith in your faith is not faith in God to salvation.

Faith in faith saves no one.  Faith in God to salvation saves.

Believing in anything other than God to save you is not faith in God to salvation.

Too many people place faith in things, faith in other people, faith in words, faith in deeds performed, faith in the things that they do to save them.  Nothing but faith in God alone saves you.  God alone saves people.

You are out of the equation for your salvation.  God needs nor requires anything from you - no works, no rituals, no service - to receive His salvation.  God alone saves.

You must remove your pride, your works, your service, your anything in order to receive the salvation of God.  You do not save yourself - God alone saves.

No one has ever or will ever save themselves because only God saves people.

Many people are comforted in what others do, what others say, rituals, ceremonies, works, things that they can perform, works they can measure and do - used by them to measure their earnest commitment to God for their salvation.  These are all works, their works, their deeds, and none - no works from you are required from you to receive the salvation of God - Ephesians 2:8-9.

For herein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  Romans 1:17

What can faith do?

Before we see what faith can do, let's look at what faith cannot do...

Faith does NOT save anyone

Faith does not save anyone, because we are saved by the Grace of God alone.

I find it strange that some people actually believe that they need to help God out, do certain tasks, do certain works, in order to receive His salvation.  How foolish it is for one to believe that they must help God do anything.

God saves, not faith.  Our faith does not save us, because by the grace of God we are saved.

Everyone is saved by God the exact same way, which is by His grace through faith we are saved - Ephesians 2:8.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

The source of salvation has and will always be God.

We are saved by grace through faith, and NOT by faith through grace.

We are to have faith in God to save us, not faith in faith to save us.

What is the difference? By faith - through faith - isn't that the same thing?  No, it isn't if our faith saves us or our works, then what of grace, why would we need the grace of God.

Faith allows us access to the Grace of God

We are saved by grace - Ephesians 2:5.  Through faith we are saved by Grace - Ephesians 2:8.

Through faith we have access to the grace of God, by which we are saved.

Through Christ Jesus we have access by faith to the grace of God - Romans 5:2.  For through Him (Jesus) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father - Ephesians 2:18.

Through faith we can receive the gift of God, the salvation of our souls - Ephesians 2:8.

The saved in Christ Jesus exist through faith, and live by faith.  Without Christ we are nothing.  Without faith in Christ Jesus there is no salvation.

By grace through faith - faith allows Christ Jesus to dwell in our hearts - Ephesians 3:17.  We are saved by grace through faith Christ who dwells in our hearts.

Faith allows us access to God - Ephesians 3:12; Hebrews 10:19.

We can resist evil with the shield of faith - Ephesians 6:16.

We receive the righteousness of God through faith in Christ Jesus - Philippians 3:9; Romans 9:30.

Continuing in the faith reconciles us to God and presents us holy, unblameable, unreproveable in God's sight - Colossians 1:21-23.

Faith allows us peace with God - Romans 5:1.

Faith allows us joy and rejoicing in the glory of God - Romans 5:2.

Faith in God brings great joy to God - Philemon 1:5.

Through faith and patience we inherit the promises of God - Hebrews 6:12.

Faith allows us to receive the righteousness of God - Romans 1:17, 3:22; Philippians 3:9.

Through faith we receive the righteousness in Christ, which is the pathway of life - Proverbs 12:28.

God alone saves.  Nothing but God saves.  God is our salvation, not faith.

Salvation belongs to God, grace belongs to God, faith belongs to God, love belongs to God.  God gifts us His grace, God gifts us His faith, God gifts us His love, God gifts us His salvation.  God is the Creator of all things, we create nothing.  We have nothing to give to God except ourselves, our whole being, our life - that He gave to us.  We are nothing without God.  When we humble ourselves and know that God is God and that He holds everything in His hands, that His is life, and when we humble ourselves and realize that we are nothing, have nothing, that we are totally dependent upon God for all things, then we by His grace through His faith in His love can receive His free gift of salvation.

What are we to do with our faith?

Faith that is not cared for dies.  Faith that is not used dies.  Living faith always produces good works.

Dead faith is not living faith and is unbelief.

Guard your faith

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou are also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.  1 Timothy 6:12

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 10:23

Walk by faith

As believers of the Most High God, we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Increase your faith

Our faith is able to increase, grow, and strengthen, because of the power of God.  God wants to give us all things, but to receive them we must know what they are, and how to ask for them.  God wants us to abound in everything, including faith (2 Corinthians 8:7).

Share your faith

True faith cannot be hid, faith cannot be hidden because it holds Christ and the light of Christ shines out from us to others.  We were given God's love to share with others and we were given God's faith to share with others.

Every believer has a purpose to proclaim God's love and share their faith to salvation.  We are to be witnesses of God (Isaiah 43:10; Acts 1:8), we are to be witnesses of Christ Jesus, witnessing to this world what Christ has done for us, how He sacrificed Himself, how He laid down His own life so that we could be set free from sin and death.

What voids faith?

Unbelief voids anyone's faith.

Works void faith

Adding your works to your faith for salvation, voids your faith.  We are saved by the grace of God alone through faith, not by works we do.

Believing that you are saved by your works and your faith, is not believing in God alone for your salvation.  When one places other things in addition to faith for receiving salvation, one voids their faith in God.  We must believe and trust in God alone to receive His salvation.

God wants us to trust in Him alone for the salvation of our souls.  God desires that we come to Him completely for salvation.  God is able all by Himself to save every one.

In order to receive the salvation of God we must believe that He alone gives salvation.  Nothing that we can do can aid in our salvation.  We need God, God does not need us for anything.

We must believe God is able to save us all by Himself, in order to receive His salvation.

No one can receive the salvation of God by their own terms.  No one receives the salvation of God through faith and their works, because God says this is not the way.

There is only one way to receive the salvation of God, and that is God's way, which is by grace through faith, nothing added, nothing else.

When we add our works to God's plan of salvation, we are creating our own salvation, our own righteousness.  We are telling God that His way isn't sufficient; we are telling God that more is needed, more is required than what He tells us, and this is wrong.  We cannot be saved by our own righteousness.  We are not saved by what we think is God's righteousness, but we are saved by God's righteousness alone.

God is enough.  God is sufficient to save us His way and all by Himself, which is by grace through faith, and not by our works (Ephesians 2:8).

We cannot add anything to God's plan of salvation.  All people who add to or subtract from the Word of God takes upon themselves the judgment, condemnation, and wrath of God.

If we add anything to God's plan of salvation, we void our faith in God.  By adding anything to the salvation of God, we do not trust God to save us all by Himself, and therefore we void any faith in God.

For if they which are the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect. Romans 4:14

The Scriptures say if people's works save anyone, then faith is void, and the promise is not in effect.  If your works can save you, then faith is gone and the promise of salvation is removed.

Your works plus faith to equal salvation is NOT biblical, is NOT of God, is NOT faith in God, and cannot bring salvation, because your works plus faith equals unbelief in God through rejection of the truth of God, which equals separation from God for eternity.

No one is saved by their works.  God says that NO flesh is saved by works (Galatians 2:16).

The children of God are all people who place their trust, their faith in God alone for their salvation (Galatians 3:7, 9).

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith (Galatians 3:11).

If you are living by works, believing that your works brings the salvation of God, you are in error, because the Word of God reads that the just, the saved in Christ live by faith, and by nothing else (Galatians 3:11).

We receive the salvation of God by faith of Christ Jesus, nothing else.  When we add things to God's plan of receiving salvation, we void our own faith, and cannot receive God's salvation.

Unbelievers believe that their works are required for the salvation of God.  Unbelief separates you from God for all eternity.

The only way to receive the salvation of God is to come to God His way, which is through faith alone in His Son.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Salvation by faith and works, voids faith, because faith is not works, and has nothing to do with any sort of works.  God says that if you believe salvation by works that you are wrong, turned from His truth, and that you have stumbled (Romans 9:32).

The righteousness of God, the salvation of God, is through faith alone, nothing else.

False teaching voids faith

The belief that Christ Jesus did not rise from His grave from death to new life, voids the faith of those who believe that way.  Too many people will not let anything or anyone get in the way of what they believe, sadly not even the Word of God.  Too many people lean on their own understanding of God, instead of seeking His truth.  Too many people do not let even the Bible get in the way of what they believe.  These people have deceived themselves.  Scriptures warns us all not to lean on our own understanding, but to receive understand through the Holy Spirit who is in charge of teaching us God's Word.

Trust the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5

We are not to participate in false doctrine.  Other's false belief does not void my faith, but voids their faith, because if they believe Christ did not rise from His grave, they are then still in their sins, still unforgiven, unredeemed and unsaved.

1 Corinthians 15:14-17

Other doctrines that teach false teachings, fables, endless genealogies, do not magnify God, and are not of faith. 1 Timothy 1:3-4.  The children of God are to avoid false teachings, and have no part in them.

Profane and vain babblings void faith (1 Timothy 6:20-21).

Jewish fables and commandments of men, any doctrine that turn from the truth of God voids faith (Titus 1:14).

The scriptures warns us about ungodly people, false teachers, false prophets, other doctrines, seducing evil spirits, that can rob us of our faith, overthrow the faith of some of us (2 Timothy 2:18).

Evil conscience voids faith

Faith is received by a pure conscience, by a pure heart.  People who believe in God trust in God receive salvation by calling on God with a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).

We know through the Scripture that the wicked are far away from the Lord, because they have rejected faith in God to salvation.  People with an evil heart, and evil conscience voids faith.  Evil people cannot comprehend the truth of God, because their evil has made them blind to the truth of God.  God calls these people with evil conscience reprobates (2 Timothy 3:8).

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Titus 1:15-16

Those who have faith in God do not have an evil conscience (Hebrews 10:22).

Hate voids faith

God is love.  Without love no one can see God, because God is love.  If you do not have love in your heart, then your faith is void.

Faith and love are a team, you can't have one without the other, because the salvation of God comes prepackaged with the love of God.

We are nothing without love (1 Corinthians 13:2).  Faith works by love, the love of God (Galatians 5:6).

Faith is rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:17).

Faith and charity are a team.  Faith and love are the breastplate in the full armour of God (1 Thessalonians 5:8).

Faith and love are found in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 1:14).

Sin voids faith

All that is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23).  Sin separates anyone from God.

If we continue in sin, our hearts will harden against God, rejecting the truth of God and rejecting His righteousness.

Through sin we forsake the righteousness of God for our own way, our unrighteousness, for our own sin.  Sin and righteousness cannot live together, because God does not tolerate sin.

If unrepentant, sin pushes out faith, sin hardens our heart against God, sin stops our relationship with God, and sin can permanently separate us from God.

If we believe in God, believe in His truth, believe in His righteousness, we cannot believe in sin.  Sin is unbelief in God.  Sin is choosing to believe in unrighteousness, instead of the righteousness of God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  Hebrews 3:13

We must avoid all sin.  We must not let any sin into our lives.  Sin grows fast like mold, it starts out like a little speck, a dot, but can quickly consume and kill anyone.

Everyone must guard their hearts, no one is exempt from the temptation of sin, any one is capable of becoming overcome by sin.

Unbelief voids faith

Unbelief separates anyone from God.  Because of unbelief you are broken off (Romans 11:20) from the promises of God.

Faith and unbelief cannot reside in one body.  We either have faith in God or we don't.   We cannot have an evil heart of unbelief, and also believe in the true living God.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:12

If not repented of, unbelief can lead to eternal separation from God.

God says we are made partakers with Christ, into the inheritance of the Kingdom of God, as children of God, IF we hold the beginning of our faith steadfast to the end (Hebrews 3:14).

No one can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven to spend eternity with God through unbelief (Hebrews 3:19).  We enter Heaven through faith, current faith, faith that is alive and active.  Dead faith is unbelief and will not be partakers with Christ in His Kingdom.

We must have current, live faith in God to enter His Kingdom, there are no exceptions to the word of God.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Hebrews 3:14

Why do I need to have faith in JESUS?

Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18

You don't believe in God, if you don't believe in Jesus

Denying Jesus is denying God the Father.  The word of God reads that if you don't believe in Jesus Christ as God the Son, you do not believe in God the Father.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?  He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:22-23

If you deny Jesus as the Son of God, if you deny Jesus through unbelief, you deny God the Father.  No one who denies Christ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  No one who denies Christ will enter Heaven.  No one who denies Jesus Christ as God the Son, will ever see God, but will be separated from God for eternity.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

For more on this subject see - Faith in God is faith in Jesus on the Faith Facts page.

What is the gift of Faith?

We are gifted, given faith by God.  By the gift of faith we are able to receive the gift of God which is Jesus Christ who is eternal life.  The gift of faith enables to receive the gift of God, the unspeakable gift of God's love, His Son, Christ Jesus.

Christ is the gift of faith.  Heaven is the gift of faith.  The kingdom of God is the gift of faith.  The crown of righteousness, the crown of life is the gift of faith.

When we reach out through faith, when we accept Jesus as our own personal Lord and Saviour, we receive the gift of eternal life, eternal salvation, the gift of faith, which is Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

We receive faith by the grace of God.  We are given all good things by the grace of God.  All good things are given to us by God above.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

What did Jesus marvel at?

The word of God states that Jesus "marveled" at two things:

    1.  People with great faith

    2.  People without faith

It is very interesting that of all the people and great wonders of the world, the only thing that Jesus marveled at was great faith and no faith.

This is very significant, because it shows just how much power there is in faith, if it can make Jesus Christ marvel.

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Matthew 8:10

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. Mark 6:4-6

What is One Faith?

The word of God tells us all that there is only One True Living God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; and that THESE three are one God, and our One God has One faith.

For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: Deuteronomy 10:17

For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95:3

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:13-14

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Romans 3:22

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Romans 3:30

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. I and my Father are one. John 10:25,30

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19

The word of God tells us all that there is one body, one Spirit, one Hope, One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:4-6

What is "the end of our faith"?

The salvation of our souls

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 1 Peter 1:7-10

The end of our faith is the salvation of our souls, the crown of life, eternal life in the loving arms of our Father God, everlasting life in the Kingdom of God, worshiping, singing and praising God forever, casting our crowns at the feet of our most precious Saviour, Jesus Christ, our Lord and King.

Crown of righteousness

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Eternal life

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:1-2

The end of faith is the salvation of our souls.  The end of faith, a life lived by faith in God, is the salvation of our souls.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

The Scriptures tell us, that IF we hold onto our faith until the end (until we die or Christ returns whichever happens first), then we will receive the salvation of our souls.

God says that, if we remain faithful in Him, then we will receive the crown of life (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10).

There are no rewards in Heaven for temporary faith.  Temporary faith does NOT equal eternal salvation, because only enduring faith equals eternal salvation.  Limited faith is unbelief.

What is the end of unbelief?

The absence of faith in God is unbelief.  No faith is unbelief.  Unbelief separates anyone from God in eternity.  The end of unbelief is death, damnation, separation from God for all eternity.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

Anyone with a heart of unbelief will not enter into the Kingdom of God.  Anyone with a heart of unbelief, separates themselves away from God for all eternity.

Anyone can believe in God.  We are all created with the ability to believe in God to the saving of our souls.  Believing in God for salvation is our choice.  Each person has the same exact choice, whether or not to believe in God.

Each person is called by God to come to Him for His salvation.  Every person is given an invitation by God to spend eternity with Him.

We either accept His invitation or we reject it, because salvation is our choice.

Damnation is the end of unbelief, total separation from God for all eternity (1 Timothy 5:12).

Where does faith come from?

Faith comes from God alone

Faith belongs to God.  Everything belongs to God.  We did not create faith, faith is given to us from God above.  We do not own our faith, we own nothing, we brought nothing into this world and we take nothing out (1 Timothy 6:7).

God is the source of all faith, because we are all given the measure of faith by God (Romans 12:3).

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from God above.

Faith is a good and perfect gift from God above.  Through faith we are saved, salvation is eternal life and the gift of God.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

God created ALL things.  Jesus is the author of our faith.  We receive the gift of faith and the grace of God by Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:4).

Through faith we are all saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 15:11).

All good things come from Christ Jesus, all things were created by Him, of Him and through Him (Romans 11:36).

Jesus is the author of our faith and He will be the finisher of our faith.  When we die, and our spirit is present with our Lord and King Jesus Christ, He alone will complete our faith because He is the finisher of our faith.  We will receive our crown of salvation from our Saviour, our Prince of Peace, our Mighty God, by His grace through faith.

Our faith begins by the grace of Jesus Christ through faith in Jesus Christ; and it finishes the same way, by His grace through faith.  Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith.  Jesus gives us our faith and He finishes our faith by the gift of salvation, our crown of life.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8

We will not receive a crown of thorns, as Jesus did, although that's what we deserve and much more, but we will receive the crown of salvation, when our faith is finished by Christ Jesus in the Kingdom of God.

God is the author of faith.  Faith in God comes from God.

We have nothing that is good that is not given to us from God above.  All we have is from God above.

Everything good we have comes from God.  Everything good we have is by the grace of God.  The grace of God is given to us through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:4).  We receive salvation through the grace of Christ Jesus our Lord.

Faith comes from the grace of God

By the grace of God, we are given faith.   We are given faith by the grace of God.  The grace of God is the source of all faith.  Our faith is by the grace of God.  We are all given faith in God by the grace of God.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

God gives us His Grace and God gives us the measure of faith.  Both grace and faith are given, gifted to us, by God Himself.

We don't have faith by ourselves.  We are not born with faith in God, because God says that not all men have faith.

The faith that we have is given to us from God.  We are gifted faith through the grace of Jesus.  God has given every person the measure of faith through grace, by the grace of God.  The measure of faith in Christ Jesus is gifted to us by Jesus.

We own nothing.  From the breath of life, God gives to us when we are born, everything given to us is from God above in Heaven.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27

We are saved by the grace of God through faith in God.  We are given faith by the grace of God.  We are able to have faith in God, through Christ Jesus, not of ourselves, but by the grace of God, by the grace of Christ Jesus.   There is only one grace, the grace of God, the grace of our Lord Christ Jesus.

Our life, our love, our faith are all through Christ Jesus.   Everything that we are given is given to us from God through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

No one can save their selves from sin and death.  We are NOT saved by ourselves, by anything that we do, but we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.  Salvation is the gift of God.

We can do nothing without God.  Without Christ we are nothing.

Jesus Christ is the vine and we are the branches.  We only have life through the vine, by being connected, joined to Christ Jesus.  Without Christ Jesus we can do nothing.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

If we abide in Christ, He will abide in us.  We are to be constantly looking to Christ Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, the Creator of all things, our Blessed Hope.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:11-13

We are God's, only through Christ.  We can only connect to God the Father through God the Son.  Eternal life with God the Father is only through the Son of God, Christ Jesus.  There is no other way to God the Father except through God the Son.

And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. 1 Corinthians 3:23

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Faith comes by hearing God

So faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

The scriptures tell us that the Word is God, and the word of God is the written words of God that we have in the Holy Bible, and the word of God is Jesus, and the word of God is the voice of God.

The word of God, the voice of God, calls every person to Him.  God calls every creature that He created to Him.

God forgets no one, God calls every person to Him.  No one is exempt from hearing the voice of God calling them to Him.

The moment we are born, God starts calling us to Him.  Whether or not we respond to His call is our choice.  We are all given free will to choose the salvation of God, or to refuse the salvation of God.

The will of God, His heart's desire, is for all people everywhere to obtain salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

The moment God breathes life into our bodies, when we are born into this world, God calls us to Him.  God calls all of His creation to Him.  God wants us all to come to Him to receive eternal life.

Everything created in this world, was created by the Word of God, by Jesus Christ.  By the word of God, the heavens and the earth, the worlds were created.  By the Word of God the seas and land were formed.  By the word of God every animal, bird and fish were created.  By the word of God human beings were created.  By the Word of God all things were created, all that we can see and all that we cannot see.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3

Jesus said that His disciples are all people who hear the Word of God and do it.

And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luke 8:21

The Word of God is the written word of God, the Holy Bible; the Word is the Son of God, Jesus Christ; the Word of God is the voice of God who calls each of us to Him; and the Word of God is the name of Jesus Christ.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 1:1

We are gifted faith from God above.  Our faith does not come from this world, because our faith comes from God.  Our faith is established and grows and is strengthened by the power of God, and not by men.  (1 Corinthians 2:5)  If you are building your faith by listening to men, man's doctrine, beware, because the faith of God is established and strengthened by God, by the power of God, through God and by God.

When is faith established?

When does faith become faith?  When is faith - faith?

We all are given the measure of faith by God, but faith is not faith, until it is used by us.

Faith in God is established when we use it, when we have faith in God when we accept the truth of God, that He is all He claims to be, as written in His word.

Our faith is grown, nourished, strengthened, and increased every day by our continued walk with Jesus in obedience to the gospel, as is the will of God.

Faith in God is maintained by using it every day.  Without exercising our faith in God daily, it will dim and fade away.  We must begin and end each day in faith of God.  Faith is to be continued every day of every believer's life.  Believes are to go from faith to faith, moving from faith in God one day to faith in God the next day.  Faith is continuous in the heart of every believer, because the just, the saved in Christ live by faith every day of their lives.

Our assurance of our salvation is that we walk by faith, we live by faith, every day of our lives.  Believers, who are the saved, the just shall live by faith.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

The scriptures tell us that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, walking from faith to faith, continuing in faith, stepping up from faith to faith, going from faith to faith, from faith to more faith, continuing on the path of faith to the path of faith, never leaving faith, abiding in faith, continuing in faith to faith, living in faith all the days of our lives.

The righteousness of God is NOT revealed from faith back to sin.  No, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, going from faith today and continuing in faith tomorrow.  Believers of Christ Jesus live by faith, we breathe by faith, we walk by faith, we exist by faith.

Everything we do, as believers, in word or deed is by faith.

To reach our final destination, which is the salvation of our souls, the Heavenly Kingdom of God we must continue in faith.  Living by faith, walking in faith, is the only pathway that will reach the Kingdom of God.  Without faith in God, you cannot reach God.

The path of faith, our journey to God is on the path of faith, the path of faith ends in salvation inside the gates of Heaven.  The end of our faith is the salvation of our souls.

The end of our faith is salvation, if we do not give up faith, if we do not let go of our faith, if we stay on the path of righteousness and faith, we will see the end of our faith, which is salvation in the Kingdom of God.  Faith is required by God to enter into His rest.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Hebrews 3:6

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Hebrews 3:14

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matthew 10:22

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew 24:13

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mark 13:13

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 2 Timothy 1:12-14

Who has faith?

Every human being has faith, but NOT every human being has faith in God (2 Thessalonians 3:2).

We have faith that the sun will rise in the morning and that the sun will set in the evening.  We have faith that the moon and stars will come out at night.

We have faith that there will be oxygen in the air so we can breath.

We have faith in our government that when we spend a dollar at the grocery store they will take our money as legal tender for our purchases.

We have faith in a chair when we sit down that it will hold us.

We have faith when we drive over a hill, but we can't see over the hill, that there will be land on the other side.

We have faith when we get out of bed at night, but can't see the floor, that there will be a floor on which we will stand.

You can probably think of many other things where our faith is tested and proven every day.  Even the atheist have faith, they have faith that there is no god.  Believe in nothing is still belief and is faith in nothing.

Biblical faith.   "The faith" spoken about in the Holy Bible is faith in God, saving faith.  Every human being has faith, but NOT every human being has faith in God.

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 2 Thessalonians 3:2

Faithless.  The unbelieving, the faithless, the unfaithful, the unreasonable and wicked men do not have faith in God - Titus 1:15; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 21:8.

So, if all men don't have faith in God, you may ask, how is anyone ever saved?  Good question.  As with all questions, God answers this question in His Word.  All men and women are given the "measure of faith", so that we might be saved.  The salvation of God is a choice, my choice, your choice, our choice.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

We are all saved the exact same way, by grace we are saved through faith, we are saved by the grace of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ - Ephesians 2:8.

God gives everyone the measure of faith.  We are given the measure of faith, by which we can believe in God to the salvation of our souls.

We know all good things come from God above, including faith.  Faith is a gift from God to us all.  We are given faith by God.  God gives everyone the measure of faith to believe in Him, faith to hear and faith to answer His call to come to Him.

Faith in God is established, planted, rooted down, grounded, when we accept His Son as Lord and Saviour and Master of our lives.

When we believe in Jesus as our Lord and surrender our lives to Him completely, accept the truth that Christ Jesus died for our sins, He will forgive all our sins, save us from sin and death, we receive saving faith.  Faith is not faith until it is used.

Who has faith in GOD?

Faith in God to salvation is faith in God that He is all who He says that He is and that He is able to do all He says He is able to do.  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

All who are saved by the grace of God have faith in God.  We are saved by grace through faith.  The salvation of God is received through faith in Christ Jesus.

God's own, the children of God, have faith in GOD.  The children of God are all who come to God for salvation.  The children of God are all who have been born-again into the family of God.  The children of God are all who have faith that God is all who He says that He is in His word.  We are all the children of God through faith in Christ Jesus - Galatians 3:26.

Whosoever believes in Jesus to salvation has faith in God.  God defines who has faith in Him and who does not, through His Scriptures.

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  Romans 3:23

Why do I need faith?

God created all things.  God has all things laid out in a plan, His plan, before time began.  My life and your life was laid out in a plan, a purpose to bring glory to God.  All creation is part of His Master Plan.  The plan of God is perfect.

God has a plan for our lives, how we should live, and how we come to Him when He calls us to Him.  God's way is the right way.  God's plan, His will for all our lives, is for all of us to obtain salvation through faith in His Son.

God loves us so much and wants all of us to live forever with Him in His Heavenly Kingdom.  God doesn't want anyone to perish, without Him for eternity.  The door to His kingdom is entered through His Son.

By grace we are saved through faith, faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, redeemer of our sins.  Through Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, we receive the gift of God, which is eternal salvation, by faith in Him.

Faith is the plan of God for our salvation.  There is no other way to God, except by His plan, written down for all of us in His Holy Word.

Without faith it is impossible to please God

Why is it impossible to please God without faith?  Because he that comes to God must believe that He is God.   We must come to God through faith, by believing that HE is GOD.

We come to God through faith and through faith we believe that He is God.  The only way to God is though faith.  Only by faith can we come to God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Unless you see Jesus Christ in truth, come to Him with unwavering faith and believe that He is God, you cannot be saved.

We must have faith in God, and believe that He is ALL who He says that He is.

Faith is the key, that unlocks the door to God.

You are saved through faith

By the grace of Jesus Christ, we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.  We are given faith through grace.

We are given faith, by the grace of Christ Jesus, faith to believe in the Son of God to salvation.

Without faith no one is saved.  We receive the gift of God, which is salvation, eternal life, through faith in Christ Jesus, the Son of God.

There is no other way to be saved, except through faith in God.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

Everyone that is in Heaven now, and everyone that will be in Heaven for eternity, are saved the exact same way, which is by the grace of God, through faith in God.

There is no other way to God except through faith in God aloneFaith in God is all that God requires to receive His free gift of salvation.

Works are not required for salvation from God.  Going to church is not required for salvation from God.  Penance is not required for salvation from God.   Chanting is not required for salvation from God.  Money is not required for salvation from God.

Through faith in God alone, we receive the truth of the knowledge of God.  Through faith in God alone, we receive the righteousness of God and the power of God to obey God and live in righteousness.

Through faith in God alone we are saved.  Through salvation by faith in God alone, we produce good works, we become a new creature, we become righteous, we love one another, we desire to seek God and be with God and obey God.

Righteousness and good works do not save anyone.  Only faith in God alone saves anyone from sin and death.

Without faith it is impossible to please God

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Romans 14:23

Those who are without faith.

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. Deuteronomy 32:20

Christ has risen, therefore our faith is not vain.

And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 1 Corinthians 15:14

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:17

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

Why is it impossible to please GOD without faith?

Faith is believing God is God

Faith is required by all people, in order to please God.  The word of God tells us all that, "Without faith it is impossible to please God".

Everyone who comes to God must believe that He is God.  Faith is believing God is God.  Faith is believing that God is all who He says that He is, in all His scriptures.  Partial faith is not faith.  You cannot believe some of what God says and have faith in God.

Faith in God is believing all that He says in His word.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Faith is believing that God is the Creator of all things.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28

Faith is believing that God is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and that these three alone are One God.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Faith is believing that God will return one day to this earth for all His believers, and take them to His Kingdom of Heaven.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3

Faith is believing that God holds the keys of hell and of death.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:18

Faith is believing that God gives us revelation of Himself in His Holy Bible, and all of His word is error free, true and pure, never changing, and will all be fulfilled.  The word of God is infallible, indisputable, incorruptible, living words of God.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Proverbs 30:5

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:20-21

Faith is believing God alone forgives our sins and gives us eternal life.  Forgiveness of sin is given by God alone.  Eternal life is given only by God.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Faith is believing that by the grace of God through faith we are saved. Faith is believing that salvation gives us remission of our sins and eternal life in God's Kingdom of Heaven.  Faith is believing that the grace of God alone is sufficient to give us all salvation and that we do not receive salvation by our works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Faith is believing all things were created by Jesus, for Jesus and because of Jesus.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:16-17

Faith is believing in one God.  Faith is believing that God was manifest in the flesh is the Son of God, Jesus Christ.  Faith is believing that God was justified in the Spirit.  Faith is believing that God was seen of angels.  Faith is believing that God the Son, Jesus Christ preached unto the Gentiles.  Faith is believing that God Christ Jesus was believed on in the world.  Jesus died on a cross for the sins of the world.  Jesus rose from the grave, received up into glory and is alive and lives in the Kingdom of God.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

Faith is believing that Christ was crucified, died upon a cross, received up to Heaven, rose from the grave, seen by multitudes of people, ascended up to the right hand side of God the Father, and reigns forever.  Faith is believing that God Jesus raised Himself from the grave to everlasting life.

For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. Romans 14:9

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1 Thessalonians 4:14

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

Why do I need faith in Christ Jesus?

The will of God is for all the people of this world to obtain salvation through His Son 1 Thessalonians 5:9; 2 Timothy 2:10).  The perfect plan of God was setup through His Son, Christ Jesus.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

Eternal life is Jesus Christ (1 John 5:20).  Eternal life is received by Christ Jesus (Romans 5:21).  Eternal life is receive through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).

God loves us all so much that He sent His only begotten Son into this evil world so that we might obtain salvation.  Obtaining salvation through Jesus Christ, faith in the Son of God as our Savour and Lord of our life, is God's perfect plan.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Because of the fall into sin by Adam, the first man that God created on this earth, we are all born into sin.  The wages of sin is death and the wrath of God because of the fall of Adam.

God set forth a perfect plan, in which He would send down from Heaven His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be the one and only sacrifice for all the sins of all the people of this world.  Jesus, the only acceptable sacrifice for sin, who was free from all sin, would sacrifice His own life on a cross at Calvary and shed His own blood as sacrifice for all our sins.  Through the sacrifice, shed blood, and death of Jesus, the Son of God, we could receive atonement of our sins.  Jesus paid the price on the cross for all sinners, all people of this world, once and for all.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10

All we need to do to receive forgiveness of our sins is believe in God's Son, Jesus Christ, believe that God sent His Son from Heaven, that Jesus lived a sinless and perfect life, that Jesus was crucified on a cross, that Jesus shed His blood for remission of our sins, that He died and was buried, and that Jesus rose from His grave into a new life, resurrected into life as we will be one day, and sits on the right hand side of God the Father.

We must believe that God is all who He says that He is, and that His promises to us are true, we must have faith in all of God.

We all receive salvation the exact same way by grace through faith.  By the grace of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ we are saved from sin and death.

Faith in Christ Jesus saves.  We become heirs to the Kingdom of God the Father only through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.  We only become the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Jesus said: "whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me." (Mark 9:37)  We know through the scriptures that God the Father send Jesus to earth to save the world from sin and death through His own death.

Receiving Jesus is receiving God the Father, for they are not separate, they are one.  Jesus said: "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30)

God makes this very clear in His word.  No man can come to God the Father except through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 14:6-7

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. John 14:8-11

Jesus is the revelation of God to mankind.  All that God is, was shown to mankind through Christ Jesus when Jesus lived on earth.  We know God only through His Son.  We will see God one day face to face through His Son Jesus Christ.  When we see Jesus we will see God, they are one.

Why do I need to have faith in God the Father AND the Son?

To be born again we must have faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26).

If we believe in God the Father we must also believe in the Son of God, who is Jesus Christ, God the Son.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Mark 11:22

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

If we have faith in Jesus Christ, our sins will be forgiven and we will be saved and receive eternal life.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

To him give all the prophets witness, that though his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Acts 10:43

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, though the forbearance of God; Romans 3:25

When we believe in Jesus Christ we are saved by faith and we all become the children of God.

For we are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

God says if you do not have faith in Jesus Christ, you do not have faith in Him.

If you do not believe in the Son, Jesus Christ, you do not believe in the Father.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:  but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:22-23

God says the two cannot be separated.  God the Father and Jesus the Son are one.

Jesus said -

I and my Father are one. John 10:30

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:9

There is only ONE LORD, there is only ONE Saviour, there is only ONE God.  God the Father and God the Son are ONE God.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Philippians 3:20

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 1 Timothy 4:10

Why aren't my works faith?

Many good people believe that they are saved by their works.  Many good people believe that they are saved through their faith and their works.  Many good people believe in their works for salvation.  Many good people believe that their works is faith.  Many good people are deceived.

God says that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.  Works are generally seen and therefore, works are not faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Good works are produced by faith.  Good works are the product of saving faith.  Works are not required by God for salvation, His salvation is a gift to us through faith alone.

The word of God tells us that we are to maintain good works, but works can never save anyone.  Works should never replace your faith in God.  You should not have faith in your works.  Faith is to be in God alone.  Faith in God saves.

Do you have faith that your works will save you?  God tells us in His word that we are saved by His grace alone through faith in Him alone.  God goes on further to be more specific and tell us that we are NOT saved by our works

So why do so many people believe that they are saved by their works?  I don't know, maybe it is because that is what they have heard all their life, or something their parents taught them.  Salvation by works is not biblical.

Salvation by works is NOT of God, because God says that we are NOT saved by works.

God says that we are saved by grace through faith.  By the grace of God we are saved by faith in God alone.

We are to have faith in God alone for our salvation.  We are not to place our faith in any works that we might do.  Nothing we could do ourselves, can ever save us from death and hell.  Only God saves anyone from sin and death, by His grace through faith we are saved from sin and death.

When we place our faith in our works we are removing our faith in God alone for our salvation.  Without faith in God alone for our salvation you cannot receive salvation, and you will be eternally separated from God.

I heard someone say once that "yes, they had faith in God", and then they added, "just to be sure that they would go to heaven, they had faith in buddha, mohammad, confucius, and the dalai lama, too".  Salvation is not a joke.  No one can believe in every religion, have faith in all gods, and have faith in the one true living God.  No one can have faith in all gods and receive everlasting life in the Kingdom of God.

God says that we must have faith in ONE God.

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Romans 3:30

Faith in God alone saves.  Believing in anyone, or anything other than the one true living LORD God Almighty, cancels out your belief in God.  By saying that you believe in anyone or anything else, you are saying that you do NOT have faith in God alone for your salvation.

By saying that you have faith in God in addition to your faith in your works to save you, you are telling God you do not have faith in Him alone to save you.

You either have faith in God alone to save you, or you do not have faith in God alone to save you.  You can't have faith in God along with faith in other things.

We will all stand before the judgment seat of God one day, we will all be judged by God.  God tells us in His word that good works will not save anyone

Many people will stand before God and say, "I've been good, I lived righteously, I've feed the poor, I went to church, I read your Word, I tithed, I donated my money to needy causes, I've done many good works for you", and God will tell them, "Depart from me, you that work iniquity".  These good people who did good works all their lives will be eternally separated from God, because they placed their faith in their works.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23

We must have complete faith in God alone to receive salvation.  We cannot have faith in God and faith in some person and receive salvation.  We cannot have faith in God and faith in our works to receive salvation.

God wants ALL our faith.  God requires complete unwavering faith in Him alone for salvation.  God does not share His glory with anyone or anything.  God will not share our faith in Him with anyone or anything else, including works.

The will of God is that we all obtain salvation, by the grace of God through faith in God alone.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

How can I have faith in GOD?

By listening to God we can have faith in God.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  Romans 10:17

God calls every person to Him.  Every person ever born has received a call from God to come to Him.

God gives every human being "a measure of faith"  (Romans 12:3).  We are all given a measure of faith to believe in God.

Faith in God is a choice we all must make before we die.  We choose to have faith in God.  We choose to believe in God or not.

Faith in God is either received or rejected.  It is our choice.  We each choose our eternal destiny.  We either choose to come to God and accept Him into our life, or we reject God and tell Him we do not need Him.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

Faith in God is a lifestyle we choose to live.  Faith in God is rejecting the world's system of materialism and selfishness - me first mentality - and choosing to follow Christ, placing Jesus first in your life, letting God rule all areas of your life, following the leadership of Jesus Christ for everything pertaining to life.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them,             Whosoever will come after me, let      him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  Mark 8:34

For more information see Choices.

Know this, God calls everyone to Him, to His kingdom.  We all feel the tug at our hearts to come to Jesus.  Some people hear this call to call many times before they make a decision.   God never promises to call us forever.  We must answer God's call when He calls us, because no one on this earth is promised a tomorrow.  If you die without  the salvation, if you die without answering God's call - yes, then you will spend eternity without God.  Today if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.  Hebrews 3:15

How are we saved through faith?

All people are saved the exact same way by God, which is by the grace of God through faith in God.

We are all saved the exact same way, by grace we are saved through faith, we are saved by the grace of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

By grace through faith we are saved.

By the grace of  God, through faith in God, that's it, that's all it takes to receive the gift of God, which is salvation.  Nothing else is required by God for salvation, except faith in His Son to salvation.

We receive what we believe.  We must believe to receive the salvation of God.

We must believe, we must have faith in God to salvation.  If we believe in God to save us, then we can be saved.

God promises salvation to all people who believe (Mark 11:24).

Saving faith is believing that the Son of God, Jesus Christ can save us from sin and death.  Saving faith is believing, being persuaded that Jesus is able to save me and keep all that He has promised in His word, believing at the end of this life, I will receive a new life, and everlasting life in the Kingdom of Christ, the Kingdom of God.

Faith in God alone, faith in Christ Jesus saves everyone, nothing else.  God requires nothing more than faith in Him alone.

Faith comes from deep down in our heart and soul.  Faith in God, unwavering, doubt free faith in God, faith that God is ALL that He says He is.

By grace through faith we are all saved

The word of God reads that no one can receive the gift of salvation without faith.  The grace of God saves everyone, salvation is from God alone, salvation is the gift of God.

We are saved by grace through faith.  We are given grace and given faith both by God.

We must have faith, in order to believe in Jesus Christ and be saved.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

Faith is believing in what you cannot necessarily see.

Having faith in God is believing in God without physically seeing God.  The knowledge of God does not come through physically seeing God, but through seeing God through faith.

Believers are given the knowledge of the truth of God through faith.   We are all given faith by God.  We can use faith to seek God.  We receive salvation by the grace of God through faith in His Son.  By believing in Jesus Christ's death for our sins and His resurrection to life, we can obtain salvation, which is eternal life.  Through faith we are saved by grace.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ saves us from sin and death.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:11-14

Having faith in Jesus Christ is believing:

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God
  • Jesus died on a cross for the redemption of our sins
  • Jesus was buried and rose up in three days from the grave
  • Jesus ascended into Heaven and sits on the right side of the Throne of His Father
  • Jesus will, as He promised us in God's holy scriptures, return to earth again some day
  • Jesus will judge the world and take those of us who believe in Him and endure until the end with Him into Heaven
  • Through faith in Jesus we will receive eternal life with God the Father.

Through faith in God we are justified

We are justified to God by faith, belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, as Saviour and Lord.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Romans 3:28,30

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.  So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Galatians 3:8-9

Everyone can be justified, made worthy to see God, through faith in God.  Unless we belong to the household of faith, we will not see God.  Only those people who have faith in God will ever see God.  Only those people who have faith in God will spend eternity with God.

Through faith in God we can receive the promise of salvation by God

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12

Salvation is received through faith in Christ Jesus, faith in God alone, nothing added.

Through faith to salvation we are kept by the power of God

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:5

Faith in God, faith alone is able to save us.  We are saved through faith, given to us by the grace of God.  All things are given to us by the grace of God, including the ability to have faith in Him.

By the grace of God, by the grace of Jesus, we are saved through faith.  ONLY by the grace of God, we are able to have faith in God and be saved.

All things good, that we have in our lives, is BY the GRACE of GOD.

We can do nothing without God's grace.  We cannot be saved by ourselves, our own works.  We are saved ONLY by the grace of God through faith in God.

Works have never saved anyone.  Works will never save anyone.  Salvation by works is a lie straight from the devil, DO NOT BE DECEIVED, GOD says that no one is saved by works.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Titus 3:5

We are saved by the love of God, by the mercy of God, by the grace of God, NOT by works.  God is able to save us all by Himself.  God does not need our help to give us salvation.  What could we possibly do, or give God worthy of our redemption.  We could never do enough works, or works worthy enough for entrance into His Kingdom.  This is why Jesus came to us.  Jesus paid the price for the sins of the world.  Jesus alone was sinless and a worthy sacrifice for our sins.  Only the works of Jesus were worthy enough to deliver us from sin and death.  Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins once for all people.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10

How can I live by faith?

We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9).  We are saved by faith, by faith in Christ Jesus.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

We are all the children of God by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord God.  We are NOT the children of God without faith in Christ Jesus, only through our faith in Christ Jesus are we saved, are we all the children of God.  Without faith in Christ Jesus no one will see God.  No one is saved without faith in Christ Jesus.

We know by the Word of God, that we are all saved by faith in Jesus Christ, but did you know your faith doesn't end with your salvation?

If we want to follow Christ, we must live by faith.  We are not to have faith in Christ Jesus just on the day that we receive our salvation, for one day, but we are to have constant, enduring, everlasting faith in Christ Jesus for all of our lives.  We are to live by faith every day.  We are to live by faith all the days of our lives

The just shall live by faith, the saved in Christ Jesus live by faith.  Our assurance of our salvation is that we live every day by faith in Christ Jesus.  Faith in Christ Jesus that we are the children of God.

God is alive, He is our one true living God and faith is alive and living in all of God's children.

Saving faith is a living faith in a living Saviour.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Galatians 3:11

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure with him. Hebrews 10:38

Who are "the just"?  The just are all people who are saved in Christ.  We are saved by the grace of Christ Jesus through faith in Christ Jesus.  Believers of Jesus Christ are the just. All people who have faith in Jesus Christ to salvation are the just.  The just are all people who have accepted the gift of God, which is salvation.

How do the just live by faith?  As believers of Christ Jesus we are to walk in the ways of our Lord.  To live in faith we are to be like Christ, live how He lives in righteousness.  The just "put on" Christ, take on the mind of Christ, live in love of God the Father and love one another.

We live by faith when we think like Jesus, have the mind of Christ, putting other's needs before ourselves with love and patience.  Living by faith is praying without ceasing, and living life with a joyful heart unto the Lord God.  Living by faith is doing all things - everything - in word and deed - to the glory of God.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:5-8

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

As believers, we are all God's witnesses, examples of righteousness, representatives of God, and ambassadors of Christ Jesus, to all the lost people of this world, in what we say and do and how we live by our faith in God.

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isaiah 43:10

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1 Peter 3:8-12

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:13-14

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7

We walk by faith and not by sight.  We have put our total faith and trust in God alone.  We are saved and have been given the Spirit of God through sanctification.  We have been reborn into the spirit of God.  We live in the spirit of God and walk in the spirit of God.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:6-8

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

How do I know if I am NOT living by faith?

Are you living your life by faith? The following are a few signs to tell if you are not living by faith.

You are not living by faith if you are:

  1. Complaining and murmuring - If you are complaining about everything and murmuring, you are not living by faith.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: Philippians 2:14

  2. Fearful - If you are living in fear, you are not living by faith.  Fear will stop your faith, and faith will stop your fear.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Psalm 56:4

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Hebrew 13:6

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? Mark 4:40

It is impossible to hold onto God and hold onto fear, when we are attached to God we are not attached to fear.

  3. Unthankful - If you are unthankful, you are not living by faith.  If you are focused on what you don't have rather than all the gifts God has given you, you are unthankful.  If you are focused on problems in your life instead of God's promises, you are unthankful.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

  4. Gossip - If you gossip, you are not living by faith.
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? James 3:11 ...so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:12

  5. Self absorbed - If you are focused on yourself you are not living by faith.  You are not the foundation of your faith.  You must focus of Jesus.  Jesus doesn't look for good people, he looks for people of faith.
  6. Easily offended - If you are easily offended you are not living by faith.  Offence will kill your faith.  Faith cannot be offended. When our focus is Christ, when we are Christ-centered - nothing can offend us, because those things do not matter the only thing that truly matters to us is Jesus.
Great peace have thy which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalm 119:165

  7. Blaming others - If you are blaming others you are not living by faith.
  8. Obsessed with your problems - If you are obsessed with your problems, you are not living by faith.  You should not be focused on the problems in your life, your should be focused on God.  God is bigger than your problems.  God cares and wants to help you with all your problems.
  9. Living in Sin - If you are living a life attached to sin, you are not living by faith.  Those living by faith are attached to Christ Jesus, not attached to sin.  Sin must be abandoned, rejected, avoided, forgotten, forsaken, for one to live by faith.  Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  Avoid (sin) it, pass not by (sin) it, turn from it (sin). Proverbs 4:14-15.
  10. Anxious - If you are anxious, you are not living by faith.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto God. Philippians 4:6

  11. Unbelieving - without faith in God you cannot live by faith.  The unbelieving do not have faith in God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

Any one can see the Kingdom of God, even the wicked, if they turn from sin and turn to God.  Repentance is required for salvation.  All the children of God have repented from sin, turned from a life of sin to a life of Christ Jesus.

God promises all people, no matter what you have done in your past, or doing now, if you turn from it you can receive the gift of God, eternal life with Him for all eternity.  But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.  Ezekiel 18:21

How do we err from the faith?

Trusting in anything or anyone other than God causes anyone to err from the faith.  When one loves and pursues money at any cost, loves things more than God they have erred from the faith.

Coveting money

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10

We can all avoid erring from the faith by keeping the truth of God in our hearts.

Keep the truth of God in our hearts

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.  O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:  Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.  Grace be with thee.  Amen. 1 Timothy 6:19-21

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diving the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 2 Timothy 2:15-18

We keep the word of God in our hearts, by knowing it, by studying and meditating on His words.

I think it is amazing how many people can tell you everything there is to know about their new cell phone, latest social networking site, computer, etc., but know virtually nothing about their God, or what faith is all about.

How is faith "denied"?

Faith can be denied at any stage of our life, before salvation or after salvation.

Faith denied at God's invitation to salvation.  God calls every person to Himself, and God gives every person a measure of faith to come to Him.  If we deny God and reject His salvation, faith is denied, and consequently one does not receive the salvation of God, because the salvation of God is given to all people the same way - by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Faith denied after salvation.  When one departs from the living God, abandons their faith in God, then their faith is denied.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Hebrews 3:12

Unbelief (the absence of faith) separates anyone from God.  Without faith it is impossible to please God.

When one casts off their first faith (1 Timothy 5:12) they deny Christ and His salvation, and their faith is denied.

After salvation, when one turns their back on the truth of God and goes back to their life before Christ they have denied the faith (1 Timothy 4:1).  Forsaking salvation is faith denied.  Denying Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior is faith denied (Matthew 10:32-33).

Provide not for his own.  Scripture gives another example of faith denied, which is when one does not provided for their own families, this is faith denied.  God is love and God is all about family, we are to cherish our families as they are a gift from God.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8

How can I have assurance of faith?

God not only said we can have assurance of faith, but God says that we can have full assurance of the faith (Hebrews 10:22).

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Hebrews 10:22-24

We are to examine and prove faith in ourselves, not others.

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.  Knew ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5

The assurance of our faith is our peace we have in God.  The effect of God's righteousness through faith is quietness and assurance forever.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isaiah 32:17

God promises to comfort His children in His love.  There is no greater thing than the love of God.  Through faith in God we have full assurance of God's love through understanding that is given to all His children.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3

We have full assurance of our faith in God because we walk in Him  and with Him every day.

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2:6-10

By placing our complete faith and trust in the LORD God with all our hearts we can have full assurance.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Psalm 5:11

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 1 Timothy 4:10

Through faith in Jesus we know we are the children of God.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:16

We are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).

We have assurance because we believe in God

We believe Abraham is saved, and we are saved by the same faith and the same grace of God (Galatians 3:7-9).

Because we have faith in God, believe in His salvation, we are saved.

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham (Galatians 3:9)

Because we believe in Jesus Christ to the salvation of our souls we are saved (Galatians 3:22).

For more information see - SALVATION ASSURANCE

The Holy Spirit assures our spirit

We have assurance of "saving faith", of being in "the faith", of our salvation in Christ Jesus because of the promises of God that we can see in His Word.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  Romans 8:16

God promises that when we are saved that the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are a child of God - Romans 8:16.

God promises to reveal, confirm, and assure us in our spirit that we are His children.  This is a promise from God and will always stand true.

We can know, we can be assured and comforted that we are the children of God because the Spirit itself bears witness to our spirit - the Spirit of God speaks to our spirit - Spirit to spirit - and tells us that we are the children of God - Romans 8:16.

God is the one who worked and paid for our salvation, who gave us a way to salvation through Christ Jesus, who gives us the faith to see salvation, who gives us salvation, who establishes us in salvation, who helps us grow in grace and faith through salvation, who promises to be with us through every season in this life, who promises to never leave us or forsake us, and who has sealed us and given to us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts - Hebrews 13:5; 2 Corinthians 1:20-22.

We know who we are in Christ because the Spirit reminds us daily, speaks to our spirit daily and assures us, and gives us comfort.

Can I increase my faith?

God gives every person the measure of faith.  We are all given the same measure of faith (Romans 12:3) to come to God.  What we do with that faith, the precious faith gifted to us by God, is our choice.

Salvation is a choice every human being must make on their own.  What we do with the faith God has so gracious given to us is up to us.

God forces no one to accept His salvation, and God forces no one to use their gift of salvation in a certain way.  We are prompted and guided by the Holy Spirit as to what is the will of God for our lives, but even then, God never forces us to do His will.

God knows that those who truly love Him will choose to be with Him and will choose to follow Him.  God loves us and desires that we love Him, but He never forces anyone to do so.

God desires us to increase our faith, build upon the faith He gifts to us, grow in Him.

Using faith increases faith.  The only way one increases their faith is by using their faith.  Every time we step out in faith on one of God's promises, we increase our faith.  Each step we take in faith - our daily walk in faith - increases our faith.

We must urgently and earnestly consider our faith and the price that was paid for our salvation.  We must not neglect the gift God has given to us.  We are to share our faith with others, so that those who are without God can receive God as their personal Lord and Savior.

Every day we are presented with opportunities to share our faith with someone.  Every day we are gifted with opportunities to shine the Light of Christ to this dark and hurting world.

Increasing one's faith is a choice we make daily, when we take up our cross and follow Christ, when we walk in faith every day.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  Luke 9:23

When your faith is increased.  Increased faith is required so that God can use us for His purpose.  Increased faith is required by all believers so that God can give us more to do for His Kingdom.  Increased faith is the action and result of the faithful in Christ.  The Scripture does not state if your faith is increased, but when your faith is increased - 2 Corinthians 10:15.

Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly, 2 Corinthians 10:15

Because the faithful in Christ increase their faith, and when faith increases, then the kingdom of God is in action in that person's life.  The children of God live in a realm of faith in God every day, walking in faith, by faith, from faith to faith every day - 2 Corinthians 5:7; Romans 1:17.

Add to your faith - 2 Peter 1:5.   How is this done?  What is to be added to our faith?  How do we increase and grow our faith?  How do we find out what this all means and how to do it?  Your faith is increased through prayer, through fellowship with Christ, by studying God's word, and by sharing the love of God.

We grow in faith when we are with God, when we fellowship with Jesus, when we worship, when we pray, when we praise the Lord, when we sing to God, when when we study His word, when we love God and share His love with others.

No one can grow their faith without God.  Apart from God you cannot grow in faith.  No one can increase their faith without Jesus.  No one can grow, increase your faith but you and God.  You have to do the works of righteousness for your faith to increase and grow.  No one can grow your faith but you.  Every minute you spend in communion with God, every minute you prayerfully study the Word of God, every minute you share God's love with someone else, your faith grows, increases.

Growing in grace and faith requires learning, we must all be taught by God and learn how to grow in faith and how to increase our faith in God.  No one on this planet is beyond learning from God.  Every believer is a learner, as know one knows all that there is to know about God, no one.  We all learn from God the things of God.  God promises to teach each of us about Himself.  We are taught by the Holy Spirit who instructs us into the ways of God - John 14:26.

How do we hold onto our faith?

Hold onto your faith.  We are to guard our faith as it is a precious gift from God.  Our faith in God is who we are, not what we say we are, but how we live and function in Christ.  Because we serve Christ and because have faith in Christ to salvation we are God's children - 1 Corinthians 3:23; Galatians 3:26.

My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live. Job 27:6

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 10:23

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. Revelation 2:25

The faithful in Christ never let go of their faith in God.  We are to hold onto our faith until Christ returns for us (Revelation 2:25).  The power of God that we all have through salvation empowers us to hold onto our faith.

Living out your faith.  The just live by faith, not just on the day of their salvation, not just when they go to Church, not just when they are around certain people, but every day the just live by faith - Galatians 3:11.

Faith in God is a choice to live for God, surrendered to God, committed to Christ, love God, every day for the rest of our lives.

Too many believers think that since we are not saved by works, that God does not expect any works, but this doctrine is not biblical.  God expects all His own to maintain good works.  God tells us to be careful to maintain good works - Titus 3:8.

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.  Galatians 3:11

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.  Titus 3:8

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.  Titus 3:14

God expects us to give Him good works.   God gives us instruction in His word, as to what He desires and expects from all His children.

The believer has many duties that are to be performed for the Kingdom of God.

Our salvation, conversion, justification, redemption is the beginning of a new life with God, NOT the end.  There is not a red light when we receive salvation, but there is a green light to get started.   We are not to stop at salvation but we are to go at salvation.  We are to step on the gas, not the brake.   Salvation is alive today, not a one day event in the past.  Salvation is living out your life in faith to God everyday.

Take responsibility.  You are to take responsibility for your own salvation.  You are to work out your own salvation - Philippians 2:12.  You are to find out God's purpose for your life and then do it.  You are responsible.

Your salvation is your responsibility, not your pastor's responsibility, not your mother's responsibility, not your friend's responsibility, not your spouse's responsibility, not your grandmother's responsibility, not your girlfriend or boyfriend's responsibility, not your church's responsibility, and not God's responsibility.

Too many believers abandon their faith, abandon their salvation before it is even begunSalvation is not a vaccination against hell.  Salvation is communion with God, fellowship with Christ, a loving family relationship between you and God today, right now, tomorrow, and the next day - forever.  Salvation is a lifelong commitment to follow Jesus and His ways - depending on God and trusting in God for all things.

Jesus loves you.  Christ died for you, so that you could be saved from sin and death, so that you could have a relationship with God today - right now - and tomorrow, and forevermore.

Do not be deceived.  God looks into our heart at salvation.  We are saved by God alone based on what He sees inside our heart.  God knows who has surrendered their life to Him and those who have ulterior motives.  God is not mocked - Galatians 6:7 - God knows who repents of sin and is willing to turn from sin and turn completely to Him; God knows who loves Him and who doesn't, and He knows who has no intention of following Him and His word.  People may be able to fool other people, but no person on this earth can fool God.  God knows everything; God sees inside our hearts; God knows the truth about everyone.

Abide in Christ.  We hold onto our faith by remaining attached to Christ.  Apart from Christ we are without Christ and without faith.  We hold onto our faith by holding onto Christ - abiding in Christ.   We hold onto our faith by living the doctrine of Christ every day - 2 John 1:9.

I do not understand how people can think they are a Christian without Christ, without abiding in Christ.  Christ is what makes a person a Christian.  Living outside of Christ, living without Christ, living against Christ and His doctrine is not a Christian.  One is not a Christian without Christ.

Do NOT sin.  Avoid sin and all appearance of sin.  No one can hold onto faith and hold onto sin.  Sin in your life removes the faith in your life.  Living faith purges sin from your life.

For some reason, many people (even believers) have come to believe that sin is tolerated with God.  This is a lie from the enemy.  God never tolerates sin.  We are to avoid sin, not to hang around sin, we are to  turn from sin - Proverbs 4:15.

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 1 Corinthians 15:34

Abstain from all appearance of evil.  1 Thessalonians 5:22

No room for sin. When we fill up our lives with Christ, there will be no room for sin in our lives.  If you are struggling with sin, there is hope and that hope is Jesus.  Think on Jesus, talk to Jesus, seek and pursue Jesus, Jesus will fill up your life if you ask Him, Jesus will purge all sin from your life when you let go of sin and let Him into your life.

Build upon the foundation.  Christ Jesus is the foundation for every believer, the foundation we build our faith upon.

Our faith in God is not built upon religious doctrine, ceremony, rituals, sects, religious groups, religious assemblies, leaders, pastors, teachers, but faith in God is built upon the foundation God set up before the beginning of time - which is Jesus.  We cannot build our faith in God on any other foundation, other than God, other than Christ Jesus.

Pray without ceasing.  Prayer is the essential key to holding onto our faith in God.  Without prayer we are without power.  Without prayer we are without strength to handle what this life and this world throws on us.

Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17

If your faith in God is slipping or not where it should be - pray.  Prayer changes everything.  Prayer changes everyone.  Prayer will change you.

You can pray to God for help with all your issues, including faith.  Because God loves us so much, God waits for us every day to speak with Him concerning all issues of life.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Love God and love others.   God is love and everything that pertains to God is to be done through love - His love.  The love of God is a gift, a gift He gives to us and a gift we give back to Him by the love that we show to others.  Nothing pleases God more than when His children walk in His truth and in His love, live in His love, and give His love to others.

The children of God love God with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their mind, and with all their strength.  And the children of God love one another.  Loving God is the foundation for all that we do as the children of God

Love strengthens our faith to do the will of God.  Everything that we do is to be done through God's love.  Loving God above all things allows us to hold onto our faith - no matter what - all the days of our lives.

How is faith without works dead?

God states in His word that "faith without works is dead".

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

To understand this verse, we must know where faith comes from and what faith is, both were discussed previously.

We are all saved the exact same way - by grace through faithBy the grace of God through faith in God we are all saved.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

God states that we cannot save ourselves, we are NOT saved by any means of ourselves, we are NOT saved by any works done by ourselves, we are NOT saved by ourselves in any way because salvation is the gift of God.  The gift of God - eternal salvation - cannot be purchased or earned or rewarded by our works.

The word of God tells us all, that the gift of salvation is not received from God by faith AND works, but by His grace alone through faith.  God's grace alone is enough, is sufficient to save us all by itself, God's grace is sufficient - 2 Corinthians 12:9.  We are saved by grace alone and nothing else is required by God for our salvation.

Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:9

God says that we are NOT saved by our works.  We are NOT saved by a combination of faith and works, but we are saved by grace through faith alone.

Faith plus works does NOT equal salvation.  Grace plus nothing equals salvation.

God goes into great detail and explanation of His grace in His word.  God's word states that if salvation, if the righteousness of God came by the law, came by works, then Christ died in vain - Galatians 2:21.  Christ would not have needed to die on His cross for the salvation of the world, if we could have received the salvation of God by our own works.

We know that the righteousness of God is by faith of Jesus Christ - Romans 3:22.  We know Christ's death was not in vain, that through the death of Christ that sin and death were destroyed so that we might receive everlasting life in the Kingdom of God.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

By grace are we saved through faith, we are NOT saved by our own works - Romans 3:28.

Works are a product of faith

Works are a product of faith.  Good works come after salvation, never before salvation.

Some people may think that, if we are saved by grace through faith, then we don't need to do any works?  But this is not what the Scriptures say - Romans 6:1.  The commandments, the laws, the works of righteousness are established by faith - Romans 3:31.  Works are established by faith.  Works are produced from faith.   Good works are a product of saving faith.

We are saved by grace through faith.  Salvation is the gift of God, receive through faith, NOT by anything that we can do - or think we can do - for God.

Salvation is the operation of God, NOT the operation of works, and NOT the operation of God and our works.

Why we cannot be saved by our works?

If we are saved by works, then why is the grace of God needed?  What is the need for the grace of God, if it cannot save us.  Grace isn't grace, if we can be saved by our works - Romans 11:6.  By saying that we are saved by our works, we frustrate the grace of God, the we are making the word of God void, and the grace of God to no effect - Galatians 5:4.

Grace is the gift of God, just as faith is the gift of God.  We are given grace from God above, grace belongs to God - Ephesians 4:7.

So, back to the original question, "How is faith dead without works?", God says that this is just as the body is dead without the spirit, meaning "it is gone".  When works are gone, faith is dead.  God never said that works can save anyone, or that works is faith, or that works brings forth faith.  Faith is a gift of God, given to us by God.

As faith is dead without works, so faith is living with works, faith is alive with works.  But works do not produce faith, saving faith produces good works.

We are not alive because we breath, we breath because we are alive.  Our life did not begin by our action, but by God's action.  God first breathed life into us.  God breathed live into us, and then we became a living soul - Genesis 2:7.

First there was an action by God - He breathed life into us, and then there was a reaction by us, we breathed.  We didn't begin our life, God did - Genesis 2:7.

God creates life.  God saves people, not our own works.

Faith to salvation is FIRST, then comes works.

Faith to salvation is first, and then we are allowed to do works for God.

Our works for God are not seen, not accepted, are non existent before we receive the salvation of God, before we put on Christ, before we are saved.

Works do not establish faith, but faith establishes works, just as we didn't begin our own life, God began our lives by breathing life into us first.  Faith in God to salvation comes before our works for God can begin.

Salvation is first and then our works for God.  Our works acceptable to God, for God, come after we are saved, not before.  Nothing we do before we are saved are acceptable works for God.  Nothing is accepted as good and righteous works for God before we put on Christ, before we receive the salvation of God and we are cleansed from our sins.

Saying works establishes faith, is like saying that we establish our own lives.  God grants us life and God grants us faith to salvation, NOT by our works (Titus 3:5), but by His.

Not according to our works

God saves us by His sufficient grace, God saved us when we received Him by grace through faith, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which is given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2 Timothy 1:9

The grace of God saves us, the grace of God given to us through Christ Jesus brings salvation, we are justified to God by the grace of Jesus, by grace through faith we are saved from sin and death, by the grace of God we are made heirs to the Kingdom of God, we are made heirs according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11; Titus 3:7).

How are works without faith dead?

Okay, we have learned that our works are established only after we are saved, that we have no works before salvation, therefore no one has or ever will be saved by their own works, but we still need to know how are works without faith dead?

An electric wire by itself is powerless.  An electric only has power if it is attached to a power source.  And an electric wire is only as powerful as the power that it is connected to.  An electric wire is the conduit of electricity.  An electric wire that is not connect to an electric power source is dead, the wire not attached to a power source does not conduct electricity, does not produce any power at the other end.

The wire by itself is not electricity, the wire by itself is nothing really.  Only when the wire is connected to the power is there power produced out the other end.  A power wire is only a power wire when it is attached to, connected to, the source of power.  Without the wire being connected to the power source it is just a wire - a wire without power is dead.

Do not be deceived.  No one should get hung up on individual words.  Words by themselves do not have power.   The word "faith" saves no one.  God alone has the power to save people.  God is not faith - God is God, the God who saves.

There seems to be a new dynamic in the world today, a new doctrine, that is placing power in words, this is incorrect doctrine, as God alone holds all power.

God alone holds all power.  God shares His glory with no man, with no thing, with no word.  There is no power but of God - Romans 13:1.

The word "faith" by itself is not faith in God to salvation.  The word "faith" holds no power.  All power is in God.  God is the source of all power.  God is the source for our salvation.  God is the reason of our salvation, nothing more.

Nothing is to be placed above God, not even words out of His Scriptures.  Placing anything equal with God, to God, or above God is idolatry, and idolatry is an abomination to God.  We are all to flee from idolatry - 1 Corinthians 10:14.

Words do not save anyone, as only God has the power to save mankind.

Words do not perform miracles and words do not heal anyone, as only God has the power to perform miracles and only God has the power to heal.

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved:
for thou art my praise.
  Jeremiah 17:14

Can someone depart from the faith?

The scriptures tell that in the last days that some people will leave the faith, depart from their faith in God.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 1 Timothy 4:1

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

We wreck our lives when we put away our faith, when we deny our faith, when we forsake our faith, turn away from our faith in God (1 Timothy 1:19).

One departs from the faith when they give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron - 1 Timothy 4:1-3.  Departing from the faith, from the salvation is a choice that people make when they believe, have faith in something other than God.

What is the end of those who depart from their faith?

Damnation

Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. 1 Timothy 5:12

Unbelief, faithlessness, separates anyone from God for eternity.

Unless you repent of your unbelief, you will face damnation and separation from God after you die.

Only those who have faith in God when they die will be with God in eternity.

Is faith the same as belief?

The dictionary defines faith as allegiance to duty or a person, as loyalty; or fidelity to one's promises; sincerity of intentions; belief and trust in and loyalty to God; belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion; firm belief in something for which there is no proof; complete trust of something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs.

God defines faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen - Hebrews 11:1.  God says that His faith is a gift to His children, that we are given the measure of faith by His Grace - Romans 12:3.

God defines two types of belief: belief of God and belief in God.  Many people have a belief of God, but that does not mean they have belief in God.

Belief of God is believing there is a God and is different than believing in God to the salvation of your soul.

Belief in God is the product of faith.  Faith in God produces belief in all the truth of God.  Faith in God produces faith to salvation, believing in God to save you.

Just believing that there is a God does NOT save anyone.  Believing that there is a God and believing in that God to save your soul is saving faith.

Faith in God, saving faith, is believing in God for your salvation.  Faith goes beyond just mere belief that there is a God, into believing in all the promises of the one true God.

The difference between faith and belief is faith enables our believing in God to salvation.  Faith enables us to believe God is all who He says that He is in His word - Hebrews 11:6.  Faith enables us to abide in Christ.  Faith enables us to believe all the promises of God.  Faith enables us to know that we are saved.  Faith enables us to know that we have received eternal life, and when we die that we will pass from this life into eternal life into the Kingdom of Heaven.

One either chooses to believe in God or not to believe in God.  Belief is a choice, faith is a gift of God.  We all receive the measure of faith, the gift of faith, from God. The measure of faith gifted to all mankind enables us to believe in God to salvation. We believe in God by exercising or God-given faith in God.  We believe in God by having faith in the truth of God.

By trusting in God, we believe in God, we establish our faith in God by believing in God; believe in the LORD your God and be established (2 Chronicles 20:20).

When we choose not to believe in God we turn off our faith in God and are not established.  If we choose not to believe in God, we are not established in God - Isaiah 7:9.

Only by believing in God, choosing to believe in God, can we be established in God.  Only by believing in God can we exercise faith in God, and only by faith in God can we believe in God.  Only by believing in God can we know God and understand that God is God - Isaiah 43:10.

We believe in God by exercising our faith in God.  We have faith in God by believing in God.  We become the children of God by believing in God for the salvation of our souls.  We are all the children of God by faith in God - Galatians 3:26.  Faith in God for one's salvation grants on inheritance into the family of God.

Believing in God is a choice, we must all make before we die.  One must be alive to accept the free gift of salvation from God.  After one dies there is no hope for salvation.  The choice to accept salvation must be made will we are living.  Faith is the gift of God received to all people who believe that He is God and can give them eternal life.   Without believing that God is God, without believing that one can be saved by God alone, one cannot be saved - because all who come to God must believe that He is - Hebrews 11:6.

We are saved by grace through faith.  We are saved by the Grace of God through faith in God, by no other means, by no other way.

Eternal life, which is salvation of our souls, is received only by people who believe in it - Mark 11:23.  Salvation of our souls, eternal life is received only by those people who believe that God can and will give them eternal life in His Kingdom.  Believing in the promises of God, believing that God is all who He says that He is in His Word, believing our soul can be saved, our life saved from sin and death, believing is required to receive the promises of God.

Unless you believe God can save you, you cannot be saved.  Believe that you will receive salvation, and you shall have salvation - Mark 11:24.

All people must believe in God to be saved.  Without believing in God to salvation, you cannot be saved.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Is faith salvation?

Is "faith" the same as "salvation"?

Sometimes we use faith to refer to our salvation.  We might say I have faith, to mean that I have salvation, but faith in itself is not salvation.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen - Hebrews 11:1.

Faith is a gift from God through which one receives the salvation of God.  We are all saved the exact same way, by grace through faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).  By the grace of God alone we are saved, through faith in God that He can save.

We receive the salvation of God through faith, by having faith in God, but faith is not salvation.

Salvation is the operation of God where by He cleanses us from all our past sins and gives us His Holy Spirit to dwell inside of us, which allows us to be set free from sin and death, and enables us to live by faith in God.

Salvation is being set free from sin and the curse of death by God's grace through faith in Christ Jesus.

Salvation is through faith, for through faith we can hear the truth of God and ask for His forgiveness of our sins and through faith we can ask God to save our life.

We receive the salvation of God, when we trust God and believe that He is ALL that He says that He is in His word, that He alone can save our souls, cleanse us from sin, make us whole, reconcile us to Himself, and believe that we can receive eternal life - Hebrews 11:6.

Without believing that God can save us and give us eternal life through faith in His Son, we cannot be saved, we cannot receive the salvation of our soul without faith that God can do what He says that He can.

We only become the children of God through faith in Jesus to salvation, and believe that Jesus can save us, and when we believe that Jesus can save us from the wrath of God, when we have faith in Christ Jesus to the saving of our souls - Galatians 3:26.

If we cannot believe that Jesus Christ can save our souls from sin and death, then we cannot be saved.

Everyone who is saved believes that Jesus can save them, forgive them, cleanse them from sin, make them whole, make them acceptable to God, reconcile them to God, save them from sin and death, and give them eternal life.   No one is saved who doesn't have faith in God to save them, because faith in God to salvation is required by God to be saved by God - Hebrews 11:6; John 3:15-18.

Is there proof of faith?

What is proof of your faith?  What would you consider the proof of your faith?  Is there any proof of faith?

How is our faith in God to salvation confirmed and proven?  Can anyone's faith be proven?

Let's look at what is written in the Word of God ...

The Scriptures tell us that our faith is faith when it is used and there is evidence of our faith in the fact that we use our faith.  Faith in action is faith, otherwise it is not faith, unused faith is dead - James 2:26.

Dead faith - faith NOT used - is unbelief.  One either uses their God-given faith or they don't use their faith.  Faith unused is dead faith, or unbelief.  We are either in a state of faith or a state unbelief.  One or the other and never both.  One cannot have faith in God and remain in unbelief.  One cannot remain in unbelief and have faith.  Either one cancels out the other.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Galatians 3:11

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38

Living by faith is the evidence of one's faith in God.

Living by faith is the evidence of one's faith in God.  The just - believers - all who have received the gift of salvation from God - live by faith.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

To live by faith is a choice everyone must make for themselves.  Not everyone chooses God.  Not everyone lives by faith in God.  Not everyone lives by faith in the Word of God.

The just shall live by faith - living by faith is the evidence of one's faith in God, the proof that one has faith in God, has faith to salvation.  Living by faith in God shows the world you have faith in God.

Faith is the gift of God, given to all people - God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith - Romans 12:3.  Faith to salvation is when we use our God-given faith to believe in and receive the salvation of God.  Living by faith is using our God-given faith, our salvation in Christ Jesus, to obey God.  Living by faith is following the truth of God as written for us in His Word.

When we know and believe the promises of God, the God Promises written in the Word of God, we are using our faith.  When we remain in the faith, when we have faith in God by obeying God and His word then we are faithful.   When we are faithful to God it shows.

The power to live by faith, the power to rebuke sin, the power to live in righteousness comes from the salvation of God, from the power of Christ Jesus abiding in us.  Apart from Christ we have no power.

Your faith is showing, whether or not you want it to, your faith is showing to the whole world.  The proof of one's faith is seen in their faithfulness to God, obedience to God and His Word, by one's love toward God and other people.

Do not be deceived.  There is no faithfulness apart from God.  You cannot remain in the faith and be separated from God and His word.

Love, peace, goodness, mercy, grace, kindness, gentleness, meekness, thoughtfulness, longsuffering, temperance, control, forgiveness, joy, obedience, these are all products of faith, produced by faith, the fruit of faith in God to salvation.

A favorite saying is "what comes up in the bucket is down in the well".  You can tell what is in a person's heart by their actions, their words, how the live out their life.  Our source, our wellspring, is what we will produce - Luke 6:43-45.

The fruit produced is the evidence of the vine, the source.  The fruit produced confirms the source.  The fruit produced aligns with its source.  When we are attached to Christ, abide in Christ, seek God and seek His ways, His Kingdom, then we will produce His fruit.

No one can be a Christian without Christ, without living with Christ, in Christ, by Christ, without abiding in Christ one is NOT a Christian.   Christ is the source, the vine, without which we are not His, without Christ we are apart from God.

Obedience to God is proof of faith in God.

Is there proof of faith?  Yes, there is proof of faith.  God says, "My sheep hear My voice and follow Me" (John 10:27).  Obedience to God and the Word of God is proof of faith.

We are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).

Hereby we know that we are of the truth, by living out our faith in our lives, by living in truth, by our deeds, our good works, our loving kindness toward one another, we prove our faith, we show our faith, show who we are in Christ Jesus (1 John 3:18-19).

In living by faith in Christ Jesus, obeying God, following His Word and His ways, we know that God abides in us, and we have proof of our faith by the Spirit of God (1 John 3:24).

Our fruit is proof of our faith.

The fruit of the Spirit is produced only by people who live by faith in God, the faithful of God. The fruit of the Spirit is the product of faith in the life of every believer.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 3:10

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:19-23

Every person proves their faith by their lifestyle, by their own actions.

Every person shows who they are, who they serve, what they have aligned themselves to, who they are attached to, by the fruit that they produce.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived, you will reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7).  If you live a life of sin, if you manifest the works of the flesh, in the end you will receive death.  Do not be deceived, if you choose to remain apart from God on this earth, you will remain apart from God in eternity.

One last thought....Your faith is showing.

No matter where you go your faith is showing to the world.  People notice how you  - as a believer of Christ Jesus - react to life.  Someone is always watching you - to see how you react to problems through your faith.  Watching to see if your faith is something worth having.  Life is messy.  Life is painful.  Life is problematic. Faith in God allows believers to access the power and strength of God to overcome the struggles, the problems, the messiness of this life.  Because of our faith in Christ Jesus to salvation, we know this too shall pass, our life is but a vapor.  Whatever we are going through, this moment is nothing compared to the joy that is to come, because of the hope we have in Jesus, this -- all this life -- around us is temporal, but what we have in Christ is eternal - is eternal life - the joy we share in Christ is everlasting.  Our hope, our life - is not here - is not in the things around us, but is in the promise of God, the love of God, the everlasting life that is in Christ Jesus, for all who believe, for all who have faith in God - Galatians 3:26; James 4:14; Hebrews 6:18, 12:2; Proverbs 10:28; 1 Thessalonians 5:8; Titus 3:7; 1 Peter 3:15; 2 Corinthians 4:8-18; John 3:16, 36; John 5:24, 6:47.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready also to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:  1 Peter 3:15
