This is a Bible study on Foundational Truth. Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide.
The dictionary defines a foundation as a basis upon which something stands or is supported. As believers of Christ Jesus our foundation is Christ Himself, and we cannot build on another (1 Corinthians 3:11). Foundational truth is the basis upon which truth stands or is supported, by which we as believers stand. Biblical foundational truth is truth supported in the Word of God by God. Everything that a faithful believer of Christ believes should be based upon and supported and founded on the Word of God. Every aspect in the life of a believer should be in alignment with the Word of God. Christ Jesus and His Word is the source, the truth, the foundation, of every believer's life. The following is the foundational truth about the salvation of God: Salvation belongs to God alone. God saves. Salvation is received from God alone. Salvation is received by being born again. By being born again, we become the children of God (Galatians 3:26; Revelation 21:7). We become the children of God by receiving the salvation of God (Matthew 12:49-50; Galatians 3:26). We receive the salvation of God by believing God is God and believe all He says He is in His word. (Psalm 80:3; Isaiah 45:22; Hebrews 11:6). We believe God is God through faith (Romans 5:1-2, 10:9). We receive faith by the grace of God (Philippians 3:9). We receive the grace of God through Christ Jesus (Romans 5:15; Ephesians 2:7). We receive Christ Jesus by believing He can save us from sin and death through faith to salvation (1 Peter 1:5; Acts 15:11; Romans 10:13; Hebrews 10:10, 39). We receive salvation from sin and death by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 8:2; Titus 2:11; 2 Timothy 3:15). Foundational truth is all located in the Word of God and supported by the Word of God, and is the truth of God, from which we build our faith upon. Our faith is built upon Christ Jesus, our solid Rock by which we stand, our foundation as believers of the Most High God can be in none other than God.
There are many reasons why you need foundational truth of God:
To know truth from errorTo know the truth - God's truth - from error, we need foundational truth from God. Jesus says that people do err by not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
We err - we are in error, we are mistaken, we are wrong - not knowing the Scriptures, and not knowing the power of God. Be warned, if you do not know what you believe you are more likely to believe anything. If you do not know what it is that you truly believe, then it is easy for someone to manipulate you and tell you what you believe, even if it is wrong. We either stand in truth or error. God does not want us to fall, but to stand firm in the faith, His faith, His truth, by knowing His Holy Scriptures and by knowing His power, and by knowing Him.
To walk worthy of the LordThe course of every disciple of Christ is to walk worthy of the Lord.
To walk worthy of the Lord is every believer's mandate, duty, job, mission, task, and purpose. To walk worth of the Lord is what every believer aspires to because we love God and know that walking worthy of the Lord is pleasing to Him. By the love and power from Christ Jesus, His disciples are able to walk worthy of Him. Write out Colossians 1:9-14, keep these Scriptures with you, read it often, pray them, know them, love them. The more Scripture you read the more God's word is written on the fleshy tables of your heart (2 Corinthians 3:3).
To obtain salvationWhen we come to the knowledge of the truth of God, then we can obtain His salvation. One must believe in God to be saved by God. To receive the salvation of God, you must believe in God and believe and trust in His truth, none else. Before we were born, God set up His foundation, His truth, His Word and God loved us. After we are born, through His infinite love, God calls us to Him, to receive His gift of love, His salvation, so that we can spend our eternity with Him. God is love. God loves every creature He creates, especially mankind, because we are the only creatures made in His image (Genesis 1:27). All mankind is loved by God (John 3:16). Is it God's desire - His will - that all mankind come to the knowledge of the truth, and obtain His salvation, through faith in His Son - 1 Thessalonians 5:9.
God's desire is that we should live together with Him for all eternity - 1 Thessalonians 5:9. God did all the work for our salvation (Hebrews 4:3; John 17:4, 19:30), absolutely nothing else is required, all we must do is believe it and receive it, through faith by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Do not be deceived, without receiving the salvation of God, you will never see God, and you will be separated from God for all eternity. Don't delay! Believe in God today for salvation! Believe Jesus died for your sins and rose from His grave, believe that He will forgive your repented sin, believe He will save your soul from sin and death, and you will be saved! Acts 15:11; Romans 5:10, 10:13. God sets before every human being, life and death, believe today and receive everlasting life, because God says "CHOOSE LIFE!!" (Deuteronomy 30:19) Believe and be saved! If you believe God will save you, then you will be saved - Jeremiah 17:14. Trust God!
The foundation of God stands foreverIn the end, at the end of this world as we know it, only the Biblical foundational truth of God will stand, will live forever.
Every false prophet, every false teaching, every false bible, every false doctrine will be burned up and destroyed by the Word of God, in the end. Every false word, contrary to the word of God will NOT stand, will not endure. All people who attach themselves to false doctrines, false religions, false prophets, are following a lie, have attached themselves to a lie, choose to believe a lie, are the children of disobedience and will receive the same end as the father of lies, satan - Ephesians 5:6; Acts 13:10. There is no future for false doctrine, false teachings, false prophets, false Christs, false religions, false teachers, and all people who promote, use, and or follow false doctrine will be eternally destroyed, eternally separated from God. Do not be deceived by false doctrine. What and who you are attached to in this life is who you will be attached in eternity. There is only one foundation that will stand the test of time, that will stand throughout all eternity, and that is the foundation of God. Unless you attach yourself to the whole truth of God, the foundation of God, to His righteousness and His holiness, by grace through faith, receiving the salvation of God, you cannot enter into His rest, you cannot be saved from eternal damnation. We are either attached to satan or we are attached to God, it is our choice. We either choose eternal death, or we choose eternal life. God says "CHOOSE LIFE"!! (Deuteronomy 30:19). In the end of all things, at the end of this life, at the end of this world, there will be but one winner, one victor, one God who will reign forever and ever, the only true God, who is the Creator of all things, who is the Almighty Jehovah God. Who we follow and serve in this world is who we will be with in the next. Who are you following today? Do you serve God? Will you be standing with the victors? Will you enter rest with God?
Perilous times are coming to all people
Christ is coming soon (Revelation 22:20), the Kingdom of God is at hand (Revelation 1:3), are you ready? Imagine, if our government - as we know it today - was no more, imagine if we didn't have religious freedom, imagine if we didn't have any Bibles, no books, no Churches, no libraries, no internet - what truth do you have to hold onto? God promises wonderful things for His own in His Kingdom (1 Corinthians 2:9); but, before we get there, He promises us perilous times, persecution, suffering, tribulation, and for many even torture and horrible death (2 Timothy 3:1, 12; John 16:33; Acts 14:22; Revelation 20:4). We are not to fear what man can do to our flesh, because our flesh and everything else of this world is temporary. Our hope, our future is in Heaven (Luke 12:4-5).
Not some, but ALL believers in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. As believers of the Most High God, we are not afraid, we will stand firm in the faith, because all believers know that God is always with us, through everything, and He will never leave us, and that nothing in this world can be compared to the glory that awaits us in Heaven (Romans 8:18). All believers are promised by God, if we suffer with Christ, that we will also reign with Christ (2 Corinthians 1:5-7). Our suffering here is temporary, but our reign with Christ Jesus is eternal! Alleluia! As believers our hope, our trust is NOT in our flesh, NOT in this world, and NOT in ourselves; but, our hope, our trust, our faith is in God who loves us and saves us - 2 Corinthians 1:9-10. The finite, limited, measurable, temporary, joys and sufferings of this world in our earthly bodies, cannot be compared to the infinite, limitless, immeasurable, abundant, eternal, exceeding joy that awaits us when we see the glory of our LORD God - 1 Peter 4:13; Romans 8:18; Philippians 3:8, 13-14. God wants warriors - spiritual warriors - who are fully equipped to enter into spiritual warfare, defend the faith, share the gospel of Christ, and win souls to Christ, before the end. All believers are to be spiritual warriors - fighting the good fight of faith - enduring in the faith until the end of our life - Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:4. We must be prepared with the Word of God written with the Spirit of the Living God in the fleshly tables of our hearts to overcome the perilous times promised by God in the near future - 2 Corinthians 3:3. No one is promised a tomorrow, this may be your last day to read the word of God and prepare yourself for what lies ahead. God does promise us all death and after that His judgment, are you ready? There are no second chances after death for salvation, you must receive salvation when you are alive on this earth - Hebrews 9:27. All the promises of God will be fulfilled - Matthew 5:18. Everything God has said and written down for us in His Word is true and will happen. God does NOT lie - Titus 1:2. God is faithful to deliver every one of His promises - Hebrews 10:23; 1 Corinthians 1:9. We are to lay up in store for ourselves a good foundation through the Word of God, so that in the perilous times to come, we will be strong, established in the Word, fearless, bold, steadfast in the faith, unmovable in the truth of God, that we all may lay hold on eternal life - 1 Timothy 6:12, 19; Romans 4:20; 1 Corinthians 15:58, 16:13; Ephesians 3:12, 6:10; Hebrews 4:16, 10:19, 13:6.
To stand firm in the faithDo you know how to stand firm in the faith of God? We must know, without any doubt, how to stand firm in the faith, so that we will not stumble and fall. We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God by continuing in the faith, as the apostles - Acts 14:22. Do you want to know how to stand firm in the faith? Study the apostles in the Word of God, who faced prison and torture every day for teaching the gospel of Christ. Examine yourselves, prove your own selves, know what you believe so that you can tell others and show them the way to Christ Jesus.
The faithful in Jesus, the saved in Christ, the just, live by faith every day, enduring in the faith, continuing in the faith, growing in the faith all the days of their lives. In order to stand before our King Jesus in Heaven, we must fight the good fight of faith here on this earth, we must finish our course, we must keep the faith - 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
Because we love our Lord GodBecause we love our Lord God, we want to follow His truth, His way, His direction, and His will. Everything we are is because of God. Our very existence is because of God. Without God we are nothing. We owe everything to God, especially our lives. God loved us first, in spite of who we are. We love God because He loved us first.
We love God because by His love, He chose to save us from ourselves.
Because we love God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind, and with all our strength, we want to please Him and follow His ways and let His hand direct our lives, and give Him complete control by surrendering all of our life to Him alone. Because we love God we replace our desires with His desires, and we replace our self-will with His will for all things in this life. Our anthem changed from "me, me, me, it is all about me" to "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done" - Matthew 6:10. Because we love God, we place in Him completely our trust, our hope, our desires, our life in His truth. What can we do for a God who loves us so much? We can do our reasonable service, our whole duty, out of love and through love for our Lord and King, our Saviour, which is to present our lives, every day, as a living sacrifice, holy and blameless, sinless and pure, to God.
You should believe the truth of God. You should believe in God.
Believe in the one true living Jehovah God AlmightyYou should believe in the one true living God and in all the Word of God. You should NOT lean to your own understanding for the truth, or others, but to the understanding given to you from God - Proverbs 3:5; 1 John 5:20.
You should NOT lean to someone else's understanding of the truth - no matter who they are - but to the understanding given to you from God. God gives you - and each human being - a sufficient measure of faith to understand His truth, all by yourself, you need not have any man tell you what God means - 1 John 2:27. Believe in God over what men say, believe in God's written word over the doctrines of men. Believe God. Trust God. Placing your trust in some man, or woman, for the truth is wrong, because God states that His truth, the truth of God is in God, with God, by God, through God Himself, and not through man - 1 John 2:27. Men fail every day, but God never fails, the truth of God never fails. Believe God, believe in ALL of His word, not the words of man. Be very careful listening to men, because so many false teachers are in this world today (1 John 4:1), false teachers are wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15) deceiving even the children of God (Acts 20:29) for their own glory and wicked profit - Titus 1:11. If any man brings any doctrine that does not align perfectly with the word of God, the Word of God says you are not to listen to them and you are not to be associated with them in any way - 1 Corinthians 5:11, 13. Believers are to rebuke false doctrine - Titus 1:10-14.
Don't believe in false prophets
Don't believe someone just because of a title or position that they have. Don't believe someone just because they say that they are a follower of Christ Jesus. Don't believe someone because they look religious (Luke 20:46-47; Psalm 118:8). Don't trust in the words of any man, or any religion, or anything for your eternal salvation, over the words of God. If a teaching is not Christ centered, it is not of Christ. If a teaching does not promote ALL the Word of God as complete, inerrant truth, it is not of God.
God wrote His Word, His Scripture for you, so that you could know His truth, the only truth, the truth of God, so that you could come to the knowledge of the truth of God and receive His salvation and His love, and receive ALL His promises, including eternal life. Only by the grace of God through faith in His Word, can we be saved (Ephesians 2:8). You should believe in foundational truth, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10). Believe in God! Believe in the Word of God!!
Here, we will look at the foundational truth of God, which is found in the written Word of God. Foundational truth of God is: the Word of God, one Truth, God, one God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, creation, man, sin, salvation, the body of Christ, blood atonement, ascension, the Lord's Supper, baptism, Heaven, hell, eternal death, and eternal life.
The Word of GodBefore we can believe in any foundational truth of God, we must believe in its source, which is the Living Word of God. ALL Foundational Truth of God is found in His written Word. Anything that contradicts the written word of God is false. The written Word of God, from the original manuscripts, are the words of God, the revelation of God Himself for all mankind. The written Word of God is the words of God Himself, given to believers of God, holy men of God, who were moved by the Holy Ghost, and given the Word of God to write down. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.
If you ever wonder if what someone told you is from God - go to His word and find out for yourself. Do not be deceived by the doctrines of men, whose lies and false teachings are not from God. God tells us in His Holy Word that false prophets, false teachers, false doctrines, are in our world today, everywhere. Many who are disguised as believers of God actually preach and teach another doctrine, not the gospel of Christ Jesus. The true prophets, the true teachers of God's word, the true gospel and doctrine of Christ Jesus, will ALWAYS align with the true living word of God, and will NEVER be contrary to God's Word. It is up to us, to know the truth of God, so when we hear preachers and teachers, that we can discern the truth of God from the lies of darkness. God says that, "People err, not knowing God's word and His power" (Matthew 22:29).
One TruthThere is One Truth which is the truth of God. There are not many truths, just as there are not many true gods. Any contradiction of the written word of God is a lie, is not the truth, and is not of God. Anything contrary to the written Word of God is not of God and not from God. Any true prophecy can be proven in the written Word of God. True prophecy from God and will always align with the written word of God. Any doctrine contrary to the word of God is false doctrine and not to be listened to, or brought into your house or into your life in any way (2 John 1:9-11). God says that we are to taste not, touch not, and handle not the false doctrines of men (Colossians 2:21). No one can have a "new revelation from God" that differs from the existing Word of God. There is only one revelation from God, given to all mankind, who is Jesus Christ, sent to earth to be the Saviour of the world; and, that by believing in Him all the people of this world could receive the love of God and everlasting life. There are no lies in truth, not one. Lies have nothing to do with God. Liars have nothing to do with God, because liars are contrary to sound doctrine (1 Timothy 1:10). "Saying" you are a Christian, a believer, does not mean that you are (Revelation 2:2). In the end, satan and all enemies of God, all liars, will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone for all eternity (Revelation 21:8; John 8:44; 1 John 2:22).
GodThere is only One God, and there is none else.
We must believe that God is God.
Do not be deceived, people are not gods. Mankind is not God, not little gods, not gods of any kind. Mankind is not the God or any type of gods, man will never be God nor any type of gods, there is only one God.
One God"ONE God" is a foundational truth of God. The true living Lord Jehovah God Almighty is ONE God. God, His name is ONE.
There is ONE God and there is none other but He (Mark 12:32).
We are all saved by ONE God, the same ONE God justifies us all by His grace through faith (Romans 3:30). There is only One God who saves, and there is none else.
God the Father and Son are ONE
Jesus Christ and God the Father are One God.
Father, Son and Holy Ghost are ONEThere are not multiple gods reigning in Heaven. Multiple gods did not create the universe. God is not three gods. God is ONE God. Scripture supports that the Father, the Word (who is Jesus the Son of God) and the Holy Ghost - THESE THREE ARE ONE God - 1 John 5:7. God tells us all through His written word that there are three in Heaven, AND these three are ONE. These three are one (not any three, and not all threes in the bible, only THESE THREE ARE ONE God): God the Father, God the Holy Ghost, and God the Son (Word).
How can three be ONE God? Because the ONE is God. With God all things are possible. God is limitless. God is boundless. God is infinite. God is eternal. God can be whoever and whatever He is because He is God. Many, many people have issue with the truth that God is One in three - Father, Son and Holy Ghost, because they attach their own human limitations to God. Because they cannot understand it with their finite minds, then it cannot be possible. We are never to place limits on who God is or what God can do. We must remember is that God is not man, God is without the limitations attached to man, God can do and be whatever He desires, because HE IS GOD. With men it is impossible, but not with God, because with God all things are possible - Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27. There is One LORD God.
To come to the knowledge of truth, of the truth of God, we must know that God's ways are not our ways, and God's ways are past finding out - Romans 11:33.
Believing in God - faith in God - is believing that God is all who He says that He is in His Word. Believing in only part of who God says that He is - is partial faith and partial faith is unbelief.
Jesus ChristThere is only One Lord God. Jesus Christ is Lord - Philippians 2:11. Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world - Matthew 1:21; John 4:42. Jesus Christ came from the Father in Heaven to earth, to be born like man in the flesh - 1 John 4:2-3; 2 John 1:7), so that He could destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), sacrifice His life once for all the sins of all mankind (Hebrews 10:10, 12), and bring salvation to everyone who believes in Him (John 3:16; Matthew 1:21). Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (John 1:4; 3:16, 18), sent by God (John 3:2; 8:42; 13:3; 16:27, 30) from Heaven to earth, to save all mankind from sin and death (1 John 4:9). Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost, to a virgin, God manifest in the flesh. Jesus preached in the world, was believed on in the world, and was received up into glory (1 Timothy 3:16). Jesus came down from Heaven from God, left His riches entered poverty, so that He might destroy the works of the devil, and save all people in all the world from sin and death (1 John 3:8; Romans 8:2). We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 3:26). All who believe on the name of Christ Jesus will be saved (John 3:16-18). Through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved (Acts 15:11, 16:31). There is no other name, except Jesus, by which we are saved (Acts 4:10-12). The only way to God the Father is through faith in Christ Jesus for the salvation of your soul (John 14:6). The will of God is for all people of the world to obtain His salvation through His Son Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:9). Jesus Christ sets us free from all sin, we can overcome all sin, because Christ overcame the whole world of sin (John 8:36, 16:33). We are called into fellowship, receive atonement and are reconciled to God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:11; 1 Corinthians 1:9; 2 Corinthians 5:18). No one is justified by works, only by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 2:16). We become the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).
The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). We are to watch, wait, and pray for the return of Christ Jesus, because our home is in Heaven not on this earth - Philippians 3:20-21.
Holy GhostThe Great Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of truth, is who teaches us and guides us to the truth of God and home to God.
The Holy Spirit of God is God. There is only One Spirit of Truth, which proceeds from the Father and who is One in God.
CreationGod is the Creator. God created all things, all things were created by Him. God created the heavens and the earth and all in the earth and heavens, including man and woman, within 6 days approximately 6,000 years ago. There can is only One True Living God and only one Creator of all things, and all things exist by Him (Colossians 1:7).
ManMan was created in the likeness, image of God. Man was created by God for God. Man didn't create God, but God created man. Man was formed by God from the dirt God created when He made the earth. Man did not come out from God, but was formed from the dirt of the earth.
Man was created for God's pleasure, by the will of God, for God. Man was created out of love, God's love, for the purpose of sharing God's love. Because of God's love, He gave man free will to choose. Man was created to live forever in God's love, but man chose a different path. Man turned to lies from truth. Man turned from God to satan. Man chose to believe another, instead of believing the truth of God. By trusting in the lies of the devil, over the truth of God, man chose death over life, man chose sin over righteousness, man chose to believe the lives of satan over the truth of God, and created a chasm, a separation between man and God. Man chose want over need. Man chose desire over substance. Man chose temporary pleasure over eternal peace. By man choosing a temporary solution for a permanent situation, the first man, Adam, laid out a the course for all humanity. When Adam forsake, rejected the truth of God, and chose to believe in the lies of the devil, he injected mankind with sin, infusing into the soul of humanity eternal death, instead of eternal life.
By the sin of one man, the first man, Adam, sin entered into this world, and so death passed to all humanity, because of Adam, all mankind have sin.
SinSin is not the purpose of mankind. Sin was conceived into this world by one man, Adam, the first man God created. Forsaking the truth of God is sin, because it is lusting after the lie of another. As with Adam in the garden of Eden, when he chose to believe a lie instead of believing in the truth of God, Adam lusted after another, and when lust is conceived - or acted upon - it brings forth sin, and the end of sin is death (James 1:15). The wages - the end - of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
Because Adam committed sin against God, and brought sin into his life, his sin is passed on to all mankind, therefore, we have all sinned and fell short of the Glory of God.
Redemption from sin and its promised death is available to all people who come to God by faith in His truth and faith in Christ Jesus to salvation.
SalvationGod saves. Only God saves, none else. There is only One God and there is only One salvation, the salvation of God. The source of salvation is God. God alone saves. The salvation of God has always been received from God and given by God to all who believe He is God, and through faith that He alone can save them.
By grace we are saved. We are all saved the exact same way, by the Grace of God we are saved, nothing less and nothing more (Ephesians 2:5). God Himself finished all the works required for our salvation (John 19:30). All we must do is believe in Him and accept His free gift of salvation through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus the living Lord and Saviour. The salvation of God saves our mortal flesh from sin and our immortal soul from death. By grace through faith, we receive the salvation of God, which grants us inheritance into the Kingdom of God for all eternity. For more information see - SALVATION
Body of ChristAll faithful believers of Christ Jesus, who receive the salvation of God by grace through faith, are the living Body of Christ. All believers are equal in the Body of Christ, no one is better than the other (Romans 12:1-5).
There is only One salvation, One Body of Christ, One faith, One Lord, One baptism, One God and Father of all (1 Corinthians 10:17; 12:13, 20; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 3:15).
Blood Atonement
Atonement is through salvation by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, by the grace of God. We are accepted to God the Father through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus shed His blood for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28). Jesus was sent to earth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood (Romans 3:25). The blood Jesus shed on His cross was necessary for the remission of our sins, because without the shedding of blood there is no remission - Hebrews 9:22.
AscensionThe ascension of Jesus into Heavenly Glory, took place 40 days after Christ rose bodily from His grave. The ascension into Heaven of Jesus was fulfillment of Scripture (Psalm 68:18) and the will of God (John 6:38).
We know by His work on the cross, Jesus led captivity captive. The purpose of God coming down from Heaven, being manifested in the flesh, was to destroy the works of the devil (1 Timothy 3:16).
The same Jesus who descended to the lower parts of this earth, who came down from Heaven to Earth, to be the Saviour of the world, who took on the flesh and body of man, after He finished His Father's work, then He ascended up to Heaven.
Jesus Christ alone ascended up to Heaven, no other. Jesus Christ ascended up to Heaven to reign forever with God the Father.
Jesus ascended up to Heaven, to eternally sit on the right hand side of God the Father, His Father and my Father, where He will reign forevermore.
Where is Christ Jesus today? Jesus is in Heaven itself, appearing before God the Father, making intercession for us, the Mediator between mankind and God the Father, AND Jesus abides in the hearts of all believers.
The Lord's SupperThe last supper that Jesus Christ had with His twelve chosen disciples is remembered today by Christians all over this world. The Lord's Supper is communion with Jesus, remembering His flesh and His blood that He sacrificed for us, on His cross, when He sacrificed His life for the salvation of the world. As believers we participate in ceremony, remembering our Lord God, by taking of bread and drink, remembering His body which was sacrificed so that we might receive everlasting life, and by drink, His blood that was shed for the remission of our sins. The Lord's Supper is a Holy remembrance of the sacrifice and death of our King Jesus, and faith in His death to redeem us of all our sins, faith in His resurrection, and faith in our hope of salvation.
BaptismGod saves. Baptism does not save people, God saves. We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God. After we are saved, we are asked by God to profess our faith to others. One way believers profess their faith and tell others that they have received the salvation of God is through a public display of baptism. The act of baptism does not save anyone from sin and death, because God saves us by His grace alone. We are saved by grace, by the grace of God we are saved (Ephesians 2:5).
Baptism is our outward commitment to God, pledging our life is surrendered forever to follow and serve God, in front of God and the whole world. Baptism is acknowledging outward that our trust and faith is in the One True Living God and in His salvation of our souls.
Submersion in water, symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection to new life of Christ Jesus. Through faith to salvation, because of the living sacrifice of Christ Jesus, we too have been raised from death to new life. (Colossians 2:12).
All believers are taught to perform this type of public display of their faith after they have received the salvation of God. Confession of your salvation is required by God.
Baptism is an outward statement of our faith in Christ Jesus to salvation by the grace of God through faith. Baptism is one way believers proclaim Jesus Christ is their Lord and their Saviour. Baptism cannot save anyone, because salvation belongs to God alone, only God saves, none else or nothing else. The salvation of God is received by faith, not baptism. You do not have to be baptized to receive the gift of God, eternal salvation. Remember the thief on the cross, who was crucified next to Jesus, he was not baptized and he died that day on his cross, but before he died he placed his faith in Christ Jesus to salvation, and Jesus Himself told the thief that day he would be with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven (Luke 23:42-43).
HeavenFor believers, this earth is not our true home, because our home is in Heaven with God.
God is in His Kingdom of Heaven, were all the saints, the saved in Christ will go, if we remain in the faith. Jesus left this earth shortly after His resurrection and ascended up to Heaven; but, before He left, He promised to return one day soon for His own, all believers. Halleluiah!! Jesus is coming soon for me!!
All believers of God, know that Heaven is real and that one day soon, we will go there and forever be with our LORD. God the Father is in Heaven, the throne of God is in Heaven (Psalm 11:4; Ecclesiastes 5:2; Matthew 5:16, 45, 48, 6:1). And call no man your Father upon the earth: for One is your Father, which is in Heaven (Matthew 23:9). Jesus Christ, your Master, the Son of God, the LORD, the Saviour of the world is in Heaven (John 3:13; Ephesians 6:9; Philippians 3:20). Repent! Because the Kingdom Heaven is at hand (Matthew 3:2). HellThe wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God (Psalm 9:17). The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath (Proverbs 15:24). Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied (Proverbs 27:20). The angels that sinned against God, were cast into hell (2 Peter 2:4). God will judge all people, even the dead in hell (Revelation 20:13). Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, has the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18). In the end, all the enemies of God will be cast into the lake of fire forever (Revelation 20:10, 14-15). For more information please see - HELL
Eternal DeathGod promises that every person born will die once in his flesh on this earth (Hebrews 9:27), but that is not the end of man's existence. Every human being is created by God and given a spirit, a soul, and body. Our spirit and soul are eternal. Our earthly body is flesh and bones and cannot live forever. If we accept the grace of God to save us and receive His free gift of eternal salvation, we are given a new spirit and a renewed soul through Christ, and when we are resurrected we will be given a new heavenly body. Every human being exists in eternity, where we exist is our choice. Every human being has the same choice of their own eternity, which is eternity spent with God (eternal life) or eternity spend without God (eternal death). God gives everyone the same choice, eternal life or eternal death, God says "CHOOSE LIFE!!". (Deuteronomy 30:19). If we choose to believe in God and His Word and accept His salvation on His terms, then we will receive everlasting life, eternal life. By faith in Jesus for salvation, when we die we will pass from this life to a new life with God. If we choose NOT to believe in God, reject the truth of God and His Word, refuse His free gift of salvation on His terms, then we will receive damnation, NOT life, and will not be saved from the second death. Because of our choice to refuse to have faith in Christ Jesus for our salvation, when we die we will be eternally separated from God, never see God, our name will not be found in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:15) and we will have cast ourselves into the lake of fire for all eternity (Revelation 21:8). Eternal death, the second death, is separation away from God for all eternity. Eternal death is final, there is no reprieve, there is no exit, there is no escape, there is no end, there is no hope. Eternal death is death without end. Eternal death is dying forever. Where the worm dieth not. Eternal death is eternal separation from God, free from God, free from love, and free from any hope of God, free of any light, free of any food, free of any drink, free of any company, and free of any hope. Eternal death is eternal darkness, eternal solitude, eternal pain, eternal sorrow, eternal silence, eternal emptiness, eternal fire and brimstone, eternal torment, eternal isolation, eternal hunger, eternal thirst, and eternal hell. Eternal death is eternal confinement, no freedom, no release, no escape, no end. Eternal death is reserved for all the enemies of God, all people who rejected God while on His earth, all people who refused to accept and abide in His salvation, all people who chose not to abide in the faith of Christ Jesus. Anyone who rejects God, rejects Christ Jesus is the enemy of God. Anyone who refuses the salvation of God is the enemy of God. Eternal death is eternal sorrow, the pain of agony because of your eternal death will cause eternal weeping, wailing, and eternal gnashing of teeth. Eternal death is eternal memories of what is lost, memories of people who you loved, memories of laughter and joy, eternal remembrance of what you might have had, remembering all the times you rejected God, told Him off, cursed Him, rejected His love, rejected His salvation, you will remember over and over for all eternity all the times you heard the gospel of Christ but refused Him, all the times you chose sin for a season instead of life for eternity. Eternal death is eternal.

Eternal lifeGod promises that we will die once in our fleshly bodies, and after this His judgment (Hebrews 9:27). If we have believed and accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour, if we believed Jesus can and will save our soul from sin and death, then we can receive the salvation of God, the gift of God, which is everlasting life, by the grace of God through faith in His Son (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8). Through the salvation of God, when we die, we will pass from death to life in Heaven (John 5:24), where we will be forever with our LORD God (2 Corinthians 5:8).

AntichristAnyone against Jesus Christ is an anti-Christ. There are many antichrists in this world today, and there will be the appearance of one particular antichrist in the last days, who will try and rule this world.
An antichrist is a liar. An antichrist is anyone who denies the Lordship of Christ Jesus, who denies the gospel of Christ Jesus, and who denies that Jesus is the Christ and the only begotten Son of God.
Denying the truth of God, that Jesus is the Christ and is the Son of God is unacceptable to God the Father, and voids acceptance by God, and entrance into the Kingdom of God, because we are all the children of God by faith in His Son, there is no other way to God the Father, except through Christ Jesus.
Second Coming of Christ Jesus
MillenniumAt some point in the near future, Christ will return to earth and reign with His saints for 1,000 years, this is called the millennium.

Eternal Kingdom of GodThe eternal Kingdom of God is the Kingdom of Christ, the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:11), the Kingdom of Heaven, for there is only One God and One Kingdom of God.
New Heaven and New earth
Promise of inheritance for all faithful believers
Why don't all people believe the foundational truth of God? God gives every person a choice, a choice to follow Him or follow death. God asks that we choose Him, that we choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19). We all reap what we sow (Galatians 6:8; Romans 6:23). If we follow God we will reap eternal life, but if we follow sin, we are without God on this planet and we will be without God in the life to come (Matthew 12:32). As there are many different people in this world, there are many different reasons why they do not believe in the foundational truth of God. Here, we will list a few of them.
They harden their heartsContinually, rejecting the voice of God, rejecting the truth of God results in a condition known as hardening of the heart. All people are given same opportunity to receive the truth of God, and to accept His salvation. All people are given the measure of faith to hear the truth of God, but many people resist the voice of God, and reject His truth, and remain lost in their sin.
Through sin, many people are deceived by a lie into accepting the spirit of error, over the spirit of truth.
Many people believe that they can have faith in God and receive the salvation of God, their own way. Many people believe and have faith that because they live good that they will enter the gates of Heaven when they die. Many people believe that because they say that they are saved, that they are. All these people are truly lost, because they refuse to believe the truth of Christ Jesus. All these people refuse to receive the love of the truth of God, the truth written in the Word of God as the only way to the salvation of God by faith in His grace and obedience to His will.
SlothfulnessMany people today take the easy way out, and would rather someone else tell them what to believe, they are lazy and don't really care.
The devil absolutely loves slothful people, because there is no work for him to do, because these people have given up, they are lazy and don't put up any resistance, and all he has to do is pick them out and take them captive (2 Timothy 2:26). There is no resistance from the slothful person toward the devil. By the slothful lackadaisical attitude of these people they have chosen for themselves to slide into eternal death.
FearSome people feel threatened, or are in fear of physical harm, if they do not conform to the beliefs of others.
Most people have felt fear sometime in their lives. We must be careful not to place our trust in men, over the promises of God. God said if we place our trust in Him we will be safe. Fear of the unknown can be very powerful, but we must remember that we are safe in the LORD no matter what happens to us on the outside. Our flesh is temporary, but our soul is eternal. Don't believe in the things that man might do to you, but believe in what God can and will do.
Don't let fear steal your eternal salvation. God is greater than anyone. God has power over all things, not men. In the United States, we live in freedom of religion, we are able to believe in God, worship God, believe in the truth of God, share the truth of God, teach the Word of God, live without fear of being killed, or worse. It is hard for us to comprehend the persecution, tribulation, pain and suffering around the world today, the fear that some people have, when it comes to promoting the truth of God. We must hold them fast in our prayers, pray that they can be delivered and serve the One True Living God without any fear.
Cares of the worldBusy, busy, busy, so many people are too busy for God, or at least that is their excuse. If we let it, our life will run us, instead of us letting God run our life.
God reminds us in His word, that no one on earth knows when Jesus will return, and He will return one day very soon for His own, because He promised. There will be many good people who are caught unawares at His return, because they are caught up in the cares of their life.
Please, don't let the cares of your life, separate you from eternal life with God.
Love of money
The love of money has ruined the life of a multitude of people. The love of money easily turns into idolatry, and no idolaters will enter Heaven. Money is nothing. You brought nothing into this world and you will take nothing from this world with you when you die. Only spiritual things will pass with you from this life into the next. Our priorities cannot be money, our priorities must be Christ.
Disobedience
Do NOT be deceive, the children of disobedience will receive the wrath of God, eternal damnation (Ephesians 5:6). You must obey God in this life, in order to obey Him in the next. If you refuse to obey God, then you chose damnation for yourself (Romans 13:2).
SinSin separates anyone from God.
Willful sin, continual sin, pursuing sin, living in sin, ends in unbelief, which ends in eternal death, because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). God is not mocked, you will reap what you sow, either eternal life for living in righteousness, or eternal death for living in sin (Galatians 6:7-8; John 5:29). Sin darkens the heart and blinds the heart from the things of God (Ephesians 4:18); and, if not repented of, sin can separate you from God for all eternity, because the end of sin is death (Romans 6:20-21, 23).
Fall from their steadfastness
The Word of God warns believers not to fall from their own stedfastness in the faith. Believers are given warnings, warning that even the very elect of God, His children can fall back into sin, fall away from God, let go of their first love. No one is immune from falling away from God, falling away from the salvation of God. Remaining in Christ, pursuing Christ, fellowship with Christ, abiding in Christ, putting on Christ every day will keep us in the love of God.
Not all Israel are IsraelFor they are not all Israel, which are of Israel (Romans 9:6). Calling yourself a "Christian" does NOT make you a "Christian". Calling yourself a "believer" does not make you one. Saying you are saved does not necessarily mean you are saved, because salvation is a condition of the heart, performed by the operation of God inside of us, when we through faith in Christ Jesus receive His free gift of salvation by His grace. Galatians 3:26 Not all people who say that they are Christians, are Christians. Not all people who profess to know God, do (Titus 1:16). In order to know God, God must know us, and God knows us only if we know Christ, through salvation by faith in His Grace - Galatians 3:26. If the Spirit of truth dwells in us, then we know God (John 14:17). Without the indwelling of the Spirit, you are without God. Anyone who perverts the truth of God, rejects and turns from the truth of God, is defiled and unbelieving (Titus 1:14-16). Many people who have professed to be Christians will not enter the Kingdom of God at their death, because they have refused to receive the truth of God. Many of these people will protest and claim to be "good people", claim to be "Christians", but God will say to them, "Depart from Me, I do not know you" - Matthew 7:21-23.
There is more foundational truth that can be found in the Word of God. The foundational truth of God is from God and therefore will always align with the Word of God. ??? Not sure where to go to from here, may we suggest. . . |
