Grace

This is a Bible study on Grace.     Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 1 Corinthians 1:4

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

Grace is the gift of God by Jesus Christ.  By grace we are all saved through faith.  Only God saves.  We are saved by the grace of God alone.

Facts of the Grace of GOD

  • One grace of God

  • God is the source of all grace.

  • The grace of God belongs to God.

  • The grace of God is given.

  • The grace of God is given by Christ Jesus.

  • The grace of God is received by faith in Christ Jesus.

  • The grace of God given has a purpose

  • The grace of God grows and multiplies

  • The grace of God is to be shared

  • One grace

The grace of God is one grace.

There is but one God and there is but one grace of God.   God is more and His grace is more, but they are still one God and one grace.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  James 1:17

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.  Psalm 84:11

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:16

The grace of God the Father and the grace of the Lord Christ Jesus and the grace of the Holy Ghost is the one same grace of God.

There is one Lord, one faith, one salvation, one glory, one kingdom, and one throne of grace.

  • God is the source of ALL grace

God is the author, the source, the giver, the cause of all grace.

God is the source of all of the grace of God.  The grace of God is not separate from God.  The grace of God is not apart from God.  No one can have the grace of God apart from God.

The grace of God is given to mankind by God Himself, no other.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  1 Peter 5:10

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  James 1:17

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, Romans 15:15

Because God is the source of all grace His grace is all sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).

  • The grace of God belongs to God.

All grace belongs to God as He is the God of all grace.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  1 Peter 5:10

Only the one who owns grace can give grace.  The grace of God is only given to us by God because the grace of God belongs to God.  No one else owns the grace of God except God.

God is the sole proprietor of His grace.  No one can receive the grace of God from anyone other than God.   The grace of God is from God, none else (1 Timothy 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:2, Titus 1:4; 2 John 1:3).

Do not be deceived.  The grace of God cannot be given to you by anyone other than God.  We are to share the grace we are given by God, showing others how to partake in the grace of God, but we cannot give anyone the grace of God, as the grace of God comes from God alone, none else.

  • The grace of God calls you.

The grace of God calls every living person to God.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,  Galatians 1:15

God desires you to be where he created you to be which is with Him - right now - today and for all eternity (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).

  • The grace of God is given.

The grace of God is a gift from God.  The grace of God is a free gift from God.

The grace of God is given to people.  No on can earn the grace of God as it is unmerited favor - we cannot earn grace, we will never be worthy of God's grace, we could never purchase grace by any works or by any means.

God chose to give us His grace even though we would never or could never deserve His grace.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.  Ephesians 4:7

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,  Romans 15:15

The grace of God is given freely to all who come to Him.  No one can earn the grace of God because He gives His grace to all.

  • The grace of God is all sufficient

The grace of God is ALL sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9:8

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.  1 Timothy 1:14

Nothing can be added to the grace of God.  The grace of God is ALL sufficient, full and complete.

The grace of God is complete and able to do all that God has for it to do.

There is no power but the power of God. God holds all the power.  No one is greater than God.  God is able to supply all our needs, completely by Himself.

Do not be deceived, if you add to grace you have voided grace, as grace is not the grace of God unless it is His grace alone (Galatians 5:4).

  • The grace of God is given by Christ Jesus.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;  1 Corinthians 1:4

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  John 1:17

There grace of God is given to us by Christ Jesus.

  • The grace of God is received by faith in Christ Jesus.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:  Romans 1:5

We receive the grace of God by faith in Jesus.  There is no other way to receive the gifts of God except through His Son Christ Jesus.  The path to God's grace is the perfect plan of God.  God purposed us to go through Jesus to receive everything from God.

  • The grace of God given has a purpose

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:  Ephesians 3:8, 11

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2 Timothy 1:9

Everything that God gifts to us has a purpose.  The grace of God given to us has a purpose - a divine purpose in God and a divine purpose in us.

The gift of grace is multi-faceted, manifold, and multi-purposed.

Faith - We are given the grace of God to receive faith from God (Romans 12:3).  We are all given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) to accept the gift of grace.  By the faith we are given from God we have access to the gift of grace (Romans 5:2).  Grace and faith are both gifted to us by God.

Forgiveness - We are given the grace of God to receive forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 1:7)

Salvation - We are given the grace of God in order so that we can receive God into our lives by receiving His eternal salvation (Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:5, 8; Titus 2:11).

Justification - We are given the grace of God in order to be justified (Romans 3:24; Titus 3:7).

Endurance - We are given the grace of God so that we can endure what we must endure as the children of God (Acts 20:32).

Help - We are given the grace of God to help us (Hebrews 4:16).

Testify the gospel - We are given the grace of God so that we can testify the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24).

Reconciled - We are given the grace of God so that we can know God (Ephesians 1:6).

Glory - We are given the grace of God for the glory of God (2 Thessalonians 1:12; 2 Corinthians 4:15).

Riches - We are given the grace of God for the riches of God, the wonder of God (Ephesians 1:7, 2:7).

Relationship - We are given the grace of God so we can have a relationship with God as His own children - today and in the world to come.

Power - We are given the grace of God to receive the power of God to fulfill our service to God (Acts 14:3, 26; Hebrews 12:28; 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12).

Praise - We are given the grace of God to the praise and to the glory of God (Ephesians 1:6; Colossians 3:16).

Consolation and Hope - We are given the grace of God to give us hope (2 Thessalonians 2:16).

Share with others - We are given the grace of God so we can testify to others (1 Peter 4:10).

  • The grace of God grows and multiplies

We serve a living God and receive a living grace.  The grace of God we receive is manifold (many fold) and is purposed in us to increase.

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.  2 Corinthians 8:7

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  2 Peter 1:2

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.  2 Peter 3:18

He giveth more grace (James 4:6).  As long as we continue in the grace of God, grace will increase more and more.  We must abide in Christ to abound in grace, as apart from Christ there is no grace.

  • The grace of God is to be shared

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  1 Peter 4:10

Every gift that God gives to us is meant to be given away, meant to be shared with others.  God gifts us His love and we are to share His love with the world.  God gifts us His salvation and we are to share our testimony with others.  God blesses us to be a blessing to others.

What is grace?

There are many definitions in the dictionary for grace:

  • unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification
  • a virtue coming from God
  • a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace
  • approval, favor, mercy, pardon, special favor or privilege
  • disposition to or an act or clemency; reprieve
  • charming or attractive trait or characteristic
  • a short prayer at a meal asking a blessing or giving thanks
  • sense of propriety or right
  • quality or state of being considerate or thoughtful

We can say that grace is a virtue coming from God and is unmerited divine assistance.

And yes, grace is a blessing we say before a meal thanking God, but it is the Grace of God that we want to discuss today.

What is the grace of GOD?

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

Only by the grace of God can we see eternal life.  If it wasn't for the grace of God we would be condemned to damnation because of our sins, because we know through the word of God that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

Paul preached the gospel of the grace of God

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24

Jesus said His grace is sufficient for us

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Grace is a gift from God

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Ephesians 3:7

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7

The grace of God is exceedingly abundant

How thankful we should be every day that the grace of God is exceedingly abundant toward us all.

Paul tells just how exceeding abundant the grace of God was toward him, to forgive his sins, because he was the world's worst blasphemer and persecutor of believers in his day, but through the grace of God, even he was forgiven!

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:12-15

Paul goes on to say that even he - by the grace of God through belief in Jesus Christ - obtained salvation.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 1 Timothy 1:16

That since God didn't give up on Paul, seeing Paul do all the bad things he did to believers, Jesus suffered long seeing what Paul was doing to His followers, that Jesus never gave up on Paul.

Jesus instead used Paul as a pattern, an example to other unbelievers that they too - no matter what they had done in the past - could also, like Paul did, receive saving grace through belief in Jesus and receive forgiveness of their sins and everlasting life.

No matter what sins we have committed in the past - Jesus by the grace of God can save us from all our sins and release us from the wrath of God, eternal damnation.  Jesus can save anyone.

Paul blasphemed God - Have you blasphemed God?

Paul persecuted and injured God's believers - Have you made fun of believers? Hurt believers of God?

God says that He has enough grace to forgive you too - no matter what you have done in the past.

I didn't deserve the grace of God, I didn't deserve salvation, but God gave it to me, because I believe and follow His Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  God is waiting to give to you His Grace today.

This is the Grace of God - God to forgive those who do not deserve to receive forgiveness.

For God so loved the world, that he have his only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The grace of God is His free gift of salvation to all who believe on His Son, Jesus Christ.

God didn't have to give us His only begotten Son, but He did.

By the grace of God we receive salvation though Jesus Christ - His Son.  There was no other way for us to be redeemed in the sight of God.

There was no other way for the world to be cleansed from sin and receive entrance into the kingdom of God, except by the ultimate sacrifice, the selfless sacrifice of the one without sin, the crucifixion of God's only begotten Son - Jesus.

By the Grace of God - these are very powerful words and have more meaning than we first think.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9

Because if it was not for the grace of God, we would not have salvation and entrance into the kingdom of God, through the sacrifice, the blood shed by God's only begotten Son, Jesus.

By grace we are saved through faith.  These words mean so much.

All people are saved the exact same way, by the grace of God through faith in God.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

The grace of God made a way out of sin, a way out of eternal separation from God and His Kingdom, made a way for us to escape sin and death in this life and in the life to come.

The grace of God sets us free from bondage to sin and the sentence of death through the gift of God, His eternal salvation, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Who can receive GOD's grace?

All people can receive God's grace

Whosoever believes in the Son of God Christ Jesus as Lord of their life can receive God's grace.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

All people of the world can receive God's grace through faith in Him.

Believers in Christ Jesus receive grace.

Every member of the body of Christ, according to the measure of the gift of Christ everyone of us - believers are given grace.

Those who are called by God and accept Him as ruler of their lives.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:4-7

Grace and Faith are given to all mankind.

Grace is given to all people.  We are all granted and given a portion of God's grace - sufficient grace - to do all that God asks us to do.

Faith is given to all people.  We are all gifted with a measure of faith to accept the grace of God.  No one is not given faith to receive the grace of God.

We are all given by God the perfect amount of faith to receive His grace.

This is the plan of God and the will of God to use the faith that He gives us to accept the grace He gives to us.

How do we receive GOD's grace?

The grace of God is received through Jesus Christ

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:24

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Romans 5:15

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 1 Corinthians 1:4

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 2 John 1:3

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; Revelation 1:4

By faith we have access to grace

By the grace of God we are saved through faith in God; and through this saving faith in God we receive God's grace.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:12

We have access by faith into grace where we stand in hope of the glory of God.

For obedience to the faith

Because of our obedience to faith of answering the call of God to salvation we have received grace.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: Romans 1:5

God gives grace to them that walk uprightly

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. Proverbs 3:33-34

You cannot receive grace by your own works.

The grace of God is a gift from God and cannot be earned by our works.  If grace could be bought by our own works, there would not be a need for faith in God.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:6

By the effectual working of God's power

The grace of God is the gift of God, from God alone, given to us by the effectual working of God's power alone.

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Ephesians 3:7

Submit yourself to God be humble

By answering the call of God and submitting ourselves to God, through faith in God, we receive God's free gift of salvation, by His grace.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:6-7

Through the knowledge of God and Jesus

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4

Why isn't grace received by works?

Grace belongs to God.  God gives His grace.  The grace of God is gifted to us from God alone.  God alone gives grace.  Grace cannot be earned by us in anyway.

Romans 11 explains that if the grace of God could be earned, then it would not be grace.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:6

People err if they believe that they receive the grace of God by something that they have done, because grace that is earned is not grace.  The grace of God cannot be earned by us, because it is given by God.

The grace of God is all from God, we do not have any part of creating grace or giving grace, it is all from God Himself.

God is able - all by Himself - to give us His grace.  God needs nothing from us to give us His grace.

The plan of God, the will of God, is that we receive His grace all from Him.  We are dependent on God, but God is not dependent on us.  We are dependent on God for His grace.  God is the only source of His grace.

God the Son, Jesus is the source of all the grace of God.  Grace is given to us by God through Christ Jesus, we receive the grace of God by no other way, except through Christ Jesus, because this is God's plan, the will of God.  There is only one Grace of God given by God.

The will of God is for all of us to receive His grace through His Son, Christ Jesus.  We all receive the grace of God the exact same way, through His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus.

So, we can answer the question, Why isn't grace received by works? simply, because Grace is by God alone, through God alone, and Grace by God is the plan of God, the Holy will of God, that no man can change.

What does the Grace of GOD give us?

Salvation

Salvation is received the exact same way by all people, which is by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus we are saved.

We are saved by the grace of God aloneGod is sufficient to save us all by Himself. God is able to save us all by Himself.  God needs nothing from us to save us.  God save us all by Himself.

No human being has ever saved themselves by their own efforts.  Works cannot save anyone, because God said so.

The grace of God plus nothing equals salvation.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:11

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. Acts 20:32

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, Romans 4:16

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:17

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:11-14

Faith by God's grace

We are all saved the same way, through faith in God, which is by the grace of God.

We are saved only by the grace of God, nothing else, through faith in God.  Salvation is the gift of God, that we cannot earn or work for to gain.

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Ephesians 2:5

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8

Grace plus nothing equals salvation.  The grace of God alone saves every human being that has ever been saved.  We are all saved the exact same way.

Faith does not save, because God saves, because we are saved by grace

The Holy Scriptures say we are saved by grace through faith, through faith, not by faith alone.

God's grace is the source of salvation, not faith.  Faith is the platform that we stand on that carries us to Heaven, but the grace of God is the source, the engine, that enables the platform of faith to move.

All human beings since the beginning of time have been saved the exact same way, which is by the Grace of God.

God does not change, His salvation remains the same, yesterday, today and forever.  We have been saved by the grace of God, and we will continue to be saved by the grace of God.

By the grace of God we are given the measure of faith to believe in God to the salvation of our souls (Romans 12:3).

Nothing we have alone can save us, because we are saved by grace through faith, both of which are given, gifted to us, by God alone.

We have nothing by ourselves that can save us from sin and death.  No amount of works we do can ever save us, because God alone saves.

God gives us grace and God gives us faith, so that we can be saved.  All we are and hope to be is from God, we are nothing without Him, we have nothing without Him.  Our sufficiency is of God, not of ourselves.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 2 Corinthians 3:5

Justified by God's Grace

Through faith in God, by the grace of God, God gives us salvation.  We are justified to God by God's grace, and are made heirs according to God's promise of eternal life.  We are freely justified by God's grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ.

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:7

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:24

Through Grace we receive good hope

Believers have the blessed hope of eternal life through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,  Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Grace made us accepted in the beloved, Jesus

According to the riches of His grace, He has made us accepted in the beloved.

Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 1:2-7

We are called by the grace of God

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, Galatians 1:15

We are saved through the calling of God.  We may hear someone preach God's word to us, but that person is not the one calling us to salvation.

God calls each of us to Him.  We are called by God's grace to obtain salvation.  And we all have a choice when we hear God calling, either to accept Him or reject Him.

Have you heard God call you?  Have you accepted Him?

For more information see - SALVATION

Belief in Jesus Christ through Grace

And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:  For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ. Acts 18:27-28

Freedom from Sin

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14

Believers are under God's grace, sin does not have rule over our lives anymore.  Halleluiah!! Praise God!!

Different Gifts

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:5-8

Everything we are is from the grace of God

We are saved by the grace of God through faith.  The grace that saved us made us the children of God.  All we are and all we hope to be we owe to the grace of God.

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10

The grace of God, saves us from sin and death, is a miracle that we do not deserve, but is gifted to us from the Creator, who loves us in spite of who we are.

We are reminded not to think we are more than we are.  We are nothing without the saving grace of God.  Everything we are, everything we have and hope to have we owe to God.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

Believers may abound to every good work

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9:8

God's kindness

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7

Grace to help in time of need

Jesus the Son of God is all believer's great High Priest who we can go to for help.

Jesus feels and understands our sufferings, He knows because He was in all points tempted just like we are.  There is no temptation that we have today, that He doesn't know about firsthand.  Unlike us, Jesus never yielded to temptation, Jesus was without sin.  Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is sin.

Believers are to boldly go to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in any time of need.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16

Promise of more grace yet to come to believers

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Peter 1:13

Lot

And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:  Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: Genesis 19:18-19

Many more

Many more people found grace in the eyes of the Lord throughout the course of their lives.  Not every person alive or that has lived is mentioned in the Word of God.  The Word of God is complete as to the plan of God for mankind, as it is God's revelation of Himself to mankind.  It would be impossible for the Bible to contain everything.  The Scriptures tell us regarding the wondrous works of Jesus that the whole would could not contain the volumes of books that would be necessary.  Although God left nothing out of His word for us, for the purpose of us learning about Him and coming to Him and fulfilling the purpose He has for each of our lives.

All believers

All believers found and find grace in the eyes of the Lord.  All believers - all people who by the grace of God through faith receive His gift of salvation - past, present and future - find grace in the eyes of the Lord.

All who answered God's call of grace have found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

God desires you to be where He created you to be which is with Him - today and for all eternity.

All of God, all of His angels and all the host of heaven rejoice when each and every person comes to God (Luke 15:10).  The host of heaven rejoice when a person is saved.  God delights in our decision to make Him our Lord and Saviour.  God delights when we turn from sin and turn to Him.  God delights when we seek His will in our lives.  The eyes of the Lord are always on us delighting in our lives serving Him, delighting in our love toward others and delighting in our loving God today and always.

Multitudes of people have found grace in the eyes of the Lord.  You can find grace in the eyes of God through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus to salvation.  All who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Find grace today, surrender to the call of Grace, ask Jesus into your heart today.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.  Jeremiah 17:14

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.  Luke 15:10

Who was given the grace of GOD?

Jesus

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Luke 2:40

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

The apostles

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

The world should see the grace of God in believers

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. Acts 11:23

All believers

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:24

You

You are given the grace of God.  We are all called by the grace of God.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,  Galatians 1:15

God desires you to be where He created you to be, which is with Him - right now - today and for all eternity.

What are believers to do with their grace?

Believers are to:

  • Continue living in the grace of God
  • Continue seeking the grace of God
  • Continue building upon the grace of God
  • Continue growing in the grace of God
  • Continue sharing the grace of God

Continue in the grace of God

Believers should continually seek the grace of God and continue in the grace of God.

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. Acts 13:43

Grow in Grace; Build upon your Grace

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:9-17

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. 2 Corinthians 8:7

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Be strong in grace

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Hebrews 13:9

Glorify God

Remember, everything ever created was and will always be to GLORIFY GOD.

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15

The abundant grace given to us might through the thanksgiving and worship of many  may overflow in the glory of God.

And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: 2 Corinthians 8:19

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:12

We are NOT to receive the grace of God in vain

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 Corinthians 6:1

Do NOT frustrate the grace of God

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:20-21

Minister Grace into others

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29

Be good stewards of the grace of God

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10

Sing with Grace to the Lord

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

Serve God acceptably

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Hebrews 12:28

Speak with the Grace of God

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6

Love it! Learn it! Live it!

Believers love God and we love everything about God and all the things of God.  Believers are seekers of God because we love Him we learn about Him and when we learn about Him we live out His plan for our lives.

As believers we are to live out the grace of God, seek God's purpose, learn about grace and all the things of God.  As believers we are to live in God's grace, abiding in His love, abiding in Christ Jesus.

As believers we are to share the grace of God, let others see God's grace in our lives so much that they ask us how to get it.

Who are fallen from the grace of GOD?

Fallen from grace

God specifically tells us that we are not justified by the law, no one is saved by their works.  It is impossible for anyone to receive the salvation of God by works.  All who believe following the law and their works brings them salvation are fallen from grace, are wrong, are without God.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Galatians 5:4

God will judge those who insult the Spirit of grace

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:29-31

All who reject the truth of God, reject the Word of God, all who reject God do not have God or His salvation.  Too many people choose trash over grace.  Too many people choose to follow their own way, to follow the lies of this evil world, instead of accepting the grace of God to save them.

We are all saved the exact same way, by the grace of God alone - by grace ye are saved (Ephesians 2:5).

How do we keep from falling from the grace of GOD?

Follow Christ; seek God diligently

If we follow Christ and righteousness and diligently seek the kingdom of God we will be less likely to fall from the grace of God.   Be careful not to slip, watch out, be aware looking diligently toward God.

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;  Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. Hebrews 12:15-16

Sin and wrong people can creep into our lives unawares.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4

Sin must be forsaken in our lives, we must walk with Christ in righteousness and holiness every day to remain upright, acceptable, blameless, spotless, upright for God, because we love God.

Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. Proverbs 28:18

Remaining in the grace of God requires our participation for we must abide in Him (John 15:4), we are to work out our own salvation every day (Philippians 2:12), we are to maintain good works (Titus 3:8), living in faith to God every day (Romans 1:17) until we see Him face to face. (1 Corinthians 13:12).

Eternal salvation is an endurance race, a lifetime journey to God, not a prayer you said when you were a child and not thought about again.

God promises all who endure until the end will be saved (Matthew 24;13), salvation is an endurance race (Hebrews 12:1-2), Christ Jesus is our prize at the end of our race (Philippians 3:14), a battle fought every day, submitting to and living with Christ every day, a commitment to God, loving God today and every day.

May the Grace of God be with you all

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14
