Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.   Matthew 5:16

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.    1 Corinthians 10:31

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.    Jude 1:21

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.    Acts 11:23

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.    Ecclesiastes 12:13

This is a Biblical study on Living for GOD.

What is "living for God"?

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.    Matthew 16:24

All believers of Christ are instructed by God to deny self, take up your cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34).

Being a follower of Christ, a disciple of Jesus, a Christian is not a religion but a lifestyle.  As believers we were all bought with the body of Jesus, His blood and His sacrifice made a way for us to be reconciled to God and to be saved from sin and death.

Our reasonable service, as believers, is that we present our bodies daily as a holy and acceptable living sacrifice to God.

When we receive the salvation of God, we put on Christ, we put on the righteousness of Jesus, and we receive the power of God to boldly advance His kingdom.   We as ambassadors of Christ are NOT to conform to this world, BUT be transformed by Jesus, by the daily renewing of our mind, and boldly PROVE what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.    Romans 12:1-2

God doesn't want wishy-washy soldiers to fight the battle for His Kingdom, He needs bold soldiers of Christ, who are willing to prove His truth, stand up for His truth, voice His gospel, sent out to a dying world His truth of Hope and Salvation through faith in His Son, no matter what the cost.

Living for God is living by faith to God, for God and with God.  Living for God is living by faith in Christ to salvation, and living in that faith day to day, from faith to faith, and continuing in the faith all the days of our lives.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.   Romans 1:16-17

Living for God is NOT living for the world or the things of the world.

Living for God is living separate in the world; separated from the evil, immorality, and sin of this world, and living to God.

Yes, all believers must live in this world, but we are not of this world, because Christ was not of this world (John 17:16).

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,   And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.   2 Corinthians 6:17-18

How are we to be Living for God?

We are to do ALL to the glory of God

Do all to the Glory of GOD

Everything we do in our life is to be done to the glory of God.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.   1 Corinthians 10:31

Do all to the glory of God, this is an important scripture to all believers of Christ.   This should be the motto of every believer in Christ.  If in everything that we do, we do it to the glory of God, we would remain on the straight and narrow path to God.

Whatever we do, DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD!!

Love God

If we simply live as God instructs us to, through His word, which is to love God and seek the kingdom of heaven, we will be living for God.

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy might.   Deuteronomy 6:5

First seek the Kingdom of God

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

Seek the Lord

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.   Zephaniah 2:3

Study and live the word of God

If we love God and seek after Godís kingdom, we will be studying His word and doing the word of God and praying to Him and worshiping God and God will be our guide for our lives

We will want to follow Him and keep His commandments and we will be able to follow Godís will for our lives.

Doing everything to the glory of GOD, is truly, very simple and the key is to loving God today and every day of our lives.

If we give to God our whole heart, our love, our life, surrender all to Him, He will give us everything that we could possible need and much, much more.

More than we could ever imagine, because God is endless, infinite in His love for every one of us.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.   1 Corinthians 2:9

Our small little minds cannot imagine the wonders that God has prepared for us that love Him!

Perfect Holiness in the fear of God

We are to daily cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.   2 Corinthians 7:1

The word of God gives all of us full instruction on how we should be living our lives.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God for instruction in righteousness that we may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.   2 Timothy 3:16,17

I personally want to be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work, so I read and study my word of God.

How wonderful it is that God tells us how to be complete, and not just equipped for life, but thoroughly equipped for every good work !!

It is so amazing to me, how merciful God is toward us and how much He loves us all!

God explains everything.  God doesn't leave anything out, nothing is missing, it is all in His word.   Everything we need to know about our lives is right at our finger tips inside the word of God.

God explains to us what we should be doing and things we should not be doing.

God also explains to us the consequences for the path that we choose, whether it is good or evil.

You are not ready to live, until you are ready to die.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.   Philippians 1:21

You will be ready to become who God wants you to be, when you realize God is enough.

We are to focus on our goal, which is Christ Jesus.  We are to leave behind all our past sinful ways of living, forget about our sin that has been forgiven by God, separate ourselves from evil and sin, and press forward, move toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.   Philippians 3:14

It is impossible to move forward, if you are still holding onto your past life of sin.  We must forget those things which are behind and reach forward to those things which are in front of us, the prize, our prize, our reward that awaits us in Heaven, who is our King, our Saviour, our Lord God, Jesus Christ.

Thankful to God for our life, for everything He has so graciously given to each of us.

God gives us everything in our life, and we should thank God for everything.

Everything good in our life, comes to us from God.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.   John 3:27

We never own anything, we own nothing.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.    1 Timothy 6:7

In everything give thanks.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.   1 Thessalonians 5:18

We are to obey God

For some, following God means following a lot of rules, like the 10 commandments and giving up things; but, this is a lie the devil has been using since time began.

Living for God - you don't give up anything,

YOU GAIN EVERYTHING when you are LIVING FOR GOD

you RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE.

Living for God is so much more than just following God's laws and commandments.

Living for God and following God is loving God and you do not give up anything. God gives you so much.

The only thing the devil can give you is eternal damnation in hell and separation from God for eternityPlease do not listen to the lies of the devil.

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.  2 Thessalonians 3:5

Our Lord God promises to give all His children such things that are beyond our wildest dreams and imagination.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  1 Corinthians 2:9

No one on earth can even imagine, what waits for the children of God in heaven.  God has prepared these things all for His children!  My Lord God has prepared such wonders for me!  The same God who created the universe - has prepared personally something especially for me - how wonderful it must be!

Who am I?

Before we can start living for God, we must answer some questions, such as Who am I?

God wants us ALL to be His children.  God wants all people to obtain salvation, so that we can be with God for eternity.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.  1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

God cares so much for everyone and God loves us so much.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

Are you a child of God?  Have you accepted Jesus as your LORD and Saviour?  Are you saved by the blood of Jesus?

Before you can start living the life God has planned for you, you must be born again

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.  John 3:7

There is no middle ground in Godís eyes, we either live for God in righteousness, or we live for sin and live for the world in unrighteousness.  God is not of this evil, corrupt, sinful world.  God is righteousness.  We are to live separated from the lusts and sins of this evil world, as God is not of the world, neither are His chosen.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  John 17:16

Only by believing in Jesus Christ can we live for God and have eternal life in the kingdom of God.  Without faith in Jesus Christ to salvation, you do not have eternal life.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  1 John 5:12

Those who do NOT have the Son of God living inside of them through salvation, do NOT have eternal life.

We are either children of God who love God and keep His commandments, or children of the devil who are disobedient to God and who do not keep His commandments.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  1 John 5:2

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.  1 John 3:10

The children of God do righteousness, and the children of the devil live in unrighteousness and sin.  The children of disobedience are separated from God.

How can I become a child of God?  How can I be saved?

Salvation is one of the simplest, fulfilling and most important decision any person will ever make in their life.

Salvation is the most important decision in your life.

Every person makes decisions and choices all throughout their lives.

Receiving the free gift of salvation from God is the most important decision anyone will ever make in their lifetime.

If you want to truly live and live for God - accept salvation.

Who can be saved?  Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, Master of their lives.

Your past does NOT matter with Jesus.  Jesus did not come into the world to save the righteous, Jesus came to save the sinners.  If you are a sinner, you can be saved.

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  Mark 2:17

Receive the gift of salvation

In order to accept the free gift of salvation from God, you need to:

  • Realize  and confess you are a sinner
  • Believe that Jesus died for your sins
  • Believe that Jesus rose from death and lives today
  • Repent of your sins, turn away from sin
  • Surrender your life to Christ
  • Confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and your Savior
  • Pray and ask Jesus to forgive your sins, and to be Lord of your life

That's it!  How simple!

Salvation is simple enough for a child to understand.

The word of God reads that if you pray with your whole heart and ask Jesus into your life, to be your personal Lord and Saviour and agree with the above you are saved and become a child of God

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Romans 10:9-10

Believe in Jesus!  We are saved by the grace of Jesus through faith in Jesus.

Faith comes from within your heart, and everyone has faith.  (Not everyone has faith in God.)  We are able to have faith in Jesus Christ, by the grace of God.

The grace of God gives us faith.  By the grace of Christ Jesus we are given faith.  Faith comes from God.  The ability to have faith in God, comes from God.  Every good thing we have comes from God above.  God is able to give faith to every person.  Through faith in Jesus, we can receive salvation.

Salvation is freely given by God, to all people of all the world, who has faith in Jesus Christ.

Realize you are a sinner

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Believe that Jesus died for your sins

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8

Believe that Jesus rose from death

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  John 11:25

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  1 Thessalonians 4:14

For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.  Romans 14:9

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.  1 Corinthians 15:4

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.  2 Corinthians 5:15

Repent of your sins

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;  Acts 3:19

Repentance is telling Jesus will turn from your sinful life.  With the help of the Lord Jesus you will be able to be sin free and live in righteousness to God.

Pray and ask Jesus to forgive your sins and be the LORD over all your life.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.  Matthew 21:22

Confess that Jesus is the Son of God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  Matthew 10:32

Receive water baptism

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  Mark 16:16

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Acts 2:38

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  Galatians 3:27

By having faith and believing in Jesus you are saved

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Ephesians 2:8

Salvation is not of yourself, only by the grace of God are you saved through faith in God.  We receive salvation by the grace and mercy of God alone, nothing that we can do by ourselves can save us.  Through faith in God we are saved by the grace of God.

What happens after I am saved?

Salvation brings new life, we are born again.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  Romans 6:4

Once you believe and ask Jesus to be your LORD and direct your life, you become a child of God.

After you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and are saved, you have answered the most important question in your life, Who am I?  I am a child of God

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:26

Only faith in Christ Jesus, the Son of God, can anyone become a child of God.

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.  Luke 20:36

The Children of God are the children of the resurrection, NOT angels but equal to the angels of God.

How do I know that I am a child of God?  Because the Spirit of God tells and confirms that I am a child of God to my spirit.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  Romans 8:16

So being the children of God we must act like it and live according to His will and purpose.

For more information see - After Salvation

How do I know that I am saved?

All who believe in Jesus, the Son of God, deny themselves, and follow Christ and obey God are saved through faith.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Acts 2:21

We must call on the name of the Lord, ask Jesus to forgive our sins and save our souls.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9

We must confess with our mouth Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe with all our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, then we will be saved.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9

We must admit we are a sinner and need forgiveness and then ask Jesus to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

The word of God reads that if we believe in our heart and call upon the name of Jesus to forgive us of our sins and confess that Jesus is the Son of God and was raised from the dead and we repent of our sins that He will forgive us of our sins and we are saved.

How are we saved?

Everyone is saved the same way, by the love and the mercy and the grace of God.

We are saved the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GodEphesians 2:8

We are saved by the grace of God through the faith in Jesus Christ.

All people who receive the gift of God, salvation, are saved by the grace of God through faith in God.  We are all saved the same way, by grace through faith in God.

NOTHING we could ever do, working in the church, feeding the poor, being a missionary, being good, being righteous, nothing that we do ourselves could ever save us from damnation.   ONLY FAITH and believing in Jesus Christ can save us, nothing else.

By the grace of God, we were given a way out of sin, by the ultimate sacrifice of God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  What is grace?  God is Grace!

God did NOT have to send His Son to save the world, but God loved us so much that He gave His Son, so all the world could be saved.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

Why am I here?

We are here for Godís glory.

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.  Isaiah 43:7

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.  Isaiah 43:21

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.  Revelation 4:11

Why was I born?

God creates everything, and that includes all of us.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Genesis 1:27

We all have a living soul.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  Genesis 2:7

God knew about you before he created the world.

They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.  Isaiah 48:7

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Matthew 10:30

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

He knew about you then and he knows everything about you now.  There is nothing about you that is hidden from God.

For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.  Mark 4:22

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.  Luke 12:2

What is my purpose?

Every life that God created has a purpose.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  Ecclesiastes 3:1

We must realize that we belong to God.

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Godís.  1 Corinthians 6:20

We were chosen by God having predestination.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good please of his will,  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:4-6

God has plans to give us hope and a future.

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord,   Jeremiah 29:11-15 (NIV)

After we are saved, we become a new person.

When we are saved, we have Christ in us.  We put on God.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.   Galatians 3:27

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.   Ephesians 4:24

God is our armor against evil.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.   Ephesians 6:11

When we are saved by Jesus, all things are new.

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:   Colossians 3:10

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.   Romans 6:4

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.     Colossians 3:12-13

After we are saved, and cleansed by the blood of Jesus, we are to walk in a new way.   Our old lives will not work for us anymore.  We will be refreshed and renewed.  We will want to follow Godís will for our lives.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.   2 Corinthians 5:17

We will have found our purpose, to love God.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.   1 John 5:2

How to live "after" Salvation?

Some people think all they need in their life is to be saved.  This is not what God says in his scriptures.

After we receive salvation, there is so much more that God has for us all.

Don't stop at salvation, receive all the gifts that God has waiting for you.

Salvation is just the beginning of your new life with God.

Faith is the key to open the door of salvation, Jesus Christ.  You need to walk through the door and get to know God and receive all the many, many gifts he has waiting for you.

Though faith we are saved through Jesus Christ, we need to grow our faith and continue our walk with Christ.  God says we are to work out our own salvation.

Work out your own salvation.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but not much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.   Philippians 2:12

Live according to God in the spirit.

For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.   1 Peter 4:6

Separate from the world.

Purify ourselves from everything that contaminating out of reverence for God.   2 Corinthians 7:1

Boasting.

Don't boast of yourself, boast only in the Lord  2 Corinthians 10:17,18

Beatitudes.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.   Matthew 5:1-12

Do you know you are the temple of God?

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?   1 Corinthians 3:16

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.   1 Corinthians 3:17

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.   2 Corinthians 6:16

Keep God's laws and Commandments

Keep therefore the word of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.   Deuteronomy 29:9

Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.   Leviticus 22:31

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.   Deuteronomy 4:2

What are the Ten Commandments?

The Ten Commandments are laws, which God gave us to instruct us how we should live. The Ten Commandments are instruction on how we should live.  Every commandment is relevant to us today.

God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses, who wrote them down on stone tablets, and gave them to all the people.

And God spake all these words, saying,  I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before meThou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. Exodus 20:1-17

How should we be living?

Living for God starts with Loving God.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.   Mark 12:30

Loving the Lord our God with all our heart gives a believer of Christ 20/20 vision for the rest of their life.

See your life clearly every day, start off every day of your life loving your Lord.

Living for God is to Love everyone.

Since God is love, and we are to be perfect like him, we should also be loving.

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.   1 John 4:21

God should be the center of us and love should be in everything that we do in life.  We need to make sure everything we say and do comes from love.

And above all things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.   Colossians 3:14

What is love?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child, When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.   Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 (NIV)

You are nothing without love.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.   1 Colossians 13:2

And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is love.   1 Corinthians 13:13 (MKJV)

Truth shall set you free.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.   John 8:31-32

One bad thought can bind you for life.  Break free from whatever the devil is binding you with.

You, as a believer, know the truth now.  You are free.  Jesus is the truth and he has set you free.  Claim your freedom and live it.

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.   2 Timothy 3:2-5,7

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.   James 4:6

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.   1 Peter 5:5

What is wisdom?

We are to seek God's wisdom.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.   Job 28:28

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!   Romans 11:33

The world's wisdom is foolishness.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.   1 Corinthians 3:19

How to speak?

God says do not swear

Even a little child knows that swearing is wrong.  We all know that we are not supposed to swear, but did you know that we are not to swear at all?

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Matthew 5:34-37

Wow, that includes swearing by anything!

This not only includes bad swear words, but those that don't sound as bad, like 'heaven's sake' or 'oh my god' or even 'goodness sake'.  God said not to swear by anything in heaven or earth.

God even tells us why, because heaven is his throne and the earth is his footstool.

For all the wonderful gifts that God has given us, especially the greatest gift of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, I personally do not have any problem doing what God asks of me, which is not to swear at all.

God said let our conversation be simply yes or no.

Again, God makes it so simple for us to learn, just don't swear at all.  That way, we don't have to worry if we are swearing wrong, all swearing is wrong.

Y God is love, pass it on.

Do not say negative things to people.

God wants us to build each other up, not tear each other down.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.   Ephesians 4:29

When we build each other up with our positive words it ministers grace to the ones we are speaking with.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.   James 1:26

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou are not a doer of the law, but a judge.   James 4:11

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.   Titus 3:2

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guild:   1 Peter 3:10

What we speak comes from the heart.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.   Matthew 12:34-35

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.   Luke 6:45

Every word we speak will be judged.

Everyone will have to give account of every word that we have spoken in the day of judgment.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.   Matthew 12:36-37

So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.  James 2:12

Do not judge others.

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.  Matthew 7:1,2

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:   Luke 6:37

There is one lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?   James 4:12

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?   Romans 2:1,2,3

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brotherís way.   Romans 14:13

Speak not evil one of another, brethren.  He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.  James 4:11

There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?   James 4:12

Examine yourself to remain blameless and holy before God

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.  Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?   2 Corinthians 13:5

Wicked people judge.

But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.   1 Corinthians 5:13

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.   Proverbs 16:17

Don't hold a grudge.

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.   James 5:9

Live by Faith.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.   Romans 1:17

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.   Galatians 3:11

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.   Hebrews 10:38

Labor for Christ

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.   James 2:26

Be fruitful.

Surrender your life to Christ and be fruitful to the kingdom of Heaven.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;   Colossians 1:10

We are the temple of God.

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.   1 Corinthians 3:17

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.   2 Corinthians 7:1

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.   3 John 1:11

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.   Philippians 4:8

Donít speak evil.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that thy speak no guile:   1 Peter 3:10

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from the all appearance of evil.   1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Put away bitterness.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, will all malice:   Ephesians 4:31

Be kind to one another.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

Always have a conscience void of offence toward God.

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.   Acts 24:16

Does God have a plan for me?

Yes, God has a plan for you, and for me and for everyone.

God has a plan for me.

What? Full abundant joy overflowing life.  (John 10:10).

Why? Because He loves me. (1 John 4:10, 16)

How?  Through following His will for my life.  Through His blessings.

When?  Today, no matter what happened in the past - God has a plan for me today, and tomorrow, the past is gone.

Where?  Wherever I am - God is.  God has a plan for my life today, right were I am.  Matthew 28:20

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
