John 17:24
|
God the Father loves us just as He loves Jesus, and has loved
us before the foundation of this world. How wonderful is the love that God
has for us!!!
We are known to the Father through the Son and we are known
to the Son through the Father, the perfect operation of God functions
inseparable in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
All who love
Jesus and believe
For the Father himself loveth you,
because ye have loved
me,
and have believed that I came out from God. John 16:27 |
There are as many reasons why God loves us as there are
individual people. We were created to receive the great love of God.
God loves each and every human being that He has created, from
the beginning of time with Adam and Eve, to today with you and me.
We do not deserve the love of God, but we are gifted God's
love anyway.
It is impossible to fully comprehend the love of God.
God loved us before we were. God loves us in spite of ourselves
Ephesians 2:4-6).
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our
Father, which hath loved us,
and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
2 Thessalonians 2:16 |
God loves us with an everlasting love. The love of God
cannot be measured, His love is endless. God loves us more than we will
ever know on this earth.
Praise the Lord God, that He doesn't love like we do!!
As human beings we generally have selfish, conditional love,
"I'll love you as long as you love me", or "I'll love you as long as you meet my
certain needs". Genuine love does not seek to get, it seeks to give.
God's love is pure and unconditional. We were never
worthy of God's love, we didn't deserve God's love. There is nothing in
this world that we could give God in exchange for His love. Because of
God's mercy and grace, He gave us His love anyway, in spite of who we were.
To understand God's love for us, we must understand who God
is, and who we are. God is God, we are not. God is Holy, we
are not. God is sinless, we are not. God is pure, we are not.
God is love, we are not. Sin cannot be in the presence of God.
God love us and wants to give us all things. God wants
us to spend our eternity with Him in His Kingdom. God wants to give us His
Kingdom. God cannot be with us because we are sinners. Through our
mortal birth, we are born into sin, we are sinners. Because we are
sinners, we cannot be in the presence of God. This sin problem did not
stop God. God had a plan, so that through His plan we can live forever
with Him in His Kingdom of Heaven.
God wants all His creation to be with Him for eternity.
God wants all the people of this world to spend eternity with Him in Paradise.
God needed a way for all the people, you and me, to be
cleansed from sin. Sin had to be completely removed from us, so that we
could live with God in His Kingdom for eternity. A sacrifice was needed, a
holy, just, sinless sacrifice was required for remission of all the sins of all
the people of all the world.
There was only one who was a worthy sacrifice, there was only
one who was just and holy, there was only one who would save the world from sin
and death, the only Holy One, sinless, sacrifice was God. There is only
one Saviour. God is One God. One God washes away sins, God alone
redeems, God alone justifies, God alone sanctifies, God alone can reconcile us
with Him. Therefore God manifest Himself in the flesh as the Son of
man, conceived by the Holy Ghost in the womb of a virgin, born into the
world like we are, born in the flesh like man, in the image of man, lived as man
in the world among people. This Son of man is Jesus Christ the only
begotten Son of God, came out from God Himself, fully man and fully God.
(1 Timothy 3:16; Matthew 1:20; John 16:27)
The miracle of Jesus Christ, gifted to humanity, is how God
showed us His love from the very beginning of time.
God's love for us is undeniable. God gave Himself as
sacrifice for sins. God gave His life as Jesus Christ so that we might
live, that we could receive eternal life and inherit all things from Him.
What is love? There is no greater love,
than to lay down your life for another. This is what God did for us all,
so that we shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down
his life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:15-17
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down
his life for his friends.
John 15:13
|
With an everlasting love
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have
loved thee with an everlasting love:
therefore with loving kindness have I drawn
thee. Jeremiah 31:3 |
God loves us with unconditional, never ending, everlasting love.
God love us as He loves Jesus
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in
one;
and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as
thou hast loved me.
John 17:23 |
Love of God
Hereby perceive we the love of God,
because he laid down
his life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God,
and into the patient waiting for Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 |
We are to
keep ourselves in God's love
Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 1:21 |
God loves us because we love His Son, Jesus
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved
me,
and have believed that I came out from God.
John 16:27
But God commandeth his love toward us, in that,
while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our
Father,
which hath loved us,
and hath given us everlasting consolation
and good
hope through grace,
2 Thessalonians 2:16
In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because
that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through
him.
1 John 4:9
Herein is love, not that we loved God,
but that he loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one
another.
1 John 4:11
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare
it:
that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them,
and I in them.
John 17:26
|
Know the love of Christ
And to know the love of Christ,
which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19 |
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved
us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10 |
There is no greater love, than one giving their life for
another.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down
his life for his friends.
John 15:13 |
This is exactly what God did for you. God gave His Son
as a sacrifice for your sins, so that you could be reconciled to Him, so that
you would not perish, but could receive everlasting life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 |
The love of God for His children is from everlasting to
everlasting.
Everlasting to Everlasting is the Lord’s love
God's love for us is everlasting, eternal, forever, infinite.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to
everlasting
upon them that fear him, and his righteousness
unto children's
children; Psalm 103:17-18 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have
loved thee with an everlasting love:
therefore with loving kindness have I drawn
thee. Jeremiah 31:3 |
Through the Holy Ghost
And hope maketh not ashamed;
because
the love of God is
shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 5:5 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and
he in him.
And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he
hath given us. 1 John 3:24 |
Because we keep
God's commandments
Those who keep His commandments dwell in Him and He in them.
Believers keep God's commandments because of salvation,
not to gain salvation. We cannot earn salvation through anything that we
do, salvation is the gift of God. By the grace of God we are saved
through faith in God alone, not by our works.
Obeying God's commandments, obeying the word of God is the
product of salvation, produced from true salvation.
And this is his commandment,
That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one
another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.
And
hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 3:23-24
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of
God:
and every one that loveth him that begat
loveth him also that is begotten
of him.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep
his commandments.
For this is the love of God,
that we keep his commandments:
and his commandments
are not grievous.
1 John 5:1-3
|
Because we love God and keep His commandments, we know that
we know Him. We have assurance of our salvation because we love God
and keep His word.
And hereby we do know that we know him,
if we keep his
commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments,
is a liar, and the
truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word,
in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in him. 1 John 2:3-5 |
Living in the will of God, keeping His word, doing what God
says we are to do, living the way God says we are to live, we can know that we
are in Him and the love of God is perfected.
We are to keep ourselves in the love of God, but exactly how
do we do this?
Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 1:21 |
Keep the word of God
But whoso keepeth His word,
in him verily is the love of
God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in Him. 1 John 2:5 |
By studying and keeping the word of God inside us, doing
what God says, living in the will of God, the love of God is perfected in us.
Keep all God's commandments
For this is the love of God, that we keep his
commandments:
and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3 |
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8),
and so is His love for us the same yesterday, today and forever.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17 |
We change every day, we grow in grace and truth, in faith, but
with God there is no variableness, no shadow of turning. The Word of God
is living and eternal. The love God has toward us today is the same love
God will have for us throughout eternity. The difference is, that we
change, and when we see God our vision will be changed and we will behold all of
His love. The scriptures explain it as if we are looking through a
glass darkly, we know God loves us and we can see God's love, but when we are
finally with Him we will see clearly (1 Corinthians 13:12).
The love of God never changes because God does not change, but
we change and we will be changed when we see Him face to face.
God does not change and God's love does not change. He
is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). God's love is
shown to us the same way He has shown it throughout history.
God shows us His love for us today by giving us His salvation
and hope of eternal life through Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9;
4:7). God shows us His love for us today by giving us His gift of faith
and His gift of grace, to accept the gift of Christ (Ephesians 4:7).
God shows us His love through His Spirit with love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance
(Galatians 5:22-23).
Nothing can
separate us from the love of God.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day
long;
we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor
angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be
able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39 |
