If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:15 |
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Jesus said unto him,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great
commandment. And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:37-40
And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:31
And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength,
and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 10:27
|
Love your neighbors and love your enemies.
Ye have heard that it hath been said,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
and do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:43-45 |
Don't hate your neighbor.
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt
in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Leviticus 19:1 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth
his brother,
is in darkness even unto now.
1 John 2:9 |
Don't avenge and Don't bear any grudge against your neighbor.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the
children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the
LORD.
Leviticus 19:18 |
Please your neighbor.
Let everyone of us please his neighbour for his good to
edification.
Romans 15:2 |
Help your neighbor.
They helped every one his neighbour; and ever one said to
his brother, Be of good courage.
Isaiah 41:6 |
We are one family in God, speak the truth to your neighbor.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with
his neighbour: for we are member one of another.
Ephesians 4:25 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man
the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your
gates:
Zechariah 8:16 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his
neighbour; and love not false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith
the LORD.
Zechariah 8:17 |
Everyone is our neighbour.
Read the bible, when thy asked Jesus "And who is my neighbour?"
Luke 10:29-37 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And
who is my neighbour?
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and
fell among thieves,
which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him
half dead.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he
passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and
passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw
him, he had compassion on him,
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him
on his own beast,
and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence,
and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him;
and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among
the thieves?
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do
thou likewise.
Luke 10:29-37 |
Fulfill the law of God - Love your neighbor.
God tells us to love everyone. When we love everyone we
are fulfilling God's law. God who has given us so much, much more than we
ever deserve, asks us to do so little, if God asks us to love one another we
should do so.
By loving one another, God knows we will receive more than we
can ever give. The more love we give, the more love is returned to us.
God knows how love works, because God is love, God invented love. God
wants us to have abundant joy and abundant peace and abundant love.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:
therefore love is fulfilling of the
law.
Romans 13:10
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:14
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture,
Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
James 2:8
|
God can't love for us, we must give love ourselves to others,
it doesn't work any other way.
You sin, if you don't love your neighbor as yourself.
If you love and respect some people, but NOT all people you sin.
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin,
and are convinced of the
law as transgressors.
James 2:9 |
We are to love like God does unconditionally. If we love
some people, because they love us, this is really not love.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do
not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even
the publicans so?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:46-48 |
It is easy to love those people who love you, anyone can do
that. The test of love comes when you love those who don't love you,
with perfect love, like the love of God.
God says if you break one commandment, you break them all.
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in
one point, he is guilty of all.
James 2:10 |
If we break one commandment, we are guilty of them all.
God is not a respecter of persons, He sees everyone equally. A murderer
is the same as someone who covets.
For there is no respect of persons with God.
Romans 2:11 |
Example: If you don't commit adultery, but kill, you broke the commandments
of God. Or let's say, if you don't kill someone, but you lie, then you
have still broken the commandments of God.
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not
kill.
Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill,
thou art become a
transgressor of the law.
James 2:11 |
Love the Lord thy God and keep his commandments.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD
thy God,
to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Deuteronomy 8:6
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God,
and keep his charge, and his statutes,
and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
Deuteronomy 11:1
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the
faithful God,
which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him
and keep
his commandments to a thousand generations;
Deuteronomy 7:9
