Resurrection

This is a Bible study on the Resurrection.     Click here for a printable Bible Study Guide.

JESUS is risen!

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.  Mark 16:6

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.  1 Peter 1:3-5

What is resurrection?

The dictionary defines resurrection as the act of rising from the dead.

The greatest historical recording of resurrection is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Historical document after document supports the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is fact.

Though many people have tried to prove otherwise, the resurrection of Jesus Christ has always been proven true.

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.  Mark 16:6

We have hope in Jesus Christ who is resurrected.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

What is the resurrection of Jesus?

After the crucifixion and death of Jesus, Jesus was placed in a tomb, and then in three days Jesus rose from His grave, this is called the resurrection.

Just as important as the crucifixion, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is necessary to fulfill scripture and was the will of God and the basis of Christian faith.

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.  Mark 16:6

Who resurrected Jesus?

God raised Christ from the grave.

Jesus had full power to raise Himself from His grave.

Jesus prophesied that He would raise Himself from His grave.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?  But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.  John 2:19-22

God resurrected the body of Jesus.  Jesus raised Himself from the grave.  Up from the grave He arose by the Power of God.

Where did Jesus ascend to after His resurrection?

Jesus ascended to God the Father in Heaven.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.  Hebrews 4:14

Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.  1 Peter 3:22

Where is Jesus today?

Jesus sits on the right hand side of God the Father in Heaven.

Jesus sits on His throne in His Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus abides in the hearts of all believers.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  Mark 16:19

Was ALL of Jesus Christ resurrected?

Was the Spirit of Jesus Christ resurrection?  Was the Body of Jesus Christ resurrected? Yes, ALL of Jesus Christ was completely resurrected by God.

The moment Jesus Christ died on the cross, His Spirit was separated from His dead earthly body, and was immediately united with His Father God in Heaven.

Jesus' earthly body was transformed into a heavenly body, much like the one He had while He lived on the earth, but in a glorified heavenly body that would not decay like His earthly body, a new body that is immortal and will last for eternity.

Unlike us, Jesus was able to walk among people of the earth after He died.  They knew He was Jesus; He was more than just a spirit or vapor; He had a body, human form.

When we die, we will not walk and visit people here on earth.

When we die our spirit instantly leaves our bodies and our bodies are dead.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.  James 2:26

When believers of Christ Jesus die our spirit immediately goes to Heaven to be with the Lord.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  2 Corinthians 5:8

When we are absent from our bodies we will be present with the Lord Jesus Christ!! Hallelujah!!

When we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and put all our trust in Him we will be with Jesus, the moment we die.

We know through the words of God that there is NO waiting period to see Jesus.  ALL followers of Christ Jesus, ALL the children of God will see God the instant that they die.   To be absent from our bodies and be present with the Lord is promised to all believers of Christ Jesus.

When we die our earthly bodies remain on this earth, buried until the return of Christ Jesus, when Jesus will resurrected the bodies of all of His followers, the dead in Christ and those still alive who believe in Christ.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.  Philippians 3:20-21

When we are resurrected, our earthly decayed vile body will be changed, transformed, fashioned like unto His Glorious body.

Our destiny, our conversation is in Heaven, from where we look for our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

What is the difference between the death of Jesus and when we die?

Special Note: Of course we cannot compare anything about us to God, the difference spoken of here is the order of events actually taking place, I would never want to compare myself to God.

The resurrected body of Jesus was seen by many

The difference between the death of Jesus and our death is different in the fact that the living and breathing, walking, talking body of Jesus was seen by a multitude of people in history.

When we die, our bodies will remain in the ground, in our grave, or where ever our bodies were buried, until the return of Jesus Christ.  We will not walk in our bodies on the earth after we die, or be seen by anyone.

When Jesus Christ returns to earth again, those dead in Christ (believers of Jesus, the saved that are dead), Jesus will first resurrect their bodies, and then second Jesus will resurrect all the bodies of those still alive in Christ (saved believers of Jesus) here on the earth.

Our earthly bodies we had here on earth, will be transformed into incorruptible bodies that will not decay and will not die, our bodies will be changed into bodies like the heavenly glorious body of Christ Jesus.

For more information see - CAUGHT UP

Our heavenly bodies will be joined again to our spirit and soul that has been with the Lord the moment we took our last breath on earth, the instant we died.   Absent from the body, present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

If we are alive when Jesus comes in the clouds for His own, if we are NOT dead when Jesus returns to earth, our body will be transformed and our spirit will go together to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

When Jesus Christ died, His Spirit immediately went to be with His Father (Mark 15:37).

When we die, our spirit will immediately go and be with our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Our earthly bodies will remain in our grave, where ever we were buried, until the Lord Jesus returns to earth to take all His followers home to Heaven.

The physical earthy body of Jesus Christ was placed in a tomb.

Just like Jesus Christ, the instant we die, the moment we take our last breath, our spirit and soul will be with God in Heaven.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  2 Corinthians 5:8

Why was Jesus resurrected?

All things are purposed for the glory of God.

To Glorify God

Why was the world created?  Why were we created? Why was Jesus crucified and resurrected?  Everything that is and was and will forever be is to glorify God.

As everything is, Jesus was resurrected to glorify God.

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.  John 17:1-5

Jesus Christ was sent to earth, God manifest in the flesh, to give ALL the people of this world eternal life and that ALL the world might know the only true God.

Jesus Christ and God the Father are one God and existed in Glory as one before the world was.

Why is the resurrection of Jesus so important?

Why did Jesus have to be placed in a tomb?   Why did the world need to know about His resurrection?

Why did Jesus need to be resurrected from the dead?  To prove power over death, to give promise and hope to all the world, to give us eternal life.

The word of God reads that without the resurrection of Jesus Christ our faith would be in vain, we would be not be able to receive remission for our sins.

So without the resurrection of Jesus there would be no hope of salvation or eternity or promise of the kingdom of God for us.

Jesus was resurrected for our justification.

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justificationRomans 4:25

Our faith would be in vain

And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  1 Corinthians 15:14

There would be no remission for our sins

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.  1 Corinthians 15:17

We can live because Jesus lives

We can receive eternal life because Jesus was resurrected and lives.

Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  John 14:19

Christ conquered death through His resurrection.

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:9-11

The Resurrection of Jesus

After Jesus died on a cross and was buried, Jesus was resurrected.

Women visit Jesus' tomb

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.  Matthew 28:1

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.  And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.  And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?  And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.  Mark 16:1-4

The angel of the Lord at Jesus' tomb

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.  His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:  And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.  Matthew 28:2-4

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.  Mark 16:5

Jesus is risen

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.  And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.  Matthew 28:5-8

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.  But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.  And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.  Mark 16:6-8

Jesus appears

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.  Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.  Matthew 28:9-10

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.  And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.  And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.  After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.  And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.  Mark 16:9-13

Guards report the Resurrection

Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.  And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.  And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.  So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.   Matthew 28:11-15

Jesus appears to his Disciples

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.  And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  Matthew 28:16-20

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  Mark 16:14-18

Jesus' disciples go and preach

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.  Mark 16:20

Jesus ascends to Heaven

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  Mark 16:19

Jesus lives today and evermore

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.  Revelation 1:18

Jesus promises to return

Let not you heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, ye may be also.  John 14:1-3

& Other scriptures on the resurrection of Jesus - Luke 24 & John 20 & 21; Acts 1:4-11

What is promised for Jesus Christ's believers?

Eternal life with Christ Jesus in the kingdom of God is promised to all believers of Christ Jesus.

Believers of Christ Jesus are promised an inheritance in the kingdom of God that is incorruptible, undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved for all believers in heaven.

What is prepared for Jesus' believers?

Indescribable, unbelievable wonders beyond our imaginations await for the believers of Jesus in the heavenly Kingdom of GOD.  No one here on this planet has seen or heard the magnificent splendor, the banquet of wonder that is prepared for those who loved the Lord GOD, who believed on Jesus to receive His free gift of salvation.

But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him1 Corinthians 2:9

No one has seen the blessings that await the children of God in Heaven, as stated in the word of God, no eye has seen, no ear has heart, not even imagined in the heart of man, the wondrous things that God has prepared for His children.   No one knows what Heaven is like except God alone, He wants to give His own, all His beauty, all His love. Wonders beyond wonders is prepared and waiting for the children of God in Heaven.

Are believers resurrected when we die?

When a believer of Christ dies, they are immediately joined with Christ, but this is not the resurrection of the body.

When a believer physically dies, our soul and spirit are separated from our flesh and bones, our physical body.

Our soul and spirit are present with the Lord, but not our earthly body.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  2 Corinthians 5:8

Our flesh is buried here on earth, but our soul and spirit are present with the Lord.

Why can't our earthly body go with our spirit when we die?

The word of God reads that our flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.   Our earthly body cannot go to heaven.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  1 Corinthians 15:50

Our earthly bodies are flesh and blood and decay.  Our present bodies cannot live forever in eternity.

This is why God will give all believers of Christ a new body that will not decay, an incorruptible body that will not ever die - an immortal body.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  1 Corinthians 15:51-53

When will our bodies be resurrected?

The resurrection of believers is when God raises human bodies from the dead and reunites it with the person's soul and spirit.

The word of God states that there are going to be two resurrections for believers of Christ:

  • Believers of Christ who are dead
  • Believers of Christ who are alive

The resurrection of Believers will be for both those who have already died in Christ and those who are still alive when Christ returns.

Because of Christ's resurrected, we believers will also be resurrected.

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.  1 Corinthians 15:20-23

The scriptures say when Jesus Christ returns to earth again, he will claim all his followers, both those that are dead in Christ and those in Christ that are alive.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

When the Lord returns:

  • Jesus, the Lord himself, will descend from Heaven with a shout
  • With the voice of the archangel
  • With the trump from God
  • The dead in Christ are resurrected first
  • Then all that are alive in Christ will be resurrected
  • All believers, dead and alive, will rise to meet Jesus in the clouds
  • And will be with the Lord forever

For more information see - SECOND COMING OF JESUS

What are the two resurrections?

Each person alive today has a choice in life:

  1. Believe in Jesus Christ
    •  Receive salvation
    •  Follow Jesus Christ
    •  Become the just, the saved
    •  Receive the resurrection of life
    •  Receive eternal life in heaven, with God
  2. Do NOT believe in Jesus Christ
    •  Do NOT receive salvation
    •  Do NOT follow Jesus Christ
    •  Become the unjust, the lost
    •  Receive the resurrection of damnation
    •  Receive eternal death in hell, without God

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.  Acts 24:15

And for those two types of people, saved and lost, there are two different resurrections:

  • Resurrection of life - eternity with God in heaven
  • Resurrection of damnation - separated eternally from God in hell

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnationJohn 5:29

What if Jesus Christ had not been resurrected?

If Christ Jesus was NOT resurrected:

  • There would NOT be any Christian religions
  • Our preaching would be meaningless
  • Our faith would be meaningless
  • We would be false witnesses of God
  • We would be still in our sins
  • We would all be doomed to death, without hope
  • There would be NO resurrection of the dead
  • No one would be able to receive eternal life
  • No one could see the kingdom of God
  • The dead in Christ would perish also
  • We would be most miserable

Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?  But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.  For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.  Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.  1 Corinthians 15:12-18

Jesus was resurrected

But since Jesus Christ was resurrected, we who believe in Christ and place our trust in Him, we will also be resurrected after death and receive eternal life in the kingdom of God for eternity.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 1 Corinthians 15:19-23

If in this life we have only hope in Christ Jesus and NOT of His resurrection and NOT of our resurrection we are most miserable.

But we do have hope in Christ Jesus in this life and after our death in our life to eternity, in our resurrection, because of His resurrection.

Because of the resurrection of Christ Jesus, we have hope and promise in our own resurrection after we die.

Because of the resurrection of Christ Jesus, believers of Christ will:

  • Receive eternal life in the Kingdom of God
  • Our preaching and faith are NOT in vain
  • Our preaching and faith have purpose and meaning
  • We are witnesses of the Truth
  • Our sins are forgiven
  • We are NOT doomed to death, but will receive eternal life
  • The dead in Christ will NOT perish
  • We have eternal hope of salvation
  • We are not most miserable, but Joyful because we will inherit the Kingdom of God

Will we turn into angels when we go to heaven?

Will believers of Christ, those of us who are saved, who enter heaven turn into, become angels

The word of God reads believers of Christ will be:

  • As the angels of God in heaven
  • Equal to the angels
  • The children of God
  • The children of the resurrection

God does not say that we will be angels.  We will be like angels and equal to angels, but it does not say we will be angels.

The word of God reads we will be like angels, but not that we will become angels.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.  Matthew 22:30

The word of God reads the children of God will be equal to the angels.

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrectionLuke 20:36

Will I be married in Heaven?

It is truly amazing that every question anyone can ask is answered by God in the Holy Bible, the word of God.  Nothing is left unanswered.

This question was asked in the word of God about marriage in heaven.  In fact, the question asked was even more complicated.

It seems a woman was widowed and married again, then that husband died and she remarried again.  Then that husband died and she remarried again, and again, and again.  This went on for 7 marriages.  All her husbands died and then she died.

The people of that day wanted to know who would be her husband in Heaven.

What a great question, one that Jesus himself answered.

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also.  Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.  Matthew 22:24-30

Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.  In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.  And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?   For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.  Mark 12:19-25

Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.  And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.  Luke 20:28-36

Matthew, Mark and Luke told of the same woman.

When we have questions about eternal life, we must realize that all we know here on earth, the knowledge we have now is of this flesh, this decaying body on our decaying planet earth.

When we receive our eternal heavenly body, our spiritual body, our incorruptible, indestructible, undefiled, our body that fadeth not away, we will not be concerned with manmade laws and earthly possessions, we will be in Heaven for eternity with God the Father and the Son of God, Jesus.

We will be in the eternal Light of Jesus and in the presence of God Almighty.  I think it would be impossible for our thoughts to be on ourselves anymore.

This world, the earth as we know it, will all pass away.  We will not miss anything about what we know here.  I believe we will not miss anything or anyone, we will be in the presence of the Majesty and the Power and Glory of God forever

The love that God has for us, we have not even come close to knowing, feeling or possessing.  God is so good and wonderful to us here on earth, I cannot even imagine what actually being in His Glorious presence will be like.  I can't wait!!

What is the power of the resurrection?

Jesus Christ has power over life and death.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.  John 10:17-18

There is no power greater than the power of God.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Matthew 28:18

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  John 17:2

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:  Romans 1:4

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  Romans 13:1-2

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;  Philippians 3:10

Who doesn't believe in the complete resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ was fully resurrected to Heaven, body, mind, spirit and soul, and today, right now, sits on the right hand side of God the Father.

People who do not believe in the full body, spirit, soul and mind resurrection of Jesus Christ are unsaved, the lost of the world.

If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and believe with all our heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, we shall be saved.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9

Special Note:  The Christian faith is sourced in Christ Jesus.  Without Jesus Christ there is no Christian faith.  Without abiding in Christ Jesus no one is a Christian.  Without believing in the existence of Christ Jesus from eternity - before He came to earth, the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the purpose of Jesus on this planet to be the Saviour of the World, the miracles performed by Jesus, the grace to salvation given to all men by Jesus, the cross of Jesus, the crucifixion of Jesus, the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus, no one is a Christian, one is not a child of God without believing in Christ Jesus for salvation. We must believe that He is all He says He is in His Word, this is faith to salvation.

All this truth of Christ Jesus is found in the Word of God for all people to read.  Salvation is simple truth, either you believe or you remain in unbelief.  Though faith in Christ Jesus for salvation, believing, you are with God.  Through unbelief you are without God.
