12 Truths about sin
The dictionary says sin is a transgression of the law of God. Sin is a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God or an action that is highly reprehensible.
The word of God defines sin as:
It is important to note that all sin is sin, and all sin is against God. We cannot be for God, in God, with God, about God and deal in sin.
Sin prevents fellowship with God. Sin blocks our relationship with God.
Sin detaches us from God. We cannot be attached to God and attached to sin. No one can live in God and live in sin at the same time. We are either attached to God or we are attached to sin; and who we attach ourselves in this world will be who we are attached to in the next world.
God wants the best for us and wants us to resist sin, depart from sin, abandon sin, forsake sin, so that we can have an abundant life in Him and our fellowship with Him is never interrupted.
Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is sin. Sin is yielding to temptation. Sin is the result of our not resisting the temptations of the devil. When we yield to the temptation of sin, we give birth to sin.
All unrighteousness is sin
The word of God reads ALL unrighteousness is sin.
God says sin is the transgression of the law.
Sin is the transgression of the law, not the law of man, but the law of God. When we sin, we sin against God. Sin is against God.
Sin is an enemy of God. When we sin we become sinners, and an enemy against God. When we act out sin, view sin, pursue sin, participate in sin, commit sin, we are sinning against God.
Sin is contrary to the doctrine of Christ
The scriptures say any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.
Unholy, ungodly, profane, murderers, manslayers, whoremongers, defile themselves with mankind, men stealers, liars, perjured persons, and any other thing that is contrary to the doctrine of Christ.
Evil things that come from man
Sin is filled with unrighteousness.
Sin is yielding to temptation
Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is sin. Sin is yielding to temptation (James 1:15). Sin is the result of our not resisting the temptations of the devil. When we yield to the temptation of sin, we give birth to sin.
The end of sin is death
The unrighteous will NOT see God
Be not deceived, the unrighteous shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
Who will NOT inherit the kingdom of God?
If you are on this list, you need to repent and seek forgiveness of your sins.
God said these people will NOT see heaven.
Sins of the flesh
They that do such things shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God:
If you do any of these things, you need to repent and seek forgiveness of your sins.
God said these people will NOT see heaven.
All sin is sin against God. All sin is sin against Christ (1 Corinthians 8:12).
Sin separates anyone from God. Practicing a lifetime of sin leads to separation from God for all eternity (Romans 6:23).
Sin hardens the heart
Sin deceives people
Sin removes peace
Sin separates us from God
We confess our sins to God because we love God and He asked us to follow His Word so that we can receive all His blessings in this life and in the life to come.
Confession of sin is required by God to receive remission of sins.
We are to confess our sins to God, because only God can forgive sin.
The word of God reads that our thoughts can be sin, just like the physical act of sin. Thinking sin is sin, just like acting out sin is sin, because all sin is sin.
Don't believe for a moment, just because you thought sin, but you did not physically act out that sin, that you did not commit sin, because God says you have. God says that thinking sin is sin (Matthew 5:28; 1 Corinthians 10:6).
The world has distorted the definition of sin, saying that watching sin is not sinning, or thinking sin is not sinning, but this is NOT what God says.
God says if we think about sinning, then we have already committed that sin.
God says if we purposefully view sin, then we are participating in that sin, just as if we were there. Beware of what you watch!
Yes, watching sin is sin, and thinking sin is sin, just as much as participating in sin is sin.
All sin is sin, whether we think it, view it, or do it.
Lust in our hearts, thinking of sin, viewing sin, is sin and brings forth more sin, produces acts of sin, and the end of sin is death (James 1:15).
With God through salvation we can resist all sin, we can resist the lust of our heart to sin against God, we can overcome sin by the power of God, which is in all people who have been born again, through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 5:16; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4; Mark 9:23; 10:27).
When does sin become sin? When do our actions become sinful? When does something we do become sin?
Temptation is NOT sin, but yielding to temptation is sin.
We either yield to temptation and commit sin, OR we yield to the will of God and we do not commit sin.
We are tempted by satan to perform evil, to sin. Being tempted by satan is NOT sin, but yielding to his temptation is sin.
We know that satan tempts men into sin, because God tempts no one with evil.
Even Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, and we know that Jesus never committed sin. Jesus was tempted but He never yielded to the temptation, Jesus did not give into the temptation to sin (Matthew 4:1-11).
The temptation to sin was presented to Christ by the devil in the wilderness, but Jesus said no to all the temptations given to Him by the devil. By NOT giving in, yielding to temptation, Jesus never committed sin.
Therefore, being tempted by sin is NOT sin, but yielding to the temptation is sin. When we yield to sin, give into sin, say "yes" to sin offered to us by the devil, then and only then do we commit sin.
We are only able to be tempted by the devil, when we draw away from God into our own lusts. And when lust is conceived, acted upon, it becomes sin.
The devil cannot make anyone sin; the devil can only tempt man with sin, because this is the law of God and cannot be overturned.
The power of satan is very limited. God alone has all power in all things. The power of God is greater than anything or anyone. The power of God is greater than the power of sin. No power is greater than the power of God.
Sin is our choice. We choose to sin, when we yield to temptation. No one can force us to sin, not even the devil. Sin is the choice we make, when we yield to the temptation of the devil.
Every person is responsible for their own sin. There are no excuses for sin. We can't say the devil made us do it, because God says the devil can't make us sin, that he can only tempt us with sin.
No excuse for sin is accepted by God. No circumstance is an accepted excuse for sin. No reason is accepted by God for our sins.
No sin is excused by God for any reason. God will hold us accountable for our own sins. Each person will be judged by God for their own sins, no matter why they think they do them.
We must overcome the temptations of the devil (Romans 12:21). We must overcome sin in our life. We must endure temptation, rejecting the temptation of the devil all the days of our life, to receive the crown of life, eternal life in the Kingdom of God (James 1:12).
Greater is He (God) that is in me, than he (satan) that is in this world (1 John 4:4). We can overcome all temptation because Christ Jesus overcame the world (John 16:33), and we are of God, we are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).
We can overcome all the temptation of satan, by the power of God given to us when we accept His gift of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
You alone are responsible for your own sin. No one is responsible for your sin except you.
God is NOT responsible for sin in man
God is not responsible for your sin. Sin is not of God. No sin is in God (1 John 3:5). God never committed sin (1 Peter 2:22), and will never commit any sin.
God is not responsible for sin. God cannot sin and has nothing to do with sin.
God does not tempt anyone with sin. There is no sin in God (1 John 3:5). There is no sin with God. There is no sin in the presence of God.
God gives everyone a way out of sin, through faith in Him to salvation. God is able and we are able with God to avoid sin.
The devil is NOT responsible for sin in man
The devil can't make you sin. The devil can't force anyone to sin, because satan has very limited powers. The devil is only allowed to tempt you into sin, but he cannot make you commit sin.
The devil sinned from the beginning. The devil tempted Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden with sin, but satan did NOT force them to commit sin.
The devil has limited power. The devil is only allowed to tempt man with sin. Man commits sin, when man yields to the temptation. The devil is a liar and will try and deceive man any way he can. Sin is deceitful.
Sin is a choice, that every human being makes themselves, by their free will. The perfect plan of God was to give mankind a choice, free will to choose, good or evil, life or death. This perfect plan of God, giving mankind free will, choose, has been in place since the creation of mankind by God, and will continue until the end of this world.
The devil is not responsible for sin in man.
The devil is responsible for his own sins. The devil has been tried and judged by God and will receive his just reward. The eternal destiny of the devil is secured by the word of God.
Adam is NOT responsible for my sin
Neither Adam nor Eve are responsible for our sin. Adam and Eve are us, mankind. We are mankind. We are not better or more righteous than Adam or Eve. Adam and Eve did nothing we would not have done. Mankind is guilty of sin against God, not just Adam and Eve.
Yes, sin did enter into this world by Adam (Romans 5:12), but Adam doesn't commit our sin, we do. We commit the sin of Adam by disobeying God, through forsaking the word of God, denying the truth of God, by pursuing our own lusts and desires, we commit sin against God.
By going against the word of God, disobeying God, we deny the truth of God and commit sin. We either have faith in what God says and who God is, or we don't have faith, which is sin.
We are responsible for our own sin
We are responsible for our sin. I am responsible for my sin. You are responsible for your sin. We are all responsible for our own sin.
No one is responsible for our sin, but ourselves because we choose to commit sin.
God gives us all in His word definitions of sin.
Sin is revealed to us by God through His word and through His Spirit. Through the word of God we can read what God calls sin. By listening to the Spirit of God in our hearts we can know what is sin.
All unrighteousness is sin
The all encompassing definition of sin is that ALL unrighteousness is sin. Things are righteous or unrighteous, good or evil, right or wrong. All unrighteousness is not of God, because God is righteous. All evil is not of God, because God is good.
Violating the 10 Commandments is sin
God gives specific instruction as to what is right and what is wrong in the commandments He gave to Moses. The ten commandments were given to man to define sin, to bring knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20), to make known specifically what God considers sin, and what sins God wants us to avoid in our lives.
It is still the desire of God that we strife to live by the ten commandments, and teach them to others.
The ten commandments teach us that:
Not obeying any of the commandments of God is sin.
Predigest is sin
God is no respecter of person, and neither should we be.
Yielding to temptation is sin
Temptation is not sin, but giving into sin is sin. When we act on the temptation of sin offered to us, we commit sin.
Not doing right is sin
We all know, if we do something that we know is wrong it is sin, but God says that if we know something is right, but we don't do it, that it is sin.
Unbelief is sin
Having no faith in God to salvation is sin. Unbelief, not believing in God, not having faith in God to the salvation of our souls is sin.
God says, whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23).
Pride is sin
Pride is sin (Proverbs 21:4).
Because of the sin committed against God by the first man created, Adam, God gave all men the law of sin and death.
The law of sin and death is that we are all born into sin, covered in sin, and that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life, received through faith in Christ Jesus to the saving of our souls.
Jesus made a way for us to escape the law of sin and death, by His shed blood on His cross, through His death and by His resurrection into new life, we too by believing on Him and the works that He did on His cross for us, we can receive the gift of life, eternal salvation.
The sin of unbelief separates anyone from God for eternity.
Unbelief in God to salvation separates anyone from entering into everlasting life into the Kingdom of God.
Unbelief in God to salvation
All people either have faith in God to salvation, or they do not have faith in God to salvation, which is unbelief.
The one thing that separates the lost from the saved is their unbelief. The lost choose unbelief over believing in God to the salvation of their souls. The saved choose faith in God, which is to believe in God to the salvation of their souls.
Unbelief is a sin, because all unrighteousness is sin (1 John 5:17). Unbelief, like all unrighteousness, is sin against God Himself. Faithlessness is a sin against God.
God wants all of us to choose His salvation, trust and have faith in Him to save our souls, God wants everyone to choose life through salvation by faith in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:9; John 3:16; Deuteronomy 30:19; 2 Peter 3:9).
God wants you to be of them that believe to the saving of your soul. Have faith in God! (Mark 11:22)
Unbelief is a choice
Unbelief and faith are both a choice.
If you die without faith in God to salvation, then you choose eternal separation from God.
We are all given a choice to choose the salvation God offers us, through His love and His grace, or to choose a life apart from God, it is our choice.
God gives every human being free will, the ability to choose for themselves, whether or not to abide in Him and to accept His gift of salvation.
God does not force His love on anyone. God does not force us to accept His free gift of salvation. God never forces anyone to accept eternal life, it is our choice.
Not all men have faith in God (2 Thessalonians 3:2). Some people choose NOT to have faith in God, it is their choice.
We are NOT born with faith in God, but we are all born with free will to choose to believe in God.
There are consequences for the choices we make. If we choose life with God, by asking Him for His salvation, then we receive everlasting life; but, if we choose life without God, through unbelief in what God says is truth, then we receive damnation, which is separation from God for all eternity (Romans 13:2).
Two eternal destinies
God gives us the facts and lets us choose for ourselves. There are only two eternal destinies, eternal life or eternal death, God says choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Each person ever born is given the same choice of these two destinies, life or death. We must each decide for ourselves which one to choose.
God loves us ALL and does NOT want anyone to perish and spend eternity without Him (2 Peter 3:9). God loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him. God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him.
It is the will of God, the desire of God, that we ALL obtain His salvation, because God loves us and wants us all to spend eternity with Him, but He allows us free will to choose for ourselves.
Destiny of the unbelieving
The end of all unbelieving people is eternal death, because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
Hope for the unbelieving
Yes, there is hope for the unbelieving, if before they die, they turn from their unbelief and turn to God, have faith in God to save them from sin and death, trust in the grace of God to save their souls, believe in the love of God to forgive all their sins, cleanse their hearts and make them whole.
The salvation of God is given to ANYONE who believes in God to the saving of their souls.
The salvation of God is the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
When we place our trust and faith in the grace of God to save us from sin and death, when we believe Jesus died on His cross for our sins, so that we could be forgiven of our sins, and be reconciled to God by Jesus' resurrection from His grave to new life, we too can receive the salvation of God, which is eternal life (John 3:15-16; Romans 5:21; 1 John 5:20; Jude 1:21).
We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). We become the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).
God promises that sin ends in death, eternal separation from God.
The end of sin is death
God says that the end of sin is eternal death, which is separation from God for all eternity.
If you live in sin, serve sin, abide in sin, you will receive the reward of sin, which is eternal death, eternal separation from God.
We are able to bear all temptation.
We will never be given any temptation that we are not able to bear and resist.
No one is given temptation greater than we are able to bear (1 Corinthians 10:13)
The devil can only tempt us with sin. The devil cannot make us commit sin. The temptation of sin comes from satan, not from God.
Temptation does not come from God. God does NOT tempt anyone. God does not give us temptation. God gives us a way out of temptation.
You may have heard the saying, "the devil made me do it". No, the devil didn't force you to sin. Yes, the devil gives us the temptation of sin, but it is our choice alone to yield to the temptation and commit sin.
Remember, the temptation is NOT sin, but yielding to the temptation is sin. Jesus, the SON of GOD, was tempted with sin, but HE did NOT yield to the temptation, Jesus never sinned.
Satan didn't force Adam and Eve to sin against God. Satan didn't hold them down and shove the forbidden fruit down their throats, against their will. Satan has limited power over humankind.
Satan offered Adam and Eve sin, satan tempted them with sin, satan gave them temptation, but it was Adam's choice and Eve's choice to yield to the temptation and commit the sin against God.
And just like then, satan tempts us today with sin, and just like then, it is our choice if we yield to temptation and sin against God, it is our choice if we say NO to temptation and NO to sin.
God wants us all to say NO to temptation and NO to sin. God wants us ALL to choose life over death. God wants us ALL to choose to follow the righteousness of God, rather than follow the unrighteousness of satan. God wants us ALL to come to Him, be with Him for eternity in His Kingdom. God doesn't want any person to perish, to die in sin and be separated from Him for eternity.
God promises that the wages of sin is death, that the end result of living a life to sin is death and separation from Him for eternity.
God promises that if we want eternal life with Him, that He will help us. All we need to do is have faith that God is able to save us from sin and death, and that through faith in Jesus Christ we can receive God's salvation.
Sin separates anyone from God. It doesn't matter who you think you are, sin separates you from God. Sin separates me from God. Sin separates all people from God.
Sin will never be in the presence of God. The realm of God, the Kingdom of God, Heaven, the throne of God is sinless, without sin. No sin exists with God.
To come to God, to be with God for eternity, to receive eternal life, we must be free from sin, sin must be purged, removed from our lives.
We are all born into sin, because Adam and Eve sinned against God. We are all sinners. In order to see God, be with God for eternity after we die, we must be cleansed from all our sin.
Through the Grace of God, we are given a way out of sin and death, we are given a way to be with God, and the way is Jesus Christ, the SON of GOD. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins, purged from sin, cleansed of all our sins, made pure, justified, sanctified, redeemed, and reconciled to God.
By believing in Jesus Christ we can be saved from sin and death.
Sin can be overcome
God promises all people that we can overcome sin, with the power of Christ given to us through salvation. We can overcome sin and death through the salvation of God.
By salvation through Christ Jesus, we can overcome sin and death, because He has overcome sin and death (Revelation 2:7, 11, 3:5, 21; 12:11, 21:7; 1 John 4:4; 5:4-5).
God promises a way to escape all sin.
God promises to make us a way to escape all sin that tempts us (1 Corinthians 10:13).
God gives us a way out of sin. Sin is NOT from God.
The power of sin is never greater than the power of Almighty God. God's power is always greater than any power sin has.
If you are a child of God, by receiving the salvation of God through faith in Christ Jesus, then you have the power of God abiding in you to overcome sin, resist sin, avoid sin, and escape from all sin.
Greater is He (God) that is in you, than he (satan) that is in this world.
Where did sin originate? What is the origin of sin?
Sin did NOT originate with God. God cannot sin. Sin is NOT of God in any way. God is NOT responsible for sin (James 1:13).
Sin originated with the devil, but sin was given birth in humanity through Adam and Eve in this world (Romans 5:12).
Through the rebellion of Adam and Eve against God, in the Garden of Eden, where they disobeyed the command of God, sin infected humanity. Sin is inherited into every human being, from the sins of Adam and Eve.
We are all born with sin and with a sinful nature. Our carnal flesh is prone to sin, but each person is also born with free will; we all have the same choice, to choose the salvation of God and receive the power to overcome sin in our life. Sin is a choice each person makes.
Every person born both inherits a sinful nature AND every person born has free will to choose the salvation of God, and therefore is responsible for choosing sin.
We are enabled and born with free will, just like Adam and Eve, to choose right or choose wrong, to obey God or disobey God, to rebel against God or serve and obey God, to accept God's gift of salvation or reject it.
Each person is responsible for their own sin. The fact that Adam sinned first, does not excuse us from being responsible for our own sin, because we all have free will to choose who we are to obey. We can choose to obey sin, or we can choose to obey God.
Yes, we are all born into sin, but we do NOT have to accept a life of sin, because God made us a way to escape sin, which is by faith in His Son, Christ Jesus to salvation.
God promises us power to overcome sin through salvation, which is by accepting in faith His grace to the salvation of our souls.
Using sin makes us a sinner. Using sin makes us the servant of sin.
What about those people who say that they don't sin, that they have "never been a sinner", that say, "I've never sinned"?
God says in His Holy Word, that ALL people have sinned and fell short of the glory of God.
Since, God says that ALL have sinned, if we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar.
The good news, is that God promises ALL people who confess their sins to Him, admit to God you are a sinner, that He will forgiven your sins.
God says all have sinned
Please note the scripture says for all have sinned. This scripture uses the past tense have sinned. This scripture says that at one point in everyone's life, when we reach the age of accountability toward God, we have all sinned. This scriptures does NOT give people a license to sin. This scripture does NOT give people excuse to live in sin.
Before we are saved, we live in sin, after we are saved we do NOT live in sin.
When we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ to salvation, we are cleansed from all sin. God desires that His children, the saved in Christ, to remain free from sin, DO NOT sin. Sin is in the past lives of believers. The death and resurrection of Jesus overcame sin and death for all the saved in Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus set believers free from sin, we are to sin no more, because as Christ did, we put to death sin in our lives.
Receiving salvation does not give a person license to live in sin, NO receiving God's gift of salvation gives us the power to overcome sin in our lives. We are saved from sin and death. Sin has no rule over the lives of faithful believers of Jesus, because we put on Christ and are given victory from sin. The death and resurrection of Jesus cut the chains of our bondage to sin, we were made free through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. Jesus paid the final price for our freedom from sin and death forevermore.
By one man sin entered into the world
Through Adam, one man, sin entered into the world, and death because of sin. Therefore sin and death are passed onto all people, because we all are descendants of Adam and therefore all have sinned. Because of Adam's sin we all have the curse of sin and death.
By One death was destroyed
Through Jesus, one man, sin and death were destroyed. By the sacrifice and death of Jesus the whole world's sins can be forgiven. And by the resurrection of Christ Jesus we too can receive eternal life.
Those who sin are of the devil
Those who sin, sin against God
All who commit sin are the servant of sin.
If you sin, you become a servant of sin, you serve sin and not God.
Those who sin hath not God
Only God is without sin. Jesus Christ is the only one in the flesh who was without sin in this world.
The children of God are NOT to sin, but because we are still in our earthly flesh and bones bodies sin is all around us, we have a constant war with our Spirit and our flesh to sin.
The children of God are NOT to sin, because we are born of God and Christ dwells inside of each child of God.
If we inadvertently sin, we have an advocate, Jesus, who will forgive us of our sins, if we ask for forgiveness and repent of our sins.
Now we know that ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS is SIN, and that anyone who sins is called a sinner, who exactly are sinners? Am I a sinner?
Anyone who sins is a sinner. We all sin therefore we are all sinners.
Sin entered into the world by one man, Adam. Death is the result of sin. Therefore death is given to all people, for all have sinned.
All humankind is born into sin. No one is born without sin.
Anyone who sins is a sinner. God says that those who sin will die.
We are all sinners, therefore we will all die because of sin, But God loves us and gave us a way out of death, which is the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ who can give us eternal life, so we do not need to die because of our sins.
Jesus came to save us from our sins.
Believing in Jesus Christ to the salvation of our souls, saves us from our sins.
By faith, believing in Jesus, the Son of God, we are saved from our sins and from death.
By mercy and truth sin is removed
Repentance is the process of feeling regret, remorse and sorrow for sin and turning from sin and dedicating oneself to the amendment of one's life.
Repentance is always change.
When we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour of our life, Jesus lives in us and we see the truth through Him.
Jesus opens our eyes to the light and we see ourselves as he sees us. Jesus allows us to see our sinful life as He sees it and we no long can live in our old life of sin. Jesus changes our way of thinking. We cannot put on our old life of sin, because we have a new life, we are a new creation in Christ.
No, repentance of sin is not confession of sin, they are separate issues because God says so in His word. The scriptures say repentance is change of behavior and attitude and heart, where confession is verbal from the mouth.
Confession is the outward, verbal proclamation that Jesus is Lord. With the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10), but the act of salvation is the operation of God through faith in His Son (Colossians 2:12). No amount of "words" that we confess saves anyone; salvation is the gift of God from God alone through faith alone.
There have been false teachers, since the beginning of time, teaching other than God's word, teaching that salvation is somehow obtained by certain "special words" of confession. This is not the case, because God alone saves, not by words, not by any works or things that we can do, God saves through faith not confession of any kind.
The act of confession has never and will never save anyone from sin and death. We are NOT saved by words, we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ as the Lord of our life (Galatians 3:26).
We are not saved by words, that we may or may not say, we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, by the renewing of our spirit and soul through regeneration, through sanctification by the Blood of Christ, through reconciliation to God through faith alone.
The Holy Word of God states that one day every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Those who have gone through this life refusing to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord of their life, who refuse to place their faith in Christ Jesus to salvation will die in their sins, and be separated from God for all eternity.
Salvation is made in our heart, in our spirit, in our soul, not by words we just say from our lips, our words of salvation comes from our heart not just our lips.
Remission of sins
God says we are to sin not. We are not to sin.
Moses said fear the Lord and sin not
Stand in awe and sin not
If we keep our heart on God, our thoughts, if we remember how wonderful God is and all he means to us, we will stand in awe of God and sin not.
We are warned not to sin
Awake to righteousness and sin not
Be angry at evil and sin not
We fight a war with the devil every day. The minute we let our guard down he will come into our lives and try and destroy us. We must be vigilant and determined and angry at evil to keep it out of our lives.
The word of God was written that we may not sin
If we sin we have an advocate with God the Father, who is Jesus Christ the righteous. Jesus is our advocate if we sin.
We can see that the scriptures say if we sin, not when we sin.
The word of God reads over and over we are not to sin, but if we do we have an advocate with God who can redeem us and forgive us from our sin, which is His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Don't let sin rule your life
Jesus Christ set us free from sin
When we are saved, we no longer serve sin, we are free from sin though Jesus Christ.
Through salvation, knowing God and His word, knowing His truth, we can avoid all sin.
Knowing the word of God
We avoid sin by studying and mediating in the word of God we can avoid sin.
We can avoid sin by knowing God, seeking God, worshiping God, loving God, listening to God, standing in awe of God we can avoid sin.
We can avoid sin by trusting in God.
We can avoid sin by knowing the Truth, which is Jesus Christ, we are set free from the bondage of sin. We are set free from sin by the grace of the Lord. The Grace of God is bigger than sin. God is larger than anything. Sin is not to rule our lives, Jesus is to rule our lives.
If we follow Christ, then we will avoid sin. When we are saved, we die to sin, as Christ died to sin, and those who are dead are freed from sin (Romans 6:7). God says it is impossible to serve Him in righteousness and serve unrighteousness at the same time, so if we are following after righteousness, following Christ, we will not be following sin.
All who are Christ's follow Him, because they know Him (John 10:14, 27).
Walk in the Spirit
We avoid sin by walking in the Spirit of God.
Depart from evil
We avoid sin by departing from evil.
Stay in obedience to God
We avoid sin by submitting ourselves to God. God promises that if we submit ourselves to Him, and resist the devil, that the devil will flee from us.
If we remain submitted to God, we will be obeying His word.
We CANNOT live in SIN and still go to Heaven, because God says sin will NOT enter Heaven.
God is righteous and will NOT let unrighteousness enter His kingdom.
SIN will never enter the Kingdom of God.
Unrighteousness will NOT enter Heaven.
Think about it, how could sin coexist with God? God is sinless. The presence of God is free from all sin.
If you practice sin you are unrighteous and God says that the unrighteousness will NOT enter Heaven.
God says be not deceived and then goes on to explain in detail who are unrighteous. So many people are deceived into believing the lies of the devil, being that for some reason, that they are exempt from certain scriptures. They falsely believe the devil straight to hell.
Please note that God did NOT list any exceptions to this scripture. What does this mean? Anyone who is unrighteous, who believe they are saved or unsaved, will NOT inherit the kingdom of God, be not deceived. The word of God is truth.
God is telling us all, even if we believe that we are saved, that if we are unrighteous, we will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived.
If you say to yourself that doesn't mean me, because I am saved, that scripture is only for the lost, be not deceived, God didn't list any exemptions. And the scriptures tells us all not to add to or take away from the word of God.
If sin cannot enter heaven, and everyone sins, how can anyone be saved and inherit the kingdom of God?
If no one is without sin, how can anyone be saved?
This same question was asked of Jesus.
We must remember GOD is NOT man. We think in terms of what we know, here on earth, in this world. God is NOT of this world and God can do things that we cannot understand. This is were faith comes in, we must have faith in God that we are saved and NOT think of our salvation in terms of this world.
All that follow Christ will be saved
We are to follow Christ no matter what the cost.
Those who endure until the end shall be saved
All who remain in the faith of God will be saved.
How can an unrighteous, sinful person enter Heaven? They must be purged of their sin. Their sin must be removed, in order to enter the kingdom of God.
God sees two types of people in the whole world - lost and saved. God sees His children and the rest of the world. God sees those who have accepted His free gift of eternal salvation, and those who have not. God sees all who believe in Him, and those who do not believe in Him for their salvation.
The lost are people who have not received salvation, who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
The saved are people who have received God's free gift of salvation, who have accepted Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as their personal Lord and Saviour.
The removal of sin is different for the lost than for the saved.
1. Before salvation we are considered LOST - we must receive salvation.
2. After salvation we are considered SAVED - we must confess our sin and repent of sin.
God says both types of people, lost and saved, all people must remove sin from their lives in order to inherit the kingdom of God, go to Heaven.
The only way to remove sin is through faith, believing in Jesus Christ.
The Lost must receive Salvation
The lost are all people who are without God. We are saved from our sins through the blood Jesus shed when He was crucified on a cross.
Jesus was the only sacrifice God would accept for the sins of the world.
Jesus died so that the people of this world could live.
After Jesus died and was buried, He rose from His grave three days later. Jesus ascended into Heaven and sits on the right had side of God. We can live because Jesus lives!
If we believe in Jesus, the Son of God, we can also be resurrected into eternal life. This will happen either when we die, or when Jesus returns, which ever happens first.
In order to receive eternal life, gain entrance into Heaven, we must be free from sin and this happens when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour and we receive the free gift of salvation from God.
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
The Saved must Confess and Repent of all sin
After we are saved, if we inadvertently sin, we can receive forgiveness from our sins by confessing our sin to Jesus and repenting of our sin.
If we confess and repent of our sins, Jesus will forgive us our sins.
We can know that all our sins are forgiven because the word of God tells us that all our sins are forgiven.
Our sins are forgiven because we asked for forgiveness in the name of Jesus.
Our sins are removed from us, as far as the east is from the west.
Knowledge of salvation
We have knowledge of salvation by the remission of our sins.
How do we have knowledge of salvation? by the remission of our sins.
The Spirit of God reveals salvation to our spirit. God's Spirit confirms salvation to our spirit.
We confessed and believe and repent
Faith in Jesus Christ
We are saved by God's grace through believing in Jesus Christ to salvation.
God says through His holy word that there is a sin that will not be forgiven, which is the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.
If we obey God and stay in fellowship with Him and stay in His word, we will not be able to commit blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.
If we stay in our faith and believe in Jesus Christ we will not be able to commit blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.
God says NO. You are either attached to Christ, or a life of sin. You are either drinking from the cup of Christ or the cup of devils. You are either dining at the table of righteousness or the table of sin. You are either saved or you are lost.
When you are genuinely saved, God says that your spirit is regenerated and is separated from the lusts of this world, you become a new creature, old things are passed away, old sin habits are gone from your desires. You want to live for Christ, you desire the ways of God, not the ways of the flesh.
Many people "say" that they are saved, "say" that they are a Christian, but continue to live a life of willful sin. No one can serve the devil and serve God.
You may say, "Okay, but that doesn't say a person is not saved, it just says that you cannot do both, sin and be righteous."
But the word of God does say just that. If we do not obey God, abide in Jesus, we cannot be saved.
Corruption, which is sin, cannot inherit incorruption, which is the kingdom of God.
All unrighteousness is sin and NO sinful person will enter heaven.
The end of all sin is death. ALL PEOPLE who willfully commit sin receive eternal death and separation from God for eternity.
God said be NOT deceived, ALL unrighteous people will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
ALL people who live in sin day in and day out, serve satan, and will NOT inherit the kingdom of God, and it does not matter what you call yourself.
This scripture from God includes ALL PEOPLE, everyone, no one is exempt from the word of God.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED!!!
The devil has deceived many, many people into a false sense of security regarding their eternity. The devil tells many people that they don't have to worry because they say that they are saved. The devil tells people just say your saved, just say you are a Christian and you don't have to worry about a thing.
The devil is dead wrong. And those who follow the devil will be just like him, dead wrong. Saying that you are saved, or saying that you are a Christian will NOT gain you entrance into heaven, into the kingdom of God.
The word of God reads we must do the will of God, take up our cross and daily follow Christ. Obedience is the product of true salvation. Obeying God is our evidence of our salvation. Doing the will of God is having faith in God.
Salvation is not in words, it is in faith, deep heart faith in God.
We all obtain salvation the same way, by the grace of God through faith in God. We do not obtain salvation by ourselves, nothing that we can do can gain us salvation.
Salvation is achieved by believing in the Son of God, Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9) to salvation. Obedience to God cannot gain us salvation, but obedience to God cannot be separated from faith and salvation. Obedience to God is produced by salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Through faith we are saved, not works of obedience. We have faith because of the grace of God. Obeying God, answering His call to salvation is following the will of God.
It is God's will that all people everywhere obtain salvation. Salvation is not just for certain people on this earth, who do certain things a certain way, but salvation is God's gift to all people everywhere who come to Him through faith in His Son, Christ Jesus.
Who enters the kingdom of Heaven? Those who do the will of God the Father, not those who do the will of man by ceremonies, or by rituals, or by works, or by joining some place or some organization.
Will you be the one talked about in this scripture? Does God know you?
What will God tell you when you die? You will say "Lord, Lord", but what will God say? Will God say "I never knew you, depart from me, you that live in sin."?
Or will God say "Enter into Heaven, my true and faithful servant".
Obedience to God, following Christ after we are saved, is the product of salvation, not the cause of salvation. Obeying God is removing sin from our lives. Being a child of God is sinning no more.
Sin cannot be the master of our lives. Believers have only one master Jesus Christ.
If you are living in sin, there is still hope. Repent of your sin and ask Jesus to be the only Lord and Saviour of your life.
Receive salvation while there is still time.
Blaspheme against the Holy Ghost is unbelief, standing against Him, denying Him, remaining in unbelief of Him. Blaspheme is denying the Holy Ghost, denying God, denying Christ, denying the One True Living Jehovah Almighty God, and denying the necessity of the salvation of God by His grace through faith.
When we are saved, we receive the Holy Ghost.
If we throw out our faith, if we deny God, if we deny the Holy Ghost, we have blasphemed against the Holy Ghost, and God says in His word that this will not ever be forgiven.
If we deny our spirit, given to us from Almighty God, if we deny our faith in Jesus Christ, He will deny us on judgment day.
So, the only way you can lose your salvation is if you throw it away. This is a conscious effort on your part. Please know that this is not something you can do by mistake, or by accident, it is done on purpose.
Once a person blasphemes against the Holy Ghost, throws God out of their life forever, abandons God, denies Christ, forfeits eternal, everlasting life, God is separated from them.
Their heart hardens, their heart dies and they cannot see God anymore. They join satan and satan's angels and become permanently separated from God for eternity.
Just as God eternally separated Himself from one of his favorite angels, who rebelled against God and fell from grace and from heaven and became satan, and the angels that followed satan, God separates from those who, without hope of ever returning to God, those who blaspheme the Holy Ghost.
All this is done in the heart, it is not mere words, and only God knows your heart, no one else knows what is in your heart, but God.
You might say, I don't want to do this by mistake and lose my salvation, how can I be sure I have not blasphemed against the Holy Ghost?
The fact that you are reading this indicates that you probably have not blasphemed against the Holy Ghost.
Those that have blasphemed against the Holy Ghost are completely cut off from God, are permanently separated from God.
People who are separated from God, do not seek God.
They have no vision for God, they cannot see God, they cannot hear the voice of God, they do not know God and they do not want to know anything about God. The Holy Ghost is gone from within them.
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and have accepted Him into your life, and have asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and you have turned from sin, you are saved and have not committed the unforgivable sin against God.
If you stay in Christ Jesus, abide in Christ, and you do not sin willfully, depart from evil, and you repent when you do sin, and you obey God's commandments, and study the word of God, and love the children of God, you do not have to worry about committing this sin against God.
When you are saved, Christ is in you, abiding inside of you, you are not able to blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, when we walk close with God.
This unforgivable sin is only for those who deny Jesus and God the Father and the Holy Ghost. A true believer of Jesus Christ cannot deny God, blaspheme against the Holy Ghost.
Those people who have cut all ties to God, denied God and Jesus, who have hardened their hearts against God, who have denied the voice of God in their hearts, speaking to them, who have blasphemed against the Holy Ghost, denying salvation are the only ones who God cannot forgive and therefore none of these people will enter the kingdom of God and they will never receive eternal life.
I personally cannot see how any true born-again believer of Christ could ever reach this point in their life.
It is not for me or you to judge. God is the only judge.
If a person is saved, why can't they live any way they want to?
God tell us all in His Holy Word, that we can't live in sin, because God can't go there.
God cannot live in sin. God does NOT live in sin. God has nothing to do with sin.
If we choose to live in sin, then we are choosing to live without God.
If we attach ourselves to sin, then we are detaching ourselves from God. We are cut off from God by our choice to sin.
God promised never to leave His children, but many times His children decide to leave Him. God does not leave us, but we leave God through sin.
God does not force His salvation on anyone, and God does not force anyone to remain with Him in faith to salvation.
Leaving God, departing from the faith, forsaking God, denying Christ, turning from God, all these departures from God are listed and warned against in the Word of God.
The apostles preached about the consequences of leaving God, departing from God, (if not repented of) is worse than never knowing God at all (2 Peter 2:21).
God tells us in His Word that we must overcome sin. God does not leave us alone to overcome sin, but empowers us all with His power (received through salvation) to overcome sin. Do you believe that God can overcome sin? Yes, He already has. Do you believe that with the power of God that you can overcome sin? Yes, I can.
Overcoming sin is not a suggesting from God. God didn't say that we are to try and overcome sin if we can, but God tells us all that we must overcome sin to inherit all the things of God (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 3:5, 21, 21:7).
When we are overcome with sin, we are in bondage (2 Peter 2:19), we search out sin, we seek sin, we pursue sin, we are consumed with sin, then we become the servants of sin ((Romans 6:16), and attached to the devil by sin. Through sin we detach ourselves from God, we forsake God, we abandon God. We are either servants of sin (attached to sin), or we are servants of righteousness, servants of God (attached to God), but NO ONE can be both, NO ONE can be attached to sin AND attached to God.
We are either free from sin or we are free from righteousness, because when we are servants of sin, we are void of righteousness (Romans 6:20).
God says when we are saved we are overcome with Christ, we put on Christ and His righteousness, we search out God, we seek fellowship with Christ, we desperately pursue righteousness, we attach ourselves to the things of God, the ways of God, and we abandon and forsake sin.
Salvation in Christ frees us from all sin and enables us to become the faithful servants of God (Romans 6:22).
God never said that overcoming sin is automatic with salvation. God did say that He Himself will give us the power to overcome all sin (1 John 4:4), because He has overcome all sin (John 16:33). God did say that with every temptation to sin that is presented to us, that He Himself will give us a way to escape it. God also promises never to leave us, God is with us always (Matthew 28:20), good times and bad times, highs and lows, when we are in trouble to help us find our way out.
The Holy Spirit of God is our Comforter, our Protector, our Guide, our Teacher to the things of God.
The Holy Spirit of God is given to every child of God through salvation. The Holy Spirit is given to us to comfort us and guide us through this life to God. The Holy Spirit convicts our hearts of sin.
The Spirit of God Himself tells our spirit inside of every believer, when we are about to fall into sin and when we have sinned. This warning system was gifted to us by God to enable us to fight sin. The Holy Spirit is our sin alarm.
If we neglect the Holy Spirit's voice, His alarm, warning us of sin, telling us to be careful that danger is near; then, we grieve the Holy Spirit and we are entering very dangerous territory.
Every time we reject God by ignoring the Holy Spirit's voice, warning us of danger, God's prompt for us to avoid sin, we are in danger of hardening our hearts against God.
Hardening of the heart is when we no longer hear the voice of God. When our hearts are so hard that not ever the voice of God Himself can penetrate it, then we have hardening of the heart.
Hardening of the heart is created by rejecting God. Hardening of the hearts is created when we decide that we have no need for God. Hardening of the heart develops differently for different people. It could take months or years, only God knows when it has taken place.
Hardening of the heart can graduate to the point of no returning to God. The point of no returning to God is not that God will not take back any repentant sinner, but that you will not want to go back to God from your life of sin.
When we sin we are believing a lie from the devil over the truth of God. All sin is deceitfulness and can lead to the hardening of your heart (Hebrews 3:13), to the point that you cannot hear the voice of God ever again.
The children of God hear the voice of God, the Holy Spirit of God speaks to our spirit.
The Scriptures tell us that today if we hear His voice, harden not your heart - don't reject God's voice, listen to Him, talk with Him, answer Him today (Hebrews 3:15).
