noise to the rock of our salvation.
Psalm 95:1 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises
unto my God while I have any being.
Psalm 146:2 |
Have you ever looked at the word blessing, the last part
of the word is 'sing'. It is not a coincidence that when we sing
to our Lord God, that we receive a blessing.
I don't believe that we as adults sing enough to our Lord.
We sing a lot when we are children, but something happens when we get older, we
let the cares of the day, our jobs and our lives take the song out of our
hearts.
Let's be like children and sing a new song to the Lord
every day!
Everyone living today has been blessed by God in so many ways.
Maybe you have been blessed with godly parents, a godly spouse, or precious children.
Maybe you have been blessed with a place to live and food on the table every day.
Maybe you have been blessed with a great church home and friends that care about
you. Maybe you have been blessed with a job. We have so much to sing
about and praise God!
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare:
but
the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
Proverbs 29:6 |
All who are saved, have been blessed with the gift of
salvation, by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians

When God parted the Red Sea, so that Moses and the Israelites could
cross to safety, and then closed up the sea on the Egyptians pursuing them,
destroying them all, Moses gave thanks to God in song.
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto
the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously:
the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

There are so many wonderful, beautiful songs to sing to the
Lord. Following are a few of my favorites.
How Great Thou Art
Oh, How I love Jesus
Breathe on me
Amazing Grace
Always
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
There is a name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest name on earth.
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!
It tells me of a Saviour's love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner's perfect plea.
It tells me what my Father hath,
In store for every day,
And tho' I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.
It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe,
Who in each sorrow bears a part,
That none can bear below.
Breathe on me, breath of God
Bring my life close to your spirit
Beat in me heart of God
my soul's in prayer to be near it
Focus my eyes
to only see what's you
and breathe on me
Breathe on me breath of God
Breathe on me breath of God
I am a vessel to be filled
comfort me, peace of God
Lord, I am restless for your will
Silence my fears
so that I may hear from you
and breathe on me
Breathe on me breath of God
Surround me in your glory
make your presence known
Set the path of grace before me
let your breath become my own
Breathe on me breath of God
Cover my sin with your mercy
Speak to me word of God
Give me a light for my journey
Show me your way
and draw me close to you
and breathe on me
Breathe on me breath of God
Breathe on me breath of God
When you're feeling down
And it just seems your world is falling all around
No need to fear, I'll still be there, to love you
When your friends are gone
And it just seems like you've been fighting all alone
I'll dry your tear, I'll still be there to love you
Even though sometimes you feel it hurts to be alone
But I know that one day soon
All the pain will be behind us
No more sadness will find us
Remember this, it won't be long
We'll be together, you just keep holding on
And in that day, you'll hear me say
I'll love you always
We'll be together and we'll be going home
And till that time, when we meet face to face
We're going to sing about the miracle of grace
But until then, know this my friend
I'll love you always
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!
Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.
This song of praise to our Lord God was penned in
1700s by John Newton following his salvation.
Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine
by Fanny J. Crosby 1820-1915
Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of Glory
divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in
His blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Saviour all the
day long; this is my story, this is my song, praising my Saviour all the day
long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight, visions of rapture now
burst on my sight; Angels descending bring from above, echoes of mercy, whispers
of love. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Saviour all the
day long; this is my story, this is my song, Praising my Saviour all the day
long.
Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Saviour am happy
and blest; watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost
in His love. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Saviour
all the day long; this is my story, this is my song, praising my Saviour all the
day long.
We should thank our Lord God every day for giving us
salvation and for His blessed assurance of that salvation!
If you haven't read the story of Fanny Crosby, I recommend
that you do, it is a wonderful story of inspiration, miracles and courage about

Singing is important to our Lord God and should be important
to us, His children. "O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you
forever".
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and
not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

When we get to Heaven, we will be singing praise
to our Lord Jehovah God for all
of eternity.
When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining like the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise,
Than when we first begun.
