What is the Spirit of GOD?

We have a spirit, but GOD is a Spirit.

We know by reading the word of God, that God is a Spirit.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

The scriptures also tell us that all who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Since God says we must worship him in spirit and in truth, we need to know how to receive the spirit and the truth.

Notice the word in, the scriptures do NOT say we must worship with spirit, or with a spirit, the scriptures say we must worship in spirit.

This is very important. God said we MUST worship him IN spirit and IN truth, and NOT with spirit and truth.

In order to worship in spirit, the Spirit of God must be in us, inside of us, dwelling in us, abiding inside of our heart, mind and soul.

God does NOT want the Spirit of God with us, God wants the Spirit of God in us, abiding inside of all of His children.

Why do we need the Spirit of God IN us, and NOT just with us? What does it matter if the Spirit of God is IN me or WITH me?

The most simple explanation that I can give is this, I can have food and water WITH me, I can have it all around me, I can even hold it, touch it and even wear it, but unless the food and water is IN me, I cannot LIVE, unless I eat the food and drink the water, and the food and water goes INSIDE of me I die, without the food and water IN me I die.

No human being can live without food and water inside of them, in their body.

IN or WITH? It does matter very much, without the Spirit of God IN you, you cannot receive everlasting LIFE!

(This is why so many false translations of the word of God have removed the word "in" and replaced it with the word "with". A true translation of the word of God does NOT remove important words, nor deletes or perverts the name of God.)

True worshipers of God worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:23

Why do believers of God worship Him in spirit and in truth? Because our Father God seeks such people to worship Him.

How can I receive the Spirit of GOD?

Human beings are NOT born with the Spirit of God.

Every person must make their own choice to receive the Spirit of God personally.

The scriptures show us that:

The flesh cannot please God

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:8

The children of God are NOT in the flesh, but in the Spirit
The children of God, the saved, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, and the Spirit of God dwells IN us! Halleluiah!!

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:9

The Spirit of God dwells in the children of God
Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ is not one of God's
Any person who does NOT have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of His children.
The children of God have Christ in them, their body is dead because of sin

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

The Spirit of life dwells in the children of God because of righteousness
The Spirit of God that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in the children of God

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11

God who raised up Christ from the dead will quicken our mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in us

Why didn't GOD give His Spirit to everyone when we are born?

Why didn't God just give His Spirit to everyone when we are born?

Receiving the Spirit of God is a choice. God is love. He created every human being out of love.

God loves us so much that He does NOT force Himself on anyone.

Have you ever loved anyone? Most people have loved someone in their life time. Do you think that you can make anyone love you? No, you cannot force someone to love you, they either love you or they don't. Love is NOT forced, love is given.

God does NOT want to force us to love him, God wants us to give our love to Him.

From the moment that Adam sinned against God in the garden of Eden, God gave man a choice, whether to follow Him or not.

Salvation is a choice that every human being must make before they die.

There is not a second chance to accept salvation after we die, because God said we die once and then after that the judgment.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

We either choose God or choose the world. We either choose to live for God, or we choose to live for the world. We either choose to love God, or we choose to love the world.

Every human being born in the world was wonderfully made by God.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:14

God is the Creator. Only God created everything in the universe. God is the Creator of all things.

Man, humankind, is God's most cherished creation. The love of God exceeds our understanding. The love of God is unfeigned. The love of God is boundless and endless. There is no other love that compares to the love of God. We can never out love God. God's love supersedes all love that we know.

We all know that no one can force anyone to love them. Even if you could make someone say that they love you and act like it, deep down in their heart they would NOT truly love you. Their love would NOT be truly and freely given from within their heart.

Love forced is NOT love. God did not want to force us to love him. God let man choose to love Him and choose to follow Him.

Loving God today and every day for the rest of our life is our choice.

If we choose, with all our heart, to love God and follow in His ways and obey His word, God will give us His Spirit, the Spirit of God.

When we accept the free gift of salvation from God, by grace through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, God's gift to us is His Spirit, the Spirit of God.

When we become the children of God, we are given the Spirit of God.

Why do I need the Spirit of GOD?

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we cannot know God, we cannot be with God.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-12

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we cannot see God.

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we cannot become the children of God.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Romans 8:14-16

Believers of Christ are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in us.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we are not saved from death.

Without the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we do not have everlasting life.

What does the Spirit of GOD give the children of GOD?

The Spirit of God gives believers entrance into the kingdom of God, by being born again of the Spirit of God.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:5-7

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:34-36

Who does NOT have the Spirit of GOD?

Anyone who is not saved, the unbelieving, the lost do NOT have the Spirit of God.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

Those who do not call Jesus Lord

People who do not call Jesus the Lord do not have the Spirit of God in them. People who call Jesus accursed do not have the Spirit of God.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 12:3

Those who do not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:2-3

Is the Spirit of GOD the Holy Ghost?

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3:16

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Mark 1:8

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1:5

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Acts 10:47

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? Acts 11:15-17

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28

There is only one God. There is only one Spirit of God.
