Question: What is the difference between Justification and Sanctification?
Answer: Justification is receiving salvation and Sanctification is living salvation.
Justification is the righteousness of God. Justification is the act of receiving the salvation of God. Justification is required to see God, be with God for all eternity.
Without justification you do not have the righteousness of God whereby you are reconciled to God, whereby you become a child of God, adopted into the family of God, whereby you are saved.
Justification is received by faith in God to salvation, believing that God alone can and will save you.
Christ Jesus created justification and gifts it to mankind through faith in Him, by His resurrection (Romans 4:25). Justification of life is by the righteousness of one Jesus Christ (Romans 5:18).
No person is justified by their works, we are justified by the faith of Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:16). Before salvation we are without righteousness; we have no righteousness without God. This is why our works before salvation cannot save us, because we have no righteous works to give God until after we are saved.
Sanctification is the holiness of God received at salvation and lived out - throughout the life of every believer.
Sanctification is the ongoing process of salvation, were we are made holy, and live holy to God, because He is holy, live in holiness to God, reconciled to God and made worthy through Christ to enter into His Kingdom (2 Thessalonians 2:13).
Sanctification is living Christ. Sanctification is living holy unto God, for God, because of God, every day of our lives.
Sanctification is a lifetime journey of holiness to God, purposefully separating from sin and twistedness of this world.
Sanctification is born when we receive Christ and know that He died for our sins. Sanctification is lived by acknowledging that we died with Christ to sin, we commit our lives to serving God, to holiness through Christ forevermore.
Sanctification is a commitment to God lived by faith everyday to live our lives through Christ in the holiness of God, set apart from the world.
Justification is receiving salvation and sanctification is living that salvation.
Justification is receiving Christ and sanctification is living with Christ, through Christ, putting on Christ, conforming our lives to Christ everyday of our lives until we see Christ.
We receive, maintain, and retain sanctification by living in faith to God every day, by overcoming sin in our lives with Christ, abstaining from fornication, forsaking iniquity, avoiding evil, because God called us into His Holiness, and we are to be holy because He is Holy, and because we love Him with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, with all our strength forevermore (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7; 1 Peter 1:15-16 Romans 12:21; 1 John 5:4-5; Revelation 21:7).
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 20:7
Justification is the birth of salvation and sanctification is the life of salvation.
This section is for our readers. We ask a question for you to research and conduct your own Bible study and personal prayer time with God.
Can one be justified but not sanctified?
Conduct a personal bible study regarding justification and sanctification.
Here are some question you might wish to answer:
- Is justification the same as sanctification? Why?
- Is justification the same as salvation?
- When are we justified?
- Is justification required for salvation?
- Is sanctification required for eternal life?
- Are you justified? How do you know? What does it mean?
- Do you possess sanctification? How? In what way?
- Can one possess justification without sanctification? Explain.
Remember when we conduct Bible studies we are applying God's Word to our own lives, not to our neighbor's lives. We are to work out our own salvation, not workout our neighbor's salvation.
This is the day which the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 |
This is the day which the Lord hath made! The Lord God Almighty made this day. Today and every day we are given is made by God Himself and none other.
How often I get busy with my day, and neglect to thank my Lord God for the day, this day, that He has chosen to give to me.
How awesome is our God, to give us each and every day! The possibilities for this day are endless in Christ Jesus.
We will rejoice and be glad in it! I will rejoice and be glad in this day, this wonderful day that the Lord made for me!
My mood, my attitude is not based on things outside me, but is based on who is inside me. Because Jesus abides in me, I can rejoice and be glad in this day, and every other day.
I choose to thank God for this day, this day He made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it!
Join me today and rejoice in the Lord, this Lord's day that He has made for you and for me. Join me today and be glad today! Share a joyous smile with a stranger! Share the love of the Lord with someone new!
As the children of the most High God, we rejoice and are glad, every day for our Lord, our King, our God!
Thank you Jesus! Thank you, Thank you Jesus!
May the God of hope exceedingly fill the readers of this today, with all joy and peace!
