Question: What is the point of all this?
Answer: All this - faith, salvation, loving God, reading and studying His Word, learning about GOD is for our benefit, so that we can have an abundant life with God - a loving, living relationship with Almighty God.
We have more choices today than ever before. Choices to be anyone we want, choices to do things our parents could not do, choices to go places others dream about.
We all have choices for our lives. The most important choice that we will ever make in this life is whether or not we will have a relationship with God, as it is up to us - it is our choice.
The point of having a living, saving relationship with God is so that we can know God, so that we can serve God, so that we can receive His love and give His love to others, and so that we can live with God today and in the world to come.
The point of having all this - faith, salvation, learning His Word, praying and worshipping God is so that we can do the will of God and fulfill the plan that God has for our lives.
God has an awesome plan for your life. He has a purpose, a goal, a reason for creating your life. By seeking God's will for our lives we receive the blessings of God: peace, joy, love, comfort, forgiveness, strength, grace, mercy and hope.
God wants to give us more than we can ever imagine, so much more than this world has to give to us, if we will only let Him, if we will only trust Him, and allow Him into our lives.
The point of faith, salvation, living to GOD is to give God back the love that He has so freely given us.
We are given but one life to live and we have a choice how we are to live it; we can either live it for no reason or live it for a greater purpose, for God's purpose.
Please visit the Choices page to learn more about the choices we make.
This section is commentary from the authors of this website - From the heart about Loving GOD today.
From the heart of ... What is the point of all of this?
Why have faith? Why have salvation? Why study the word of God? Why pray? Why have a relationship and fellowship with Jesus? What really is the point of loving GOD today?
In the secular world I worked in IT, I worked with computers; I was a software implementation specialist. I trained groups and individuals how to best use their software. I gave them the tools to get everything out of the software that they had purchased and taught them the best practices to best utilize their program and their time. (I now use those experiences and knowledge of computers and training in this ministry.)
I know that GOD gifted in me the ability to comprehend complex software programs and gifted in me the ability to teach end users how to use them effectively and most efficiently. I didn’t wake up one day and say, “I am going to be a project manager”. No, I studied, I learned, I adapted, I changed my thinking. I opened myself up to the possibilities of becoming more than I had been.
This is basically the same principle that should be applied to our learning about GOD. We must open ourselves up to the possibilities of becoming more than we have been. We are to study, learn, adapt, and change our thinking. We desire to know more, we study and learn, we adapt and change our thinking. We conform ourselves to the mind of Christ.
When we surrender our lives to Christ, we allow the Holy Spirit to teach us about God. Through the knowledge of GOD our minds are recreated, renewed, retooled and regenerated. We learn from God about the things of God. The Holy Spirit teaches us how to effectively and efficiently use what we have learned to help ourselves and to help others.
GOD desires to give us all that we need to navigate this life. GOD wants to give us all the tools that we require to know Him and to serve Him, to find our unique God-given purpose in this life. All the wisdom that we need to comprehend the mysteries of GOD is available to us, if we only ask.
To be settled, rooted, established, steadfast, unmovable in the Word of God, in the things of God takes time and requires effort on our part. We are to be diligent and a student of God and the things of God, this is how we learn and this is how we become who God has intended us to always be.
The point of learning about GOD and the things that are important to GOD is all for our benefit. Everything GOD does is for our benefit, so that we can come to Him, come to know Him and receive all of His blessings and benefits. Come to Him and receive His love, His grace, His faith, His salvation and His eternal life.
Faith, salvation, the word of God, prayer - these are all tools gifted by God to us so that we can have a relationship with God, so that God can give us His love and that we can receive His love, so that we can live abundant productive joyful lives here today and in the world to come, and so that we can share the love of GOD with others.
To have a relationship with God, to be His child, to be part of His Kingdom, to receive His awesome love and to be able to love God with all my heart, with all my strength, with all my mind, with all I have and with all I am, that is the point of all of this.
This section is For Our Readers. We ask a question for you to research and conduct your own Bible study and personal prayer time with God.
For Our Readers: What is the point of all of this?
Have you asked yourself this question before? What is your answer? Has anyone ever asked you the reason of your hope and faith in God?
God tells us in His Word to always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks about your faith in God. Do you have an answer?
Today is a good time to prepare yourself with your answer.
Write down your answer, just as if you would be telling it to someone who asks you “What is the reason of the hope that is in you?” Pray about your answer, then open your Bible and find Scripture to go with your explanation.
When explaining your faith to anyone it is always good to quote the Bible. Our words may not reach that person, but God promises that His mighty Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). God placed His power in His written Word (Hebrews 4:12).
