In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
For God hath not appointed us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For ye have need of patience, that,
after ye have done
the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:36
That he no longer should live the rest of his time
in
the flesh to the lusts of men,
but to the will of God.
1 Peter 4:2
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:
but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:17
|
The will of God is God's desire, His plan,
His will, His choice, the desire of God.
The will of God is for all to obtain salvation
The will of God is for all people to obtain salvation through
faith in Jesus Christ.
And this is the will of him that sent me,
that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him,
may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:40 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our
Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the
truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4 |
After we obtain salvation, the will of God continues.
The will of God is for us NOT to sin
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification,
that ye should abstain from fornication:
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in
sanctification and honour;
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter:
because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you
and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 |
All unrighteousness is sin (1 John 5:17), the children
of God are NOT to sin, are not to walk in sin, are to forsake sin, because
Christ saved us from sin.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not;
for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
1 Corinthians 15:34
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down
upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:26-27
My little children, these things write I unto you, that
ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the
sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:1-3
|
The will of God is for His children to be separate from the world
As the children of God we are to be separated from the evil of
this world, as He is not of this world neither are we to be.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:16
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate,
saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the
Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh,
arm yourselves likewise with the same mind:
for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts
of men, but to the will of God.
1 Peter 4:1-2
|
The will of God is to give thanks in everything
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 |
We are to give thanks to God in every thing. We
are not to praise God to get us out of trouble, we are to praise God in spite
of the trouble we are in.
Because of Christ living inside of us, we can give God
thanks and praise and glory in any circumstance and through every season of our
lives.
We are to be content in whatever state we are in.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in
whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Philippians 4:11 |
We are to be content with what God has already given to us.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be
content with such things as ye have:
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5 |
True happiness, true contentment, true joy, true peace is when
we finally realize that God is enough.
As the children of God we have everything, we have
Christ, we are given Heaven, we will inherit the Kingdom of God, we will receive
the end of our faith, salvation and everlasting life with God for eternity.
Nothing else compares to what is promised to the children of the
Most High God.
As believers, we want to please God and do everything He wants us to do, we
want to pursue God, seek God, and do the will of God.
Seek the will of God
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:8
|
God says in His Holy word, that we are to be committed in
seeking the Kingdom of God. God is waiting on us to come to Him. God
promises that if we come after Him, seek Him, we will find Him.
In order to do the will of God, we must know
what it is; therefore we must earnestly seek God.
The word of God is the will of God.
The will of God is not unsearchable, the will of God is
not unattainable. The will of God is not some mystery we can never
know. The will of God is written out for us in the words of God, in
His Holy word, our Holy Bible.
God has written down His will in our Holy Bible.
The word of God is the will of God.
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1 John 1:1-3 |
The word of God and the Word of God
are in this scripture. Jesus Christ is the living Word of God,
who was with God before the beginning of ALL things. And the words
of God, the written word of God, was with God before
the beginning of ALL things.
Through God's words, know Jesus Christ is the Word.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth. John 1:14 |
Who was made flesh? God was manifest in the
flesh, who is Jesus Christ.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 |
Why was God manifested into flesh as Jesus Christ?
To destroy evil, to destroy ALL the works of the devil.
He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 |
The purpose of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is God
manifested in the flesh, was to destroy the works of the devil.
And Jesus Christ did destroy the works of the devil
by His living sacrifice, dying on a cross for the sins of the world, and
then by being resurrected by God into life eternal, so we too can
receive eternal life by believing on Him.
If we follow the words of God in His Holy Bible
and believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, if we receive Jesus into our
lives as our personal Lord and Saviour over our life, we can be born again.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:10-13 |
Salvation and eternal life are a gift from God
for believing in His Son, Jesus Christ.
When we receive the gift of God, which is salvation, we are
born again, we are regenerated into a new creature, we are born NOT of
blood, NOT of the will of the flesh, NOT of the will of man, but we
are born of the will of God.
As believers, our future is not on this earth, our
life is not in this sinful world, but our life eternal is with Jesus Christ
in the kingdom of God.
When we seek and do the will of God
we
will overcome the world.
How? By the power of God
that we receive when we become a child of God.
What does it mean to overcome? What are we to
overcome? Overcome what?
Those who overcome a life of sin, overcome
the lusts of the world, overcome the temptations to live in sin,
overcome by separating themselves from sin and death of the world, and do so
by obeying the will of God, will be saved and live for eternity in the
midst of the paradise of God. Only those who overcome this
world, like Jesus did, will live forever in the Kingdom of God.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of
life,
which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:7
He that overcometh,
the same shall be clothed in white raiment;
and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,
but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Revelation 21:7
|
Those of us who are born again, saved can overcome
this evil world and follow the will of God, because God overcame
death and sin and Christ abides in us and GOD is greater and more
powerful than anything of this world.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4 |
- Studying the word of God. If we turn to His word, we can read
the will of God in His scriptures.
- Through prayer. Seeking God when we pray.
Asking Him to reveal to us His will.
- Through our own spirit. We can also know the will of God
through the Holy Spirit, given to
us in our daily walk with God.
And he that searcheth the hearts
knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints
according to the will of God. Romans 8:27 |
Do you really want to know the will of God?
Do you have a deep desire to know God better?
We must be committed to learning the will of God, and
His will, not our will.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God.
Romans 10:17 |
This scripture doesn't mean you will grow your faith by
going to church and hearing someone preach to you.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hearing the word of God, reading and studying
His precious words. Praying and worshiping God. Talking to God and
listening to God, hearing God speak to us.
No person on this earth can give you faith. You
cannot receive faith from any person on this earth. No person on this
earth can grow your faith, and no person can increase your faith.
You cannot depend on anyone else's faith to save you. Only your
own personal faith in God will save you.
Your faith is inside of you alone. Only
you can grow your faith. And your
faith grows by hearing God.
No one has faith without hearing God.
To remain faithful to God we must separate ourselves
from the lusts and sins of this evil world.
We cannot be conformed to this world. God says
we cannot serve two masters. We cannot serve God and
serve the sin of the world.
We cannot live for God and live for
the world.
Overcoming means overcoming the sins and lusts of the world.
Turning your back on sin and lusts of the world and serving God,
following God instead of following the world.
Obeying the word of God, instead of obeying the world.
Obeying the teachings of God, instead of obeying the teachings
of sin and the world.
Doing the will of God, instead of doing the will of
the world. If you are living in sin, like the rest of the sinful
lustful world, you are NOT separated from the world.
The children of God are separated from the sin and
lusts of the world, because the sinful world is an enemy of God.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin;
for his seed remaineth in him:
and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,
neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 3:9-10 |
Whosoever does NOT righteousness is NOT of God,
these are very powerful words, the words of God which are given to mankind
from God Himself.
People who do unrighteousness, which is sin,
are NOT of God.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow
me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:27-28 |
The children of God, the saved, the born-again, follow Christ
Jesus and do the will of God the Father. The children of God will be given
eternal life and they shall never person.
The children of God, the saved, are known by their fruits,
what comes out of us, the righteousness that they live by and by the God that
they follow.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Matthew 7:20
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth
hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you:
he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin;
for his seed remaineth in him:
and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest,
and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,
neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 3:6-10
|
A disciple of Christ Jesus follows and continues daily in His
word.
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye
continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31 |
When we do the will of God we will not
only grow in our faith, but God promises that will be happy.
If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
John 13:17 |
Are you happy? We
all want to be happy. Our pursuit of happiness is found in the only
one true God and by doing the will of God.
Everyone.
Jesus calls His family, those who do the will of God.
For whosoever shall do the will of God,
the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
Mark 3:35 |
Everything that we do is to be done by the will of God.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 |

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of
Christ, saluteth, you,
always labouring fervently for you in prayers,
that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Colossians 4:12 |
This is the will of God.
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren,
and exhort you by the Lord Jesus,
that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God,
so ye would abound more and more.
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God,
even your sanctification,
that ye should abstain from fornication:
That every one of you should know
how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
Not in the lust of concupiscence,
even as the Gentiles which know not God:
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter:
because that the Lord is the avenger of all such,
as we also have forewarned you and testified.
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
He therefore that despiseth,
despiseth not man, but God,
who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 |

1 Peter 2:15
For it is better, if the will of God be so,
that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
1 Peter 3:17
|
Live the rest of your life to the will of God.
That he no long should live the rest of his
time in the flesh to the lusts of men,
but to the will of God.
1 Peter 4:2 Wherefore let them that suffer according to
the will of God
commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing,
as unto a faithful Creator.
1 Peter 4:19 |
He who does the will of God abides forever.
And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof:
but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:17 |
Joy by the will of God.
That I may come unto you with the joy by the
will of God,
and may with you be refreshed.
Romans 15:32 |

but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
